STACKED’s take
Watkins gets first snaps of season after two weeks inactive; Kubiak expects him to contribute.
Second-year tight end Jordan Watkins will receive his first opportunity of the season after being inactive for the first two games. Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak stated: 'He's going to get some ops. It's unfortunate why guys have to get elevated with injuries, but Jordan's going to get his opportunities and he's going to be called upon at some moment in these games. We're going to need him.' Kubiak praised Watkins' work ethic and preparation: 'He's been working really hard. I'm really proud of how he's kind of approached these past few weeks of the season, just working on the scout team and getting ready to go.' The opportunity stems from injuries at wide receiver, and Watkins' success will depend on execution and assignment detail when called upon.
