Tagovailoa is the likely Week 1 starter but remains on a short leash.

Tua Tagovailoa is in a precarious position as the Falcons' potential Week 1 starter. His preseason performance was inconsistent, and while he is the veteran option, he is on a short leash. The team is waiting on Michael Penix Jr.'s health to determine their long-term direction.
