0:19Today was one of those days where the NFL completely flipped upside down.
0:23Instead of waiting around, we hit record and went live immediately on YouTube and on Twitch.
0:28So what you're about to hear is a combination of two breaking news reactions from earlier today from myself, Andrew Erickson, and Joe Pizzapia.

1:03Joe Pizapia with my best friend, Andrew Erickson, Mr.
1:06Big Pod Energy. Somehow, Derek Brown picked the worst week to go on vacation.
1:10We're talking about a massive deal that just went down.
1:13We are here live on the tailgate, our newest channel over from the fantasy pros family of channel.

1:20It's fun. It's football. It's just us breaking everything down, just talking ball, hanging out, having a good time.
1:25And of course, we're on our fantasy pros channel to live at the same time right now, because there's obviously some implications
1:32and IDP leagues and implications just didn't wagering some just implications, man.
1:35This was a massive move. You don't see big stars like this always getting moved at this stage in their career.
1:41And Andrew, we kind of talked about this stuff on the tailgate just last week.
1:45We were talking about the Browns and Miles Garrett and a new regime.
1:49And you know, maybe it's not an insane theory to think the new regime will come in.
1:53You can't wipe the slate clean of Deshaun Watson, but you can take some money off the books with Miles Garrett.
1:59And it looks like they did that. And he's going to the Rams.
2:03So there's a massive deal here. Adam Schefter reported it earlier.
2:06Andrew Erickson, what was the first thing that hit you here when you saw Miles Garrett going to the Rams who were
2:12already at the top of the board right now in terms of Super Bowl favorites?
2:16The F them picks. Rams are back. That's the way that I, that was my first initial reaction to it was everybody
2:22that complained about the Ty Simpson pick and they're not trying to win now.
2:26What are they doing? Well, how do we feel now about it?
2:29Well, they just traded a future first round pick to get arguably the best defensive player and defensive player last year, the
2:36best player and arguably of what the past 20 years.
2:38How good has Miles Garrett been as a reigning defensive player of the year?
2:42Ray Lewis is in there. I mean, future Hall of Fame edge rusher that now gets thrown to a Super Bowl contender or the Super Bowl favorite.
2:50And now I'd be super surprised or very interested to see what the odds have already shifted.
2:55I'm sure that money's just pouring in right now on the Rams to win the Super Bowl after Miles Garrett again, pending
3:01the physical because can every do suit too certain with the Matt Crosby fiasco that we saw play out.
3:06So yeah, I think that this move is is nuts.
3:09The fact that the Rams traded away Jared verse, the Browns want to get younger.
3:13The Rams want to win right now. And who better to help them do that than Miles Garrett, the reigning sack leader,
3:19the guy who broke the sack record last year.
3:22It's so insane. Yeah, not bad. So now you have the guy that broke the sack record playing on the opposite end
3:28of the ball on the same team with the reigning MVP in the league.
3:32That is scary stuff. It's scary stuff for the rest of the league.
3:35And look, this is a great division too, Andrew.
3:38We talk about all the time, you know, how tough this division is going to be poor Arizona Cardinals stuck at the bottom of it.
3:45You got the team that just won the Super Bowl.
3:47You got a team that's got the MVP on it and you got the 49ers still lurking around in there.
3:53So a very competitive division. So now Miles Garrett joins this defense.
3:56It was also pretty good that really made strides last year, especially in the second half of the year, the Rams defense really came on strong there.
4:04Jared verse a big reason why we're all talk about that part of the trade in just a second though.
4:09So just to kind of break it down in case you're, you know, still coming around to this news.
4:15You just woke up somewhere. Uh, Miles Garrett goes to the Rams here.
4:18The compensation is Jared verse a 2027 first round pick and then other draft compensation, which is being negotiated.
4:24Now, hopefully all of this does go through and hopefully all of this does happen.
4:28And as Andrew alluded to earlier, everybody passes all the physicals, but you are losing Jared verse in this defense, replacing him with miles Garrett.
4:35Yes. Miles Garrett hall of famer. Yes. Jared verse a very exciting young player at the same time, but the stability that
4:41this gives you now in the all in feel of this, where the Rams have just really pushed their chips here.
4:47I don't know what Vegas's reaction is going to be to this move here for the Rams, but I have to imagine
4:53it's going to be very aggressive because of the big name star power that miles Garrett's going to bring here to that defense.
