0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and YouTube feed. My name is Pat Crarine. You can follow my content at legendaryupsside.com.
0:07With me today, Rich Rebar for our angles and upside podcast. Reeves, how's it going?
0:13>> It's going good, man. It's a third of the season's done there. I feel like there's still so much like we're we're
0:18still learning even though because we're so many so many injuries like you know, we finally have gotten like a couple weeks of like Caleb back. So, it's like
0:24they're start it's like, "Oh, maybe Coulson Love's not dead." And like, "Oh, Luther Burton's back alive." like it's like, "Oh, this is kind of cool." Uh,
0:31you know, we're we've got some other guys like coming back from injuries. You know, it's we're still trying to figure some things out and some things we've
0:37kind of gathered and say like, "All right, we kind of know what these teams are either for better or worse." But,
0:42uh, yeah, there's still a lot going on.
0:44>> 100%. Yeah, it's kind of in a way this time of year like reminds me of like kind of like week two or week three
0:50where we're kind of learning things that maybe we thought aren't true. like we we're not going to talk about the Saints
0:56and the Steelers today, but you know, both have written up that game and um one of the things that was interesting
1:03about that is like you're you're looking at two offenses that are really built around not actually much passing efficiency, but volume. We've talked
1:10about this with the Saints a bunch. Oh, yeah.
1:11>> On the show, >> but then you look at the Saints, they've actually been run heavy the last two weeks. And so you're like, is this was
1:18that specific to those game plans or like what's real here, you know? So, there's going to be some stuff we'll get
1:23into with with kind of these team identities and the direction they're heading in and things of course change over the course of the season. Teams are
1:31dealing with injuries. There's going to be a bunch of injuries we talk about this week. So, yeah, it's it's a fun fun
1:36time to kind of dig into like what what we have is is real and what you know is actually a little bit misleading in the
1:43data so far. But, uh, if you're not familiar with the show or, you know, you're kind of tuned back in after a
1:48break, it's always super helpful to head over to Sharp Football Analysis, check out the worksheet, uh, support Reeves' work there, and then you can check out
1:57the walkthrough over at Legendary Upside. I've got all these games written up in one way or another. Got little side articles on the island games by
2:05myself and Matt Herby. And then the walkthrough covers the main slate of games, which we're going to be diving into right now. Um, so yeah, check all
2:13that up and uh appreciate you guys watching. Let's dive in with the Bengals at Ravens. This game uh kicked off things for me with with Zay Flowers as
2:25the cover boy. I am kind of counting on Lamar Jackson to play here for that kind of cover boy uh element to really pay
2:34off. Uh Jackson back at practice seems like a play, not a done deal. Um, but really like well like let me get your
2:43thoughts on what you think Jackson status will ultimately end up being before we we dive too much further in the game.
2:48>> You know in typical Lamar Jackson fashion like he didn't give us like he gave us like some read but no read like
2:54he's just you know Lamar's always been like that like it's he's a very murial dude. He kind of was like all right I'm
3:01trending in the right direction but then he was like if I don't feel like I can run around I I feel like I can't play.
3:07It was like, "Well, can you feel like you run around?" Like, like, you know, follow-up question, please. Like, like, so he kind of did the thing where it's
3:18like, oh, like, oh, it sounds promising you're going to play. And then he kind of was like, well, I still might not
3:22play. So, like I also like I think you and I came away with the same thing about Z Flowers uh in general. like just
3:30like his metrics with Lamar and it's it's been a small sample but like they are just so mind-boggling >> it's JSN stuff it's crazy
3:39>> it's more it's like JSN on like the the limitless drug like it's like like what the [ __ ] is that like
3:47>> like dude he he averages eight yards per out run like with Lamar Jackson on the field um and in particular in this
3:53matchup because >> you know his slot routes which matter for this matchup like He's he's been targeted on on 49% of his his routes on
4:02the slot with Lamar Jackson for 9.1 yards per out run like 9.1. He's even played a full game with Lamar Jackson
4:09and he has two he has two wide receiver one scoring weeks like two top 10 weeks and they haven't even played a full game
4:14together.
4:15>> So like he scored 26 points in a half >> in one half.
4:22>> Yeah. Like you I told Ry when I sent it in, I said, "This is the most fun section I've had writing up about a
4:27player all season, but only if Lamar Jackson plays."
4:31>> Yeah, that's how and and I I write up the games in publish, you know, Friday morning. And I So I was kind of like
4:37back and forth on how to and of course, you know, I put in some notes of like what what I expect if if Huntley plays
4:42instead of Jackson. the game is so much more fun >> if Jackson goes and in part because I like the Bengals side of it a lot more
4:50>> if Jackson plays, you know, because you have the the Ravens so much more likely to push >> the Bengals and you know, you have the
4:57Bengals like they are they are leaning into the pass in every game this year.
5:02They've had a positive pass rate over expected of at least 2% in every game.
5:07They've been at 5% or above in uh in five of their games and or or four of their five games, I should say. So, it's
5:16been, you know, the kind of classic Bengals type stuff. They lead the NFL in pass rate of expected on first and 10 at
5:2310%. They lead the NFL with a 6% overall pass rate of expected and they have a 67% pass rate, which is quite high. So,
5:31you know, the Bengals are going to do the Bengals, right? because the Ravens are pretty good against the run. Um, they're pretty good against the pass,
5:39too, but the Bengals are playing to their own strength. The Ravens haven't really been like a run funnel or a pass
5:44funnel. You kind of can play to your own team identity against this defense. And so, I' I expect the Bengals to be the
5:51Bengals. That is a lot more fun if the Ravens are pushing back.
5:56>> Yeah.
5:57>> You know, and with Jackson, I think they can push back quite effectively.
6:02Jackson, you know, it's a limited sample for him, but he has the highest success rate in the NFL at 55%.
6:09He's quarterback five with 11.4 EPA per game. He's had a really fun start to the year. And then you also have the data
6:18point of like Flowers, you know, being hyper efficient.
6:22>> We've had some misses on the OC's, you know, joining, you know, the young OC's like kind of taking offense to the next
6:29level. like I have some Shawn Manion takes I want back, but but Declan Doyle looks like he's delivering, you know? He he is
6:39>> he's the guy who's actually paying off on this. So, I >> I'm just so excited to see more of Lamar
6:45Jackson back in the system for what it can do for Zay Flowers, but also for what what it can do for this game
6:51environment.
6:52>> Yeah, 100%. I mean, if Lamar Jackson plays in this game, like there is another like level this goes up. I still
6:58think it be it could be okay if Huntley plays, but it's like so much more variance like involved. And it's not
7:04like there'sn't variance of Lamar's playing and he's not fully healthy, but I mean, he's averaged 22 fantasy points per game in this matchup alone. uh that
7:14we've seen the the Bengals like as the season's gone on they've started to re reveal a little more defensively like if
7:20they don't they remind me a little bit of like last year's Bears a little bit where like if they don't get a turnover
7:25>> like or maybe like even the Jaguars in a sense if they don't get a turnover they basically give up points like they just
7:31played a 55 point game with the Dolphins and the Dolphins had 24 of those points um they will give up some points so it's
7:38like I do think like said like Hley can run around but like Lamar can turn this game into where like maybe we can get
7:43like the low 50s to like oh like you look at some of these games they played in recent years like in 2024 it was like
7:4841 to 38 35 34 like those types of games >> where we're just like flying high and everyone is just like it's real party
7:57man.
7:58>> Yeah the Bengals it's a little similar to like the Jaguars from last year too where they have a pretty poor success
8:03rate against the pass at 23. They're ranked 23rd there. Um but they're ninth in EPA. They're not very good in PFF's
8:10coverage grades. They're 29th. They're pressuring well. They're pressuring quickly. So, they are, you know, it's kind of like bigger plays, but but down
8:17to down, you can move the ball against them. And so, they've limited some quarterbacks. Malik Willis was was quite bad against them. CJ Strad was bad
8:25against them. Baker Mayfield was bad against them, but like Aaron Rogers was pretty efficient against them. And then Trevor Lawrence was was very efficient
8:31against them. And that's not a particularly difficult quarterback schedule, >> you know? So, you're you're also looking at a defense that hasn't been like super
8:39test. when you look at some some you know like some teams have played like Josh Allen and Pery and you know you
8:45throw like a May type in there like there's like a lot of harder schedules than this and the Bengals overall kind
8:53of look vulnerable from a success rate point of view. One guy I want to mention is Mark Andrews purely from a hey Lamar
9:02Jackson is going to play perspective.
9:05um in a couple different ways. He looks like a positive aggression candidate.
9:095.5 yards per target, uh which is quite low even for his 6.6 ADOT. That's that's pretty low. Uh he's in fantasy points
9:18over expected at minus 2.3 points per game, which is fifth percentile. So he he really in two different ways looks like a positive aggression candidate.
9:26his his target uh rate fell to just 12% last week, which is definitely concerning, but he's been at 23% targets per outr run or above in the first five
9:36games. And you know, that rate did drop with Huntley. With Huntley, I'm not really interested. Andrew looks kind of washed.
9:44>> Um I'm pretty nervous about like where things are like six weeks from now with him. But there is this role like he has
9:52a 21% target share on the year in a good offense.
9:56you know, assuming Jackson's there. So, he is someone that like I think especially after last week, people might just be kind of done with. And I get
10:04that.
10:04>> But I think with Jackson coming back it and this game environment, it could be a good week to just, you know,
10:10>> wade into some pretty risky waters and uh and bet on Andrews as a positive aggression candidate.
10:16>> And yeah, I came away with the same thing. Like you said, you know, asterisk, you know, this message will self-destruct if Tyler Huntley plays.
10:23>> Exactly.
10:23>> Uh but he has a 20. He's been targeted on 28% of his routes with Jackson and they really that he hasn't played with
10:29Jackson because remember he left week three against the Cowboys for like a section of that game and then he comes back Jackson only plays a half against
10:38Tennessee. Andrews has a touchdown in the first half and then it's been Huntley Huntley the last you know 10 quarters of football. So, like there's
10:45this is one of those teams like because Jackson's missed so much time and then Flowers has missed so much time like we
10:50still don't have like the full reveal.
10:51And I would also include like Jacobe Lane's missed so much time like this is a team that I still think offensively
10:56like we don't have the full answer to and they're like finally getting you know Cam Jurgens insert into this offensive line that they've been
11:03rotating players for. So like so like this is this is still the Ravens very much are like a team in motion now. I
11:10think like we know how like we're handling them big picture. We just haven't seen it. It's just uh you know what do we get this week on on
11:15>> it's almost like week three or week four for the Ravens. You know, it's like week seven for for everyone else, but it's a
11:21little it feels earlier in the season as far as figuring this team out.
11:24>> Yeah, they just haven't they've just been missing a lot of pieces and and they're trying to figure it out. But
11:28definitely Jackson the way he's played and the small sample, you'd be very excited for them to finally have all these guys together on the field
11:37>> for sure. Uh Derrick Henry obviously also benefits quite a bit if Jackson's back. Um, you know, in some ways you
11:44could say like, well, if Huntley's there, they're just going to try to lean on Henry a bunch. But I think you want
11:48Henry as, you know, part of a an offense that is rolling. It it boosts his touchdown equity, and they're never going to get super far away from the
11:58run. The the Ravens want to be pretty balanced even in shootouts. So, >> Henry obviously benefits a ton as well.
12:05I I will note like Henry's rushing metrics are not good this year. He's he's running back 24 in rush yards over
12:10expected per game, running back 33 and running back 17 in the two success rate metrics. One based on the rush yards
12:16over expected model, the other EPA. He's been, you know, better in the EPA model, but still like he's not been super
12:22consistent and he's not been super explosive. Uh that's probably more related to, you know, them not having Jackson, but he is pretty old. And so
12:32that's where again like I another reason that I feel more comfortable with him as part of an offense that's humming as
12:39opposed to like hey let's load this guy up with a ton of touches and make the whole game plan around him where you
12:45know that's that's maybe not going to work as well as it might have even last year.
12:51>> Yeah 100%. I mean and and father listen father time comes for everyone. He still he still looked the part like early in
12:57the year too. think like the offensive line got banged up and obviously, you know, we're back to Huntley. Uh the offense is an explosive. Um so that's
13:05what we want. Just get back because that's why it's so critical that Jackson comes back cuz he just he raises the
13:10tide of all these guys uh to such a great degree.
13:15On the Bengals side, it's pretty clean.
13:18Like I they said the Bengals probably going to pass a bunch regardless. And Chase and Higgins are are dominating targets. Gassiki's, you know, those guys
13:27are healthy, so Gassiki's kind of like, you know, high-end tight end three type dude. Um, the most interesting thing is what's going on in the back field.
