0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and YouTube channel. My name is Pat Karine. You can follow all of my content at legendaryupsside.com.
0:09Today is the Top Guy Tuesday mailbag.
0:12I'm going to be answering questions from the Legendary Upside Discord and from the chat as I draft a best baseball team
0:21here in the best ball millionaire tournament over on DraftKings by selecting the top recommendation on a sidekick in every round. So, if you got
0:30questions, if you're in the chat, throw them uh in there and let's let's get talking. Uh we've got some questions from the leg of Discord that I'll get to
0:39as well. Uh Ricardo asking, "How are peptides being factored into the Sims?"
0:46Uh this is a a Chris Bell question. We have come up on Chris Bell. I'm seeing Chris Bell uh a good amount now. Not a
0:54guy that I thought would have a huge impact this season because of a late season ACL tear, him being a rookie that
1:01has the potential to really derail uh his rookie season and create kind of a red shirt year like we saw from
1:08Jameson Williams. That was my expectations uh for a while, but things have trended in the in a positive direction now more recently and then
1:17very positive uh over the last week or so. So, he is a guy that I'm now starting to take. He's a guy I would
1:23have taken probably more of early. Like we would have been a lot more interested in Chris Bell, I think on probably 31
1:31other depth charts. You know, it's really less about the depth chart obviously than uh the wide receiver room depth chart, I mean, than that he's on
1:39the Dolphins offense, right? It there's immediate opportunity, which is cool, but the dropbacks for this team could be really low even if they are somewhat
1:48effective and they might be really ineffective. There was a story today that the offense was just an absolute
1:57atrocity and apparently Malik Willis tried to give the team a pep talk and that didn't help was the report. So you
2:05know Chris Bell could end up being pretty good and ultimately uh you know if he weren't very healthy just not be a good baseball pick. But
2:14given that he does look like he's made a very quick recovery and will play a good amount of games this year, uh I think he
2:21is someone you can you can be taking in the final rounds and the sidekick backs that up. Um would you rather do six FFPC
2:28big gorillas or one main event draft? AJ Moon asks, "I would rather do one main event draft personally because you got
2:35to manage those leagues. Six big gorillas is a lot of management. It's a lot of time. I don't really have that
2:43much time in season. So, for me, it's one main event. Uh, big gorillas can get a little little shaky.
2:52You know, they're kind of like Dynasty Leagues where it's like it's always fun to draft another one, but you're signing up for some management. Uh, Dynasty
2:59obviously even more so. Um, on a 1 to 10 scale, how are you feeling about your tank dell bags? Is there any hope for
3:06them? I'd say like a two plus I'm joking about it enough to get me up to three.
3:12Uh but pretty bad on Tank Dell. I think the Tank Dell stuff I I feel like it was trending in a really positive direction
3:22and I don't think we were misreading that. Maybe we were to an extent. I think what we're probably doing is potentially
3:29taking the positive news and then not factoring in enough that it could always flip because of how serious the injury was. It does seem like maybe he had some
3:38kind of bump in the road or setback or something, whether that be swelling or whatever else. I don't know. I'm just
3:43guessing. But it does seem like something happened. He hasn't been practicing. You know, them trading for booty is is more about Higgins, I think,
3:51than Dell, but it's certainly not good for Dell. it doesn't, you know, it's like he wasn't the next guy up clearly
3:58and might not um he might not play much this year ultimately is kind of how things look to be trending now. I think
4:06he does play some, but I'm done drafting him. You know, I'm not going to be drafting him anymore. Uh if if it ends
4:13up working out, awesome. If it doesn't end up working out, you know, he was never that expensive. I think I can get
4:19by with with him on some teams. like I don't think he kills teams. He certainly does not help. We want to avoid zeros. I
4:27think we've done a really good job this summer at Legup of avoiding zeros, but he is one that is starting to look like
4:33a zero that we did eat, which is which sucks. So, we'll see. I'm hopeful that that that's not the case, but uh I'm not
4:41I don't have any more appetite currently really for Dell. um you know maybe in the 20th round or something maybe but by and large uh I'm
4:52not looking to add to that position and if he ends up perform the nice thing about Dell is he he was priced at a
4:59level where if he has like a nice sixgame run to close the season that'd be pretty awesome at price so I I don't
5:07think I'm dead to recoup any value on it but he's certainly not going to be smash and uh probably not going to be a guy
5:15you want on your team and I'm not adding to that position at this point. So, I'd say like a three in part because I've
5:22I've I've made some some jokes to help myself feel better. Um, let's see.
5:30Yeah. So, Magnova asked the question on FFPC whether that's affected by me having to do the waiverss. It very much is. Um, how do you approach injury
5:38situations like Genti? I hopped in a few BBMs to try and get a really cheap share but wasn't able to. seems like it was
5:45the right play, but could have easily been a $25 donation considering the reporting. Also grabbed an 18th round James Connor since he's a clear trade
5:52target for running back needy team. That was I I like your your thinking there to get James Connor. Um that that seems
5:59that was a kind of a smart pivot. Not one that I was IKBing to, but um and we didn't directly change Connor in part
6:07because we weren't sure what the Genty injury was, but I think that's that's an interesting way to play it. Um, on
6:12Genty, we never removed him from the ranks or anything. We dropped him down into the 70s or so. Uh, that was
6:20probably a little too low. Um, you know, I know some guys were taking him in the 40s, which feels which looks awesome.
6:27Now, I saw there's at least one main event share where he went at the 801, which is pretty awesome. It's going to
6:33be a good main event team. Um, so I didn't I wasn't in fast when that news broke really. Um, and then the fasts I
6:42did get in later were um, kind of post it. It doesn't look like the worst case scenario situation. So, I don't have any
6:51super cheap Genty. I did get them in a BBM that I did earlier today at the 302.
6:56I had to start with um, with it was Puka, Neighbors, and Genty, which ended up being a really fun team. So,
7:05you know, that's nice. We'll see if if that $25 team can can take it down. But uh don't have anything crazy. I also
7:14don't have anything crazy on Mike Washington. Like I think the earliest I took Washington on Sunday in my slows was probably in the 130s. Um and I feel
7:23fine about that. He was a guy who's fading pretty hard. Uh I don't think he's very good, but the preseason stuff
7:29has made me think maybe he is a little bit better than I was thinking. So I wanted to get a little bit more Mike
7:32Washington anyway. So, even with the Genty stuff not being that serious and Washington probably not being as clear-cut a target as I made him in
7:42those those drafts on Sunday, I I don't regret having a little bit more Washington in the portfolio. So, didn't myself didn't get any of the crazy
7:50awesome Jensy Prices. Um, but I think trying to get something where, you know, you could what I was trying to do is
7:57figure out where can I eat like half a season lost without it killing the team.
8:03Um, that's sort of how I was trying to think through it. And obviously then you have the potential for him to be back
8:09for the whole season, which that team's even with a seventh round pick or something on him or sixth round pick probably dead. But,
8:18you know, maybe not. And also you have the potential to get through with uh a guy who almost no one else is going to
8:28get through with um right from the from the vast majority of the tournament. So he'd be really lowowned if you were able
8:35to get him to the final. Um and so yeah, that that's where I was thinking I would draft him, but ultimately didn't end up
8:42getting uh him in any drafts.
8:46Um, it was funny. Some of the drafts I jumped that he would just go right at the one two turn stills. So, it was it
8:52was a chaotic day for sure. Uh, we're three rounds through this draft. We've got Justin Jefferson, AJ Brown, and
9:01Jeremiah Love.
9:04Uh, just clicking the top selection as I'll continue to do. All right. What's up, chat? Some good questions popping in here. Uh, I'm going to answer
9:15just a couple more from the Discord first. Uh, let me get my pick in and then I'll do that. So, let's see. ETN or Waddle.
9:24Looks like the next pick we got here.
9:28And ETN's at the top of the sidekick. Ibuka goes. So, let me just make sure. Yep, it'll be ETN as the second running back.