4:59All the other quarterbacks in the FC should be terrified right now because now miles Garrett's coming to town.
5:05Uh, this is, this is really stunning stuff here.
5:07So Andrew, let's talk about the impact he's going to have on this defense too, not just up front, but also when
5:13you can put that kind of pressure on the quarterback, it also takes a lot of pressure off the secondary as well.
5:19Well, I think too, the fact that miles Garrett's actually going to play for a team that could have a lead in a game where they're not trailing.
5:27I mean, he's never played for a contender in any way, shape or form a team that never even had a chance
5:33of winning the division, winning the conference or going to the super bowl.
5:37I mean, miles Garrett, we're going to see him in the post season this year.
5:41That's awesome. Like that is going to be so fun.
5:44So when it comes down to, is he going to be at his best when it matters the most, when we have
5:50to get a sack on this third and long, you need to get to the opposing quarterback.
5:55That's miles Garrett. So I think him with the defensive line already, I think still pretty good to get obviously losing Jared
6:01versus a big loss, but you're getting Garrett. They have interior bodies there by run young, the guy they drafted a couple of years ago as well.
6:08His name is escaping me, but it's not like the Rams haven't invested in their defensive line.
6:13That has been their strength. The weakness last year was the secondary.
6:16What did they do this off season? They took all the chiefs cornerbacks, put them onto their roster.
6:21So now you're looking at turning a weakness into a strength, both on the edge and in the secondary Matthew Stafford, if
6:28his back holds up, he doesn't need to necessarily win the MVP again, because I think this defense is going to be
6:34a lot better than it was last season. All right.
6:36Breaking the contain here, hanging out with us, everybody just jumping into, I love this.
6:41I love it is June 1st and people are just crazy jumping into the live action right now.
6:46We've got going on the FP and the tailgate right now.
6:49Yes, I did confirm this too. It went from plus 800 on the Rams to plus 550 after the deal.
6:54So that's not surprising. We saw similar action when Parsons got traded to the Packers last year.
6:59Correct. Yeah. And you know what? This is kind of that reminiscent that feel like all of a sudden, like there's a
7:05tectonic plate shifting here in the NFL where like the Rams were already at the top of everybody's list.
7:10And if the Rams do win now and they've gone all in, then you ask yourself the question, do McVay and Stafford
7:17just walk away both the two of them? Do they stick around for that other year that now Stafford threw on to
7:23the end of his contract to defend that title?
7:25So many questions there. And I want to talk about the other side of this deal too, because I think from the
7:31Browns perspective, there's actually some pretty big positives here.

8:28Listen, you woke up this morning. You're Jared verse.
8:31You're a young baller living in LA nightlife there.
8:33Pretty girls in Los Angeles, the beach, things are going great.
8:36You're driving your range Rover, your Porsche. You're having a great day.
8:40And then all of a sudden you find out you get traded to Cleveland and now you're moving all your stuff to Ohio.
8:46Bit of a culture shock. They're kind of tough.
8:49Now with Todd monkey coming in as the head coach here, we talked about this on tailgate last week, that that felt
8:55like there could be kind of a, a wiping of the slate.
8:58There were rumors that miles Garrett wanted to get out money aside, restructure his deal.
9:02He just wants to go play in some playoff games like you alluded to and move on and get a chance to
9:08play in some relevant games before his career is done.
9:11Jared versus a great young player, not a good young player.
9:14He's a great young player. He can have a positive impact on this defense for years to come.
9:19And most importantly, now you're freeing up a bunch of cash space here for the future of a team that dare I
9:25say is starting to move in a better direction.
9:28We all liked the Browns draft this year. We thought they did a pretty good job there starting to turn that page.
9:34You can't wipe the slate clean of Deshaun Watson.
9:37That stank is on the Browns until the end of time, until that contract is over.
9:41But miles Garrett was one guy they can move on from.
9:44They did. So now how does this open things up from a maneuverability standpoint of the Browns franchise going forward?
9:50Well, they're probably going to sign Jared adverse to a long-term deal.
9:53That's one of the next moves that they make because he was entering a contract season.
9:57So the Rams looked at him and okay, maybe we don't want to pay him what miles Garrett is now making.
