1:57This is huge, guys. I do a lot of research.
2:00I want you guys to get the edge. Counselor's Edge.
2:03I've linked that below as well, okay? Get the edge.
2:06And also, my Patreon group. If you haven't joined Patreon, for starters and sits, waiver wire.
2:10So I get you guys covered. I get you guys to win.
2:13That's what I'm all about. Patreon as well below, all right?
2:17So let's dive into this. Let's go through the starts and sits.
2:20Each position is the full guide here. I am super excited.
2:23Let's dive in, okay? So at the quarterback position, who am I starting here?
2:27Look, let's look at the easy matchups here. Jackson Dart.
2:30Some people say, should I start Jackson Dart? Great matchup.
2:32Now, what you're seeing here, green. Green means go.
2:35Again, this algorithm is kicking in basically based on last year's defense.
2:38And as we get through the weeks, the algorithm is going to find the matchups.
2:42You know, it's really going to qualify the matchups based on how the defenses are doing to compare the matchups, okay?
2:48But as of right now, based on last year and kind of where we're trending based on the NFL draft, this is
2:54how good the defense is and how bad it is.
2:57So Jackson Dart here, Cam Ward. I know a lot of people aren't starting Cam Ward, but he does have a good matchup versus Jets.
3:04It's going to be really interesting to see how Cam Ward does because there's a lot of hype with him and Tate this year, including me.
3:12I actually have a lot of Carnell Tate, so I can't wait to see what happens there.
3:16We've got also Jalen Hurts. Great matchup. I got in my high stakes league versus Washington.
3:21We got Joe Burrow here. Now, I like Joe Burrow this week versus Tampa Bay.
3:25Great favorable matchup. Gino Smith. A lot of people asking if they should start Gino Smith over their starters.
3:30And here's what I tell people, man. Honestly, when you are doing your starters, start your starters.
3:35Like, I'm not going to sit, you know, Josh Allen regardless.
3:38We're going to get to the tough matchups here.
3:41You can see Josh Allen's got the third hardest matchup versus position.
3:44I'm not going to sit. I really am just not going to sit Josh Allen for Gino Smith regardless of how easy his matchup is.
3:51That being said, I don't see any reason why Gino Smith couldn't outperform Josh Allen this week.
3:56Anything can happen. But remember, you invested high draft capital in your players.
3:59Like, you drafted Josh Allen, what, second, third overall?
4:02Third round? So you want to utilize him, okay?
4:04Tua gets the nod here. He's starting for Atlanta in a good matchup versus Pittsburgh.
4:08Baker Mayfield's fresh off a contract. Good matchup. Dak Prescott, great matchup versus Giants.
4:12Kirk Cousins, Bryce Young, and Tyler Schuff. I like to call him Tyler Schuff.
4:16All great matchups versus position, guys. It's something you want to consider if you are starting him.
4:21Some of the mid-range matchups, obviously, you've got to start Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, must starts.
4:25And I do like Bo Nix, although he's kind of got a mid-range matchup here, as you can see, 13.
4:31So now who's got it in tough, just so you're aware?
4:34Jordan Love, Jacoby Brissett, Arizona, man. I mean, they've got it in tough versus the Chargers.
4:39We're going to see what Jeremiah Love is made out of.
4:42Now, I don't know if you guys heard yesterday in the news.
4:45Apparently, Jeremiah Love is second on the depth chart.
4:48I think that is total garbage. I don't believe that.
4:50I believe he's the starter. Algiers is the complement, but they do this stuff just to mess with you.
4:56That's what I believe, okay? Strout, Trevor Lawrence, Caleb Williams, Jared Goff, Drake May, Pat Mahomes, and Jaden Daniels, all tough matchups.
5:02That being said, if Drake May, who's playing Seattle, is your starting quarterback, how do you sit Drake May?
5:07Unless you've got a better option, that's up to you.
5:10So that gives you an idea of all of the tough matchups versus position, okay?
5:14And who's got it good. Let's move on to the running back, which is my favorite position.
5:19And again, I implore you, start your starter. Start the guys you invested early round draft capital, regardless of the match.
5:25Let's see how they do, guys. Let's see. All right?
5:27You invested draft capital. Get them. All right, Tony Pollard, great matchup.
5:31Bucky Irving versus Cincinnati, great matchup. Omari and Hampton, as you guys know, 16 rounders.