9:38Now got Jeremiah Love ETN, Justin Jefferson, and AJ Brown.
9:44All right, so Trudeon asks, um, "Is someone is is someone who has been drafting since pre-draft, does this iteration of the board feel worse to
9:53draft?" I personally feel like every team I've drafted over the past couple weeks is worse than most of the ones that came prior. I you know I don't feel
10:00that way personally but I think it might be just like I'm enjoying things feeling a little different. It did it's it
10:10always feels this way I think in kind of June through the middle of July cuz because I always kind of forget how late
10:18the training camp stuff really starts to impact ADPs. It's not immediately and you know training camp isn't until like the end of July. Um there's like that
10:29that like July July like 18th you think in your head, you know, when you're in May, you're like, "Oh yeah, like middle
10:36of July things are really going to start going." And like not really, you know, it's it's a little bit it's like a week
10:41or 10 days later when things really start to to come flying in. And there is this period where you just feel like
10:48you're drafting the same guys over and over and like a lot of the same structures this year. And so now that a
10:56lot of things have changed and there is like some real chaos as far as you know how we're handling various injuries and
11:02stuff I'm finding kind of some like you know you get a falling scaboo in the fifth round.
11:11I'm ending up with teams I'm like, "Oh, I haven't taken this guy here." You know, that that's new. And, you know,
11:18you're starting to see some some ADP shifts. And, you know, here's Parker Washington just going at the 408, for example. You know, uh Jameson Williams
11:26just went at the 406. just things are just getting a little bit less predictable in in these draft rooms, which yeah, there's c definitely drafts
11:35that I come out of, I'm like, okay, not my best, you know, not not terrible maybe, but not a team I'm going to be
11:42posting anywhere, but um I do I you know, I literally just sent a team I drafted that that um that Genty team I
11:51just like sent over to the rankings guys because I was like this team's pretty fun, you know, and so yeah, I am getting
11:57some of those teams. Uh, and I I'm enjoying right now the little bit of different roster constructions as well.
12:04So, uh, you know, obviously there's going to be teams that you don't have access to now, but there might be teams
12:12that we're getting now that are the absolute nuts, you know, like like Scatteraboo in the fifth round again, like that that that might be way way too cheap,
12:23right? So, some of these some of these guys who are fallers um could really be the key to the season and uh yeah, I I think I'm enjoying
12:33drafting right now quite a bit actually.
12:36Uh but, you know, I think it's just kind of a personal thing. Omar Cooper Cope at this price, what does he need to do to
12:43pay off? Does the Tony or Cory Coleman rookie season do it? The market seemed to react bearish. We know did play with
12:49the starters out of the slot in the last preseason. uh he doesn't need to do much at all. I mean, he needs to score some
12:55touchdowns. He needs to get on the field and have like a week late in the season that matters or a couple weeks
13:02throughout the season like you know like Z Jones had a couple cool games as a as an 18th round guy and was
13:11like one of the late round wide receivers that year that that year he signed with the Jaguars. It's like oh man what a smash. It's like he didn't
13:19score that many points. He was fine. You know, it's it's just the price on Cooper now. He has a very low bar for what he
13:26has to do. He's already passed Isaiah Williams. He's a first round pick. He's going to play a bunch this year. I don't
13:33know if he's good, but the market doesn't know if he's good either. No one No one really can know if he's good
13:39until we see it. And he might be pretty good. So, he's he's an obvious target if you're playing baseball, you know, if
13:46you're planning to play baseball for like more than a year. You know, I just think like he is archetyp archetypically or typically he's just a smash. This you
13:57you should not be getting a round one wide receiver in the final rounds of drafts, especially one who's going to be
14:02starting in the slot to open the season.
14:04You know, he's not even buried. I know he's on the Jets, but it's kind of ridiculous.
14:10Uh are we feeling confident that Neighbors is going to play from week one? It was a little odd when Harbaugh said the joint practice wasn't a
14:15controlled environment for him. It does look like he's going to play at this point, week one. I don't think it's a a
14:19total total lock, but I would I would bet money that he does play week one at this point. Um, and I think he, you
14:27know, another guy that uh has had a faster recovery than we thought he would, you know, initially um because the reporting from people close to the
14:38team was was a lot more bearish than it ended up looking like later. So, uh, yeah, I am pretty pretty in on neighbors
14:46at this point, especially in the late second. We're still getting neighbors in the late second. I think you take that all day. All right, let me get to the
14:53chat here.
14:55Covers the questions people threw in the Discord for now. Although, I do see did see some typing. Look at this. Fifth
15:02round Mike Evans or sixth round Mike Evans. Uh, yeah, that could work. Could also not work. Keeps getting banged up in practice. Uh, I don't know if people
15:12talk people don't really talk about this, but the 49ers play near a substation and I'm starting to wonder if that's having an effect on their
15:18players. They kind of have a lot of injuries. Uh, people should discuss this, I think. Uh, is Walker injury injured or was just a rest day? I did
15:27see he was done practicing. Um, I don't believe there was a a major injury there, but that happened just before I
15:34jumped on. Does the booty trade help or hurt Nico? I think it could help. I think it could allow them to move Nico
15:42around a little bit. I don't think Booty is a particularly threatening wide receiver as far as like a target earner.
15:47He's a downfield guy. He doesn't really separate. Uh, you know, I think he's probably helping the Texans meet like the minimum like bar they need to clear
15:58before it just starts to look like last year where they they can't really move the ball. They have a really low implied
16:03point total.
16:05You know, I just you want them to be like effective enough. So, I think it probably helps Nico to bring in Booty.
16:12There's 0% that Booty is going to challenge him as the number one guy, right? Which you would expect for for a
16:18late addition, but I don't know if that's true of Diggs and McLaren, right?
16:23Like there are going to be games this year where Diggs is out tarding McLaren and and not just like one. So, you know,
16:31I think a guy like Booty, Nico's going to be up and down enough in his targets. Sure, Booty will out target
16:37him occasionally, but by and large, it's going to be Nico. And Nico, when Nico out targets Booty, it's often going to
16:43be by a lot. So, I think it probably helps him. I don't think it really hurts him. Uh, you know, there was a little bit of a
16:52chance that Higgins at least ate into Nico's target share in a way. I just think Booty Booty will not.
16:58Uh, let's see. Yo, Patty Ice checking in from Denver International Airport going for 100 flights this year. Damn, dude.
17:08Gretch had TFR in his 2027 Titan premium look ahead. Uh, I don't know what you mean. Is that with what round are you
17:16saying he was in? How you feeling about that? I'm not quite sure what you mean.
17:19Um, but I assume you're saying Gretch liked him and was looking at him as like a 2027 target. I know he and he and Shawn
17:28do the thing where they like reddraft the top two rounds. Um, so assuming that Gretch is bullish on Ferguson, uh, and
17:37that he's thinking about him as a target even next year, I think that makes sense. Adams is probably gone next year.
17:44And if Ferguson breaks out, he will be like a clear target next year as long as that breakout is, you know, on
17:52sufficient playing time. even if it's not, right? And then Adams leaves, but he was really efficient in on like 65% round participation. Then you get to
18:00project him into a bigger role and is like a secondary potential breakout guy, the number two target in the Rams offense. I think he's like a pretty it's
18:09pretty easy.
18:11Like I am skeptical of Ferguson's to to a degree for sure. Uh I'm not I'm not like fully out though. if he was going
18:20in the final rounds like he used to. At this point, I've seen enough that I'd be in. The market is moved him up enough
18:26that I'm not really drafting him a ton.
18:28Uh but if it works, it's going to work, right? Like if he is the clear number three based, you know, functionally the
18:36starting tight end, even if he's more like an Isaiah likely type of route participation, but he's getting targeted a really high rate. um and he's he's
18:45producing after the catch and you know he gets targeted downfield and then Adams leaves like yeah that sounds pretty cool and and a guy would target
18:54next year I think the floor is low for where he'll be targeted next year though um
19:03I you know if it doesn't happen then you're not going to be looking at him as this big breakout candidate next
19:10year I don't think it's a little bit you know He's probably going to get the opportunity to to prove he's like a
19:18high-end passcatching weapon at the tight end position this year and we'll see if he is.