10:03So I think that it makes a lot of sense for both sides.
10:07Like this is a trade. I think that is a win-win for two franchises that are going in different directions.
10:12You alluded to it with Deshaun Watson that look, didn't matter how good miles Garrett was because the Browns didn't have their quarterback figured out.
10:19So he, again, led the NFL, broke that sack record last year.
10:23Where did the Browns pick in the draft? Inside the top 10.
10:26It did not matter a bit when it came to the final wins and losses.
10:30So now they can finally get out of the Deshaun Watson business, even though for some reason they keep entertaining, like maybe
10:36we can go back to this guy. Like, I don't know.
10:39I just wipe your hands clean, move on. You have so many Stallworth pieces set in place to drop a 2027 rookie
10:46quarterback of the future for next year. So just take the quarterback.
10:49That's going to give you the most losses this year for Cleveland, get a high draft pick next year and be ready
10:55to rebuild and take on teams that where the Steelers going to be next year.
10:59Who's their quarterback going to be? We don't really know.
11:02Ravens. Is this the last year Lamar Jackson plays for the Baltimore Ravens?
11:06Okay. Obviously the Bengals with Joe Burrow, that's going to be the thing that's the toughest, but we've also heard rumors of,
11:12does Joe Burrow want to be in Cincinnati long-term.
11:14So it could be as early as 2027. They'll look up and be like, are the Browns going to win this division?
11:20I wouldn't be shocked. It's not impossible. It's not impossible.
11:23Look, we've been talking about all of the previews for all the teams on the tailgate channel.

11:33And again, this is the kind of stuff we're doing.
11:36We're just beating the ball back and forth about NFL with all the different takes.

11:47We have the AFC East we've been holding out on because we've been waiting for AJ Brown news to see how it's going to impact that.

12:26And to Andrew's point, the landscape does feel like this is kind of a fork in the road.
12:31You have Harbaugh leave this division here in the AFC North.
12:34You have a tenuous situation with the Bengals and Joe Burrow.
12:37If things go South again here, could there be just a period of time where Joe Burrow just says, I can't do it here.
12:44I got to go somewhere else. Lamar Jackson's health last year, obviously not great.
12:48And you know, the Steelers are well in kind of a weird place right now to say the very least.
12:54So Andrew is a hundred percent, right? There is just a lot of moving pieces in this division.
12:59And it feels like the Browns have kind of freed themselves up a little bit to be a little bit more malleable
13:05here in the next couple of years to come here.
13:08And that's everything in the NFL, right? Because if you have some cap room and you make good decisions with young players
13:14like Jared Burrow and lock them up, all of a sudden Erickson feels like the world could be their oyster if some
13:20of these little dominoes fall in the right position for them in the next year or two.
13:25Yeah. I think that the Browns have made a lot of good moves over the last couple of seasons.
13:30Just the one move that was not good was the most significant in the Deshaun Watson move, right?
13:35So, and it just, it took so many years for them to finally get out from underneath that type of contract.
13:41And it just goes to show how important the quarterback position is.
13:44Miles Garrett, we've talked about it because it deserves as much praise, broke the sack record last year and the team still picking side of the top 10.
13:52So I'm excited for both of these teams. I think this is awesome.
13:55Just going back to the Rams point, man, this team was already at the top of our, and I think actually Debra
14:02made a good comment in the, in the chat where, don't encourage.
14:05No, no, no, it was a, no, I liked, I liked it because does Miles Garrett actually like, how much better is
14:11he than Jared verse who is more is younger?
14:14Like, again, they're both play the same position. Is it like they're going to win three more games now because I have Miles Garrett instead of Jared first?
14:21I don't think so. But to your point, the betting odds are moving.
14:25Miles Garrett's definitely the bigger name than Jared verse.
14:27So I thought that was just an interesting point.
14:30I think Miles Garrett is a, is a two game win player.
14:33I think he's that kind of an impact player on a game.
14:37And I think more importantly, it's the kind of player in the playoffs when you're in those high pressure situations, right?
14:42Look, Jared versus great. Right. He's on his way to being elite.
14:46Miles Garrett's already there. The only downside of this is if Stafford gets hurt, all of a sudden now I got Ty
14:52Simpson, right now you're, now you pivot to Ty Simpson or whatever your plan is.