5:35I mean, listen, we got a lot of Omari and Hampton stock.
5:38We are expecting a major week this week because of the matchup and because Omari and Hampton is primed to have an amazing season.
5:45So I'm like super, super excited here about Omari and Hampton, man.
5:48Like, I love him. I love him. I love him this year.
5:52Saquon Barkley, great matchup. We got Javante, another guy that Council Nation invested a lot as part of the core four.
5:58Javante Williams versus the Giants, phenomenal matchup with literally no competition there for Javante.
6:02Love him. We got Cam Scadabo, great matchup as well.
6:04We got also David Montgomery. A lot of people drafted David Montgomery.
6:08He's part of my core four in one of my groups.
6:11Love the matchup versus Buffalo. Other guys, let's talk about the Ashton Gentry situation.
6:15Now, a lot of people obviously are going to start Ashton Gentry, second round ADP.
6:19Will Mike Washington be a factor? I want to make this, guys, very clear to you.
6:23Mike Washington has built up a case. Mike Washington had built up a case when he got drafted.
6:28And that's why I avoided Gentry is because I knew how good Mike Washington could be.
6:33So I was like, dude, I'm not drafting Mike Washington.
6:36I'm not drafting Gentry. I'm drafting Mike Washington later.
6:38And sure enough, he has a breakout. And sure enough, Gentry gets banged up.
6:42So I would not be surprised if we see a lot of Ashton Gentry getting that volume taken away by Mike Washington
6:48is what I'm trying to say here. Like, I think Gentry is going to get a lot taken away by Mike Washington.
6:54That's my prediction. So do you start Mike Washington?
6:57I would say probably not. Let's see how the first week goes.
7:00That being said, I would not be surprised if Mike Washington walks away for 12 to 15 points today.
7:05Just be aware of that, okay? And again, if you guys want my locks of the week, if you guys want to
7:12cash in, make sure you guys do join Underdog right now.
7:15Up to $1,000, guys. $1,000 cash bonus. So you can get up to that on new people signing up.
7:20That's exciting, man. And then you get to cash in.
7:23I'm going to give you guys my over-unders. I'm going to give you guys the picks against spread straight up.
7:28All in the counselor's edge. Why not cash in?
7:31Just use code LION when you are signing up to Underdog to get the perks, okay?
7:35Very, very, very important, all right? So back to it here.
7:38Let's see what other guys are favorable here. We got Ja'Kory Krosky-Mare.
7:42Great matchup. Devin Atchain. Great matchup. Again, I'm not in on Devin Atchain.
7:45I'm not in on this offense. So this is a true test.
7:49Is he going to do well? He's got a favorable matchup versus Las Vegas.
7:53Brees Hall. Great matchup here. We got Kyron Williams.
7:55We talked about this. I'm avoiding Kyron because Blake Korm is going to be a goal line vulture.
8:00So it's really going to be interesting to see on Thursday night because this game is going to be prime time.
8:06How much of Blake Korm we're going to see.
8:09I think we're going to see a ton of Blake Korm.
8:12I think he's going to be a thorn in Kyron Williams' side all season.
8:16So that's why I faded Kyron Williams, okay? Jalen Warren here.
8:19Again, I got no Jalen Warnstock. Apparently, he's slated as a starter.
8:22A bit of a disaster there. Running back, Jonathan Taylor, mid-range matchup.
8:25Chuba, Jonathan Brooks, both of them a little banged up.
8:28I think Brooks should be good to go. Again, maybe a flex play at best.
8:32Bashal Tootin, from what I hear, these guys are going to be in a situation where there's two RB1s.
8:38And this is what I was telling you. They didn't designate Tootin as the RB1, apparently, in the latest news because I'm not really sold on Tootin.
8:45I think he's in a great situation, but he's not elite.
8:48And I've been kind of hinting at that and mentioning that to my listeners.
8:52He is a recommendation as part of my core four, but I keep warning people he's not not elite.
8:57And again, same with Chase Brown. I think he's great.
9:00Great situation. I just don't think he's ultra elite.
9:03Jameer Gibbs, obviously a must start. Aaron Jones don't have much stock on.
9:06Marshawn Lloyd, do you start him? Again, mid-range matchup.
9:0912th hardest matchup versus position. But again, if you don't have a better option, Marshawn Lloyd is supposed to be starting this week.
