D'Andre Swift

PositiveRole0:48

With Kyle Manangaya out, De'Andre Swift is a top 10 must-start running back who gets the vast majority of high-value work and usage out of the backfield, including three targets in this game. He plays through fatigue situations where Roschon Johnson enters only for brief relief before Swift returns; this pattern will persist as long as Manangaya remains sidelined. Once Manangaya returns, Swift's volume will decline similar to the Jaylen Warren-Rico Dowdle situation, but he will remain a must-start regardless.

Insight page

D'Onta Foreman

NegativeRole10:34

Currently ranked as a top 10 running back with Kyle Juszczyk sidelined, but carries are expected to decline when Juszczyk returns to the 49ers offense, creating usage uncertainty.

Insight page

Jadarian Price

PositiveBreakout5:57

First-round drafted running back in his fourth NFL game showing improvement trajectory despite early fumbling issues and limited prior playing time (two games, then injured halfway through third game). Week 8 snap share of 48% with 10 carries, 13 routes, and four targets; ended with more yards than Charbonnet. Critically, Price was the running back on the field inside the 10-yard line, contradicting pre-game expectations that Charbonnet would handle goal-line work. De'Andre Swift moved J'Adarian Price above Zach Charbonnet in rankings following week 8 performance, personally owns Price on his fantasy team (traded Kellen Blanton for him before the game), and believes Price will continue to improve.

Insight page
PositiveValue9:55

Moving up in rankings above Zach Charbonnet based on usage evidence from Bears-Seahawks game; Price saw more snaps, more touches, more targets, and was deployed at the two-minute drill and goal line, indicating preferred role in backfield.

Insight page

Jahmyr Gibbs

PositiveProjection10:10

Ranked as the second overall player in fantasy football rankings, ahead of JSN (Jalen Scantling-Njoku), cementing elite status.

Insight page

Kendre Miller

PositiveRole11:35

Usage remains murky after one game, but De'andre Swift is more optimistic about Kendre Miller's role going forward compared to pre-game outlook; difficult to draw firm conclusions from single game performance.

Insight page

Luther Burden

PositiveUsage4:06

Luther Burden started incredibly hot with nine targets in this game, his second-highest target volume of the season (only week three vs. Philadelphia had more). Designated as a must-start wide receiver every week going forward; raising his floor with strong target volume. However, he still carries boom-bust volatility similar to Taysom Hill, Gerald Everett, Garrett Wilson, Parker Washington, and Jameson Williams, meaning he will have big games and some duds.

Insight page

Raheem Mostert

NegativeRole10:34

Currently ranked as a top 10 running back with Kyle Juszczyk sidelined, but carries are expected to decline when Juszczyk returns to the 49ers offense, creating usage uncertainty.

Insight page

Roman Wilson

NegativeRole11:13

Remains a borderline flex option with limited role clarity; not elevated to must-start status.

Insight page

Sam Darnold

NegativeRole4:40

Sam Darnold is not startable and not interesting from a fantasy perspective. His only relevance is whether he can support running back scoring by getting the Seahawks offense to the red zone and scoring touchdowns.

Insight page

Zach Charbonnet

NegativeUsage5:19

Week 8 snap share of 36% with six carries and seven routes; received four targets but ended with fewer yards than J'Adarian Price. Returned from torn ACL faster than any running back since 2012; likely artificially limited in first game back from devastating injury. De'Andre Swift notes reasonable expectation that Charbonnet gets better over time as he ramps up from injury return. However, he is now ranked below J'Adarian Price after game film showed Price with superior usage metrics; Charbonnet's role remains murky with fewer snaps, touches, and targets, and no goal-line or two-minute drill deployment.