14:56And now you've once again, mortgaged the future. If you're the Rams for win now attitude, which is great.
15:01Like you want to go in there and be competitive as the NFL, but at the same time, the risk is enormous
15:08of this trade because Jared verse is a great young player that you could build around in the future in that transition
15:14away from Matthew Stafford in two years, potentially we're saying, okay, well we have some good defensive pieces.
15:19We have Jared verse. We're going to remake the offense.
15:21Now, if things don't go well this year for the Rams and injuries and age start to catch up with him, all
15:28of a sudden now it's not just the offensive side.
15:30You got to worry about the defensive side too.
15:33So this is a really fascinating move. Morning people wake up for peace and quiet.

17:18from the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots.
17:21As you can see, somehow in the last 20 minutes, Andrew Erickson already got that jersey press, right?

17:40Now, if you turn around, does it really say AJ Brown on the back?
17:43Are we going to get to find that out?
17:46I mean, I don't need to disclose that information.
17:48So all you can see is what was on camera and it's 11 it's Patriots.
17:53And that's what he's going to wear probably because nobody right now is currently wearing 11 on the Patriots roster, which I don't think is a mistake.
18:00I think Julian Edelman should be in the ring of fame there, but that's a conversation for the tailgate here.

18:08So let's talk about AJ Brown on his way out, going back the other way to the Eagles.
18:14They're getting a 2028 first round pick. So everybody thought that how he was holding out for the 2027 first rounder, because
18:20everybody wants 2027 picks just ask the Cleveland Browns and everybody else, right?
18:23That's the draft, right? We keep being told that's the draft.
18:26That's what it's going to be. That's the one you want to have all the picks for, but they're not getting pushed
18:32to 2028, which I thought was kind of interesting, a little surprising there, to be honest.
18:37They also got a 2027 fifth round pick there.
18:39So how he's always going to get something else because that's what how he does.
18:44So let's set the stage here because Drake may is finally getting his alpha dog wide receiver, which he did not have last year.
18:50Stefan Diggs came in a lesser version of himself.
18:53It was pretty good for the first eight weeks of the season.
18:56Not so hot. The last eight weeks of the season, you could tell the season kind of wore down on Stefan Diggs
19:02a little bit as did his relationship with Cardi B.
19:05Both of those things kind of wore him down a little bit as with any man it would.
19:10But now we have that full alpha dog wide receiver.
19:13The question is what's the upside here in fantasy?
19:15And look, we got to talk about some downside too, because the knee could be an issue here.
19:20So Erickson, I don't want to rain on your parade.
19:23I don't want to dampen your spirits here at all today.
19:26Let's walk through the positives first. All right. Because the positives we're looking at, if we can get over that 145, 150
19:32target threshold, we're getting 1400 yard AJ Brown with 10 touchdowns.
19:35Probably if we stick around that 120 mark, it's looking more like a thousand, 1100, seven or eight touchdowns.
19:41So which version do you think we get with AJ Brown as a Patriot in 2026?
19:45I think we're going to get the higher range of outcomes for AJ Brown, because I think what he did last year,
19:51when you look at some of the advanced metrics, yeah, it looked like he had fallen off a little bit, but I
19:57think that's just so based on the circumstances he was in, in the Philadelphia Eagles offense, where he was either frustrated or
20:03disinterested or just not as involved as he should have been.
20:07But when you look at after his first time he complained on Twitch or whatever it was, whatever stream he was on,
20:13he's like, they're not using the offense that following six game stretch, 88 receiving yards per game, nearly three yards per route
20:19run, almost 19.6 full PPR points per game. So he's almost coming into 20 points per game in terms of fantasy wide receiver and full PPR.
20:26That is elite level production. And when I look at his fit in this Patriots offense, I think it's a perfect real life fit.
20:33This slide Romeo Dobbs into a much better number two red zone role attached to Drake May and putting AJ Brown in
20:39his position where what if Josh McDaniels decides this is my Devontae Adams, who I had with the Las Vegas Raiders, who
20:45was pushing 180 targets in that offense and even throwing it back.
20:48I remember a guy named Brandon Marshall, who I think broke the record for most targets in a game that was called by Josh McDaniels.
20:55You look at me at 20 targets in one game.
