Young leads NFL in passing yards; 317 avg would rank 3rd all-time.

Panthers quarterback is having an unexpected breakout season; Young has gone from a low-volume passer who topped out at 3,011 yards last season to the NFL's leader in passing yards through four games, averaging 317 yards per game (5,389 pace over 17 games, third-most in NFL history). He has already recorded two 300-yard games this season after having just three in his first three seasons combined, an unusual leap in his fourth season. Panthers fans were chanting "MVP" at him during Sunday night's game.