19:25Is there a player you've generally been fading that you feel queasy about?
19:29Neighbors has been that guy where I didn't have enough. Uh I was at like 7% when he was cheap, so it wasn't a hard
19:35fade, but I didn't really have him in the high stakes stuff. And so Neighbors has been someone I've definitely made sure to get some of. The answer kind of
19:44now and forever is is going to be Colston Loveland. I think uh where I still don't have much Colston Lovel just
19:51doesn't sim very well for us. Um, and you know, we're trying kind of the thing with The Sims is like you're trying to
19:57put together the puzzle of this season.
20:00And you know, it's not that like when you're ranked. I've been trying to think through this. Maybe I should have Shady on for this since he's
20:09the DFS master, but I mean trying to think through it like with DFS, you know, you look at a guy and the
20:17projection versus the salary. And it's like this guy's a good play because of his ability to score points versus what you got to pay to put him in your
20:27lineup. And I think from that perspective, Coulson Lovelin is a pretty solid play. But then when you go and you actually build out DFS lineups, which I
20:36now use a SIM based process for that, that factors in a lot more than just like, you know, point per dollar,
20:45ceiling per dollar, whatever you want to do. um it factors in quite a bit more than that and kind of goes to what the
20:53lineups look like with that player versus what you know how you can win with other types of lineups. And I think something is happening to an
21:03extent there with Lovelin just sort of how he fits relative to Bowers and McBride and then how he fits relative to
21:08Warren and the rest of the tight end position just isn't really popping. And it also probably, you know, a good amount to do with what you can do in the
21:16fourth and fifth round that's not tight end, etc., etc. And um, you know, I'm trusting that and I'm not really taking
21:23a ton of Warren but or not Warren, Lovelin, but uh, Lovelin is a good player. He's a high upside player and so that one does
21:31make me a bit queasy. I'm not really doing a lot about it, but it does make me queasy. Um, all aboard the Colar
21:40Express. Hell yeah, man. Uh yeah, the 801 Genty. Uh I was looking on Fancy Mojo because we're doing right after this and I hope you guys jump over and
21:49check it out, but we're g going to do an ADP chasing main event at 700 p.m.
21:54Eastern. Um with, you know, the whole ADP chasing crew and we just got our draft spot at the 105 and uh was looking
22:04to see like what what Gent's deal was, where he's been going over the last two days on Fantasy Mojo. And yeah, 801 was
22:11was the latest. 108 was the earliest.
22:14So, a huge disparity there. Uh, didn't really tell me much about where he might go in the draft, but was definitely
22:22someone I was trying to trying to discuss with the guys before we got on the clock, you know. Uh, does the fact that the Texans sent a
22:32sixth round rookie and a seventh round pick for Booty mean they don't value him all that highly?
22:37Yes. But I also like so what they value more than Hutchinson I would think right I would I would bet he is able to distance himself from
22:49Hutchinson quickly apparently Booty's had a really good camp even though he was never slated to start this year for the Patriots and I don't think was
22:56really going to be given an opportunity to fight for a job like they signed dos to a lot of money they obviously just
23:01traded first round pick for Browns so he wasn't going to be a starter for them and and Deario Douglas sounds like he's
23:07reasonable locked into the, you know, top guy out of the slot. Although there's probably going to be a rotation there to a degree, but it wasn't really
23:14going to be much for Booty and yet I think he just like brought it in camp.
23:19It sounds like the coaches were super happy with him, what he was bringing to the table. He was making plays. Um, you
23:25know, seemed to still have a really good connection with May and all of it. So, you know, I think as long as he's locked
23:31in, he's going to he's going to pass Xavier Hutchinson pretty easily. Uh, so yeah. Also, what's up with the sidekick jamming AJ Brown? We like AJ Brown. AJ
23:40Brown's ADP is also pretty early. Uh, if you look here, let's see. AJ Brown has an ADP on DraftKings of 1707.
23:51Um, so he's ahead of Bowowers, aheaded London, ahead of Genty now. Uh, way ahead of Neighbors still. So, yeah, we we like him there. Uh, we do like
24:01London, too, but he goes so much later.
24:03We like Bowers, he goes later. So Brown is kind of a the combination of we like him and you know he he goes earlier than
24:12some of these other guys that we also like and we don't we don't like Hampton very much. Um and Hampton has upside but
24:21I do worry a bit about uh you know the floor for the price on him.
24:27Uh, Genty going 210, which is interesting here. And Jamar Chase did go with the 103. So, people are not too concerned about this little
24:35hyperextension that he said he could have played through, which, you know, that seems reasonable enough not to freak out about. Um, but yeah, that's
24:42that's kind of the AJ Brown thing.
24:45I'm going to be up here. And looks like our buddy Patrick Mahomes is going to be the pick.
24:51Yep. Here's Mahomes, QB1 on the squad.
24:55Uh, Jensy went in the 14th round of $125 basketball team I was in. That's wild, man. That's wild. I did not take Puk at
25:05the two. I took him at the three over Chase. That was like right after I wasn't sure exactly what was going on
25:11with Chase's knee and I figured, you know, both guys are pretty pretty damn good picks. So, I went with Puka there
25:19rather than Chase.
25:21Uh, Chase was uh, you know, I was at the four, I would have taken Chase, but basically just a one pick discount is
25:32the way I played that.
25:34Wait. Oh, no. Lovear said Jensy went in the 14th round and he grabbed Mike Washington around. Yeah, that's that's a tough one. You know, these sometimes
25:44these things go your way, sometimes not.
25:47How does Antonio Williams look for a possible late season push? I would say bad. I I think Williams is undraftable at the moment. It is I have some Antonio
25:57Williams, not a lot because I I didn't like him as a prospect and uh I thought I always think it's this is something I
26:04think we should remember for next year and going forward is that it is it is tough to bet on a situation
26:13for a third round wide receiver, right?
26:16or a third round running back even lesser so for the running back but I think when you get into third fourth
26:23round receivers situation is cool but they might not get access to that situation because third
26:32round receivers don't do a lot like pretty frequently and it might take them multiple seasons like Nico Collins you know doesn't produce for several seasons
26:42you know he kind of flashes a little here and there but a year three breakout for for Collins and you know
26:50even obviously like you have the immediate hit from Puka from day three tank Dell hit from was it round three or
26:57four um so there can be immediate production from round three, four or five at receiver but I thought Williams was getting uh boosted because of the
27:08landing spot but he has to be good enough to take advantage of that landing spot and often third round receivers aren't at least as rookies, even if they
27:16get there eventually.
27:18So, yeah, I don't have a ton of Williams. I do have some. I would be I would be happy to see him do stuff at
27:22the end of the season. I'm kind of skeptical that happens. Um I'm pretty I'm like very skeptical. He looks to be
27:29buried on the depth chart. Like Burks was playing ahead of him. I think Demi Brown is probably ahead of him. I think
27:36both those guys are outside wide receivers as well, but they can put Diggs in the slot and play one of those guys with McLaren and then Digs
27:42in the slot keeping Williams off the field. So being behind those guys is bad. Luke McAffrey looks to be ahead of
27:47him as a pure slot. So he might be like a third string slot, you know, depending on how they deploy diggs.
27:54I think he's he's not draftable now. He could get there, you know, as a rookie.
