The only issue is he needs to be on the field more. 42%, 56%, 57% route rates to start the year, but it would sure as hell make a lot of sense that they finally spruce that up. Now that Jaylen Coker, unfortunately, is probably out of the picture here for a little bit... Wouldn't it make more sense if Waller is the fact of number two pass game option than Bryson Tremayne, John Metchie? Dalton Waller tight end 10, and that doesn't feel high enough.

TE10 ranking too low; route rate should spike with Coker sidelined.

Darren Waller is ranked TE10 but Ian Hartitz believes he should rank higher. His route rate has been low (42%, 56%, 57% to start the year) but should improve now that Jaylen Coker is sidelined with a quad injury. Waller looks like the second pass-game option for the Saints, making more sense than Bryson Tremayne or John Metchie; Hartitz feels TE10 doesn't feel high enough given his role. With Coker out and the Lions' weak tight end defense (allowing six tight end touchdowns through September with both starting safeties on IR), Hartitz would consider elevating Waller into the top eight tight ends.
