Winston's accuracy issues and ball-guarding tendencies raise concerns about his play.

Ed observes that Winston has thrown several low or well-short passes, and wonders if he is so conscious of not turning the ball over, especially in adverse weather conditions, that he has been guiding the ball rather than letting it rip; the extension tells us the team believes in him at least to a point, but nobody plans on having their backup quarterback play 16 games.