13:35What's your take on on where they are with with Perine and Brown? They talked about using more Pine and then they did
13:42he actually led the team with 45% carure against the Dolphins before the buy with with Brown at 42%. So, what what's your
13:48read on that?
13:49>> Yeah, it's it's still kind of tricky.
13:51Obviously, you know, Brown lost the fumble. He started that game and was like like completely dominating the backfield again and wasn't really doing
13:58anything. uh which was a big deal for me because I was like no problem you know I was like oh he's been bad but like he's
14:03faced a hard schedule like this is a chance you got the Dolphins they're in a great spot and he was still like pretty
14:09bad with his opportunities and not only was he bad he lost the red zone fumble then it was like all right was he
14:14punished for the red zone fumble there was also some suggestions from people that were like oh it was 100 degrees like on the field so they were like you
14:21know using him but then Paul Durr wrote an an article at the athletic and talked about how you know they kind of maybe
14:28view Perine is better for their rush their rushing scheme now uh and how they're playing and it's like all right so there's like a lot of different
14:34variables in play here. So this I think out of the buy will be very telling what how they split this back field. Uh I
14:42think just based on though the way Brown has performed up until this point you can't feel confident like you know that
14:49uh you don't have like anything outside of maybe like hoping to get some touchdowns here.
14:54>> Like there's there's nothing to lean into, right? Like there's nothing that makes you feel cozy about this situation if you have Chase Brown right now.
15:00>> No, I know that like it's irresponsible for the Bengals to do this and also not very Bengalsy at all, but like teams are
15:07calling about Jonathan Taylor. Bengals should be one of those teams, right?
15:11>> Jesus.
15:13>> How fun would that be?
15:14>> That'd be great.
15:16>> I mean, they got to look at what the Chiefs are doing, right, with with Walker. It's like you can beat pass
15:19first and still have a really awesome running back.
15:23>> Think about it. Yeah, that'd be that'd be something, man. Especially because Taylor like and we you know, we'll get to the Colts. It's just like now they're
15:29talking about like trading Quinton Nelson. It's just like like we want kind of want if you have Taylor, you almost want him to get traded now to
15:36>> Oh, you definitely do. You definitely do. Not to the Giants or something horrible like >> No, no, no, no.
15:41>> Yeah, which they might do. I mean, that would I don't know what like who do the Giants think they are? They But they're
15:48they're openly talking about trading for a running back. So, uh, Jacobe Lane, I I will just note before we move on, 58%
15:55round participation last week. Some of the guys who came back from injury, um, you know, Omar Cooper, for example, like they jumped right into big roles.
16:03>> Yeah, >> Lane's role was still a little bit more limited. I think he'll probably ramp up some. So, he's he's also like a name to
16:08keep in mind.
16:09>> Um, is, you know, kind of dark stuff.
16:12But if if Jackson plays, you know, >> yeah, I wrote him up as kind of like a DFS, like, you know, wait. Um, and I
16:20don't even mind though that like Walker came in and played Baitman's role because Baitman wasn't getting targeted anyways.
16:25>> Yeah, Baitman's role is useless.
16:27>> Like, so I didn't even care like, you know, it's like should we even care that Devontes Walker ran more routes than
16:32Jacobe Lane because when Lane's played, he's been targeted on 21% of his routes.
16:36Again, he he has not run a ton, but like he's actually gotten targeted a little bit in the in the offense when he plays.
16:43So we we do some of this like you and I like we're all looking at some of these metrics and some of this stuff you can
16:48get caught a little bit gets lost in the sauce like some of the route rate stuff like we saw with Burden last night there
16:53was a big dicati about like Burden running routes it's like I don't know when he plays he gets targets man he's
16:57really good like I lane when you seen him like we've had a very small sample but preseason week one before he got
17:03hurt we had a touchdown on that called back too in week one and then even last week we like he looks apart like he
17:09looks good like and and he's and he's drawing targets when he plays and I That should be the more of the starting
17:15point, not what his actual routes were.
17:18>> Yeah. I mean, I think >> eventually it will matter, but like, you know what I mean? Like, >> yeah, both matter, but it is nice to
17:24have a guy who's getting targeted, especially when they're rookie, you know, and it's like, >> yeah, >> they're not like he was a third round
17:30pick, so it it's not like a given that he's good, >> you You know, it's not a given that a first round pick is good, obviously, but
17:36it's like you >> third round picks are bad all the time.
17:40Or they're like >> they have like six year careers, but like they're Deami Brown.
17:46>> Yeah.
17:46>> You know what I mean? Like it doesn't matter kind of thing.
17:50>> So there's uh >> Yeah, it's just it's not I think the more important thing for a guy like Lane to me is he's on the he's getting on the
17:58field in like a real way. not like a 25% round participant participation kind of way, but like a part-time plus sort of
18:04role and he's drawing targets. Like that's that's very encouraging. Um I think >> and remember they just don't play a lot
18:11of >> they don't play a lot of 11 personal anyways.
18:14>> Yeah. Yeah, true. I mean for him to like really truly break out, we'd love to have him up, you know, 85% round
18:21participation up in there, but the the thing is like I I wouldn't be shocked if he was there this week. He could be
18:26there this week. It was his first game back from an injury, you know, right?
18:28So, and if he's not, he could still pay off in DFS. So, um, >> all right.
18:34>> We do kind of want those guys out there soaking up DJ Turner so Zay can just run around in the middle of the field.
18:39>> Yeah, they're going to get Z. They're doing the Z stuff's great. It's just like you're the chess piece. We'll we'll
18:45get you the ball. It feels puka JSN.
18:49They're gonna The big question is, does Jackson play? Why don't you Why don't you play? I think he can run around,
18:54right?
18:56It's just like he he just never I like what how many normal Lamar Jackson interviews have you seen.
19:02>> Yeah, I don't know any.
19:06>> Even Zay Flowers was kind of ky about it. They were asking him, you know, what what his status was. He's like, he's
19:11working in the right direction.
19:14>> When they asked Huntley, they were like, "Well, what are you doing for Sunday?"
19:17And he was like he was like kind of just like, "Are you planning to play?" And they're like, "Well, are you playing his
19:21guy? I don't know.
19:26He's been there so long. He He's He knows He knows the deal.
19:33Uh, all right. 49ers at Falcons, man. I mean, we talked about whether Jackson's going to play. Uh, Mike Evans
19:42probably not going to play. Um, you know, the scary, you know, leave leaving the field, checking checking on his Achil anytime a guy's reaching for his
19:51Achilles, uh, you're never never feeling good about that. But in this case, just Achilles tendonitis flare up.
19:56Fortunately, um I've been assuming he will not play, but I guess it's possible he will. He did play last week when it
20:03seems like maybe he shouldn't have.
20:05Although again, then again, he had 5.88 yards per hour run. So like he's kind of right in that like when he's on the
20:10field, he's still going to be awesome, but like get like a little healthier maybe. But um you know, Evans in in a
20:18sense like you'd think Evans would have a massive impact on this game. I'm not I'm not sure like he does because George
20:25KD's playing so well and then they can kind of scheme up other stuff. They might have Christian Kirk back. Uh you
20:32know, Brandon Cooks is probably going to be a bigger role regardless which shouldn't matter but but probably does because it's like Jordan Watkins, Jacob
20:39Cowing, their other receivers. Um Kyle Yusek will run routes. They'll throw a ton to Christian McCaffrey.
20:46they do have in KD and McCaffrey two legit playmakers even with like no wide receivers. Um and so I I kind of think
20:55they'll get there and score points even if Evans doesn't doesn't play and and hope and I kind of don't want him to
21:01play even as you know someone who has Mike Evans in fantasy drafted a good amount of them on best in baseball
21:06especially on DraftKings and has been enjoying how how good he's been but you know he he needs to get healthy. Yeah,
21:14100. Well, he's been so critical. Uh I say he I do think the 49ers like will still manufacture production because like they still have KD McAffrey, but
21:23there is it is a variable though that could lower the floor. Like we saw the second half them be really poor with
21:28Evans off the field. They're they're 20th in EPA as an offense. And it's because he's been so big on third downs.
21:35Like he's he's number one in the NFL and EPA created on third downs. He was he was leading the NFL in target share on
21:42third downs at 44%. Um >> he leads the NFL in first downs per route run as well.
21:48>> Yeah. I mean he's just converting all these big like when they've needed like a big play on a money down he's made
21:53he's been the dude. So like it you do remove that component but we have seen like I said like Kyle Shanahan be able
21:58to create and he does have two really good players he can still create with.
22:01It's just a variable in the game. I'm not really counting on any of the other guys though. like Watkins and Cooks
22:08probably play the most. Kirk has remember Kirk hasn't played since July.
22:12Like this injury is from July. So like >> also he was awful last year >> and and in 2024 he was awful.
22:22>> Yeah. Yeah.
22:23>> So >> it's been a it's been a while.
22:25>> So I don't I don't I >> mean Brandon Cooks has been awful for a long time too. So it's you know the bar
22:30is low. Jordan Watkins is a like a guy I learned about, you know, a few weeks ago kind of thing. It's not Jacob Cowing has
22:39one yard he he has had at least 11% rap participation and and 32% or higher in in uh five to six weeks. He has one game
22:48above zero yards per out run and it was 0.53.
22:52>> Yeah. I mean he last week I mean he he hardly played but because they didn't really after 11 Evans left they didn't
22:58play any load person. He didn't even need a target like >> Yeah.
23:01>> just Yeah. So like I'm not really counting on any of these guys. I think it's going to be cuz they were they're
23:06on buy next week. I think it's they're going to load up McAffrey. They're going to load up KD. Um and what's interesting
23:11about McAffrey is last week he was finally like we saw the ceiling version of McAffrey. But what's interesting is they didn't change his rushing role at
23:19all. Like it basically stayed the same.
23:21But because they had no Mike Evans, they had to ramp him up as the pass catcher.
23:26like he had been kind of >> 36% target share.
23:28>> He had just been kind of floating around like it like you know since that week one target share he just kind of it was
23:34like dipping and then kind of just wasn't really great and then but like I that's what's exciting about Chris McAffrey is he I think they're going to
23:41have to use him as a pass catcher again here and that's what unlocks kind of like the the ceiling for McAffrey
23:47because he already has like that monopoly on all the touchdown stuff. So we want the the eight the seven to eight
23:52target McAffrey like the reception guy.
23:55This is I thought about having him as the cover boy because it's just it's such an obvious spot for him to be used
24:00that way and like literally just saw it happen. Uh the other thing is that the Falcons have been a pretty big pass
24:08funnel. Teams have a 5% pass rate of expected against them, 4% shift to the pass, 68% pass rate from opponents. And
24:16the 49ers, you know, in the in the past have been kind of a run first, sometimes runheavy team, but they have been pretty
24:23aggressive this year. They have a 5% proe on first and 10 and 3% overall. And they've had a very low expected pass
24:31rate of 54%.
24:33That is the lowest expected pass rate in the NFL this year. And they're they're passing, you know, more than that, 3%
24:40more than that. So they're they look a lot like the Chiefs this year where they're a really good team, but they're
24:45they're featuring their passing game when they don't have to. uh not to the extent of like a team like the Bengals,
24:51but still I mean this is this is a team that we were used to kind of playing more like the Seahawks or something like
24:56that. And they're they understand right now that the strength of their their team is Brock Perie, you know, with McCaffry's rushing efficiency declining
25:04and and Kalin Black being like a fine secondary runner but but not being particularly efficient either. He's actually been worse than than McAffrey
25:11in the advance stuff. So yeah, I think they probably like without receivers, literally without wide receivers, >> no wide rece they probably, you know,
25:22pass less. But I but I do think that this is a a situation where I don't expect the the 49ers to just kind of
25:29hide the passing game and and get really conservative. Like if they want to put up points here, then they probably do
25:35need to pass. And even if those are short passes to McAffrey like that, that's fine. You know, those works out quite well for us.
25:44>> Yeah, 100%. And and and we're still trying to figure out like the Falcons in general, like they got off to a hot
25:49start, but they kind of might be who we thought they were this preseason when they were like, "Oh, man." Like they're
25:53they lost all these pass rushers. Like the secondary looks bad. Obviously Terrell's been out and like Bryce Young carved up in week two. Um which was
26:02like, you know, the top show showings of this this year, this season have basically been like facing bad offensive lines. Uh remember they faced the
26:10Steelers in week one who were starting two different guys than they're starting now on the right side. Green Bay and like that Thursday night debacle where
26:17like they just all had turn everyone was a turn style in that game. And then the Saints the week after that when the
26:22right when Kelvin Banks got hurt, but it's just like you know are they kind of who they thought uh we thought they were
26:28like these past couple weeks. So is it starting to catch up to like the reveal of like no like they just had a couple
26:33things break their way early in the season but like it's still pretty bad.