27:59He could come on down the stretch, of course, but uh it's it's just kind of a bonus if he does at this point. Who
28:06fears you the most of the top 30 sidekick fades, Olive, Devonte Smith, or Kairen Williams? Probably Devonte Smith. I think he is the the
28:17most talented of those guys. Um, and I could see the offense for the Eagles taking a big step forward. And I
28:25could see him, you know, kind of holding a leaguewinning type of role all year ultimately, even though I am skeptical of him being able to do that because I I
28:36really do believe Mai Lemon, who I have on this team. Uh, but yeah, I mean, Smith's really good and I could see him
28:42making the fade position look look poor ultimately. Olve is very good, too. I I think he could do that. I think these
28:50guys just they don't separate that well from the receivers. They're kind of apart the receivers in a tier that go in
28:58the the the very beginning of that tier.
29:00And I would say that tier runs really through the end of the fourth round. So, it makes it just a little bit tough to
29:08like open up that tier when you have the potential to get, you know, Jeremiah Love, Bree Hall. Bree Hall might the 410
29:15here. That's wild. Um, you know, you have a chance to get some of those guys.
29:20Uh, or some of the the other receivers falling that we like or McBride. I mean, McBride is a huge reason I don't have
29:26more Smith. Uh it's it's like really really tough for me to pass on a guy who's coming off one of the best uh
29:34tight end seasons ever.
29:36Um and you just get him in the third for whatever reason. So had a beach day down in La Hoya and the
29:44Genty News absolutely ruined it. Sorry, man. Yeah, I was I was at the pool uh with Vivian and um that didn't help. I
29:53just kind of try to put it out of my head. you know, you got to you got to compartmentalize when when a guy uh may
29:59have suffered a a season ending injury.
30:01But hey, he didn't. You know, that's that's why you got to comp compartmentalize because uh maybe it's nothing and it's not just you telling
30:09yourself that. It really could just be a very low extremely low lowest of all time ankle injury and you you want to
30:16enjoy enjoy those days. Uh but I get it.
30:19I I was definitely a little stressed there too.
30:21I finally did get a bua in the late fourth for the first time today. Yeah, that is nice. I I've had that recently
30:27as well. Um, let's see. Jacobe Lane or Denzel Boston, man.
30:36I think I think the way we have it, it'd be Boston. And that's probably right. I think if you made me just take one
30:43draft, I might be lame just because it's hard it's hard not to dream on how much how fun he could be with Lamar. But I do
30:52think Boston's probably the right answer and probably the higher probability bet because uh you know second round pick versus a third round pick. I think some
31:00of Lane breaking out is like them being excited about having a a true kind of outside X-T type receiver they can do a lot of stuff with
31:09and he's got super super sticky hands that he can make awesome catches in training camp. But we'll see, you know, how that translates to real games. like
31:18is he is he able to generate separation which was a a problem in college and you know could ultimately lead to him being
31:25more of like a a summer hype guy than someone who just crushes in the regular season. We see this you know decent
31:31amount where the hype had some signal to it but it ends up getting a little bit overblown. Boston's also had a really
31:37really hyped up camp. He's also going to be the starting X right away and I think a little bit more talented uh based on
31:44what he did in college probably although it's close. So, yeah, it's it's close to a coin flip for those two guys. I' I'd
31:49lean Boston as the slightly more high probability bet, but [snorts and laughter] but then again, I I do want Lane uh on on teams
32:00as well. What exposure exposure are you trying to pile up and which ones are you winding down with just a few weeks left?
32:05Yeah, I mean, Lane is is a guy I'm trying to get more of. Boston's a guy I'm trying to get more of. Um, Bill has
32:11been a guy I've been trying to get more of for a few weeks now. uh this this kind of more minor injury that he
32:17suffered might make that a little easier. Jonah Coleman is someone I'm trying to get more of. I took him on that Genty team I was talking about. Um
32:24and I feel, you know, it's fun. It's not, you know, there. It's one thing to be like, "Oh, I drafted Jonah Coleman
32:30today on a team I didn't believe in and kind of just did to like say I have some exposure." It's like, no, no, I've got a
32:36team that's cooking. I'm like, "This is one of my favorite teams I've drafted all summer. I'm going to get Jonah Coleman on this team." you know, I don't
32:42have I don't have a lot of Coleman. It's a guy that makes me a little nervous. Is someone who I do believe in as a player.
32:48Just think the price has been a little bit frothy for most of the the summer and and now I don't think it is. Um but
32:54I don't think it's a steal either. I think he's just like an interesting guy at cost now. And so yeah, I got him on a
33:01a team that I that I really like. And you know, it only takes one team, right, the way this stuff goes. So yeah, that
33:09could be the team. Uh, but he's definitely a big one for me. Officially maxed BBM. Feels bad to be done this
33:17early.
33:18Yeah, I mean there's plenty more tournaments, you know, if you're looking I think they just launched the puppy 4.
33:22We got a ton of tournaments over on DraftKings. Um, check your uh check your promos. You might you might have something in there. I don't know. Uh,
33:29worth checking anyway. And then yeah, there's but you know, I've got uh about 550 slow drafts still going. So it could
33:39be worse. There's worse things than being done, you know. Uh yeah, people are doing some crazy stuff.
33:47Someone pulled up Bill in the in the draft we did yesterday to what the third or fourth round. Uh would you trade
33:53Jettis for Hampton's for Hampton or Andre? Uh my running backs are Scataboo and Price. I'd have CD Rice Tet as my
34:02wide receivers. Uh it's a no for me. Uh, if it's a Dynasty, it's like a hard no.
34:09If it's a reraft, it's also a no. Um, I get where you're coming from there. I'd still rather have Jefferson.
34:17Uh, say Jones was in my economics class.
34:22Interesting. How'd he do? Was he see is he going to go become a economist after he uh retires? Any 18 round wide
34:29receivers you like? having a hard time deciding between wide receivers like Coleman, Bernard Hurst, Branch, etc. Uh, Hurst is someone I'm trying to get more
34:37of for sure. Um, Coleman, what Coleman is this Keon? Not doing Keon. Uh, maybe I'm blanking on a
34:46better Coleman. Uh, Bernard, I'm still taking Branch. I'm trying to get a little bit more of. I don't have a ton
34:53of Branch because he hasn't really been 18th round is is why. Uh, but I am trying to get a little bit more of him.
34:59Hurst still is 18th round. Bernard has fallen to the 18th round. Uh I'm into both guys. Definitely into both guys.
35:07Jawan Jennings is here. And then uh got you Kobe Lane. Man, getting lane would be fun.
35:17Uh it is Top Guy Tuesday though, so I'm going to take whoever's at the top.
35:24But just know that I probably would not beat a lane here. I'm trying to take more. As you can see, I have a ton of
35:29lane actually. Uh, so maybe this is maybe this is doing me a favor here.
35:33Getting me onto a different guy uh on a team where I don't have any Ravens or anything. Uh, and I've got two Vikings.
35:40So, uh, let's do it. So, this team so far, I've got Jefferson, AJ Brown, Jeremiah Love, Travis ETN, Bucky Irving, Mike
35:48Evans, Rico Dattle, Sam Leaporta, Patrick Mahomes, Mai Lemon, Aaron Jones, Jh Ferguson, and Jawan Jennings. And now I'm going to take TJ Hawinson. Okay. All
35:59right. You know what? Thank sidekick kind of did something cool here. We went I've got Patrick Mahomes and uh that is
36:08currently my only quarterback. So I'm going to be probably throwing some uh you know stuff at the wall here. Getting more quarterback points. I don't have
36:18Mahomes himself stacked, but I do have a big old Viking stack with Jefferson, Hawinson, Aaron Jones, and Jawan
36:28Jennings. So, the Vikings are clearly gonna nuke in week 17. Maybe them nuking with [laughter] J I can't even say it.
36:38JJ McCarthy. No, Carson Wentz, let's say. Let's be real. Let's be realistic.
36:43I don't want to get too too ridiculous here on stream. Uh Carson Wentz just facilitates an incredible week 17 score out of the Vikings. Uh and so the Kyler
36:53teams are actually hurt, but the Mahomes teams are are alive and well. And uh and I I take down this this whole tournament
37:02with a Viking stack without the quarterback.
37:05Pretty sure that's going to happen now.
