Hogs Haven on Luke McCaffrey

McCaffrey gets opportunity to replace Lane; speed and return ability could fill void.

Wide receiver Luke McCaffrey, the former third-round pick from the 2024 NFL Draft, now has an opportunity to step up for Washington following Jaylin Lane's season-ending ankle injury. McCaffrey has appeared in just one game this season and has yet to draw a target, having been a healthy scratch in three games. However, his near-perfect fit to replace Lane's role in the receiver room and return game give the Commanders a clear in-house option. The question is whether McCaffrey's speed in the receiver room and potential big play ability as a returner can fill the void for the Commanders.