26:36See, they've resorted to like what I refer to as angry blitzing, >> like when you can't stop someone. It's like in Madden, which I'm just obviously
26:43a blitz. So, they they've had their two highest blitz rates of the league of the season the past two two weeks. And it
26:50feels like they're getting a little frustrated and trying to manu the Giants are doing this, too. When we get to the
26:54Giants, we'll talk about it. Like, they realize, well, we can't rush the pass here. What should we do? I don't know,
26:57man. Send everyone. Just send them.
26:59>> The Giant situation looks quite a bit more dire to me, but I I agree with that. like the Falcons strength has been
27:05their ability to get to the passer.
27:07>> They're not they they do look more vulnerable on the back end and so if that if they're, you know, struggling to
27:12continue to generate pressure, then >> that's a big problem for them. They've been pretty solid against the run as well. So it's not again like the matchup
27:19dynamics don't make it, you know, make a ton of sense to to go really run heavy.
27:24And that one of the reasons that I like looking at the pass funnel stuff is that especially like early in the season, you
27:29know, some of these numbers aren't telling the whole story on these defenses. And so you see like, hey, teams are throwing on this team at a
27:36really high rate.
27:37>> Bet they're not that scared, you know?
27:39>> Yeah. Bet they're not that scared of it.
27:42>> Yeah. So, you know, you can't you can't really look at this Falcon defense, which in in some metrics, I mean, like
27:48they're still second in pressure for the full year and it's like, oh, damn. Like, this is a fearsome pass rush, but as
27:54you're as you're saying, maybe not maybe not one that the 49ers can be overly scared of.
27:58>> Yeah, that that's kind of where my takeaway was. I mean, like I said, there's an added variable. Like, we can't just ignore like Mike Evans be out
28:05having like no impact, but I think there's still enough here for Pertie to be successful and efficient because he's been he's played that way all year. Um,
28:13and then they still have two really good players that they can use. It's not like they're completely like uh, you know,
28:19out here. Like when we get to the Rams, like if Puka's out like on top of Adams and we're just like, "All right, well,
28:24what's left here?"
28:26>> Yeah, dude. Yeah. Yeah, we'll we'll get to that. I'm like, it's like Kyron actually be in the slot or something.
28:33>> It's not George KD. It's not Christian McCaffrey. And also these two guys, McCaffrey and KD, the the beauty of them
28:39is they are versatile players.
28:41>> Like you can use them in different capacities. Like Kyle, I almost think Kyle Shannon likes [ __ ] like this too
28:46where he's like, "Ah, watch me." Heck's probably going to score a touchdown in this game. You know, and you know that
28:51there's going to be like a set where like usech and KD are like both lined up as like fullbacks with McCaffrey in the
28:58back field and then they like all run routes or some dumb [ __ ] >> Yeah. Oh yeah.
29:02>> Be some crazy stuff.
29:04>> Absolutely.
29:06>> All right. Falcons implied team total of 23.5. They're expected to to score some points here as well. Uh 49ers are 26. So
29:14this is a you know like the first game we talked about. This game is is one where the offenses are expected to push
29:20each other even without the 49ers having Mike Evans most likely. Um but Michael Pennix is coming off a really poor game.
29:29Uh you just 13th percentile in EPA per play last week with a mark of 9.5 EPA.
29:36Um you know pretty rough outing gets a 49ers defense that has been pretty solid. What what was the latest on Nick
29:43Bosa? you >> he's not the latest was that both Evans and Bosa were unlikely to play. They didn't that's what they said unlikely.
29:52>> That is helpful. But they also, you know, they've been good even without Bosa. Uh 49ers are sixth in passing DVA,
29:5914th in EPA, fifth in drop back success rate. Um so this sets up as as a challenge for for Michael Penn. Um,
30:08however, you can run on the 49ers and teams are doing that. They're seeing a minus 7% POE against them. Uh, a 4%
30:16shift to the run and so I think likely we'll see the uh the Falcons lean on on Bejian Robinson here um as they you know try to keep up with
30:27a 49ers defense that's not as or offense that you know that's not going to be at full strength. 49ers have have in some
30:35rushing metrics look good against the run, but they're 29th in success rate.
30:39So, the way that I wrote it up is like if you let Bejian Robinson like consistently get past the first level,
30:47>> the fact that you have previously held opponents in check and and not allowed big plays in the run, like that's not going to matter. Like, don't
30:55let Bejon have the chance if you're if you're letting him have a solid success rate. you're not stuffing him, he he's
31:00eventually going to be hitting really big plays and and consistently ripping off longer chunk runs than you've given up to that point. So, I think this is a
31:08pretty nice setup for Bejon.
31:10>> Yeah. Uh the 49ers, we've talked about it a couple times like it's weird like they're 27th in yards allowed before
31:15contact, but they're second and it's like eventually that dam's going to break. And when you look at >> and when you look at the 49ers schedule,
31:21you kind of understand that, right? Like look at they face the Commanders on Monday night. The week before that the Seahawks, you know, without Jerian Price
31:29the week before that, the Broncos >> the week the Broncos the week before that with Dobbins uh and then the Cardinals the week before that, the
31:36Dolphins the week before that and then the Rams to open the year. Like it kind of makes sense, right? Like I know that
31:41we're like six weeks in and we're starting to use like full season stuff, but like we're also six weeks in and
31:45some teams have played wildly different schedules than other teams and the 49ers run schedule feels that way. The other thing we have in this matchup is Kevin
31:53Skansy took a bunch of heat last week for his game management in the first half. Uh four Bjan Robinson runs where
32:02he was running hot to 14 Michael Pennes.
32:05Uh I we've seen teams do this before and the head coach kind of gets like called out for it and what do they do the next
32:11week? They run the dude.
32:12>> Yeah, that's so true.
32:14>> And we don't have Brian >> as the broadcast talked about it.
32:17>> They wanted they told us we sat down with Kevin Stfans. He said, "You want to get Bejian rolling?"
32:22>> Yeah.
32:22>> And no, Brian Robinson. I saw someone had to note uh I I I apologize not be able to credit the person that had this
32:28that this first time in in Bejan Robinson's career where the direct backup hasn't played.
32:34>> Like you think like Alier never missed the game. This is like I mean obviously it's just basically Alier never missed
32:38the game while he was there until now.
32:39Like then Brian Robinson's out, but they don't have Brian Robinson. So it's like you don't even have to worry about like
32:44cuz like even just like four to six carries matter for a dude like Bee and Robinson. That's could be a 70 yard run
32:49like you know for him >> the one thing that sets up for this matchup that we haven't seen >> and I know Gretch wrote about this I
32:56wrote about this in the offseason too >> is like especially like last week it's a bummer that Beijian Robinson gets he
33:04should never get game scripted out of a game but they're not throwing to him and since Michael Penn took over >> sometimes it's weird
33:12>> he has a 12% target share since Penn took over but here's the thing he's only he has minus4 14 air yards with Michael
33:19Penn. Like it's all just stuff like just near either a checkdown or like maybe we're setting something up for him, but
33:25they're not doing anything cool with him. Um and last year was a real big outlier because I know Gretch is the the
33:31big running back area yards piece this off seasonason. And I wrote about this too. I was like, man, BJ Robinson like
33:35had like he had well over 100 areas last year and like we have never seen that before from him and now we're like right
33:42back cuz I hope that doesn't become a career outlier because this is a dude you want to get into space and the 49ers
33:48are 31% of the receptions against the 49ers are to running backs the highest rate in the league. Like this would be a
33:53great spot to use Beijian Robinson in the complete like all world capacity that like we know he should be used at.
34:01He did have a 19% target share two weeks ago and he had 22 expected points in that game. Didn't deliver uh in the box
34:09score with minus 6.2 fantasy points over expected. So two weeks ago he had a pretty awesome workload. His third highest the year um you know with
34:18targets being a big part of that. He he's had 6% target shares though in the other two games over the last three
34:24weeks. So >> there's some definitely kind of more boom bust quality to his receiving role for sure. But I think there is a ceiling
34:30to it too.
34:31>> He should be like, man, 15% or higher.
34:34Unless you're dusting a team >> totally >> like every week like he should be part like getting him the ball in space
34:39should be like part of the game plan.
34:41>> He's 16% for the year. So >> well remember the Cooper Rush game in week one was like >> that's true. The Cooper Rush game
34:49>> that 56.
34:50>> Didn't he have a 50% target share or something?
34:52>> Yeah, 53%. Yeah, it was 53.
34:59in a 53% target share and only 23 expected points. Like that should be that should be like 50 expected points and you have a 53% target
35:09>> like a lot.
35:10>> I just mean I think like I think all of us outside look again like this clearly a dude that should be part of like
35:15getting him the football.
35:17>> Yeah. Yeah. But I mean the matchup sets up for for them to do that. Um, you know, as you mentioned, there's kind of
35:25a narrative around them like going way too pass heavy last week. They had a 79% pass rate last week, seventh highest
35:32mark of the season, which was and it was also above expected. So, it's not like they had, you know, an 85% expected pass
35:38rate, which would be nuts. Um, it's like they they leaned into a really pass heavy environment and they might, you know, kind of course correct there a
35:47little bit. So, >> yeah. Yeah, I mean first half he had six touches for 43 yards in the first half.
35:52Clearly not enough. Like >> Yeah, maybe.
35:56>> It's weird to see a team like get away from a star running back. Like that's that's so unusual, you know.
36:01>> Yeah. Yeah, definitely. It was it was and it was an odd game. Obviously, they lose the two special teams fumbles,
36:06which is weird, but uh here it makes a lot of sense because they're also going up against, you know, Raheem Morris, who
36:12was the Falcons head coach. uh you know structurally one knows what he he knows Michael Penn and then two plays a style
36:19of defense and obviously like Michael Penn knows his defense too from practicing against him but he plays a style of defense that like really
36:25doesn't suit itself to like the way Michael Penn wants to play you know throwing the ball downfield like not taking checkdowns like that's not really
36:34what he does and it's like you know um it's going to play into the hands potentially of what the 49ers want to do
36:40too also two week last two weeks I don't know if it's an anomaly or like what the reason is, but they've gotten a ton of
36:46pressure the past two weeks. Uh, which we kind of talked about after losing Bos. It's like, oh, it's going to be
36:50like last year where they just can't rush the passer anymore. In the past two weeks, big time pass uh uh pressure
36:57rates, which is pretty significant because if they can rush the passer, like the way they've played pass defense, like that's, you know, like,
37:03oh, this is a problem that this defense could be a real problem.
37:08>> Yeah. Yeah, I've also noted in in the walkthrough that we've seen Drake London hasn't actually gotten a ton of double
37:14coverage this year. He's 39th percentile in double coverage rate and the 49ers like don't always go nuts double covering guys, but we they've gone like
37:23they they've hit guys with pretty high rates at times. Stefon Diggs saw 36% rate last week. They were pretty aggressive on Courtland Sutton 37%.
37:31Caleb Douglas back in week two was at 35%. Damonte Adams at 43% back in week one. Um, so you have the potential for
37:42them to just say, "You're not beating us with Drake London." Uh, which they probably should do, >> which they should. Yes.
37:48>> Yeah. So his his setup is, I think, a little bit boom bust. I still like a high-end wide receiver. One, the ceiling
37:54here is is undeniable, but he's, you know, it's a little bit of a potential, >> you know, like he's just, it's just like
38:02kind of a slog trying to get him the ball. like he has like a 25% targets per out run, but but not a particularly
38:08efficient day kind of kind of thing, which should be fairly easy to envision because that's exactly what happened last week against the Bears. Um he was
38:15at 1.59 yards per out run with the 26% targets per hour run.
38:18>> Yeah. Yeah. He had he still had the 10 targets, but they were inefficient.
38:22They're not using him in the red zone as much as he which I assume will will shift eventually, but he only has 10% of
38:27their red zone targets right now. He's never been below 30% in his career because he's the only receiver in the top 30 without a touchdown still.
38:35>> Um, which we know eventually with his type of volume will will happen.
38:38>> And his skill set. I mean, the dude is >> he's a big dude. Yeah. He's a big He's a red zone weapon. Uh,
38:43>> rebounder type. Yeah.
38:45>> Yeah. So, so this would be a spot to maybe like say if he did not as efficient like maybe we can at least get
38:50him in the box to smooth it out.
38:52>> Any thoughts on Kyle Pittz who's he's had his two best games over the last two weeks?