37:06I think that I just did I just make that happen?
37:11The lack of comfort. I lack the comfort with current team configuration.
37:17I don't sorry I don't understand that.
37:19Uh any qu any concern with Travis Hunter playing only defense at practice? Yeah, that happened the other day. Uh since then, Jacobe
37:29Meyers has been in a brace on his wrists because he jammed his thumb. I think he'll be probably fine. And then Brian
37:35Thomas came down hard on his shoulder. I think he'll probably be fine. But it has been a little reminder of This dude's gonna play. It's a long
37:44season. He's gonna play. So, no, I I'm still drafting Hunter, man. I think, look Cooper Bernard
37:54I don't know if those guys are good, but there's a chance they're very good because they were first round or first
38:00and a second round pick and they're completely free. That is the type of bet that I think is good and that we should
38:06make in baseball and it's going to hit not just hit but hit in like a meaningful way like we're looking back
38:15on this season learning lessons and those are two of the lessons or one of the two is a lesson of like oh yeah we
38:22should probably not do that again. That was a really awful price. We did a bad job pricing that. Uh, and if you took
38:30that guy, you were getting a huge advantage. That's the the type of thing I think is likely to be the case with
38:38those rookies, but I don't know if they're good. I'm pretty sure Travis Hunter is real good. I think he can run
38:46routes at a very, very high level and he's kind of the same price as Cooper.
38:54And so I'm like, yeah, I I understand obviously that there's some risk. Um, and not just risk, some certainty in a
39:01way that he won't play as much as I would prefer, but I mean, when he does play, and he will play, then, you know,
39:10he's got some real upside to deliver intermittent weeks that matter for my team. But intermittent weeks that matter is is pretty sweet at the price you get
39:22Travis Hunter at. Uh, I don't even think he's off the board yet. And we are into the 15th round.
39:29Uh, Oli Zakius is not available.
39:33The number two pick last year, who's a two-way player, one of the most exciting offensive and defensive players to enter the league in a while,
39:45is still available to draft. So, yeah.
39:48uh a zero in round 17 on an otherwise good team shouldn't matter too much, right?
39:56It's it's one of those things where it's it does hurt the EV of the team. It's if the team is otherwise awesome, then
40:03you're good. But it's just like one less out that you have. So taking that Z like kind of if we knew for sure that Dell
40:09was a zero or have some Christian Kirk teams, those are looking bad. you know that again he's a he's a final round
40:14dart throw thing but you know just losing that extra spot it does matter you want to try to avoid as much as
40:20possible at the same time if it does happen to hit uh it does happen to you know hit in a bad way you find one of
40:26those zero landmines the team's not dead uh but yeah it's not a good thing I had 600 slow drafts have you seen your
40:35family recently recently I mean the slow drafts you can it's it's not so much about the time commitment there I mean
40:41that I do the flows for the time commitment being lower than the fasts.
40:45Uh you know, you can do session in the morning, session in the afternoon, session at night, and you're done. Now, that's going to change when the clocks
40:52shorten, which will happen soon. Uh I think maybe tomorrow. So, yeah, that'll definitely make it more of a burden for that
41:02window. However, it'll also make the drafts end sooner. So, I think I'll be all right. I think I'll be all right.
41:07The sidekick for frankly is a huge huge, you know, timesaver when it comes to slow drafts. The the main reason I was
41:17like kind of intrigued in the first place, like we were like, "Okay, yeah, would I use this?" Like, I would definitely use this for slows and then
41:24we were able to make it good enough that I'm I'm using it for everything. But but slows were kind of the the driving
41:30motivation for me uh when originally thinking about launching it. Uh okay.
41:37So Hunter I did pass on here and now the watch is on to see if he makes it back.
41:42Heaps a quarterback guys. Don't don't take a quarterback. What is this? An IDP league. Uh Evans or Adams? Which is more
41:51likely to be a really bad pick at price?
41:54I would have said Adams before all these nagging injuries for Evans, but then Evans has been falling on those nagging injuries and just got him at the 603.
42:01Adams won at the 503. So, I'd still probably say Adams given the the discount in this draft, but at the same
42:08price, hold the price steady. At this point, I'm probably a little more nervous about Evans. Uh, but I think both guys can still pay off in the fifth
42:15for sure.
42:18Uh, arc arch typically is is it totally a word? I think it is a word. It should be a word. Walker no boot. Good news.
42:24All right. Sweet.
42:28Drafting against you and the one nine.
42:30Best of luck. think I'm on the way to advancing out of the group with you. So, out of the one nine, uh, we've got James
42:36Cook, Chase Brown, Quinnon Judkins, Tony Pard, and Tank Bixby at running back, Z Flowers, Jaylen Wadd, Christian Watson, Jordan Addison, Khalil Shakir, Keenan
42:46Allen, Davian Wix, and Ryan Florenoi at receiver, and then this is Jaylen Herz uh with uh with what Bigsby is the stack
42:55there to an extent. Uh, Kyler Murray and Jordan Addison starring for stealing the rest of your Vikings. Uh, Malik Willis as your third quarterback. And then
43:04tight ends. So far, none. Yeah, I think your team's good. Uh, obviously, you know, you're missing a position so far, but you have plenty of uh draft spots to
43:14fill it uh to close out. So, yeah, I I I do like your team.
43:23As someone who works in utility infrastructure, I'd like to come on the show and stick up for substations. I mean, we all need electricity, right?
43:30That's how you guys are watching this.
43:32That's how I'm drafting this team. So, I'm I'm with you. You know, we we need our substations. I used to work in uh uh
43:39demand response, if you're familiar with, you know, the electrical grid. Um it's a uh utility efficiency program where, uh businesses shut off during
43:50peak hours to prevent blackouts. So, I was a project manager for one of those companies. So, I know I know the
43:55electric system, you know, reasonably well, uh, in kind of a macro level type of way. Uh, and I don't think it's
44:03causing the 49ers injury issues, but I do think it's funny that many others seem convinced that that it is. Uh, Chase hurt. Why can't we have nice
44:10things? I mean, he doesn't look he doesn't look badly hurt, so we have we have Chase in our lives still, thankfully.
44:19Did you see the news that Sean Tucker could be cut? I did. We lowered Shawn Tucker a bit. Um, nothing radical there.
44:26Uh, it does seem like speculation, but he was playing he played in the the game after uh Williams, Josh Williams, maybe
44:35the the other running back there. They seem to be intrigued by another running back, and they might only want to keep
44:40three running backs. And obviously, they're going to keep Bucky and Gainwell. So, all of a sudden, Tucker Spot could be, you know, up in the air.
44:47And then even if he makes the roster, which I do think he will, um, if there's another running back in the mix, that
44:52could complicate things for him. He could be a healthy scratch. Um, you know, depending on which guys can play more special teams, that sort of thing.
45:00So, yeah, it's not great for Tucker. Uh, he, I think, is a lot more talented than the Bucks think, and I hope he gets an
45:08opportunity with a team that values him soon. But I I am worried that that is not going to be the case this year. does
45:14make Bucky, I think, in a better pick.
45:16Like if Tucker's not really in the mix, how is Bucky not going to pay off in the fifth or the sixth, which he goes in
45:23sometimes here? He went uh where did Bucky go? Oh, 510 to me. You love to see I honestly didn't know that that I wasn't doing a
45:34bit there. I forgot I got him in the fifth. Um but yeah, that's it's absurd.
45:40You know, if Sean Tuger's gonna be involved, it's just him and Gainwell, he's paying that off like pretty easily.
45:46Bucky's talented and he catches passes even if Gainwell catches passes. Give me a break. Uh are with Mike Evans age and recent
45:56injuries, are you guys moving him at all or is that already considered in the sidekick? We are moving him a little bit
46:00uh because he's he's getting banged up enough now where it's like a little bit, you know, it's creating some risk about,
46:05you know, how much he's playing and when.
