Pierce had undergone offseason ankle surgery on the same leg described as a 'clean-up procedure' for an injury lingering since the end of 2024; the relationship between the two injuries is unclear. Pierce, 26, signed a four-year, $114 million contract in the offseason and is coming off his most productive season with 47 receptions for 1,003 yards (21.3 yards per catch) and 6 touchdowns in 2025.
