Bennett has earned the Rams' QB2 role with strong preseason play

Mina Kimes notes that Stetson Bennett has been the leader for the Rams' QB2 role all summer, which is surprising given Ty Simpson's status as a 13th overall pick. While Bennett is a known quantity as a pocket passer, he played well in the preseason game, including a viral 'gorgeous touch crosser' and three deep outs, leading Kimes to conclude that if you evaluate purely on this game, it is comprehensible why he is currently QB2.