9:15Okay? And then Stevenson. Tough matchup here versus Seattle.
9:18Do you start Stevenson? Listen, at the end of the day, man, there's no Travion Henderson.
9:22He's going to get some work. It is a tough matchup.
9:25I don't have Stevenson on my roster. I don't have to worry.
9:29But yeah, I mean, I think he's going to be viable.
9:3210, 15 point type floor type guy. Okay? This week.
9:35Quinshon Judkins, second hardest matchup versus position. Do you start him?
9:38Listen, he was a fifth round pick. Start him.
9:40Let's see how, let's roll him out. There's no competition there.
9:43Jadarian Price, a guy that I love. Absolutely love this week.
9:46And listen, I'm going to take the over here on underdog for Jadarian Price.
9:50And I believe it's like 59. I got to go back and check on that.
9:54But it is, I think 59 is the over.
9:57I'm going to pull it up here for you.
9:59Listen, if you guys want to take the over and ride with me, Jadarian Price, it is a tough matchup versus position, but there's no competition.
10:07I love Jadarian Price. Prime time. Season opener. He was a first round pick.
10:11No Charbonne. He's going to get all the work.
10:13Take him, guys, with me today. Today on underdog right now.
10:16Let's cash in on this. This is my best prediction.
10:19I am taking the over for Jadarian Price. I'm going to put it right here, guys.
10:23Take a look at the line. Take a look at that number.
10:27I am taking the over on underdog. If you guys want to get in on this, use code lion.
10:32Let's get in. Sign up on underdog. Let's go.
10:35I'm taking that over for Jadarian Price this week.
10:37I understand it's a tough matchup. I get it.
10:40But look at this, man. There's nobody else there.
10:42I don't believe Helani is going to be a factor.
10:45Kenneth Walker, tough matchup. Fourth hardest first position. But again, you've got to start him.
10:49Jeremiah Love and Algier. This is really going to be interesting to see how they do.
10:54They do have a tough matchup to boot. So it's kind of a worst case scenario.
10:58Jeremiah Love coming off injury. First game in the NFL.
11:01They slated Algier as a starter. And then now you've got him at the sixth hardest matchup first position.
11:06I mean, if you have a safer option, do it.
11:09But Jeremiah Love was a second round pick. You've got to start him.
11:13Okay? James Cook, tough matchup. I still think he goes over.
11:16I think it's about 75 on underdog. I'm taking the over there as well.
11:20Ride with me on that for James Cook on the over as well.
11:23So you can parlay those two. That'd be awesome.
11:26Could work out for you. Okay? And then Christian McCaffrey.
11:28Obviously, you've got to start him. I think he might take the under this week on his rushing yards.
11:34Okay? Let's move on to wide receiver here. Starts and sits at the wide receiver position.
11:38Again, if you guys want direct access, join the Patreon group right now.
11:42And I've got a starts and sits post. You can go in and drop your question and we're going to rock out.
11:48I'm going to get to the – I answer all the questions there.
11:52Okay? So let's move on to here, here, to wide receiver.
11:55Let's filter by optimal matchups. We've got Malik Neighbors.
11:57Now, a lot of people say, should I start Malik Neighbors?
12:00Listen, you drafted him in the third round. You've got to start him.
12:04But obviously, that knee is going to be a concern all season.
12:07That's why I stashed fields, avoided Neighbors. Let me know what you guys did in the comments.
12:12Again, I want to make this interactive, guys. How would you guys do?
12:16Chris Olave is obviously a must-start. Minimal competition. Great matchup.
12:18Let's go through the great matchups here. Tett McMillan, great matchup.
12:21Garrett Wilson, great matchup. And again, if you drafted these guys, I mean, you have to start them.
12:27Alec Pierce, he's good to go. In a great matchup versus Baltimore versus position.
12:30Now, I believe Keenan Allen will be a pest.
12:33I don't know if he's playing. I don't know if the suspension is looming.
12:37I think I'll check into that. I didn't look into Keenan.
12:40I've got no Keenan Allen stock, but I think he'd be suspended.
12:43Should be looming. Devontae Smith, man. Obviously, a must-start here.
12:46We're going to be interested to see what Makai Lemon, the first-round pick, does this week.
12:51It's going to be interesting. But they do have great matchups.
12:54That's going to favor them. We've got other guys.
12:56Take a look here. Baltimore receivers, great matchup. Drake London, great matchup.