38:56>> Yeah, it's a little weird, right? like he didn't do anything until the game got like crazy last week. Yeah. And anytime
39:01that happens, it's always kind of like, well, was he so because he wasn't really part of the base game plan, right? Like
39:07he had three targets before the fourth quarter. Like wasn't really part of the game plan and then scores the two touchdowns at the end of the game. And
39:14it's like, oh well, what do we really have here? Like top down I want to be excited because his target shares have
39:18gone up, but then I'm like, well, he only got those targets like at the end of like a really crazy game. So it's
39:24like it's still really tough. Also, I tend to I'm always hesitant with tight ends against the 49ers because of Fred Warner. Like, I'm I'm always just like,
39:31well, not really expecting this dude to go nuts on Fred Warner anyway. So, >> I get it though. It's there's a lot of
39:37buys. Like, the guy's been playing like he's got a couple touchdowns. So, like maybe if you're throwing him in, it's fine. But, my expectations are still
39:42muted because he hasn't really been involved in the base offense and then the matchup I always respect.
39:49Man, this is it. It could be if they if they just lean into it, it could be such a clean setup for throwing to Bejon
39:55because you have the potential for double coverage on London. Fred Warner takes hits away. Now you have Jan Dodson in in single coverage or you just throw
40:04it to Bejian in space. I'm going to take the latter myself. But >> right, >> uh Browns a Titans. Um man, I I don't
40:13know where where do you want to start on this one?
40:18>> Yeah, man. Ray joked and said this was the the fewest amount of words I wrote about a game.
40:28>> How many words?
40:29>> I don't know. It was still I It was still too many. I think I think it was still too many.
40:34You know, we'll probably say too many about this game.
40:37>> Yeah, we'll probably say too many. Um let's talk about Cardinal Tape. He he looks pretty awesome.
40:42>> Yeah, he's good.
40:43>> He's really good. uh coming off at 32% targets per route run against the Colts with 96% route participation. Uh those
40:51are both not season highs. He had 97% against the Giants and 36% targets per route run against the Ravens back in
40:57week four. Uh he had 3.18 yards per route run against the Colts, also not a season high. Uh he was 4.39 against the
41:04Ravens. He had 19 PPR points, which is second to the Ravens game at 23.5. So this was not like the true breakout. the
41:12breakout game was was back before, but this is kind of following up that game after a down game against the Texans.
41:18And he's now up to 1.95 yards per hour run for the season. Um, he gets uh a Browns defense that plays a ton of man.
41:27Tate only, you know, small sample, we have nine targets uh against man so far in his entire career. Um, he does have
41:35an elite 27% targets per out run against man. uh just 1.76 yards per out run, but he has a 17.2 ADOT against man. So, it's
41:45kind of interesting, you know, maybe we see him give up big used in a variety of ways. Yeah.
41:50>> And so, yeah, I mean, this this sets up is and and like we kind of need that, right, with Cam Ward. like we just we
41:56need him to to be able to hit >> some big plays and make his day on on a couple targets or you know you know a
42:03few accurate passes because you can't count on him to just get peppered with high quality targets throughout an entire game. So sets up as as a nice
42:11spot for for Carnell Tate mostly because Tate looks awesome.
42:16Yeah, this is uh because look, this is the type of guy you want against the Browns because you're not going to
42:21success rate the Browns to death, but because they're aggressive and like a Cam Ward is not going to success rate anyone to death.
42:27>> Not success anyone >> like so, you know, but when the Browns because of the the style of defense that they play, they do give up big plays to
42:37receivers and like big time yards per catch. So, like they're 29th in yards per catch. like this is like a a
42:43downfield target in one-on-one situations, right? Like this a guy that can win in one-on-one. It was all over his college profile. Um so this this
42:52works out really good. Especially like I think one of the most hilarious things of last week is Cam Carnell Tate's box score in junction
43:00with Cam Ward's box score because you're like, "Oh, he had six for 70 and a touchdown." Like that's a pretty solid
43:06game. His quarterback completed 11 passes for 102 yards. like like like it's he had 70 he had 70% of
43:18the guys passing yards. Like he also drew a 40 yard pass interference penalty in that game.
43:23>> Yeah, man.
43:24>> Uh >> he's the offense right now.
43:27>> Yeah. So like I I still I like him. I like him from DFS perspective. I like him from like obviously we always are
43:33going to have to price in volatility with him because of a situation but but like yeah I is like a like a boomer bust
43:40like wide receiver too like in the he's like I think I'm like 22 or something this week >> dude I literally have him at 22. I I
43:45took out the uh the guys from last night so you know it's just the players remaining to play but he's literally
43:51just 22.
43:52>> Yeah. And and there's a chance he could still be >> he he has two wide receiver one scoring weeks the past three games. He has also
43:58a wide receiver 99 scoring week because this is the life where we live here.
44:03>> Yeah, man.
44:05>> Another note uh you know an optimistic note for Tate is that the Titans so they open the season with 6% pass rate
44:13expected. Um but they were minus 7% on first and 10. So kind of like this either we're going either way here. like
44:19they were they were really conservative on first down in neutral situations, which is which is a bearish sign for their faith in Ward, but they passed
44:26more than expected overall. Then they went super conservative against the Eagles in a game they almost won and then super conservative against the
44:34Giants in that rain game in week three.
44:36Uh since then though they've they've changed things up. They've had pass rates over expected of minus one, one, and minus three. So, you know, fairly
44:44neutral, kind of balanced, but on first and 10, zero, five, and then 14% last week. So, they actually got aggressive on first and 10. And to be honest,
44:53that's like what I want to see the most with the Titans because it's it's really about just like doing everything you can
45:01to set up Cam Ward for success. Like if you're telling me you're going to give me like six extra uh garbage time chucks
45:10or like three, you know, like neutral script first down throws like give me the first down throw. Give me like, you
45:17know, when things are things aren't just like >> desperation mode. Um because you know those chucks they get they get kind of
45:25ugly when the when the deep when the pass rush is just pinning their ears back and and crushing him as he throws
45:32the ball like it's it it gets tough. So uh so that that made me feel better about you know kind of where Dable is
45:39with with how you know he's calling these games. He he does seem like he's at least trying to uh to pass the ball
45:46more in neutral situations over the last few weeks. Maybe he's also encouraged by, you know, what they have in in Carninal Tape because having a receiver
45:53like this does change the offense. It >> does.
45:57>> Yeah. And Yeah. And it just basically like you have a game here like if you're on buys or you know, you need a dude
46:02soaking up volume like this is a game you would expect at least like Tony Pard to have touches uh and be involved in
46:08the offense because they're probably even if the Browns are winning this game, they're probably not going to run completely away from the Titans. So, if
46:15they're doing what you said and like they're keeping this like, you know, more like, hey, we're we're gonna try to like, you know, pass early, but like
46:21also we're gonna incorporate the run still. Like, that would be him at least just getting touches. That's it. That's like that's really all I have with the
46:27Titans. if you didn't know like anything about if you like were new to the sport and like came in and like someone like
46:34taught you everything but you just had no like prior knowledge of the sport before this week I think you'd have Tony
46:42Pard rank like reasonably high because he sets up pretty well here but but you when I was like doing my rankings I was
46:50like >> oh yeah >> but if this doesn't work it's like so bad the floor is like he he doesn't they're not throwing to him at all he's
46:57literally over the last two weeks a 3% and 0% target share. Um and like he has he really has to get in the end zone and
47:05he's just he's done that once all year.
47:07So >> um it gets it's just you know a bet on a pretty decent setup and he's run well.
47:13That's kind of what I mean where you might have him ranked pretty high. It's like hey he's he's got a 48% rush yards
47:18over expected success rate. That's running back four three rush yards over expected per game. That's running back 20. Like he's he's running pretty pretty
47:24well. It's like, yeah, well, if he doesn't score a touchdown, you're going to wish he played someone else. So, I have him as a highend RB3. But, but I
47:30agree with that's that's where I got him. Yeah, I basically I wrote him up literally my thing was he's a touchdown
47:36needy RB3, but he's probably going to get touches. So, sometimes you throw those guys in lineups because you have no other no other alternatives,
47:42especially in a week like this.
47:44>> 100%. Wando Robinson is kind of the wide receiver version of that, I guess. at wide receiver four. I I have him at, you
47:51know, he's a >> he's a guy you can kind of use as a fill in. Um Brown's side, uh you know, Casey
47:59Conpsion cleared the protocol last week, did end up playing, but got absolutely hit with a ton of double coverage. 41% double coverage rate by the Ravens. Kind
48:10of took him out of that game. Uh 1.09 yards per out run. Um we ended up seeing Jerry Judy step up. Yeah. Yeah,
48:18>> which felt pretty bearish for someone who has Harold Fannon. I'm like, you're going to take away Casey Conpsion and Jerry Judy's the guy, not not even
48:26Denzel Boston, who I also drafted. Uh, that wasn't that wasn't ideal. But they now get a Titans defense that has been
48:33pretty bad and extremely bad at at generating pass rush. 28th in in quick pressure rate, 28th in pressure rate.
48:39They don't blitz either. Third lowest blitz rate. Uh, so this this could be a nice setup for like when I was writing
48:45this up like, you know, Titans are a run funnel. We've talked about this in the past where, you know, teams are just
48:50running all over them, but not because they're that bad against the run, just because they don't respect the Titans.
48:54Truly a disrespectful runfunnel. Um, but this is also a this is a worse pass defense than run defense. And so I I
49:02kind of expect Deshun Watson, who's been pretty bad for the last two weeks, but has also been good at points this year,
49:08this could be a more efficient game for him for sure.
49:11>> Yeah, in all likelihood, it will look a lot better than it has in recent matchups, you know.
49:17uh Ravens, they played that game in the rain with the against the Jets where Isaiah Bond probably costed him a good
49:23amount of yardage and and points as well in that game. Um so he should get a little bit on track here too. Maybe like
49:29a viable QB2 type of play and you hope that maybe he runs around and turns something uh into it. like is this a
49:36spot too like the Browns like you know have a chance to run a little bit more too uh with Judkins coming back and it
49:41looks like Dylan Samson like they both guys will be back this week and it'll kind of get back to >> uh the backfield that that we would have
49:48had at the start of the year. Um it's just like >> throwing to Judkins even with you know like >> even with Samson and and obviously
49:55Samson should have a role there too but >> Judkins has a 14% target share this year and that's kind of saved his value. Um,
50:02so if if they do throw and kind of move things through the air, that's not bad for Judkins. Um, and obviously good for
50:09Samson.
50:10>> Mhm. But they face a ton of touches.
50:12Like these guys are going to get touches because the Titans are bad. Uh, they face 29 backfield touches per game. So
50:18even if it's their your guys not only getting three and a half yards per carry, like they're going to like they're just going to be probably a
50:25script to touch the ball.
50:27>> Yeah. Because even if the Titans even if the Browns lose this game, I don't want to make it like say like the Browns are
50:31even going to dogwalk them even though they're f like but like even if the Titans are ahead, it's doubtful they're ahead to the point where the Browns are
50:38still like throwing out like their base offense.
50:40>> That's the thing, right? The Titans can't push anyone off the run. Like they just haven't gotten anywhere near that.
50:48So, >> and the Browns defense isn't great, but it's not, you know, I guess the Browns offense could just be so putrid that
50:56they're down they're down 14 by by not scoring. It's like hard it's hard to be down 14 if you've scored to the top.
51:04>> These these teams played a really fun game last year. That was the the week Shador Sanders was QB1.
51:09>> Oh, yeah.
51:10>> But I mean, I'm not not really expecting like I'm not going to chase that as like the outcome here, >> right? I Yeah. Yeah. I do think that
51:18Watson could What What are your thoughts on the the Browns pass catchers?
51:22>> I mean, I like him. It's just, you know, this is a tough team to like because it's it's tough to project consistency
51:26with this team, right? Like, we we we understand the top down roles. It's just these guys have kind of been frustrating
51:32from like a weekly perspective because of the volatility of just the quarterback and the offense in general, right? Like, yeah, these I mean, these
51:39guys look like good young receivers.
51:41Like, you're you feel pretty bullish on big picture. It's just short term there.
51:47There's just a lot of volatility here.
51:48Like Boston, you know, is is basically like he's like second in the NFL in route participation. Like doesn't come off the field, but he's also averaging
51:5617, you know, air yards per target, right? And like so it's like he and with the quarter that'd be great if like he
52:02was like a quarterback you had like a lot of faith in, but just like we live on a lot of volatility with uh Deshun
52:07Watson inherently.
52:09>> Uh so it's like it it's just like young player earning targets downfield. like he's very much in like an Alec Pierce
52:15type role, but like also with an inefficient quarterback. So, it's it's kind of frustrating. You kind of like he's a guy like you you either leave in
52:22your lineup and you just soak up the bitter with the sweet or like you kind of don't want him on your roster because
52:27you're going to get him wrong a lot of weeks.
52:29>> If you've been leaving him in your lineup, I would leave him in your line here for this week. Yeah. Yeah.
52:35>> Um but yeah, it's it's just a inherently boom bust role.
52:40>> Uh and you play with Deshaawn Watson.