20:58So I think that this is a screaming upside play for the New England Patriots for AJ Brown.
21:03I was redoing my wide receiver rankings for fantasy on Friday when I was writing the article that AJ Brown would be eventually traded to the Patriots.
21:11So I could be here at the tailgate and not stuck to my desk, writing the AJ Brown article.
21:16It's already been read. It's already out. You can go read it.
21:19I know Joe won't read it, but that's okay.
21:22You guys out there, you guys will read it.
21:24Um, what I found with, with, it's an ongoing joke.
21:27Andrew takes it personally that I don't read his work.
21:30I need a break, Andrew. And you know, it's all day we do this, you know, you know, when I break, I'm,
21:36I'm watching reels, you know, uh, in the bathroom.
21:38I'm not reading Andrew Erickson articles. I'm just like, I love you.
21:42I'm just not going to do what everyone else should, but I need a break from you.
21:46If you're not going to read the article, there's one thing I do want you to read.
21:51So this was an Instagram post by AJ Brown after he won the Superbowl with the Eagles.
21:56And I thought it was really interesting because it doesn't really talk about how he feels like, Oh, I need to win a championship.
22:03Like that's, what's going to satisfy my NFL career.
22:05He basically talked about how, Hey, my throw for this game comes when I dominate.
22:09And this is the exact quote. It's the hunt that does it for me.
22:13It's when the DB drops his head surrenders because he can't F with me.
22:17You can't rank AJ Brown high enough because he's going to get peppered with targets.
22:21He's going to dominate defensive backs attached to Drake may at these getting upgrade in terms of the quarterback play.
22:27Drake may was so great last year. The passing game was so efficient.
22:30That beautiful deep ball. Just imagine all the big plays we saw from Matt Collins, from Stefan digs at times from Kayshaun booty.
22:37And now you're putting that type of situation opportunity with a player of AJ Brown's caliber.
22:41I think it's, it's so wheels up. I I'm super excited.
22:44I think that he has a sky high ceiling.
22:47And I think that 1400 yards, 12, 13, 14 touchdowns is more like in his range of outcomes.
22:52Well, look, that's putting them in the first round conversation with fantasy pro side of things.
22:56I mean, that's, that's right there. So that's, that's turn pick kind of stuff.
23:00If that's what you think AJ Brown's going to be, you know, you mentioned something that I wanted to hit on too,
23:06because it does feel like also Romeo Dobbs. Now red zone wise, I think his stock goes up a little bit, Hunter
23:13Henry potentially as well, because we have a guy like AJ Brown that you have to account for in that red zone
23:19area, it does loosen things up quite a bit.
23:21So I like it for Romeo Dobbs. I love it for Drake may I like it for AJ Brown.
23:26I think the motivations there also to prove that not only still have it, but he's also not that old.
23:32I mean, you know, I mean, he's not like in his thirties here.
23:36So AJ Brown is still a player with a lot of football left.
23:39The question is about that knee. I want to talk to you about that.

24:48Let's talk about the need of AJ Brown, because I know that's one thing that you have kind of been throwing in there.
24:54Every time we have this conversation, a little too Patriot boys talking about, Oh, wouldn't it be nice for Christmas if we
25:00got, Oh father, wouldn't it be wonderful father if we go get AJ Brown for Christmas?
25:05And then we got him. You kept saying the coal in the stocking is how's the knee look?
25:10So Erickson, what are your thoughts on the degenerative knee question mark?
25:13That kind of hovers over this move with AJ Brown?
25:16Well, he's had this degenerative knee since I don't know how long since he was drafted into the NFL.
25:21He's had a thousand yards and six out of seven seasons.
25:24So, I mean, clearly it hasn't been inhibiting him that much.
25:27Yeah. He's been banged up here and there, missed a couple of games.
25:31I know last year too, enough people don't talk about this.
25:34He also had a hamstring injury. He entered the season, I believe last year with a hamstring injury that was kind of on and off during the summer.
25:42He did miss a couple of games in the middle of the season, but when he came back after he voiced, I want to get more targets.
25:49He had double digit targets, five of his last six games, and he went on a tear of a wide receiver three overall fantasy pace.
25:56So even when he wasn't the focal point of the Eagles offense, he stood up and said, get me the ball like Tio.
26:03And they got him the ball and he was an absolute monster.