0:00Tonight was incredible. After tonight's
0:03game, we move to third in our league
0:05standings, tied with the second place
0:07team, Jinxie. Looks like it may be the
0:09third straight year we earn ourselves a
0:12buy into the playoffs and then
0:14immediately lose in week 16. Loved it.
0:17Tonight was perfect for us, but let's
0:20talk about everything that happened
0:22because it was a pretty good football
0:23game in general, especially if you're a
0:26Bears fan, of course. Now, starting off
0:28with the Chicago Bears, we know what the
0:31Bears want to do is they want to run the
0:33ball over and over and over again.
0:35Obviously, a lot of this was due to the
0:38fact that they were winning at the end
0:40of the game. They were able to run the
0:41ball a ton in the fourth quarter, but
0:43you had 34 total pass attempts for Caleb
0:45to 35 rushing attempts for this Bears
0:48offense. And with De'Andre Swift
0:51specifically, he gets the vast vast
0:54majority of it. There were moments where
0:55Roschon Johnson was on the field.
0:58Roschon did get some red zone work, but
1:00the red zone work that Roschon got would
1:03be like, "Oh, De'Andre Swift just played
1:0512 straight snaps. He just had a big
1:07play. He kind of needs to just take a
1:09breather on the sideline." Then Roschon
1:12goes in, he takes a couple snaps, they
1:14get down to the 5-yard line, De'Andre
1:16Swift gets right back in there, right?
1:18So, what we saw in this game is very
1:20clearly what we've seen for the past
1:22month. With no Kyle Manangaya, De'Andre
1:25Swift is a top 10 must-start running
1:27back, an absolute gem. He'll get all the
1:30high-volume work and, I'm sorry,
1:32high-value work and he'll get the usage
1:34out of the backfield. He had the three
1:36targets in this game, as well. So,
1:38no Kyle Manangaya, De'Andre Swift said
1:41and forget a top 10 running back, no
1:42questions asked. Again, once Kyle
1:45Manangaya does come back, I do think
1:47that you're in maybe a little bit of an
1:49awkward spot in which the Swift volume's
1:52going to go down a bit. It's going to be
1:53very similar to the Jaylen Warren-Rico
1:55Dowdle situation, right? Where Jaylen
1:58Warren was like a borderline top five
2:00running back when Rico Dowdle wasn't in
2:02there and you knew you were going to
2:03have to lower your expectations when
2:05Dowdle got back, but he's still going to
2:07remain a must start running back
2:08regardless. Kind of the same setup that
2:10you have with De'Andre Swift. It seems
2:12too good, the offense is too good and
2:14obviously they can run the ball like
2:15crazy. Going to Caleb, there isn't much
2:19to discuss. I know this wasn't the best
2:20Caleb Williams game ever, but I believe
2:22they said on the broadcast this was the
2:24first game where we had a quarterback
2:28throw for over 200 yards against the
2:30Seattle Seahawks. Hell, it's a really
2:31tough match up. Caleb Williams obviously
2:33did his job, looked great. It was just a
2:35game environment which he didn't have to
2:37get into a shootout cuz the Seahawks
2:38weren't able to push the Chicago Bears.
2:40Now, moving to the receivers that we
2:44have here in Chicago, you have Luther
2:46Burden starting off incredibly hot. Like
2:48that first drive, it was just straight
2:51up all Luther Burden. I mean, I was
2:53actually hoping that the top team in the
2:56Flock league was going to lose and
2:57Luther Burden had to score like fewer
2:59than four points for that to happen.
3:01Immediately those dreams died. Uh Luther
3:04Burden getting a considerable amount of
3:05target volume. He had nine targets in
3:07this game. This is close to his season
3:10high for him. Let me pull up what his
3:11actual season high is. He obviously
3:13looked great in last primetime game on
3:17Thursday. I believe that was against the
3:20New England Patriots. And yeah, that one
3:22he only had four targets, but this is
3:24his second highest game with his target
3:28volume so far this season. Having nine,
3:30the only other week where he had more um
3:33than this was week three against
3:35Philadelphia. So, this is three really
3:37solid games for Luther Burden. If I'm
3:40looking at where I think I'm initially
3:41going to be putting him in our ranks, I