52:42>> Yeah. All right, that's what it is.
52:44>> Let's move to the the Colts at Vikings.
52:47I wrote this up as like, hey, has there ever been like a coach and a quarterback who needed to get right spot more and
52:54then and then they play Brian Flores instead?
52:59It's pretty brutal. What What are your thoughts on uh the the Vikings defense and the Colts offense here?
53:04>> Yeah, I mean the Colts have just kind of put the writings on the wall here, right? Like they fired their GM this
53:09week. It feels like they're getting ready to scorch some earth. Like absolutely >> in a bad like like bearish scorched earth.
53:17>> And this is a team that has no first round picks for a while like and the guy they traded their first round picks is
53:24not playing in this game >> like um it feels like yeah we are approaching the >> and they signed Daniel Jones. You you
53:32franchise tagged these guys. How many times we talked about this >> specifically with Daniel Jones? Like stop not franchising Daniel Jones.
53:43>> It's crazy, man. The Giants and now the Colts. Like yeah, real rough spot here.
53:49I think you know Daniel Jones is being really bad and he's had a couple matchups that should have been good.
53:55Like last week we just talked about the Titans should have been okay for him and was he was a disaster, dude. He threw
54:00two interceptions, 6.4 four yards or pass attempt.
54:04>> They lost to the Titans, man.
54:05>> They lost at home as seven-point favorites. They lost to the Titans.
54:08Like, um I know you do shows with Sanderson. Like, I imagine his morale is at a >> Well, the the running it's not really a
54:17bit, it's just like a frustration that he's had to deal with is that for whatever reason, he's like the furthest behind on the streams. So, we're all
54:26like talking about what's happening. And so we have to not spoil what happens in the Colts games except we constantly forget
54:35Davis is probably the worst defender. We just like >> shocking shocking shocking development.
54:40>> But I've done it too. We've all done it.
54:42>> And because you know you see something especially like with Tate last week when Tate's making these these nice catches and stuff I'm like oh.
54:49>> So you know he's he's sitting there and like it's frustrating. He knows what's going to happen as he's trying to follow
54:54his favorite team. After the end of the game, he goes, "Well, good news is, you know, you guys don't have to worry about
55:01spoiling anything anymore because I don't care what happens to this team."
55:06So, it's uh the loss may have may have broken him a little bit, which >> Yeah, it's just it's a broken
55:12>> it's a broken looking offense because the quarterback looks broken. Like, the quarterback just looks so bad. And you're going against Brian Flores out of
55:19a buy um where they had a buy, not you.
55:22You would like to have a buy before playing Brian Flores. Like every team would like a buy to prepare for for
55:27>> You would like to have a buy instead of playing Brian Flores.
55:29>> Yeah, they should.
55:32>> So I mean it's not You don't feel bullish about this passing game at any level. Like I mean you know
55:39>> I'm I'm trying to find ways to get Josh DS out of lineups. Like I God Tyler Warren's not playing in this game.
55:44>> Tyler Warren's not playing. That's not like the one thing I was like, well, you know, you got to get the ball out
55:50quickly. Tyler Warren's got this low A dot Yak player. You're going to be in kind of heavier personnel anyway.
55:56>> Yeah.
55:57>> And uh he's not playing. It's It's tough, man. You're You're literally looking at like Keenan Allen as the most reliable weapon uh over the last few
56:06weeks with Josh D kind.
56:08>> It's been It's been awful.
56:10>> Yeah. And he's not a guy like he just needs so many targets to get over. I mean last week I mean height for 82.
56:16You're like this is awesome. Like this is an awesome like >> what if I told you that he had a 53%
56:22target share in this game. Would you that be enough?
56:25>> Should you go full Bejian?
56:27>> It would be Yeah. And he he'd have what he I still wouldn't put him on 100 yards. Like absolutely not.
56:32>> No I think I would take the under. I think I would take the under because at that level you're like well something
56:37went horribly wrong in the offense for him to have that high of a target share.
56:41Vikings, the Vikings, you could like they will give up some chunk plays because of their nature uh and blow blow an assignment because they're so
56:49aggressive. But like who here like it would be downs, but then like Daniel Jones can't get the ball downfield. So it's just like it's just rough, man.
56:57It's it's hard to have any expectations at all for any of the passing game pieces. And like obviously Jonathan Taylor keeps finding ways to get there.
57:06Like that's good. like like he keeps he keeps finding way like he gets enough volume and keeps getting touchdowns that's that's all that matters.
57:14>> Yeah. Um their their current field stretcher is Laquan Treadwell.
57:20>> He's got uh eight dots of uh over the last so nine to start the year then 18 7.2 16.5 and and 12.6 like he is truly
57:31like you know downfield field structure.
57:33Little quiz here. Do you remember what Laquan Treadwell's 40 time was?
57:39>> Oh god, no.
57:40>> Back when he ran it >> at a proday, it was a proday 40, you know, not electronically timed. So this
57:46is going to be a little more favorable.
57:48>> Proday 40 >> back in 2016. This is now a 10year-old 40 time for Lacoan Treadwell.
57:56>> I'll say 458.
57:58>> 464.
58:01>> So it's like really like a 47.
58:03>> It's like a 47.
58:05I mean, good for Leon Treadwell. Good for him. So, >> he has a 13.3. ADA is their dedicated.
58:11>> Papa's catching checks. I mean, if you to tell me that Leon tread like at this point, I like good for, you know, good
58:16for him, man.
58:17>> Good for him. I less good for him that he's like stretching the defense, you know? Like, it would be fine if you told
58:24me like Lacoan Treadwell is like our big body. He's M. Holland. If he was there M. Collins, fine. Good for That's a true
58:30good for him. I was like, "How is this your field stretcher, man?"
58:35>> Yeah.
58:36>> Did I think they signed Micole Hardman?
58:37Did I see that?
58:38>> Oh, did they? That sounds >> I I think Yeah, they're That'll fix it.
58:46>> Deion Burks a little bit. Who is at least fast?
58:49>> Uh yeah, yeah, Deion Burke, but he's not he's not really a deep threat. He's more like get the ball in his hands, let him
58:55run. Yeah.
58:56>> Did you see the uh the blurb of I guess you didn't because you you didn't say this time. Uh, let me officially
59:03give credit here to to to Rivers who had uh, yeah, Colts add Mikall Hardman to practice squad. Rivers Macau wrote a
59:12world wrote it up. The the blurb just says that'll fix it.
59:17>> That'll fix it.
59:24>> Yeah, good stuff. Um, yeah. I mean, I don't know. There's not too much more to say here. Uh Jonathan Taylor, I I do
59:32think, you know, but but Taylor's like he's been pretty damn bad in in the rushing metrics. Um and they're not throwing to him a ton. It is
59:42>> a little gains in the receiving game.
59:44That's a kind of floated him. He's like he had a 38 yard catch last week >> and the week before he had a 24 yard
59:50catch.
59:51>> So >> yeah, he and he's looked I mean so so ESPN's receiver rating he's he's running back one there. He's like I don't know
59:58why they're not throwing to him more. I know that's not really his profile, but like >> and here it's tough because usually the
60:04running back doesn't catch passes against the Vikings because they make them block.
60:09>> Yeah, but just don't just like play a fullback or something. You know what I mean?
60:13>> Well, yeah. Listen, play the only guys that can do anything. Yeah. Yeah. Figure something else out because you have to
60:19get the ball in Jonathan Taylor's hands here. Um the the problem though is, you know, Vikings are also awesome against the run. I mean, it's just a good
60:27defense overall. Like really suffocating defense. They're great against the run, great against the pass. They're great efficiency wise. They will give a big
60:34play here and there, but like they don't care because like they just they're not going to let you bleed them out.
60:38>> Like that's the whole style of the defense is they will you will not success rate us. You will not.
60:43>> No. No.
60:45I don't know much about Brian Flores, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't have a Minecraft city.
60:49>> No, absolutely not. Well, he was with Tomlin one year, so like maybe I don't, you know, he went over his house once or
60:56twi like twice. I was like, you think Mike was like, Brian, let me show you this. Let me show you this.
61:03>> What do you think Brian Blair's reaction was?
61:05>> It's like, uh, >> I'm getting to work on blitzes, Mike.
61:14I mean, it's it's funny because you're starting to see they do it in a different fashion, but one of the themes, and if you watch the game last
61:19night, Dennis Allen's been doing this.
61:21It's kind of like every year there's like a new thing. Either an offense does that or a defense does it. And it feels
61:26like this year's thing is like we're going to run a ton of mug and bring everyone up to the line of scrimmage and
61:31you don't know who's blitzing and like >> Yeah. Yeah. They were breaking that down with the Bears yesterday.
61:35>> It feels like this is the thing for the defenses this year, bro. Jonathan Ganon is doing a ton of it. Uh you saw if you
61:41watch the Sunday night game with Dak and I like Brian Flores like this is what he's been doing for the last three
61:46years. Like he's literally putting eight dudes in the line of scrimmage and guys are bailing. They're getting to like quarter. They're really crazy cuz like
61:52they'll put eight dudes line of scrimmage and somehow end up in quarters like quarters coverage. You're like how the this happened. Uh it's crazy man.
62:00Like the dude is mad man.
62:02>> Yeah it's awesome. It's really fun. Uh and it's it's just like fun to see like how much more they're blitzing than the
62:07rest of the league. like how differently teams are playing them. Um, you know, it's kind of kind of like screw up
62:15various numbers, but it's, you know, they're so unique that it's it makes writing up their games fun.
62:20>> It it's not like a traditional like they're sending a blitz where it's like, you know, like they're running a like a
62:26ton of crazy stuff, dude. Like their five could their five could be three defensive backs and two defensive linemen. Like it's it's not like when
62:33like cuz we'll talk about the Bucks.
62:35Like the Bucks teams are just they know what the Bucks are going to do and it's actually hurting the Bucks. They just do
62:40the same [ __ ] every week. Like you can't do that with the like it's not like you can say like, "Hey, I know we're gonna
62:45get blitz slots, so let's have this install for like all these blitz." You don't know. They're all exotics. They're all exotics.
62:50>> All exotics.
62:53>> Like good luck, man.
62:55>> Yeah, for real. And I mean it's it's honestly so brutal. Like they fire the GM, keep the coach, and so like in that
63:02setup, you you need >> I mean Styen's going to coach the Eagles next year, isn't it? Are we not setting it up for him to go back to the Eagles?
63:09>> Well, does that mean Herz is there?
63:10What's What's the What are they doing?
63:11>> I know. I don't know. But isn't it doesn't it feel like we're on that trajectory? I'm making that up probably,
63:15but it just feels like like a narrative.
63:17>> It feels like it's a year or two too late, you know?
63:22>> I still think Stiken is a relatively good coach. It's just >> I do. I do too. I think that the the the
63:28GM Ballard obviously because you have no first round picks now and like you are careening like towards like a fire sale
63:35and not having a like it's a rough that's the roughest spot to be in.
63:40>> Yeah. Yeah, I mean I think I think the the deal with stiken is it's like it's a little bit of you know one of these
63:47formulas like some of these offenses are getting there where you're like yeah as long as like I mean the Eagles are kind
63:53of like this and we've seen it that fall apart but it's like you have you have all these pieces where you got the elite
63:59running back you know you've got a defense that has to account for for you attacking deep even though the quarterback's like not amazing they
64:08still have to account for that and you've got like really good kind of target earning players as well. Like the whole thing kind of fits together.
64:15But, you know, for the Eagles, like it took a little bit more because their offensive line was also elite and then,
64:20you know, now it's not. But the the Colts won it's like it's kind of crazy like they just lose Alec Pierce and I
64:28was like, "Oh, that was it." He doesn't It was like this one was crazy fragile.
64:33The whole thing's built on having a field stretcher and we don't have anyone on the team who can do that other than
64:38this guy with an ankle injury.
64:40>> I like, well, yeah, maybe the GM should get fired.
64:43>> Yep.
64:44>> 100%, man.
64:46>> On the Vikings side, uh Kyler Murray dead last in the league this year in success rate. He's only played three
64:52games, technically four, but he, you know, had that concussion early uh in week one. And so, you know, that's it's concerning to see him playing this
65:01inconsistently, but also should get better and is coming off his best game of the year against the Saints. He was 69th percentile in EPA per play. Uh 48th
65:10percentile and success rate, you know, pretty solid numbers, 8.8 EPA in that game, 46% success rate, which is quarterback 13 on the week. So, if he
65:18plays like he did against the Saints, he should be fine. He's also had two weeks to prepare for this matchup. And the
65:24Colts defense has has not been very good this year, even with Sauce Gardner. And they don't have s Sauce Gardner this
65:30week. They they're not rushing the passer well. They're 29th in pressure rate. Uh they're dead last in pass rush win rate, 21st in overall pressure rate.
