NegativeMatchupOct 29, 2026
The Chargers rank 24th in half PPR points allowed to tight ends at 8.8 per game, presenting a stingy test for Higbee. Los Angeles holds a top-three neutral pass rate at 63% through seven weeks, which gives the passing offense steady baseline dropbacks even in neutral scripts. The Chargers have suppressed tight end rooms consistently, with Dalton Kincaid held to 2.8 half PPR points in Week 3 and Travis Kelce managing 7.3 points in Week 6. The Rams enter as 6.5-point home favorites with an implied team total of 25.5 points (seventh).
PositiveUsageOct 29, 2026
Higbee has settled back into a low-volume role, ranking as the TE21 on TE22 usage over his last four games. After generating 67 and 83 receiving yards in Weeks 4 and 5, his opportunities slipped to four and three targets over his past two outings. He has averaged 46.5 receiving yards and 6.1 half PPR points per game across this four-game stretch, finishing with a modest 11% target share in Week 7. The Rams continue to funnel passes heavily toward their wide receivers, leaving Higbee with minimal underneath work.
PositiveRoleOct 23, 2026
Higbee was going to be a recommended start even before Puka Nacua popped up with a calf injury on Thursday. While there's optimism the Rams' star wideout will be able to play, Higbee is still a strong option since Davante Adams and Terrance Ferguson are already sidelined. Despite a quieter outing in Week 6, Higbee was on a roll in the previous three contests with 62 yards and a TD in Week 3 (TE7), 67 yards in Week 4 (TE14) and 83 yards in Week 5 (TE10). The Raiders are giving up the seventh most fantasy points to tight ends. If Puka plays, Higbee will be a top-10 option. But if Puka is ruled out, Higbee has top-five upside.
PositiveProjectionOct 22, 2026
Higbee has been the TE10 on TE9 usage over the last month with Terrance Ferguson sidelined. Even last week's relative dud still included 31 of 38 routes and four receptions. That, of course, was with Puka Nacua and Davante Adams healthy. Adams is out for about 10 weeks (aka the regular season), and Ferguson isn't eligible to return from his ankle injury until Week 8 at the very earliest. This will be an excellent week for Higbee on paper. He had his best game of the year in Week 3 (TE7 on TE3 usage) without Nacua and Ferguson. The Raiders have also had issues against TEs, allowing the sixth-most points to the position. As usual, the Rams have a high team total (26.5, fourth) with very little depth at WR. It's a great environment for him.
NegativeUsageOct 19, 2026
Higbee led Rams tight ends with 48 snaps (83% of plays) on Sunday but the tight end group combined for nine catches on 10 targets with 53 yards, one touchdown, and a critical lost fumble by Higbee. Despite being expected to take a step back this season, Higbee's 246 yards through Week 7 eclipse the combined total of all four other Rams tight ends (181 yards). The source notes this is a poor return on the Rams' significant investment in tight end development.
PositiveProjectionOct 15, 2026
Tyler Higbee is having an emphatic renaissance in Year 11 with the Rams. As measured by per-game averages, Higbee was sneakily the Rams' most productive tight end last season despite playing only 10 games due to an ankle injury, producing 25 catches for 281 yards and three touchdowns. That pace would have led the room in receiving yards over Parkinson, the actual leader with 408, had Higbee stayed healthy. Higbee is moving fluidly and looks athletic and almost young, with four seasons of at least 500 receiving yards in his career.
PositiveRoleOct 14, 2026
Higbee is TE5 on TE6 usage over the past three weeks as a Terrance Ferguson injury replacement. He ripped a couple of intermediate explosives on Monday Night Football and is a clear-cut top-four target for Matthew Stafford until Ferguson returns. The Rams have a slate-high 33.0-point team total against the Cardinals, who have allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to tight ends this year, including 23.2 points to George Kittle in Week 3, 11 targets to Isaiah Likely in Week 4, and 17.3 points to Sam LaPorta in Week 5. Higbee posted 91 yards with a score against Arizona in Week 18 last year.
PositiveUsageOct 6, 2026
Tyler Higbee was re-signed to a two-year deal in 2026 and has quietly become an important part of the Rams' passing game. Through four games, Higbee has 15 receptions for 141 yards and one touchdown on 19 targets; his 15 catches rank third on the team, while his 19 targets trail only Davante Adams among Rams pass catchers. His ability to consistently work underneath coverage and move the chains gives Matthew Stafford another reliable option, particularly important with injuries and changes at skill positions. Higbee also passed Tom Fears (400) for seventh on the franchise's all-time receptions list and Marshall Faulk (4,071) for 13th-most receiving yards in franchise history.
PositiveMatchupOct 2, 2026
Higbee is part of the Rams' three tight end sets that exploit the Eagles' defensive vulnerabilities, particularly down the middle where linebacker Jihaad Campbell is struggling with assignment recognition. Higbee, Terrance Ferguson, and Davis Allen have combined for 21 receptions, 4 touchdowns, and 176 yards. Fangio noted the Rams' tight ends are "pretty good receivers" and create extra gaps with their blocking, and the Rams are "committed to it and they're good at it." The Eagles may be without middle linebacker Zack Baun due to concussion protocol, further exposing the middle of the field.