12:59If you're interested, Zachariah Branch is a stash. He does have some crappy competition ahead of him, which I think he could surpass.
13:06I think he'll be on the field a lot.
13:08Zachariah Branch here. I mean, Zoukias and Dotson, not really a concern.
13:12We've got DK Metcalf, great matchup. Him and Pittman, great matchup versus Atlanta.
13:15Other guys here, Cee Lamb and George Pickens. I talked about how I faded George Pickens a lot.
13:20And, you know, there's a third-round pick. I'm just like, dude, I'm not doing it.
13:25This is the tech. This is a game I'll be watching heavily to see who the wide receiver one is here with Cee Lamb Pickens.
13:32Who does Dak Prescott target? They've got a good matchup to get that test, you know, configured this week.
13:37Okay? Mike Evans, Deshaun Striebling. Really interesting to see what's going to happen with this wide receiver committee.
13:42Mike Evans dealing with those nagging injuries in the office.
13:45And is he going to emerge? Great matchup. We'll see how he does.
13:48Okay? The crazy disaster that is the wide receivers in Miami.
13:51All really solid matchups versus Vegas. So, we're going to see how they all pan out.
13:56But I wouldn't be surprised if Malik steps up.
13:58Maybe Chris Bell. Interesting to see another situation to watch.
14:01Jefferson, obviously a must start. Puka, a must start.
14:04Obviously, they've got the suspension looming there. We've got, you know, here we go.
14:08Carnell Tate, mid-range matchup. I'm still going to start my Tate.
14:11Jamar Chase, a must start. Mid-range matchup. Lad McConkie, a must start.
14:14Obviously, here you can see the orange, the yellow is the mid-range matchup.
14:18Let's go to some tough matchups here. We've got Christian Watson.
14:21I like Matthew Golden, but I'm going to bench him this week to see how week one goes.
14:26It is a tough matchup versus Minnesota. I don't like Christian Watson.
14:29If you've got him, you've got to start him.
14:32But I don't like him. Rashi Rice entering a tough matchup versus Denver.
14:35As you can see here, we've got A.J. Brown.
14:38Tough matchup. Obviously, if you draft him in the second round, you've got to start him there versus Seattle.
14:43Terry McLaurin, fourth hardest matchup versus position. And I'm telling you this, guys, because if you guys are torn on starts and
14:49sits decisions and you're like, okay, like, Rashi Rice has a tough matchup.
14:53Do I have somebody better? Then start the better person who's got a better matchup, maybe.
14:57It's up to you guys to make a decision.
15:00But I'm telling you, based on the toughness of matchup, should you start him and then making my recommendations.
15:05Okay. This is very, very important that you take in consideration how tough the matchup is.
15:10But that being said, DJ Moore, fifth hardest matchup versus position, fifth to sixth round pick.
15:14You got to start. I'm still starting my starters.
15:17Do you understand that, guys? Regardless of the matchup, but it's just giving you options on should I or should I not.
15:23Marvin Harrison Jr., sixth hardest matchup versus position. Waddle, seventh hardest matchup versus position versus KC.
15:27Emeka, eighth hardest matchup. I'm still starting Emeka. Like, I'm not going to let the matchup affect him sitting, right?
15:33Like, I'm not going to sit him because of that, okay?
15:36We also got, let's go over here, Luther Burton.
15:38I'm still going to start him if I got him, right?
15:41Tenth hardest matchup versus position. And then Brian Thomas and Parker Washington, 11th hardest matchup versus position.
15:46Still going to start him, right? Let's move on to tight end.
15:49Listen, with tight end, I'm going to keep talking about this.
15:53I mean, that's not like a broken record. Start your starter.
15:56Start the tight end that you drafted, high draft capital in, and start him, okay?
16:00Kate Auden, great matchup, though. Dallas Goddard, I know a lot of people have him on their roster.
16:05He's primed for a good season. Start him. Gattison, great matchup.
16:08Start him. Kyle Pitts, start him. Who else? Brock Bowers, obviously, great matchup versus Miami, which you got to start him regardless.
16:14Mark Andrews, a bit of a sleeper this year.
16:17Now, I've got a lot of Mark Andrews stock on the bench.
16:20I may start him this week. I like the matchup versus Indy, so that's something to consider.
16:25We got the Rams tight ends. We're not sure who's going to emerge here.
