We knew Michael Penix Jr. would be a little rusty, but he was more than a little rusty to start this one. His interception on the first drive was a can't-throw-that shot over the middle right to the defender, and he repeatedly missed on Atlanta's initial drives while looking panicky. The intentional grounding call nearly killed Atlanta's first scoring drive before a fortunate roughing the passer revived it, and it looked like Penix was heading for a rough night. Happily, he was not.
