Ron Stewart on Saquon Barkley
From the video
We take Seaquan one pick ahead of Kenneth Walker... We had Seaquan 14th overall... Seaquin, I recommend it to you guys is one of the guys I was betting my season on... that's still high and it's an L that I'm eating, right?... Saquon Barkley legitimately spooked. This Eagles suck. Saquon pulls up with a hamstring injury. It is a completely washed season for Saquon Barkley... He is one of the stone worst picks in fantasy... the floor can really bottom out to the point where when you take a running back early, they can just straight up ruin your team... Saquon's not the stone worst pick. he's more in your Chase Brown area as like a perfectly fine pick where he went... I did try to reverse course by the end of draft season... We traded Saquon, Trevion Henderson, and some fab for Jeremiah Love
STACKED’s take
Biggest draft regret; took over Kenneth Walker; hamstring injury; season washed.
Ron Stewart ranked Saquon 14th overall in pre-draft rankings and identified him as one of his season bets, but took him one pick ahead of Kenneth Walker in his league draft—a decision he now describes as his single biggest regret in fantasy football. Stewart acknowledges the pick was an error despite pre-draft conviction, stating "that's still high and it's an L that I'm eating, right?" The regret is compounded by Barkley's underperformance relative to Walker's breakout season. Stewart also notes Barkley pulled up with a hamstring injury, calling it a "completely washed season" given the Eagles' poor performance. Stewart later characterizes Saquon as "one of the stone worst picks in fantasy," noting that early-round running backs can "straight up ruin your team" when the floor bottoms out, though he acknowledges Saquon is "more in your Chase Brown area as like a perfectly fine pick where he went." Stewart attempted to reverse course by end of draft season due to hamstring injury concerns and traded away Saquon (along with Trevion Henderson and FAB) for Jeremiah Love to get off Eagles exposure.