16:29It's going to be a disaster, so be careful there.
16:31We got Sadiq. Now, am I starting Sadiq? I'm high on Sadiq.
16:35I'm torn. That's one of the Mark Andrews, Sadiq questions I have.
16:38They both got good matchups. He's ready to go week one.
16:41It's going to be interesting to see if the Jets utilize him.
16:44There's a lot of uncertainty around that position, but I would say if you don't have a better option, start him.
16:50Harold Fannin, start him. Again, good matchups here. Juwan Johnson, start.
16:53All of these guys have mid-range matchups. AJ Barner, Travis Kelsey, Brenton Strange, George Kittle, all mid-range matchups.
16:58Who's got it in tough? Chico Gongua's got it in tough.
17:01Dalton Schultz got it in tough. Pat Fryer, based on matchup, Dulcich, Ingram, Tucker Craft, and Tyler Warren got it in eighth
17:08hardest matchup for his position on paper, but you're still going to start Tyler Warren, okay?
17:12You're still going to start whoever else you got that you drafted.
17:15If Dulcich is your tight end one, start him.
17:18Roll him out. Don't be afraid to start these guys on week one, all right?
17:22Let's go to the defense here. Let's wrap it up.
17:25Before I do, again, I implore you guys, if you want to get direct access to me, join the all-access war room right now.
17:32I've linked it below. Patreon supports the channel. It really helps us out.
17:35And then also, guys, if you want my picks, the Counselor's Edge, you get them below.
17:40Also at thefantasyfootballaccounts.com. All my picks laid out to you every week against the spread straight up, and my five locks of the week on player props.
17:47Let's win together, okay? And you guys can win by creating an account on underdog using code LION, all right?
17:53Now, let's go here. Let's wrap this up here with the defense.
17:56Let's go with the hardest matchup. Just be careful.
17:59Bears, Panthers, Packers, Giants have it in tough a little bit based on position.
18:03We want to focus really on who's got a good matchup versus position.
18:06I think KC, Bengals, Falcons, Browns, Buccaneers, Cowboys, all pretty favorable matchups versus position here.
18:10But if you do have the Texans defense, they're here versus Buffalo.
18:14As you can see, they're the 11th hardest versus position.
18:17That being said, if you have a better defense, right?
18:19Or you want to stream a better defense, like do it.
18:22They are playing Buffalo. Like they're a great defense, but they are playing Buffalo.
18:26You have to be aware of that. Okay. Now, listen, Jacksonville.
18:29This is where I think the algorithm has kind of led us astray.
18:33Okay. They are playing Cleveland. Okay. This is kind of based on Lazer.
18:37The outcome is figuring themselves out. I think Jacksonville is a pretty good matchup versus Cleveland.
18:41We don't know what Cleveland is going to do.
18:44So when it comes to defense, this is where this, this format is still trying to figure it out.
18:49Okay. With, with the offensive matchups and the other players is pretty good, but I think Jacksonville could be a good matchup.
18:55This is why I'm navigating this. I'm, I'm going over it as an extra pair of eyes here to, to filter this.
19:01You know, I think the Packers could be good against Minnesota.
19:04We're not sure what they're going to do here.
19:07Obviously the Arizona Cardinals, this makes sense. That's a tough matchup.
19:10You don't want to start the Cardinals versus the Chargers.
19:13I think that's a disaster. You don't want to, you know, the giants versus Dallas, but I think there's just this one diamond in the rough.
19:20You're Jacksonville and Cleveland. That being said, you know, Cleveland come out and blow out Jacksonville.
19:24The algorithm was right. So again, take a look at this guys.
19:28I mean, Patriots could be good, but I think Seattle puts up some point.
19:32That's why it's a mid range matchup. I think the Rams might be worth a start, but you know, mid range based on last year.
19:39Cause San Fran can put up points. So it's up to you guys to make a decision here when it comes to defenses.
19:45But my advice is if you drafted a top 10 defense, start your top 10 defense.
19:50That's what you drafted them for, right? The Rams should have put up a lot of points.
19:54That's a high octane offense, right? Jacksonville was a top 10 defense, you know, Eagles Texans.
19:59I think they're all good defenses unless you want to stream one that you feel is a better defense to start.
20:05Okay. That's all I got for you, man. Like go out.
20:08I mean, go back, watch this, take a look at the optimal matchups again, drop a question.