26:06And I just think that's never going to be a problem in New England.
26:10They went out and got him for a reason to get him the rock.
26:14This is what he wants. He just wants to dominate.
26:17He doesn't care about winning. He's like, just give me the ball, baby.
26:20And I'm so here for it because I think that's exactly what the Patriots need offensively.
26:25And I know we've talked about the Patriots regressing in their win loss total.
26:28I think that's still going to be. I think we still agree on that.
26:32Yeah. I don't think it changes. I don't think it makes them the team over the Buffalo bills.
26:37I wouldn't be taking it. I don't know if Vegas is going to move that line at all, but I wouldn't, if
26:44I was them, I would leave the bills right where they were because guess what?
26:48They got a wide receiver too. And that was the big missing piece for them.
26:52So if we liked the bills before, I mean, I think we still like the bills after this move.
26:57Cause I think we all figured this was a foregone conclusion.
27:00Now the flip side of this is the other perspective, which is the Eagles, which have been a team that's been acquiring
27:06wide receivers all off season, which was the obvious flag up there running up the pole that we knew that this was
27:12eventually going where AJ Brown was going was TBD.
27:15We all thought it was the Patriots and ended up being the Patriots.
27:19Okay, cool. To me, this is another Makai lemon solidification moment where I know everybody's going to talk about Devonta Smith, but
27:25I want to bring up Makai lemon because I think Smith's workload will increase.
27:29Of course it will to a certain degree, but I think lemon is the guy you're talking about return on investment and fantasy, right?
27:35We're live sharing on FP today a little bit.
27:38That's the one that's the most intriguing to me.
27:40Cause he's being drafted more as a wide receiver three ish.
27:43And that value to me, that return is fantastic.
27:46And they, they moved up to get him. I know the Howie Roseman track record of identifying good wide receivers in the
27:52draft has been a little spotty here and there, but I think this time they got it right.
27:57And I think lemon really could, I don't want to put the term league winner out there.
28:02Cause I know that's a little controversial at times, but I do believe that potential at least is there.
28:07What are your thoughts on what remains in the wide receiver room for the Eagles?
28:11I still think that it's more about Devante Smith.
28:14I think that it's his time to shine as the Batman of this passing game where, when you're playing next to AJ
28:20Brown, it's really hard to be Batman. It's Batman and Robin for the most part.
28:24And not to say, I mean, Smith has been really, really good, been really efficient.
28:28And even last year when that offense was kind of going away from AJ Brown, Devante Smith stepped up into his credit
28:34every single time there was an opportunity throughout his career.
28:37When AJ Brown has missed games or Dallas Goddard has missed games.
28:40Devante Smith has proven wide receiver, one level production in those contests, especially in some of these big playoff games.
28:46Like he is cooked. Look at his game logs against the chiefs.
28:49Devante Smith owns Kansas city, like in that defense, like he's had some monster performances.
28:54So I don't really have any reservations about, Oh, can Smith be the wide receiver one for the Eagles team?
28:59Like I feel pretty confident that he is going to step into this role really well.
29:04I think that AJ Brown and Devante Smith, they could both be fantasy wide receiver ones after kind of not really seeing
29:10that play out when they were teammates together, where it seemed like Smith would always need an injury to at least get
29:16to that level of production to the lemon point though.
29:19His price is what's enticing the most to me because you don't necessarily need to get the guarantee production from day one.
29:25I don't think it's going to happen from day one because this is a new install offense.
29:29Jalen hurts has another new offensive coordinator. How are things going to gel with the, Oh no, can he throw over the
29:36ball over the middle of the field? Like what's going to happen?
29:39Like again, we're being facetious here, but I do think eventually they'll get things going.
29:43And I think that lemon is going to be a strong ROI rookie wide receiver, especially just based on the talent profile.
29:49I certainly do. And I think of the rookie trio that everyone's looking at between Tyson and Tate and lemon.
29:55I think the circumstances right now are in a very clear path for me, at least lemon should be the first one
30:01off the board of those three for me in redraft.
30:04That's that's just my take on it. I'd love to hear everybody else's drop your comments below, except one person.
30:09I don't want to hear any more comments from this guy, Derek Brown.

30:25All right. The lemon is refreshing. And yeah, I mean, the whole point is that Derek Brown, when you go on vacation, you should stay on vacation.

