Mattek Fantasy Football on Jeremiyah Love
From the video
Jeremiah Love says to the Arizona Cardinals reporters after this game that this is going to be the longest year of his life. He plays 30 snaps, Algier plays 36, he runs nine routes, Algier runs 13. He did get 14 carries, was only targeted once in the passing game... spend the number three overall pick on a running back and then be like, you know what, we got to take this fe we got to take this guy off the field
STACKED’s take
#3 pick benched in key situations for free agent Algier; rookie inexperience cited.
Rashad White expresses frustration with Jeremiah Love's usage despite being the #3 overall pick. Love played only 30 snaps vs. Algier's 36, ran 9 routes vs. Algier's 13, and received only 1 target despite 14 carries. Love is returning from a high ankle sprain and the Cardinals are managing it, though there was speculation he may have aggravated the injury. Lafleur has designated Algier as the third-down back and two-minute drill back. White notes that rookies generally lack the experience for critical passing situations, so coaches prefer veteran presence like Algier. White remains frustrated that the Cardinals are taking the #3 overall pick off the field in key situations in favor of a free agent signing.
