STACKED’s take
Patrick Herbert elevated from practice squad for NFL debut amid Chargers tight end injuries.
Patrick Herbert has been elevated from the Chargers' practice squad and will make his NFL debut against the Bills on Sunday. He signed with the Chargers' practice squad earlier this month after spending the preseason with the Jaguars and his rookie season in Jacksonville last year without being activated for a game. The elevation comes as the Chargers face an absurd number of tight end injuries: David Njoku was placed on injured reserve due to a fibula injury, Charlie Kolar is not active this weekend after hurting his left forearm, and Oronde Gadsden II was the only healthy tight end earlier in the week before Los Angeles signed Hayden Rucci from the Jaguars' practice squad. Patrick's elevation means the Chargers will have three active tight ends against the Bills.
