STACKED’s take
Mahomes' efficient passing masked offensive inconsistency; young roster needs to sustain focus.
Mahomes averaged over 10 yards per pass and over seven yards per play in the Chiefs' 24-10 win over Miami, but acknowledged the offense underperformed in the middle of the game, scoring just three points over five possessions between strong opening drives and a game-sealing touchdown. Mahomes emphasized the young roster's need to maintain consistency and intensity regardless of game circumstances, noting that a 12 o'clock start time and road travel were learning experiences for many players in their first NFL season. He stated: 'We're young, we're a young football team. So guys have to learn that. There will be learning experiences throughout the season.' Despite the victory, Mahomes stressed the importance of tape review and better practice execution to reach their championship aspirations.
