Geno Smith may not be a top quarterback, but he is a pretty big upgrade over the motley collection of Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, and Brady Cook at QB in 2025.

Smith's improved line and weapons elevate him from 2025 QB carousel.

Geno Smith is a significant upgrade over the 2025 Jets QB options (Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, Brady Cook); he has a strong and accurate arm and produces competent play when protected and given good weapons. In 2026, he is playing behind a much-improved Jets offensive line compared to his 2025 Raiders situation and has better weapons in Garrett Wilson, Kenyon Sadiq, and Adonai Mitchell, resulting in better play than last year.