30:35So obviously, you know, a busy day of trades, a busy day of moving around here.
30:40From that perspective, two Patriots given up on their first round pick.
30:43Now, the 2027 draft, that's the one that was so important here that everybody keeps hyping up there because of the quarterbacks
30:49and all the other pieces that will be falling out there from the college ranks into the NFL.
30:54I am a little surprised that it was not a 2027 first.
30:58Were you surprised at all by that? Yeah, I'm still trying to wrap my mind because I remember reading a report that
31:04maybe months ago that it was a 2028 first round pick that was going to be dealt.
31:09And I agree with you that the 2027 picks are the ones that are being heavily sought after.
31:14And why would the Eagles want that instead? So I think that we could probably find out more answers about why it
31:20was a 2028 pick and not a 2027 pick.
31:22Well, my guess is the Patriots just stood fast on it, you know, and they're like, no, we're just no 2027 is
31:28the year where nobody wants to give up picks except the Rams because the Rams just don't care.
31:33They don't. But the thing with the Rams is they don't need that pick because they already have a quarterback in the future.
31:40Like the 27 picks are good because of a quarterback.
31:43But no, but that's what I mean though. It's more than that.
31:46It's a very good draft too. You got some really dominant wide receivers coming out there.
31:50Look, it's a better overall class, but more to the point too, that Rams pick is basically a second round pick, right?
31:56It's going to be the last two or three theoretically, like everything breaks right for them anyway.
32:01And they need that. It's that 2027 first round.
32:04If we're predicting what we do, which is regression possibly for that team that overperformed last year, they have a tougher schedule this year.
32:10Maybe a little different story. That pick could be in the twenties potentially.
32:14But still not. I guess for me, it's like we, or at least I believe that the strength of a draft class is goes to the quarterbacks.
32:21Like those are the classes that are remembered the most.
32:24It was like, how strong was the quarterbacks? And I think if you're picking a 25 with your 2027, like there's, there's
32:30not going to be quarterbacks there at 25. All right.
32:33Let's get to some of the questions here. Phillip wants to know, how does this affect the NFC East lineup after this trade?
32:40I mean, who's your favorite right now for the NFC East?
32:43I don't think the Eagles are better with Makai Lemon and AJ Brown.
32:46Personally. No, I don't, I don't think that that's true either.
32:49I think they could be as good as they were last year, but I wouldn't say that they're better.
32:55I think that's a really good way. I mean, on paper, I mean, Dallas looks stacked, but this is what happens every single year.
33:01So, well, they did address a little bit of the defense, but that thing is the offense works.
33:06It's just, can you just, all the Dallas Cowboys have to do is finish in the middle of the pack defensively.
33:12That's it. Middle of the pack gets them to the top of this division, in my opinion.
33:17And I am, I am, I also want to get to the, to the giants about the NFC East.
33:22I just, this Malik neighbors thing is just concerning me.
33:25And Matt Nagy is just like, Oh, the fact that they signed 5,000 wide receivers today.
33:29No, well, that's not, it's not good. It's not good.
33:32I tweeted about it. I said, show me that you're worried about Malik neighbors without showing me you're worried about Malik neighbors.
33:38I mean, Odell Beckham and Juju Smith-Schuster. I mean, what the hell are we doing here?
33:43What in the world are we doing here? And they also signed a time machine too.
33:47Where's Victor Cruz? What's he doing? Where's he dancing right now?
33:50Which team do you think got the best deal today?
33:53This is a great question. I want to end on this one.
33:56This is great. So who won the day? The Rams, the Eagles, the Pats or the Browns?
34:01It's gotta be the Browns. I mean, I think that they got the, cause like in terms of just like, when we
34:07look back at, I mean, I guess if the Rams win the Superbowl, then If the Rams win the Superbowl, they won the day.
34:14Yeah. So theoretically, since Vegas thinks they're the favorite anyway, well then, then the Rams won the day.
34:19But the Browns are setting themselves up really. How about this?
34:22You like this? The Rams won the, uh, the battle, but the Browns might've won the war today.
34:27Long-term look, you know what I mean? Or if they can actually use the picks that they've got now and move up
34:33to take the quarterback that they want in the future and and correct some of the wrongs, then, then that's what it looks like.
