PositiveUsageAug 23, 2026
Lloyd scored a TD reception on Dropback 7 in the red zone from a Nub formation. Lloyd ran an option route from the backfield on the left side of the formation while Josh Whyle ran a corner route. Love worked back to the left and found Lloyd in the middle of the field. Lloyd showed nice route technique, pushing out to keep inside leverage on the defender before cutting back inside to find open grass. Skyy Moore noted it was awesome to see Lloyd get this TD after everything he has been through over the last couple of years.
PositiveBreakoutAug 6, 2026
The source reports momentum building for running back MarShawn Lloyd in Year 3 after dealing with a series of injuries; Lloyd has only played 10 regular-season snaps after being taken in the third round but made several plays in camp today and got the majority of snaps with the starting offense while Jacobs was sidelined. Lloyd is described as "very, very fast" and caught a TD wide open during 11-on-11 drills, doing a backflip after the catch. At the moment, Lloyd projects to be the Packers' number two ball-carrier in 2026, only behind Jacobs.
NegativeRoleJul 22, 2026
MarShawn Lloyd, the 2024 third-round pick, is the primary backup to Josh Jacobs but represents a significant X-factor due to chronic injury history; he has played only one regular-season game in two years and logged just 10 offensive snaps total. The coaching staff continues to support him and give him roster opportunities, but his health status will determine whether he can contribute meaningfully to the 2026 backfield, especially with Emanuel Wilson's departure to Seattle.