46:08So, uh, I mean, he's I don't want to overstate that. It's just like he there's a little bit of concern around
46:15like, okay, is he healthy to start the year kind of thing. So, uh, do have do have some mild concern around Evans
46:24enough to where he dropped a little bit and you saw I did pass on him in the fifth to take Bucky. Uh, that would not,
46:33you know, what we would have had in like last week, that wouldn't have been the case. I would have I would have scooped
46:39Evans there. I'm pretty sure um if I've just taken the top recommendation and then probably Irving doesn't get back. So, you know, happy to have taken Irving and
46:49then push Evans, but yeah, we've moved Evans down a bit.
46:56All right, let's see.
47:01Oh, second round TIG. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, again on the Tferg stuff, I think if you're in on Tferg, then it would be
47:09weird, I think, if you didn't see him as someone who would then go really high the following year because if he hits,
47:16uh, he then probably emerges into an even better situation next season, assuming Stafford, you know, is healthy and and good to go. Uh, but yeah, if it
47:27if it works, it's going to work for more than just this year, I'd say.
47:34The Sims need to re-watch Lovelin in the playoffs. We We have seen Lovelin in the playoffs. Yes. Uh any increased optimism
47:41for likely given his camp performance and usage? Understand the New York Giants might just be bad.
47:48Not really. There it doesn't seem like the plan for likely is to be like an every route type of guy. And I thought a
47:56lot of the likely optimism was around neighbors not being fully right. uh I likely isn't that good like [laughter]
48:07like he was playing with Lamar Jackson and didn't really do it, you know, he was drafted.
48:15He he hasn't been a good fantasy pick really. Um and so I don't know. I don't I don't really get the likely bullcase.
48:26it it relies on this kind of like well, you know, don't you see his these stats kind of fit in here? If he's the number
48:33two option um on this team that that equates to this. It's like I don't nothing equates to anything. If he's not good, he's not
48:41he's not going to be able to do it. And I don't think he stinks. But I think he's like it's very kind of it's a
48:46little Titans Chigga Conquoesque, you know, and now that Aonquo is, you know, on the uh the Chameleio Conquo is the guy who's gotten the big upgrade
48:57where he he's with Jaden Daniels, you know, they could have a bounceback season. Um, I I have real concerns about Matt Naggie and what this offense is
49:09going to look like and how much he's going to try to limit what Dart does best because they want to preserve him
49:14and all that, but you know, Chica Conquo here 1308 likely 1006. I'd rather have a Conquo. Um, I think they're kind of
49:23similar types of players and I I like a Conquo situation better. Um, I'd rather bet on the better offense there. Uh, you
49:31know, if you're like, "Hey, come on. I'd rather have likely than no conquo." I wouldn't like be like, "Okay, yeah, I
49:38get where you're coming from." Um, when you when you factor in the the 40 pick difference, I I don't think it's close.
49:46I don't think it's close.
49:49Hunt visiting the Lions mean anything?
49:51Yeah, it means he's better than Isaiah Pacheco. [laughter] And And they may Sorry. Hey, you know, we brought in a Chiefs backup. Did we bring in the right
49:59one? We might need to bring in the other guy. Uh, ever make that draft plan or is Shopee in shambles? I have bad news. Shopee is
50:08I don't I I can't speak to whether or not he's in shambles, but um if he was a draft plan away from being in shambles,
50:16then he is in shambles because we didn't get our we didn't get our pick until like 40 minutes ago. So, yeah, I I
50:26jumped on here. I I fired off like two messages. Davis sent a giant list of players that he doesn't want to take and
50:32does want to take, but but it wasn't in any particular order to my eyes. Again, I only had a couple minutes to review
50:39it, but it's going to be chaotic. I can promise you that. Tune in ship chasing 23 minutes from now. We're be drafting a
50:46main event and it's it's going to be a bit chaotic for sure. Feel bad for show if you wanted a more of a draft plan. We
50:52couldn't make a draft plan. We didn't know our draft splot our draft spot until uh until we all got busy. So,
50:58we'll see. 10th round Nahomes incoming.
51:01Uh this this was called obviously a little while ago. And you were wrong, dude. You were so wrong.
51:11Ninth round, Nathan Mahomes.
51:16You know, you got to work. We work and we get better, right? We get better. We grow. We we take the feedback and we get
51:23better. That's that's uh that's what we're all striving for. And here Dave, you know, you were close.
51:32I respect I respect the attempt, but obviously ninth round Mahomes is is what you should have said. The lemon discount is still crazy. He's back to
51:41practice. I know, dude. But you can never forget that he was weird at the combine. This guy was real weird. He was like doing
51:50all sorts of stuff. Way too much. Way too much. He didn't like kind of listen in that one drill.
51:57You can't draft a guy who was weird at the combine. It's just it's well known.
52:02I mean, when you study this stuff, people talk about yards per run and, you know, fancy points for drop back and all
52:09this stuff. If you were weird to the combine, none of that matters. It's just uh it's just one of those things you
52:14pick up as you do this. Who are the three or four guys you're looking at slash queuing in every draft? Mine are
52:19KCC and Golden right now. I like KCC quite a bit. Um, and yeah, I I do. Uh,
52:30all right. Naji Harris, come on down.
52:34Uh, he is someone we are drafting now with, uh, you know, zero opportunity cost here in
52:43the final round. and uh and Harris being someone who was pretty much undrafted. So, he's kind of an interesting leverage play. Now, I
52:55will say this team looks thin at at quarterback for sure. I've got Jeremiah Love and Jacobe Brassette. So, I just need Versett to hold on for dear life to
53:05this job. Uh, Mahomes is a high enough upside quarterback at the end of the season that maybe I can get through with
53:11just him, but for safety, I'd probably have IKB to to Pennix myself. But it's an interesting one where the Sims may
53:20may see more value and Harris is kind of that lowowned guy, you know. I don't know. It's uh it's an interesting build.
53:27We've got May Mendoza would have been in the mix, too. Um, mayor was someone drafted before, like quote unquote
53:37needed to, but this is a thousand plus seat final. So, having like different combinations of guys in the final round
53:46could be uh pretty important and like, you know, having all three of these guys could potentially be key. So, uh, reaching on a guy in the 18th is not
53:56something I mind doing in this particular format with the giant final, uh, and something that the Sims account for the way we we sim it out. We sim out
54:05this particular contest, um, as well as the NFL season. So, uh, you know, getting a little bit thin at quarterback is interesting. Uh, but in a Cardinals
54:16are better than people think scenario, I benefit from that with the thinness at quarterback, getting deeper at the other positions and Jeremiah Love obviously
54:26benefits from that in a big way as a running back on a team, you know, if they're better than than we expect. So,
54:32yeah, not a not a build to have a lot of like this thin at quarterback. It's interesting. I mean a lot oftent times
54:38sidekick we talk about you know three quarterbacks uh have been a lot more common than this kind of thinner two quarterback builds.
54:46So uh add it to the portfolio.
54:50See if we take this thing down. Um Oops. Do you still have some Jack Besh?
54:57I do not have some Jack Besh. Uh Jack Besh I think is gonna be Kelvin Benjam.
55:04No. Uh Devin Funus. I think he's our generation's Devin Funus. He'll be auditioning with the Packers for a tight end job in
55:15about two years, three years, I guess, maybe two. Um surprised the sidekick had Lemon over Worthy when you picked
55:24Patrick Mahomes. Yeah. So that's that's uh an interesting one. And I would say the key thing there is
55:34stacking can be kind of a tiebreaker between guys, but if it's not a tie, it's not a tie. And you know, I think
55:43Lemon is just a better pick. Lemon's a better pick than worthy. Like, he's back at practice. You know, it's kind of it's
55:48kind of crazy how cheap he is in the 10th round. Awesome prospect. First round draft capital now back healthy.
55:56Like, he just shouldn't be there in the 10th. and Worthy is a good pick in the 10th, but I don't think an absolute
56:02smash even with Mahomes. So, you have the potential by pushing Worthy to maybe get him in the next round. You maybe get
56:09a Kelsey, which I I think probably would have been the pick um as the tight end too over Aaron Jones if he had made it.
