J.K. Dobbins

PositiveBreakout0:00

BDGE Fantasy Football projects J.K. Dobbins as a breakout candidate, comparing his outlook to Javonte Williams' past role as a clear early-down starter in a high-scoring offense. Dobbins showed high efficiency last year, ranking 7th in explosive rate, 7th in true yards per carry, and 16th in juke rate over 10 games, while logging 14+ carries in nine of those contests. Despite injury concerns, the source highlights his path to significant touchdown opportunities behind one of the NFL's better offensive lines.

Javonte Williams

NegativeRole0:04

The source uses Javonte Williams as a historical benchmark for the role J.K. Dobbins is expected to fill. Williams is described as having dominated his backfield due to a lack of competition and a high-scoring offense, which allowed him to consistently produce touchdowns despite initial uncertainty regarding his health following a serious leg injury.

0:00Dobbins is this year's Javonte Williams.
0:02You look at the offensive setups. Last
0:04year, Javonte Williams went in to Dallas
0:07and we really weren't sure what to
0:08expect. Is one guy going to take the
0:09lead? And then Javonte Williams just
0:11took the lead and because the offense
0:13was so successful and they scored so
0:15many points, Javonte Williams just
0:16pretty much backed into a touchdown
0:18almost every week and dominated the
0:20backfield cuz he had no competition back
0:22there. Now, this is probably a lighter
0:24version of that, but when you look at
0:25the situation for Denver objectively,
0:28you look at one of the better offenses
0:30in the NFL for sure, right? You have
0:31already a pretty good offense and then
0:33you add Jaylen Waddle to the mix. They
0:34have one of if not the best offensive
0:36line in the NFL. Sean Payton, offensive
0:38schemer, great mind, obviously. And
0:41sure, you could talk about J.K. Dobbins'
0:42injury history, but you could also say
0:44the same thing for Javonte Williams.
0:45Like we weren't sure Javonte Williams
0:46was going to be able to stay healthy
0:48after that serious leg injury early on.
0:50Dobbins was legitimately very good for
0:52the Denver Broncos last year. He played
0:5310 games. In nine of those 10 games, he
0:56had 14 or more carries. And what makes
0:58me excited is he was very good on the
1:00early down carries he got last year.
1:02Number seven in explosive rate, number
1:03seven in true yards per carry, number 16
1:05in juke rate. He's going to be the clear
1:08early down starter here in Denver behind
1:09one of the better offensive lines in the
1:11NFL. Dobbins is this year's Javonte
1:13Williams, clear as day. Being in this
1:14offense, great offense, great line, like
1:16I think again, he's just going to have a
1:18ton of touchdown scoring opportunities
1:20for being in the right place at the
1:21right time.