65:38They don't really blitz.
65:40>> Um they play a ton of man, although will they this week without sauce? I mean, it would be really honestly kind of strange
65:48if they did play >> against >> man to the normal level against Justin Jefferson with a backup quarterback. I mean, Travarius Ward is is actually very
65:57good as well. Yeah. But yeah, it would just it just wouldn't make sense.
66:01>> Remember Jarvarius Ward is the one that gave up I think it was a 98 yard touchdown to Jefferson when when Sam
66:06Darnold was it was against the 49ers.
66:09>> Okay.
66:10>> I think I think I'm pretty sure it was him.
66:13>> I don't I'm I'm not sure. But yeah, either way, I I don't think you're going to play they're just going to have to pivot,
66:20right? They have to pivot to more zone, which in a way is unfortunate because Jefferson's been so good against man.
66:252.96 uh yards per run against man since entering the league in 2020. 3.76 this year, one of the the kind of classic man
66:33beating number one wide receivers, but also like he'll be fine regardless if if they play zone, he'll be fine, too.
66:40>> Yeah. a really good player that gets a lot of targets in a in a in a matchup that still is is soft. Uh I'm open to
66:47the Vikings still like trying to figure this out a little bit. Uh and the reason is I'm still pessimistic overall about
66:53Kyler's fit here, but they've only had nine total plays this year with Murray, Jefferson, Addison, and Hawinson on the field.
67:02That's it. Like, so it's like they're another team like that we just haven't seen the offense actually play together.
67:06there. So, I at least want to give them the benefit of the doubt before I'm like, it's a real problem that they have
67:10this offense with this defense. Uh cuz there's still a shot that could be functional enough with this defense that >> I like how you say you're willing to
67:16still give them a shot and they're six and0 or they're five and0. Yeah, sorry.
67:20>> Yeah. I mean, well, the the offensive metrics are deplorable right now.
67:24>> No, they are to the point to the point where you're just like >> the situation is so funny. Yeah, it is
67:28because like you said they are they are undefeated but like when you look at you're like there's no way this team can
67:32win a Super Bowl with like this these level of offensive metrics like but I'm I'm if they can get these to like the
67:38the the low teens like they get to like 18th in offensive EPA like that's something here like you know they just
67:46can't be 29. You can't be 29 man like you can't be like you can't be a bottom four team and expect to win a Super
67:51Bowl. They've got to get this like they've got to get this to like the like the mid-range. I think they probably
67:58will. I mean, they have Justin Jefferson, good secondary weapons. Kyler Murray has generally been a lot better than this. Like, even when he got
68:05benched last year, he's playing better than this. He's actually like his efficiency last year was, you know, closer to where he was last week than
68:12where he's been, you know, for the season. So, um I do think they'll get it. I don't think they'll be awesome,
68:18but I think they'll get it turned around more than the season long numbers would suggest. Um, one thing about this matchup though for, you know, for the
68:26passing game, um, is that the Colts are terrible against the run as well. And we have seen the the Vikings play with a
68:33lean to the pass. Um, and they're running a lot of play action. The Colts are pretty bad against play action. So,
68:40I would anticipate the Vikings being, you know, kind of it's almost like the Vikings and the 49ers traded places or something, you know, where you had the
68:48the 49ers typically being that run first team play actioning off of that and stuff and and the Vikings are kind of
68:54taking that place where 49ers, we talked about been more just straight up pass first this year. Um, but yeah, the Vikings, it makes a lot of sense to try
69:03to establish the run a bit with Jordan Mason returning and then play action off of that. Um I I I I think that's very
69:12likely how they attack this.
69:14>> Yeah. You know, giving Mason back can run the football. Probably don't have to ask Kyler Murray a lot. Like he was
69:20efficient last the last game because they were able to play more balanced and they were just having him make a lot of
69:25easy throws. A lot of stuff near the line of scrimmage. Uh throwing to uh who was the tight end they were throwing to?
69:31Bartholomew. Gavin Bartholomew.
69:32>> Oh yeah, Gavin Bartholomew. Yeah.
69:34>> Like cuz Hawinson ran one route before he had his concussion. So, they were down uh deep in the bag at receiver and
69:41so yeah, they just they kind of just asked him to manage the game and it feels like they're going to ask him to
69:45manage this game as well.
69:48>> Yeah, which isn't like the most fun thing, but uh again with with Justin Jefferson specifically, I think he could he could still have a pretty awesome
69:56game as part of that.
69:58>> Yeah.
69:59>> Any thoughts on the back field with with Mason back?
70:02>> I mean, it's Do they revert? has also revealed that apparently Aaron Jones has been playing with an MCL injury and like
70:08he's just been getting like a ton of work too. Like they they've known he's had a hurt MCL and they were like we
70:13need you just carry everything like do I get every touch. Uh but if week one was any reveal like they literally split
70:20these dudes right down the middle in every single role in week one. Like it was 48% snaps Mason 43% Jones 15 touches
70:2812 touches. They each had a a touch inside the five that they converted and they each ran seven pass routes. like it
70:33was like literally as even you could chop it >> which isn't great for us in fantasy but >> it's not but um as I said it's a really
70:43really nice rushing match up so >> and it might it might not it might not just go back with Mason coming back
70:49because it just like they're it's we had one game sample and it was all the way back in week one and Mason's coming off
70:54of an injury it's a thumb injury so maybe that's not like a that big of a deal but uh this Aaron Jones thing is
71:00weird it's hilarious because like you know He's literally gotten hurt two years in a row because of the workload they had to give him in certain spots
71:07the season. And it's like the same thing happened and they just kept giving him that workload.
71:10>> They Yeah. Yeah.
71:14I don't know if you saw it last night with DeAndre Swift. He he took that shot to the knee >> and they go Yeah. It looked like Swift
71:22hyperextended his knee on that play and then they cut to his uniform is like torn in half. Torn's all bloody. Yeah.
71:28He's bleeding. They're like, "Oh, it seems like he's fine." like you don't want to get that checked out.
71:36I I'm guessing he didn't actually hyperextend his knee because that would not be great. But um yeah, some of these guys are are nuts what they can play
71:44through.
71:44>> Yeah, it's different, man.
71:46>> Yeah, Dolphins at Jets. Uh man, we I I should have maybe ordered these games differently because there's
71:54some rough ones in a row here.
71:58Um, let's let's talk the Jets first because that's like a little bit uh more fun where you have this Dolphins pass
72:06defense that's been pretty bad. Um, but not everyone has gotten there against the Dolphins. It's kind of interesting.
72:12Perie, Mahomes, Burrow, this is what I was talking about earlier where some of these defenses have have faced some like legitimately awesome quarterbacks.
72:19>> Um, and all of those guys, Pury 100th percentile in EPA play against the Dolphins. Mahomes 94th, Burrow 91st, but Kyler was just 31st percentile uh a few
72:30weeks ago. Kirk Cousins in week one was 37th percentile. So, it's not like everyone has gotten there. Gino Smith very much, you know, a part of that that
72:37second group.
72:39>> Um and so this isn't like an absolute slam dunk. You also have the Dolphins run defense that that isn't great
72:46either.
72:47>> You could see the Jets who play pretty slow. They're 29th in situation neutral pace. They have a minus 3% pass rate
72:54expected. Um you could see them kind of just lean on the run and and kind of try to grind out a win against a Dolphins
73:01team that as we'll get to is not not good on offense uh or defense. But yeah, Brilen Allen it looks like is probably
73:08going to be carrying the load. Bruce Hall probably missing another game.
73:11>> No, he's going to play I think.
73:12>> Oh, he's going to play. Okay, so they're listing as question. So they're Aaron Glenn did his typical Aaron Glenn thing
73:18like another dude that's just super like he's not as cool as Lamar Jackson. He's just frustrating. Uh >> he's kind of Todd Boosezy, too, where
73:25it's like, "Do you know is the problem that you don't know?"
73:27>> That's basically how he played it. But every beat reporter and every person covering practice was like, "Bree Halls looked great. He like I don't see why he
73:34would every every beat was like I don't see why he wouldn't play. Like he looks great. He looks great like in practice."
73:40But you know, they did talk about like it being more of a split though potentially as well.
73:44>> Um because Allen has been really good.
73:47>> He's been really good.
73:47>> Yeah. Yeah. probably honestly a lot better than Bree Hall, >> right? And I'm a Bree Hall guy, but Allen is number one in the rush yards
73:54over expected success rate. 52% of his runs gotten more yards than expected.
73:59Um, running back 11 and rush yards over expected per game. He's been great. I mean, he doesn't offer them like anything as a pass catcher, but and and
74:08Bree Hall very much does, but I mean, >> as a runner, he's been really good. Um, and then Bree Hall would make sense as
74:17kind of like your like you we talked about Aaron Jones, Jordan Mason, young Aaron Jones, better Jordan Mason kind of kind of vibes.
74:26>> Yeah, absolutely. He's he's been awesome. especially like you know creating yards on his own which is where you could see this kind of going cuz
74:33Bree Hall's actually been bad in that retrospect for a couple years >> and it like does it turn out to where
74:38they start to use Bruce Hall as more of like a space player >> uh instead of like a full and that's
74:44probably what happens right like that's how the most that's how I see it playing out it's a bummer because this particular matchup because we don't get
74:50the Jets as home favorites very often like we would just like one dude to to just like we would love Bruce Hall to
74:56take one extra week and just have a 25 touch Brillan Allen game.
75:00>> Yeah, that would that's that's what I thought was going to happen just the way they were talking about it earlier in
75:05the week and I had him as a low-end RB1 with that assumption.
75:08>> If we still do get the Sunday and they hold him out a game because it's maybe the Dolphins, but like yeah, that's just
75:13>> it. He he Aaron Glenn just did the the thing you expect him to do with the media, but like all the dude everyone
75:20like at the practices was like dude he he looks just back like he looks completely fine.
75:27>> Yeah. So we so I think I think we're on the same page when he comes back. We are looking at a split. Um
75:33>> which is yeah, as you said, kind of a bummer.
75:36>> Omar Cooper's return has been super exciting. Um and then they also get AD Mitchell back this week. So we're looking at healthy healthy Jets
75:44receiving core really for the first time because Cooper got hurt in, you know, the his first touch. Um, you had last
75:52week Isaiah Williams was at 9% round participation with Cooper at 85% playing predominantly from the slot. So Cooper, you know, filled directly in for their
76:03previous slot receiver. He is their slot receiver. Tim Patrick kept, you know, reasonable route participation, 67%.
76:09He's just holding the seat for Adonai Mitchell who has a 15.2 ADOT. So that like this is like pretty clean, right?
76:18Like AD Mitchell's your your outside field stretcher. Garrett Wilson's your outside but versatile target earner. And Omar Cooper is kind of your yak slot.
76:28And all these guys look pretty good.
76:29Like they're all good to very good at those roles. Cooper might be in the very good camp based on what we've seen so
76:35far. He's been really fun. What are your thoughts on on these uh these weapons here for the Jets?
76:41>> Yeah, I like the fit and I like the the matchup for uh you know the potential upside. The Jets were a team I was like,
76:47"Oh, I'm like pretty into like these guys' talents if it comes together. They just really haven't played together yet." And from it turns out for like
76:55this week, like how we're treating for fantasy football, it's a little tougher because you always have to worry about the pass volume here against the
77:01Dolphins.
77:02>> Um, I do think they'll be efficient. I also think the Dolphins like structurally are a defense that are like made for Gino Smith to like be efficient
77:08against. We've only seen the Jets like really control one game though and it was back in week one and like they just
77:14turtled and like that's the worry like if like we do get the control version of the Jets, do they just turtle? I would
77:20love for them to actually be open and aggressive because I do think like >> 43% pass rate >> in week one in week one. Yeah.
77:28>> Yeah. Um >> and they and they won the game easily.
77:30>> Yeah. That's the worry cuz like they control the but cuz like you look at Gino Smith like he's not throwing
77:35anything downfield. second last in throw rate 10 or more yards downfield. But that's like what exactly you want against the Dolphins because they play
77:42all this base defense and on those throws 10 yards and in, dude, opponents have thrown 97 passes under 10 yards against the Dolphins. They've completed
77:5087 of them. Like this is and like Gino Gino is a a high success rate guy. Like you know what I mean? Like
77:57>> that's what he is. He's a like point guard just easy passes.
78:00>> It's set up. So like I would love for them to somehow get the 30 passes here.
78:04I don't know if they do, but like I think if Gino would throw 30 passes, I think he'd complete maybe like 24 of
78:10them in this game like like you would actually have something. It's just you were a little bit worried about the ceiling being capped from a uh an
78:18overall drop back perspective, but like you're playing Garrett Wilson. It makes it a little sketchier to take like flyers on on Cooper and Mitchell just
78:25because they they could be more volume.