56:17Ends up being naked Mahomes. Not the end of the world. But, uh but yeah, that's I think Lemon just being a much better
56:24pick than worthy in a vacuum. The sack is not going to override that.
56:30All right.
56:31Are you surprised that the Mahomes price hasn't risen? I am. Uh I do hear the same argument. I think there's there's certain players that the
56:42dominant argument, the dominant narrative on those players has just not shifted.
56:47And uh some of them is just like I could tell like with Travis Hunter, right?
56:52It's not shifted. It's not going to shift. You kind of found like where you're at on this. like do you believe
56:57he's going to play both ways and in a as a baseball pick especially he'll find ways to to hit your lineup over the
57:04course of a long season? Um or are you just not interested in touching a guy who, you know, might really struggle to
57:11run a lot of routes and been weak because he's playing a lot of cornerback and he's actually really playing well at
57:15quarterback and they don't want to risk getting him hurt uh over kind of this silly plan to have him play two ways,
57:21right? Like that's kind of you're going to be on one side of the fence or the other on that a little bit more. But
57:25with Mahomes, everything has trended so positively for him as far as, you know, his health, him playing right. Like we were talking about him missing time and
57:33he was going kind of where he goes now.
57:35He's not going to miss time. You know, it's like, oh, he's going to be immobile. He's not been immmobile in camp. You know, obviously I don't think
57:42he'll run quite as much as he did last year, but he's got this rookie wide receiver he apparently has an awesome
57:46connection with. People are excited about that. That hasn't moved the needle at all. Um, you know, there's Worthies looked better. They're talking about a
57:55bigger rice role for Worthy. Ken Walker's getting a really big role in the receiving game. It looks like, at least relative to, you know, what
58:02they've done with their running backs over the past couple years anyway. It's probably more Kareem Huntesque. You know, I don't expect them to be like
58:09peak Brian Westbrook or Lehan McCoy or something, but I think he'll have a decent role in the screen game and that's going to help Mahomes's passing
58:17numbers to to an extent as well. So, yeah, I don't really get why Mahomes hasn't risen up. Um, he should not be
58:24going outside the top 100 picks. Doesn't make any sense at all. Score the same exact same number of points as Drake May
58:30last year. Uh, points per game. Exact same exact same number. And Drake May went at the 5'11 here. Got Mahomes at
58:39the 910. Obviously, I like Drake more than Drake May more than Mahomes this year, but uh that that's a huge huge
58:46discount.
58:47uh ETN over Bree sidekick that concerned about the injury. Yeah, I mean Bree's ADP here. If we go to the running backs,
58:56I'll show the drafted running backs as well. ETN's got an AP of 37.7 and oh, Bree is at 41.7. Okay, so not a
59:06huge difference, but Bree from just drafting, Breeze sometimes falls like really far.
59:12Here he fell to 410.
59:15Um, so yeah, it's not like a no-brainer click over ETN, I'd say. I'm taking I'm taking Bree in the fourth, though. Uh,
59:23so yeah, that's one of those ones where if I'm doing one draft, I I would prefer Bree. I don't think it's bad to have ETN
59:30mixed in there.
59:34Boston is a more prudent choice over Lane, but Lane has to be the more fun pick. Yeah, everyone in Philly thinks
59:40Wix is going to be the number two. Just throwing that out there. that you offense might end up looking like Green
59:44Bay last year as far as f as far as wide receiver fantasy scoring. Yeah. No, I think Wixs will be the number two in
59:50week one. The way I think about the summer to a large extent, I think what we are learning is about week one.
59:59We don't have a good history. In fact, we have like a pretty awful history of learning about the end of the season in
60:07the summer. I mean, the big camp hype guys, some of the big camp hype guys last year were Ricky Paw. You know, I
60:14know he struggled with an injury, but didn't materialize with Calvin Ridley a couple years ago was like an all-time
60:22kind of BS Steam guy. Um, and uh, Matthew Golden was actually a big big- time camp hype guy going into the fifth
60:31round last year.
60:36just, you know, I think Wix will play ahead of Mai Lemon in two wide receiver sets to begin the year. I don't think Mai Lemon needs to
60:44play in two wide receiver sets in week one to pay off a 10th round ADP, right?
60:48Or pay off a seventh round ADP, frankly.
60:51So, you know, look at like look at Brian Thomas down the back half of his rookie season, he starts cooking, he is a smash
61:01at the 67 turn.
61:03uh you know, you you can get Zay Flowers, what he did in the eighth round, uh in his rookie season. You
61:09don't need like consistent early season through the end of the season scoring for a guy to be an absolute smash in the
61:17seventh round or later as a rookie wide receiver. Uh I I it's not that I'm doubting that Wix is the wide receiver,
61:23too, to start the year. I think the market is mispricing what that means for a for a basketball tournament where 75%
61:31of the tournament is three single week tournaments in weeks 15, 16, and 17.
61:38That makes up 75% of the rounds of this tournament. So, you take your weeks one through 14. You need to score points there, but I'd
61:48rather score points in weeks 15, 16, and 17 as opposed to just in the early part of the first round of the tournament.
61:58Yeah. Appreciate everyone tuning in. Uh glad glad you're enjoying the content, Alex. Uh like like and subscribe, please. And um I'll be back tomorrow
62:08with uh Sam Sherman. We're going to do an episode of That's Fair on Wednesday.
62:13Then I'm gonna be streaming with Davis and on Thursday and Roathat to close the week on Friday. Uh streaming every day
62:20this week. Really appreciate you guys liking, subscribing, doing all the stuff, helping other people see this content. And then yeah, check out Ship
62:28Chasing. I'm going to be jumping on there right after this for a main event team with the ADP Chasing guys. Uh
62:37let's see.
62:41any particular reason why Jordan Mason flipped Aaron Jones? Has he uh how he has? I think people just have a hard
62:48time with Aaron, myself included, have a hard time with Aaron Jones. Like he he just, you know, he's so old. Did not
62:55look good last year. Jordan Mason's been pretty efficient in the advanced numbers. When I watch Jordan Mason, I'm never really that impressed. But he he
63:02does look good in the advanced numbers.
63:04And uh I think the more kind of he's a probably safer play is just like the two down guy who's going to have you know
63:11decent a decent role almost no matter what. Um I think he could be a bust at ADP for sure. It's just you know if he's
63:18like a 1B and Jones is getting enough the goal line work and and all the receiving work. Mason could be like a
63:24real real boring grinder type of guy that you could end up finding better like he could he could get outscored by
63:31Chris Rodriguez pretty easily and Rodriguez might not need to score that many points to do it kind of thing. Uh but at the same time if you get Mason as
63:40the 1A and then he's catching some passes uh I think he can he can be a pretty nice hit. I've ended up liking
63:48Bill a little bit more recently over Mason, but um I do think Mason's fine enough pick. I have a pretty good
63:55amount. Not not anything crazy, but I I believe I'm overweight on him now.
64:01Sidekick user here at 30% Ridley. I don't hear anything about him, good or bad. What's the bull case for him?
64:06Bullcase is pretty simple. He is a starting wide receiver uh for the Titans and that includes being a starting outside wide receiver. He will play over
64:16Wandale it looks like in two wide receiver sets. We'll see. But that based on the way they were deploying them in
64:21preseason, it looks like Wandale's primarily operating out of the slot. Uh Ridley's probably the starting X and and Carnell Tate looks like the starting Z.
64:31Now that's preseason. Take it with a grain of salt. I think Tate will play some X. I think Ridley will play some Z.
64:37I think will play some X. I think uh Wandelle will kick outside some. I think DK will play some in the slot. You know,
64:46it's not going to be the same three guys doing the exact same thing every time.
