VideoEverything Just Changed - Week 4September 28, 2026

From the video

Montgomery isn't a running back by committee. He is still the lead back in this... McGomery is not a phenomenal receiving back... David McGomery is a desperation start... McGomery is projected out as low-end RB2 every week.

STACKED’s take

NeutralRole

Lead back but not receiving threat; low-end RB2 projection, desperation start without Collins.

Stafford confirms Montgomery is the lead back in the Texans backfield (not a committee), but notes he is not a phenomenal receiving back and projects as a low-end RB2 every week. Stafford describes him as a desperation start without Nico Collins, though he will improve once Collins returns due to increased red zone trips.