78:26>> Cooper is is he fits that target volume type of play. Yeah, but these are they're also guys though that like are
78:33explosive players. Like one AD Mitchell is a different kind of explosive because he's getting hiat. But Cooper is like we haven't even really seen yet because
78:40he's just has such a small sample. But like you even go back to like >> all every year like he had the huge year
78:45was like all RPO stuff with Indiana. But if you go back to his his junior year, I think it was junior or sophomore year. I
78:50can't remember if he was an early player or not, but the year before he had over he had like a 21 yards per catch that
78:55year though too. Like >> he is he he is a splash play player too.
78:59He can do a lot on a little. It just it it becomes a little bit more volatile because we are going to see Garrett
79:05Wilson get back to getting more targets here because he's not going to be facing Christian Gonzalez this week. Like his early his early down targets plummeted
79:12last week because he was facing Christian Gonzalez and that's why Omar Cooper was able to have like the bump that he had last week. But I am still
79:21very much like into like these are very intriguing players that could create uh good good metrics on like few targets.
79:31>> So Cooper is and these are all I mean he's run 29 routes all season. So uh you know all of this is small sample stuff
79:38but he has 14% of his yards on screens which is 89th percentile. and he also has an 11.3 A DOT, which isn't super
79:46low, you know, and obviously screens are going to lower your A dot. So, he's he's seeing a mix of target types, you know,
79:54they're trying to get in the ball the ball in his hands really quickly and shallowly, but he he's also being used
79:58downfield to an extent. So, yeah, I mean, he he's like I mean, is it 4.59 yards per route run on those 29 routes?
80:06Like, he's been awesome. Uh, hard to say. You know, it it could be the case that like he ends up being like a a
80:14middling player for sure. Um, kind of a a a starter who doesn't do a ton going forward is possible. But there's also I
80:22that's not the world I'm I'm trying to live in here. I think he might be like an actually, you know, maybe probably
80:29more like a second fiddle type to to Garrett Wilson, but that's pretty fun.
80:33That's pretty cool.
80:34>> Yeah, he's a first round pick, too. It's not like this is, you know, we were talking about Jacobe Lane earlier, you
80:39know, being a third round pick. Like this dude was a first round pick.
80:42>> Exactly. Yeah. And I mean, it's reminded me a little bit of like Jeremy Bernard in Pittsburgh where he's, you know, like
80:48another guy you get the ball in his hands and but he's he can actually earn targets as well. And we're seeing that
80:54with with Cooper, 28% targets per outr run. He also has a 24% first read target rate and that doesn't include those
81:01screens. So he's been like in a number of ways he's been a pretty clear priority for the Jets. They seem pretty
81:07excited about him too. So >> yeah. Well, his one game was like I said against the you know Christian Gonzalez was gar sure. Yeah. Yeah. That that is
81:16fair. But also like he's a dude like you got to be worried about if you're uh >> you know Adam I Mitchell who I thought
81:23played well in his role early in the season though but like Omar Cooper also not only is a first round pick but like
81:28he's also a dude like when you have it like can you put it back in the bottle like >> Yeah. Yeah. And now it's also like Gino
81:35Smith like what's Gino Smith going to going to like throwing two more, you know?
81:39>> Um especially in this matchup because it's like I said, you want you can just you can just pepper like the the shallow
81:45intermediate area against these dudes.
81:47>> Yep. Yep. And that's I mean that's that's bullish for Garrett Wilson too.
81:51Um >> Oh yeah.
81:53>> So yeah, I have him as a a low end wide receiver one and Wilson like Wilson just faced Christian Gonzalez as you're
81:58mentioning held him to 1.33 yards per route run. Not a good game. He still leads the NFL in open score, Garrett
82:04Wilson. So, dude is I mean, he is what you think he is, right? He's an awesome route runner who gets open consistently
82:11in the intermediate area. Um, and that's going to that's going to keep him earning targets. Um, so yeah, strong setup for him. I did note Kenyan Sadique
82:21last week 36% round participation with Mason Taylor at 70%. uh the kind of the the breakout on Sadique was more of a
82:29flash than than a breakout.
82:31>> Hopefully hopefully we get a real breakout later, but we don't have one yet.
82:34>> Yeah. I mean, his problem is is like he just has so many limitations still as like an actual tight end and for like a
82:41a team to like actually swerve and just giving him the job, you know, Mason Taylor's going to do he's not gonna like
82:48necessarily do stuff for fantasy we care about, but he's gonna do all the things the Jets care about that that role
82:52doing.
82:54>> Yeah. Yeah. Um, right. I mean, he doesn't even do that stuff that well, which is kind of frustrating, >> but compared to Sadi is like essentially
83:04like enter the NFL as a slot receiver.
83:06Like, >> totally. Totally. And then they kind they have Omar Cooper. I think Omar Cooper being a playmaker and a more like
83:13true wide receiver is is not helpful for him because they have some of that Yak ability in another player.
83:19>> It's a fun roster though. Like, this is like a It's a pretty fun roster.
83:23>> It honestly is. Um, >> if they solve for Jones here next year maybe.
83:28>> Yeah, if they solve for for Gino and like have something like this is the defense has been a little better too
83:34than we we kind of thought they'd be like they might have something. Now Aaron Glenn is a donkey still. I was
83:39told like that will be the the ultimate thing. This is why you do fire guys after one year, right? Because >> now they're not because now you're
83:48stuck. Now if you build a a young core around a bad coach, now you're just stuck forever. Not forever.
83:55>> It won't be forever, >> but you know, you're gonna like you you get out. You know, look at the Patriots.
84:01They moved to Rabbel. It's not perfect.
84:03They should have hired Ben Johnson, but you know, better than it was.
84:06>> A lot of people feel that way.
84:08>> Yeah.
84:11There's simply no way to know if the guy has been doing incredible offense to the Lions for the last two year, three years
84:18will work out. Um anyway, Dolphins, uh as you mentioned, this is a a situation where we we could be looking at low pass
84:27volume because of their defense.
84:29Dolphins opponents have a 55% pass rate against them. And >> opponents are also playing uh the second slowest against the Dolphins and the
84:37Jets are the fourth slowest team. Yeah.
84:39>> In situation neutral pace. So, so volume is our our big concern here. not like a spot where I'd be trying to get like
84:46super deep into the Jets passing game for DFS or whatever, but it's uh >> yeah, >> it it is, you know, where I could see
84:53Wilson having a really nice game or Cooper having a really nice game kind of thing. Uh Dolphins side of this, uh I
85:01mean, they are it's it's kind of crazy, right? because you could kind, you know, you could think of the Dolphins, all right,
85:13they're they're f or their underdogs, four and a half point underdogs. Um they the Jets are actually, you know, like reasonably capable of scoring points as
85:23we discussed. They have a 22 point implied team total, so not super low.
85:27And so this is a spot where the Dolphins could get pushed to the air and we could see a little bit more pass volume.
85:33They're going to have Caleb Douglas back, it looks like. Um, and so it's like, all right, you know, maybe maybe they get pushed, except
85:42being favored being, sorry, only getting 4.5 points, that's like light. That's almost like them being favored. Like by Dolphin standards,
85:52plus 4.5 is them the as the favorite, you know, and and then you have a team that is just absolutely
86:03given up like minus 20% pass rate over expected against the Bengals in week five, minus 19% on first down.
86:12>> They are full. like the Charge, as bad as the Chargers have been, just trying to hide their passing game, the the
86:18Dolphins look worse that way, just, you know, they're not, this isn't a team like playing for real, you know, this they're trying to like make it less
86:28painful. That's all this is about. And so, you just can't really count on a team like this to get pushed. And in
86:36fact, I think they'll probably try to hide Malik Willis again and lean on their backfield, which if they had Devon Achan might mean that we would see some
86:46passing volume and just get him the ball in space, you know, with with quick hitting receptions.
86:51But with Ali Gordon, I mean, he's just a a two down hammer, kind of a boom bust runner, but, you know, a big guy, and
86:58you just feed him the ball uh by handing it to him. So, this is going to be just kind of ugly on the Dolphin side. I
87:05think maybe you get some big plays uh with Caleb Douglas back. He he has flashed a little bit, but you know,
87:11Malik Washington can kind of just rack up catches as he's done a few times, but not a lot to say here.
87:17>> Yeah, they did score 24 points last game.
87:20>> Yeah, like if we get a bunch of 20 like at least there's something. It's like they were going into that what that uh
87:28Bengals game like they were like 10 10 points 10 points 13 points 13 points.
87:34Maybe that's just the outlier but like if we could get them like just to just to be competent enough to get to like
87:39the we were like oh they can still score a couple touchdowns a game. We obviously can't lean into that but it'd be nice if
87:45they if we could because they're another team that's like hey just like let the young dudes play. They should be just
87:50swerving in like see what you got in Caleb Douglas. you got in Chris Bell, especially coming out of the buy. Uh
87:56Malik Washington has been like a cromulent player. Uh >> Willis Willis threw for 137 passing yards. Like you're that you just you
88:05just painted that as a bullc case, my friend.
88:07>> I know. I did. I did. For that for the context. Yes. Yeah. That's as good as it gets, man. He has run a little bit. He's
88:16run in a couple of the games at least recently.
88:18>> Yeah. Yeah. But I mean it's just >> I know. I know. Yeah, >> I'm just trying to give someone like,
88:24you know, someone has uh Josh on by and they're 2QB league or something and they got to play Malik Willis. I'm trying to
88:29give them something.
88:29>> What I'm hearing is he could be Tim Tibo bullish, >> you know, maybe uh just something just give us something if
88:39you're playing him.
88:41>> Oh man.
88:43>> Yeah, that's it though.
88:46>> Caleb Douglas has looked good and he looks >> They didn't put him on IR for this reason because they had the buy. They
88:51said the they didn't want to put him on hour because they were they thought coming out of the buy like he would be
88:55ready and he practiced in full all week.
88:57He still has the most their highest yardage game this year which was in week one and 2.05 yards per route run for the
89:06year. Um he has been a deep threat for them. 12.8 >> Oh yeah >> a dot.
89:12>> Um and Chris Bell has been at 16.7 AOT which which makes less sense for Bell. I was >> Yeah. Yeah, it's not good for Bell
89:19because this is a team this doesn't pass. So, like you can't deal with the target competition. But it is interesting. I'm kind of curious to see
89:26how they how they manage the the wide receiver trio now because this makes more sense. Like Douglas is kind of we
89:32talk about like compared to the Jets.
89:33Like Douglas is your AD Mitchell type.
89:36Bell would maybe be more like your Garrett Wilson kind of more intermediate target earner. Unfortunately, he's like way worse. But, you know, Malik
89:45Washington's kind of your more >> underneath guy. Although, you know, he's an 11.1 AOT. So, maybe maybe he's >> I mean, that's just playing Malik that's
89:52Malik Willis's game, bro. Like, this is what Michael does.
89:56>> He's 93 percentile in open score. He he's actually been um Malik Washington is has been >> all these guys' prospects are were
90:04interesting dudes. I don't think like any of them were smashes, but like they were at least like they were like day
90:08three like intrigue dudes. Like I didn't think like any of them were hits, but it's just like, you know, and obviously
90:14Chris Bell was a, you know, round two dude, but Chris Bell I thought had a lot of flaws, too. But the things but the
90:18things he did well, I was like, "Oh, well, this is like a cool thing." Like he at least has a spade.
90:22>> Um, >> yeah, that's that's how I felt about Chris Bell, too. I was like, >> yeah, >> it doesn't look very good, but he looks
90:29like he can do stuff that tends to work in the NFL. Um but then coming off the injury obviously Washington was a little
90:35Trey Haresy in it's like you were really old but you were super efficient that year. That's cool.
90:41>> Yeah. I mean he's he was a guy that just uh especially at Virginia Tech was like he just he got so much stuff like after
90:49the catch. He was like Maurice Jones drew on almost a sense like just he he was like a running back like played like
90:54a running back kind of at like receiver caught like a lot of shallow stuff.
90:58Caleb Douglas. The only reason I was like when they drafted him, I was like, "Oh, this dude is exactly like Malik
91:04Willis's play style type of dude." Like I was like, "Oh, this actually fit out of like if if Malik Willis was to work,
91:10it will work with Caleb Douglas because if there's one thing he could do is he could get downfield."
91:15>> Yep. Yep.
91:17>> Yeah. So, they this passing game does make more sense now. Like the pieces all fit, I think. I'm not exactly sure what
91:25Bell is yet, but he could probably he could be a couple thing. He could be kind of more of a yak shallower guy.
91:32>> Um or they could they could move Washington back toward that role.