64:49But I think Ridley is kind of a chaperone type of guy. And you can get them so cheap. You know, he goes to the
64:56very end of drafts. Uh I took him here at the pick 202 1710. Uh and you know, I don't have the deepest of wide receiver
65:06runes. So Mai Lemon's a rookie. Uh, and I've got like Dear Mario Douglas, Jawan Jennings like don't have my receiver room is not stacked. Justin Jefferson,
65:15AJ Brown, and Mike Evans could be pretty nice top three, but he's kind of filling out depth with very, very little cost.
65:23Um, so yeah, just one of those kind of sort of eat your vegetables picks. We've looked at Ridley pretty consistently because one thing with some of these
65:32veteran eat your vegetable type things, it's like you better make sure they're actually edible vegetables. Um, you know, and Ridley is obviously on the
65:40Titans and, you know, is he definitely definitely ahead of and and DK and stuff that that's been something we've kept a
65:48close eye on because we are taking him a good amount and it does look like it's actually looked pretty pretty bullish
65:54where not only is he ahead of those guys, but he might be ahead of Wandell and two wide receiver sets may and maybe
66:00not, but even like I don't that's a bonus. I he's worth taking where he is.
66:05uh just as like a starting guy in three wide receiver sets who has actually been like reasonably efficient over the last
66:12two years with the Titans. He's been like the 178ish range in yards per out run which is pretty good given his
66:19situation. So I don't think he's completely washed. I know he's come off an injury but seems to have recovered well from that. Max Brazmer nuke for the
66:26uh the Vikings stack maybe. Let's hope uh I'll take anyone. It doesn't matter.
66:33Ideally not Kyler for this team.
66:35Uh yeah, starting wide receiver goes super late. Lemon will dust wicks. I think he will over the course of the season, but again,
66:43uh it could take half the year. I think we'd still get there.
66:48Let's see.
66:50Had a galaxy brain moment when I thought of you and Shady saying you made the kick in the name of making money. What
66:55if you're programming suboptimal picks for the general populace in order to win, but we're using it?
67:02>> [laughter] >> The problem is that Shady stop clicking for like more money than like a lot of the like he doesn't maybe
67:13account for all the subs in himself, but it's it could be close. So, [laughter] I don't I think if we if I'm doing that
67:21and I haven't told Shady about it, I'm in I'm in trouble. That's not going to go that's going to be a tough
67:27conversation.
67:29I'll say that. Do you have much of the Allen DJ Moore stack? I don't I don't have much Allen and I don't have much
67:35more together or solo. So I have very little of them together. Um I think the gap between Allen and the rest of the
67:43QB1s doesn't make any sense. Um to me that is the question. What is the opportunity cost of Allen versus what the opportunity cost of Jackson May
67:52Burrow to a lesser extent for me Williams but you know he generally is in that group.
67:58Jaden Daniels. Jaden Daniels at the 706 or Allen at the 302.
68:04You know, that's a that's a Nico Collins, Devonte Smith, Chris Olive versus Stefan Dicks. You know, Quinton Johnson. This is an entirely different
68:16group of receivers that you're giving up. Uh, you know, you've moved into for the opportunity to take Allen over Daniels. That could be that could be a
68:26point. That could be that could be a point to Daniels. Daniels could outscore Josh Allen. Who would be shocked if Daniels outscores Josh Allen? I mean,
68:35obviously I'm I want Allen, but that's not at all a lock. I think it's a lock that, you know, Nico Collins outscores
68:44Stefon Diggs. I think that's a lock. If they both stay healthy, that's happening, you know. So, it's just like one of those things. Now, I'm kind of
68:52getting to overstate this case because Allan usually goes in like the fourth and Daniels goes in the sixth, but let me have it. Come on.
69:00I'm doing a solo stream here. Give me a break. Uh, just found out I got the number one pick in a home league. Getting Gibbs. Hell
69:09yeah, man. Congrats. Uh, did you buy into the into Tucker possibly getting cut? Yeah, I did talk about that. I don't think he gets cut. I don't think
69:16it's good either that people are talking about it. clock shorten plus shorter overnight pause. Oh, the overnight pause. I need to look into the new
69:23overnight pause because that that would be bad for me. I like the overnight pause is glorious. I feel like round 20th Penn might be a DK3 quarterback
69:31smash. Like I said, I probably would IB PennX. Might talk to the guys, make sure we we have Penn bullish enough because
69:37PennX didn't even go drafted in here. I have him in the 555 a good amount. I think PennX is a pretty damn good pick.
69:45Um so yeah, I agree with you.
69:49Um, who should we be targeting as the commanders wide receiver three? I mean, in my heart, I want to tell you Treyen
69:56Burks, but the answer is don't do it.
70:00Don't do that. That's a bad way to to spend a pick. Uh, you probably want to just take Chica Conquo if you're looking
70:07for a a third commander. Um, but yeah, I would not I would not be doing that. You still know Mike Evans for FFPC or is he
70:15too injuryprone to trust? I would I would take a discounted Evans uh in a start set. I think you'll kind of know
70:20when to start him probably. Uh there is some risk though, but yeah, I think I I would want to discount from where he's
70:27been gone. But like five, six turn, I'd be I'd be down. Kind of look where I got him here. I'd be down. Uh couldn't that
70:34be good? It's bad if a player gets passed by uh I think a secondyear UDFA is the dude he's competing with and then
70:42gets cut. That's bad. tells you maybe he like didn't have a great camp or you know whatever else like it's it's not
70:49good that like knowing that would make me concerned. Obviously if he then lands somewhere cool that'd be great but I don't know that kind of stuff
71:00I would rather he stay in Tampa Bay. I'd rather stay in Tampa Bay. Like the fact that he got cut is bearish. You know if
71:08someone traded for him I'd feel a little differently.
71:11Uh, more Calvin Ridley questions.
71:15Uh, more utility grid questions.
71:18Um, do you ever just stop it before running backs? I'm going to answer this and then get out of here because we're
71:22doing a main event over on Chip Chasing channel, the ADP Chasing guys. Thank you so guys so much for watching and sending
71:30the questions. Sorry I didn't get to everything this week. I will be back next week for another mailbag. Hop in there. You can always throw in questions
71:35in the leg up Discord as well. But we'll close with this. Do you ever do you ever just stop at four running backs? I am
71:41thinking the 11th pick. I'm in the 11th pick and I have Barkley, ET, and Judkins Chuba. All passed their ADP. Went three
71:47running backs early. Got CD Flowers. I'm figuring out the rest of the wide receivers with with late guys. Uh I guess he's talking about a different
71:53draft. He's not in the 11 hole here. But yeah, I stopped at four running backs a good amount. Um I think this time of
72:00year that there are some interesting guys at the very end of drafts. Na Harris in the 20th is kind of interesting. Uh I took Dylan Samson here
72:07in the 16th. You know, there are some dudes you can kind of tack on, uh, Jonah Coleman, you know, depending on where
72:13he's available and so on. Uh, you can kind of do stuff where you take like four early and then like tack on a fifth
72:20very late. But I have a ton of teams where I stopped at four and it looked like teams like this where you take
72:27Love, ETN, and Irving and then maybe swap out AJ Brown for Chase Brown.
72:33That's a four running back build for me probably. And I feel pretty good about those teams. I think those teams could
72:39be really awesome as long as everyone stays healthy. And when I'm building out a portfolio of teams, um, some of them will, some of them,
72:48those those running back rooms are going to stay healthy and they're going to advance and they're going to be they're going to be potentially cooking if I was
72:54able to find enough wide receiver production late in a year where I think there's some really underpriced wide receivers. Uh, the rookie class I think
73:00is largely underpriced. There's some other guys down there later. um you know, including guys like I was drafting before like Debo, uh some diggs, a lot
73:10of Keenan, you know. So, yeah, I think that stopping for running backs can work very well depending on the rest of the
73:17build. But that'll do it. Thank you so much for uh for watching. Please like and subscribe and please join us over on
73:24Chip Chasing. I'll see you there in just a minute. Later.
