Josh Jacobs' signing before the 2023 season forced the Packers to change their offensive system from outside zone to gap schemes. Jacobs lacks Aaron Jones' natural gliding speed for outside zone timing but excels in phone booth spaces and inside zone, duo, power, and gap scheme family runs. The Packers have spent the past two seasons trying to build an offensive line suited to Jacobs' skill set rather than the outside zone system they had for Jones.
