Giants RB Cam Skattebo, along with former Texan Devin Singletary, gashed Houston's defense repeatedly, combining for 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns on just 22 carries. Practically all of the Giants' RBs had been placed in the doghouse by head coach John Harbaugh the previous week, but the Texans defense became the catalyst for their bounce-back game.PositiveUsageOct 27, 2026
Skattebo delivered the critical game-winning play in OT: a 42-yard run up the middle on 2nd and 1 at the NYG 28-yard line (8:23 in OT). The Giants lined up in a run formation with FB/TE Ricard as the 2nd TE on the right side of a 3-TE set; the Giants' line blasted through Houston's defensive front, and Skattebo had perhaps the best running lane of his pro career, with no Texans body covering the second level beyond the DL. He outraced the secondary until Lassiter brought him down, putting the Giants well within FG range and effectively clinching the win.PositiveUsageOct 25, 2026
Cam Skattebo was the dominant force in the Giants' overtime victory over the Texans; the Texans defense had no answers for him and got absolutely steamrolled by his performance in overtime.NegativeUsageOct 23, 2026
Cam Skattebo played only six snaps and received zero carries Sunday against the Saints, held accountable for fumbling four times in five games, including three straight. His overtime fumble vs. the Commanders was described as inexcusable and cost the Giants a chance to win. However, with the Giants releasing Najee Harris this week, Skattebo is expected to return to the mix this weekend, suggesting his benching may be temporary.