3:43think he's right there in the range of
3:45these guys like same tier as Tutu
3:47Atwell, Zay Flowers, Garrett Wilson,
3:49Parker Washington, Jameson, George
3:51Pickens, Rashee Rice, where all these
3:53players are going to be must start wide
3:54receivers every single week. They all
3:56have crazy high ceilings, but they all
3:59realis- realistically have lower floors
4:02as well.
4:04Now, going to Rondale Rome actually had
4:07a very good game for his standards. I
4:11mean, some plays he was just wide as
4:13open down the field, but I would still
4:16say Rome's like a desperation flex play,
4:18not somebody you can consistently rely
4:20upon. Loveland looked great minus the
4:23fumble. They are force-feeding targets
4:25in his direction. We updated this with
4:27the rankings last week moving Colby
4:29Loveland back to being a top five tight
4:31end especially with Cole Kmet out for
4:33the rest of the year, but I think the
4:35usage here does prove that that should
4:37most likely be the case.
4:40Now, let's move over to the Seattle
4:43Seahawks situation. So, not much to
4:47discuss. Like we we kind of know what
4:49the deal is with the quarterback
4:51situation, the receivers here, right?
4:53Sam Darnold is not startable. He's not
4:56interesting. The only thing that's
4:58relevant is um will Sam Darnold be good
5:02enough to allow this offense to get to
5:05the red zone, to score touchdowns with
5:08the running backs that they have, right?
5:11And if we look at the setup for these
5:14RBs, this was the number one thing to
5:16look at coming into this game. My take
5:19on the backfield was Zach Charbonnet is
5:22the running back that I would prefer. I
5:24had Charbonnet ranked one slot ahead of
5:27J'Adarian Price for this contest.
5:30And
5:32I thought neither running back you could
5:34start cuz we really had no idea what to
5:36expect the usage to be. Let me see if I
5:39can find the snap data here because just
5:42from watching the game, it felt like
5:45J'Adarian Price was on the field way
5:48more than what we had with
5:51Zach Charbonnet. Yeah, I just found
5:53this.
5:54Seahawks week eight running back usage.
5:57J'Adarian Price 48% of the snaps.
6:01Zach Charbonnet 36% of the snaps.
6:04J'Adarian Price had 10 carries to Zach
6:07Charbonnet with six carries. J'Darian
6:09Price had 13 routes in comparison to
6:12Zach Charbonnet with seven routes, and
6:14they both had four targets. J'Darian
6:16Price ending up with more yards.
6:19Now, in terms of the goal line
6:21opportunities, I think that's going to
6:23be a big big thing to be on the lookout
6:25for because a lot of people were
6:26expecting coming into this that we were
6:28just going to see
6:31um the
6:33Zach Charbonnet role stay the exact same
6:35for Charbonnet where he was going to be
6:36used as a receiving back. He was going
6:37to get the goal line opportunities.
6:39J'Darian Price going to be the first and
6:40second down running back in between the
6:4220-yard lines. Very similar to Kenneth
6:44Walker. But, J'Darian Price when they
6:47were inside the 10-yard line was
6:49actually the running back on the field.
6:52So, in terms of the usage in this game,
6:55obviously neither running back scored
6:57points.
6:58But, it's going to be very interesting
7:00in seeing how they project out for this
7:02next week cuz this next week is a
7:04completely different match-up. Like,
7:07right now if we go over and project this
7:08out for the Seahawks, right now on the
7:10PolyMarket app you have a 84% chance
7:14that the Seattle Seahawks beat the
7:15Arizona Cardinals next week. This game,
7:17I believe,
7:19has the highest spread of any game in
7:21the NFL with the Seahawks favored by 10
7:23and 1/2.
7:25Now, obviously if you check out any of
7:27these markets, links in the description
7:28comment section, code flock gets you 25
7:30bucks out of your account after you
7:31deposit your first time.
7:33But, with how good this match-up is,
7:36I think it's going to be very important
7:39to try to
7:40project out how many touches is Price
7:43getting? How many touches will
7:44Charbonnet be seeing this next week? I
7:47bet one of these running backs is
7:49usable. Now, I will be honest.
7:52I have J'Darian Price on my own fantasy
7:55team. I essentially traded Kellen
7:57Blanton for him
7:58before this game. I want to say like a
8:00week ago before people knew for sure he
8:02was coming back.
8:03I am leaving very encouraged on what I
8:06saw,
8:07but also Zach Charbonnet just came back
8:09from a torn ACL faster than any running
8:12back since 2012.
8:14At least that's what I saw on Twitter,
8:16and the graphic looked pretty
8:17professional, so I'm going to believe
8:18it.
8:20So, in that case, it is not unreasonable
8:23to assume that Zach Charbonnet was maybe
8:26artificially limited in this game with
8:29it being his first game back from a
8:31devastating injury and them kind of
8:33rushing his return.
8:35So, there are reasons to believe that
8:37Charbonnet gets better over time, but
8:39you can also kind of say this in the
8:41opposite direction, where you can say
8:44that J'Darian Price
8:48um
8:49>> [snorts]
8:51>> he's a rookie running back that this was
8:53his fourth NFL game ever.
8:56I know people clown on J'Darian Price
8:59saying he looked bad. I mean, I am just
9:01following the Jonathan Taylor stuff
9:02nonstop on Twitter. So, at this point,
9:05like the Seahawks fan base, the Denver
9:06Broncos fan base, the Minnesota Vikings
9:09fan base, I I'm getting all of their
9:11tweets. I am soaking it all in. And I
9:13see a lot of Seattle Seahawks fans
9:16clowning on J'Darian Price for looking
9:18bad, but again, he played two games,
9:21then got injured
9:23halfway through his third game. Yes, he
9:25had fumbling problems. This was his
9:27fourth NFL game ever.
9:29So, while there are reasons to believe
9:31that Charbonnet is going to get better
9:32over time, again, returning from this
9:34injury, I think there are reasons to
9:36believe that J'Darian Price, the
9:38first-round drafted running back where
9:39this was his first NFL I mean, fourth
9:41NFL game ever, will also continue to get
9:44better.
9:45Now, I am still going to be ranking them
9:47neck and neck cuz it's very difficult to
9:49figure out what the
9:51future usage going to be based on this
9:53one specific game,
9:55but I think I will be moving J'Darian
9:57Price above Zach Charbonnet in my
10:00rankings. Again, seeing that
10:03he was out there at the two-minute
10:04drill, he was out there at the goal
10:06line, he had more snaps, he had more
10:08touches, he had more targets. He pretty
10:10much had it all.
10:12I think at this point I would prefer
10:13Price.
10:15And then with the receiver, there's
10:16nothing to discuss.
10:18JSN's the wide receiver one in fantasy.
10:20Um for weeks now, we have had him as our
10:22second overall ranked player only behind
10:25Jahmyr Gibbs. That doesn't change after
10:27this game. He's incredible. You know
10:29that. Your mom knows that. Sam Darnold
10:31knows that. Everybody does.
10:34But again, the big takeaways that we
10:36have from this, at least in my opinion,
10:39we already knew D'Onta Foreman and
10:40Raheem Mostert were top 10 running backs
10:41with no Kyle Juszczyk. The concern is
10:43when Juszczyk comes back, we probably
10:45see those carries go down. So, uh very
10:48similar to that Jaylen Warren-Rico
10:49Dowdle situation we talked about
10:51previously. Luther Burden looks like
10:53again, he's going to be a must-start
10:54wide receiver every single week. I am
10:56still viewing him more so as the Taysom
10:59Hill-Gerald Everett range, the range of
11:01guys like um Garrett Wilson, Parker
11:04Washington, Jameson Williams, where
11:06they're going to have those big booms,
11:07but they're also going to have some
11:09duds. But, he is definitely raising his
11:11floor with this type of target volume.
11:13Roman Wilson is still just a borderline
11:15flex. Dalton Kincaid has cemented
11:17himself, as we talked about last week,
11:19as that top five tight end. Um both
11:22Kendre Miller and Zach Charbonnet, the
11:24usage is a little murky. It's tough to
11:25come away with some big conclusion after
11:27one game. But, I think I am a little
11:29more optimistic about Kendre Miller and
11:31Zach Charbonnet after this game than I
11:32was before. And with JSN, he's the best
11:35wide receiver in fantasy, which you
11:36already knew.
11:38But,
11:40I think that's all we have.
11:44But, I really appreciate y'all hanging
11:46out with us. I will, of course, be live