91:35>> But is interesting that that he's been as productive like 11.1 AOT isn't that shallow. And um >> he's been completely like I said, if the
91:44definition of the word crime, like if you're getting like if like you if you're if you're looking for a top 24
91:49receiver, you aren't going to get it.
91:51But if you're like, can I get a wide receiver three in my lineup this week? I will gladly take that. That is exactly
91:55what he's doing every week.
91:57>> Yeah, it's true. Um I have a wide receiver four this week, which is maybe rude. Maybe I maybe he's more of a
92:03>> Well, it's you're always going to rank dudes that have higher upside like from a ranking perspective. Like you're always going
92:08>> That's exactly what I did >> 100%, bro. It's It's the same. It's when we get to drafts and people are like,
92:13"Well, this guy's going to beat his ADP." And I'm like, "I don't care." Or like match his ADP. Like you're like, "I
92:18don't care." Like, "I'm going to draft a real fun player that like could blow his ADP out of the water."
92:22>> Exactly. It's It's exactly what Blake Washington is.
92:25>> Yeah. Greg Doulich I'll know was back to 71%. Raw participation against the Bengals up from 50%. We we talked about
92:32that maybe just being Flores.
92:34>> The Vikings man you play the Vikings.
92:37>> Yeah.
92:38>> These Y tight ends like the flex wise like they get killed by the Vikings.
92:42>> They really do. Um >> I cannot wait for next week when we get the Vikings Lions game.
92:49>> Dude, that's going to be wild.
92:52I guess bad bad for Leaporta.
92:54>> I I just can't wait because remember they played a game last year. I guess we're a week ahead of ourselves where
92:58Dan Campbell actually came out and did a verbal apologize to Jir Gibbs.
93:04>> Don't if you remember that like >> I don't remember that >> because he blocked he Brian Flores put Jir Gibbs in jail that that the first
93:12time they played he had the most pass blocking snaps of like any running back and just got killed like they just beat
93:17the [ __ ] out of him. Dan came he came out and apologized and it was so bad the next time they played which was that
93:23Brazmer game on Christmas it was Christmas day I think that they actually just played Montgomery like the highest like one of the highest snap rates cuz
93:30like Gibbs had already taken the job but they just played Montgomery cuz they were they like what happened the first time. My hope is that like since they're
93:38not using Sionvaki anyway that they just have had him like while everyone else has been learning the game plan that week, he's just watching Vikings tape
93:47and then they just bring him in as like pass blocker. Play some place some 21, you know, and uh keep Gibbs on the field
93:57with another running back to pass block.
93:59It's interesting because if you go back to like the initial games they played Flores like a couple years ago, Gibbs killed them like in the tandem roll like
94:07so like you got to find a dude to just soak up >> all and like wear and wear all this pass
94:12blocking.
94:13>> Yeah, exactly. Um All right.
94:15>> But that was also Ben Johnson was do he was smart enough to know that, >> right?
94:22What? What did the >> What did the Bears do with their with their uh running backs in week two?
94:29>> It's weird cuz remember that game was played in like a hurricane.
94:33>> Uhhuh. Uhhuh.
94:34>> It was just a weird game.
94:34>> It's funny because Caleb Williams was like, you know, is coming off that that Panthers game and it's like a huge
94:41letdown and then he got hurt. He's the most efficient quarterback against the Vikings this year by like a lot.
94:47>> That's crazy, man. Cuz like that game was just remember the game was just gross. It was so gross. And yeah, his
94:54EPA play was like huge huge let down, you know, obviously compared to just setting the bar.
95:00>> The Bears basically just tried to run though. Like they were really run heavy.
95:04>> Yeah.
95:04>> But the weather was so bad cuz both both teams ended up being run heavy because the weather was just so bad.
95:10>> Well, yeah. And because Carson wins.
95:12>> Yeah. Carson wins.
95:14>> Uh Giants and Texans. JJ McCarthy.
95:20the the air has begun in New York. I They kind of have to do this. He looked He looked too good. Jameson Jameus
95:25Winston looked too bad. I'm still bummed about it. I am not McCarthy believer. Uh I I saw him make some cool throws last
95:32week as well. He looked pretty fun. He racked up 243 yards in like a quarter.
95:38That was cool. But I don't know. I still have a lot of concerns about what McCarthy does when you're not down
95:4634-10, which is where things stood when he entered the game last week. Um, and he's playing a Texans defense that has
95:53not been as good as we were assuming it would be, but is still pretty good. Uh, they're allowing explosive plays. Um,
96:01but they're sixth in dropback success rate. So, this is like a the type of defense that, you know, if you think
96:07about JJ McCarthy being really inconsistent and kind of frustrating.
96:12This is not a matchup where I would expect that to change. You know, you might get some some big plays out of
96:17him, but um I am generally pessimistic on on how McCarthy looks in his first full game, but where are you at?
96:25>> Yeah. And and it's maybe I'm just still on a false lead with the Texans, but like I look at the Texans and I expect
96:31them to be better than they've been, but then like dude, they faced Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Dak Prescott, Trevor Lawrence in four of their games. Like,
96:39>> yeah, >> you know, obviously Daniel Jones and Cam Ward, but they nuked they nuked Cam Ward. Uh Daniel Jones was okay in that
96:46game.
96:47>> They almost nuked Burrow.
96:48>> They did to be fair. Yeah, they almost did. Burrow had that was that Jamar Chase made that ridiculous touch. Yeah,
96:55that was pretty pretty.
96:56>> You have a third percentile success rate. He has the lowest success rate, bro, against against Texans of any one they faced. Lower than Ward who was
97:0315th.
97:04>> But I still believe they're good enough to where like JJ McCarthy is not going to do like in his first start with a new
97:11team like is gonna like I I'd be I am also very pessimistic. Also like when you look at the JJ McCarthy's fourth
97:17quarter last week, it is insane, dude.
97:20Did you see that pass he completed to Charlie Jones?
97:22>> Yeah.
97:23>> Like like what the hell was that? He threw an interception to another dude that the dude just bricked it like like
97:28it was the easiest interception that the guy would have had maybe in his career and like he still probably thinks about
97:33it. Uh like that hasn't even been a full week.
97:39>> So like nothing like if you watch it was like literally just hair on fire like craziness. I And again maybe that's just
97:46Jameus Winston. Maybe we just replace Jameus Winston with Jameus Winston. Um >> yeah, I don't think so. I I think I wish
97:52that was true. I I think the the problem is that I'm not sure the Giants are going to be on board with that.
98:00>> No, they aren't. They're definitely not.
98:02>> So, I mean, they they're also trying to to hide their their passing game. They have a minus 4% pass expected. Last
98:09week, they had a 72% expected pass rate.
98:13They're they're losing badly. They bring in McCarthy and they let him chuck it.
98:17So, they end up with a 75% pass rate, but they're getting a look at a new quarterback in the fourth quarter,
98:23right? That's like a They were doing a thing.
98:25>> I I don't think that that means they're going to come out this week and be like, "All right, we're just gonna we're just
98:30gonna have JJ just chuck it for four quarters.
98:35They're 3-2 and one. They're talking about how they want to add a running back. You know who adds a running back?
98:42A team who's taking itself seriously."
98:44Now, should the Giants be taking themselves seriously? No.
98:48They're toast. They lost Jackson Dart.
98:51They're done. But they don't think they're done.
98:53>> They don't. They're first in the division.
98:55>> They shouldn't think they're done if because if if the team is done, John Harbaugh's done. Matt Naggie's done.
99:01Like they they have one way to coach this team next year and it's and it's to be competitive. So I do get it. You
99:08know, they're they're incentivized to to not think the way I'm thinking. But I mean, it's just not this is not they're
99:14not going to be fun. They're they're trying. How are you going to win? How are you actually going to win games with
99:20the Giants? Like if we were in charge of winning games with the Giants, we wouldn't be like, "All right, hair on
99:24fire. Just let it rip, JJ." You know?
99:28We'd be like, >> "All right, Cam, can you get your [ __ ] together a little?" Cuz I think I think
99:34we're going to need you to touch the ball a good amount.
99:37>> Well, they continue to not even know what the player Cam Scatteroo is. I >> No, we we we that's the thing we would
99:43fix the most is we would understand that we would we would like throw some screens to Cam Scaboo and let him let
99:49him slam. He's gonna slam into the nearest defender. Make it a cornerback.
99:52Make it a DB. Make it a safety, dude.
99:55Don't don't make it a D tackle.
100:00It's >> hilar. I mean, any quote that I've heard about them this like even talk to it's like they just it's like they you don't
100:07even understand what's going on here.
100:08Like they just talk about him using a bulldozer. It's like this dude's a bulldozer.
100:13It's it's he is a bulldozer, but like he can do other things, too. You know, he's a he's a transformer. He's a bulldozer.
100:22>> Either way, the the problem with this is though is like I actually do I agree with you wholehe hearty like they want
100:26to do like ball control say, but like you can't run on the Texans, >> right?
100:32>> You can't run on them.
100:34>> Right. Right. But that doesn't mean they won't try.
100:37>> Oh, no. They're going to try. They're going to try.
100:40>> Yeah. The the other thing with the Texans, so the Texans, they rank dead last in explosive plays allowed, uh, explosive play rate, I should say. Um,
100:49and you know, despite ranking sixth in dropback success rate, they're 21st in EPA. So, they're giving up big plays.
100:56Um, they they don't blitz and they kind of have like the general formula that that we thought they would, but they are
101:04uh, you know, giving up these explosive plays and so that's kind of interesting for neighbors. However, uh if you look at who they've played and the double
101:14coverage rates, it's it's pretty wild.
101:17Like >> there's been some ones who are like, "Okay, you know, this team's double covered some or they weren't double covering at all. We'll get to the Lions.
101:23They weren't double covering at all and then they went real hard with double coverage against >> the the Cardinals, which was pretty
101:29interesting and and fairly effective.
101:31Will they stick with that?" You know, we'll talk about that later on. But the Texans, there's not really much ambiguity here. DJ Moore 35% double
101:39coverage rate. Jamar Chase 34. T.
101:41Higgins 38. Josh DS 55. Tyler Warren was was only 26, but that's still above average. CD Lamb 40. George Pickkins 30.
101:51Carnell Tate 30. Parker Washington 35.
101:54Like the the guys, not like, oh, this is the deep threat. We got to, you know, shade a safety over. No, they're like,
102:01who's your best player? You're not going to beat us with him. That seems to be pretty clearly the way they're playing.
102:07They have the highest double team rate in the NFL and it's on the top players on the opposing offenses. This is not a
102:14particularly difficult one for them to figure out. Malik Neighbors is who you take away and and Isaiah Likely to a degree, but
102:21>> yeah.
102:21>> Um >> I don't think you need to be as worried about Likely. Likely is more of a fantasy guy where it's like, oh my god,
102:28a tight end with >> high-end route participation, 29% target share, and solid efficiency. That's amazing. But Neighbors is very clearly the the top true playmaker in the
102:38offense.
102:39>> Yeah. And you look at the guys that from because we know the Texans have given up big plays, but you look at like the guys
102:44that got the spike weeks from a fantasy stance on them. You know, Lamb was the one that like just kept like killing
102:49them. Uh 21 targets and and kept just roasting them. But you obviously still have to count for pickins. Uh Chase got
102:56had the awesome touchdown catch. And then like DJ Moore's actual touchdown too was kind of a it was almost an interception, you know, and then but
103:05then the other guys like have done they're not even giving up like top 20 weeks to anyone else.
103:09>> Um, you know, Higgins got to tight or wide receiver 19. Uh, but it's like so yeah, I came away one factoring in the
103:18McCarthy volatility of just like there could be a low floor here anyways. And the other thing too is we were coming
103:24off of a run with the Giants where I don't want to act like we got a little spoiled. So I don't want to act like
103:30it's we throw out the uh beginning of the season with these guys either because we were on the spots for these
103:36guys. Like they just faced the Cardinals, the Commanders, and the Saints. like we were actually in. We were like these are defenses like like
103:42they could punch up against >> and like but then it's just like oh >> they kind of didn't by the way right
103:49punch up >> but the guys for fantasy like did >> no but I mean like McCarthy McCarthy saved us.
103:57>> They did McCarthy did save us for fantasy >> and then Millie guy won a million dollars. Did you see it?
104:02>> No.
104:03>> So the Millie the Millie winner last week played Neighbors and Likely but not Jamus. Oh my god. Oh my god.
104:13>> You start spending the money as soon as he got benched.
104:16>> I'm gonna win, >> brother. Brother, it was it was an incredible lineup. Uh uh yeah, I played >> Who was that quarterback? Who do you
104:22have a quarterback?
104:23>> Penn without London.
104:29>> Wow.
104:30>> [ __ ] dude. It was it it was crazy because it was like all dudes that were >> Do you have pits?
104:34>> No, it was it was naked London or Naked Penn. a naked naked >> naked penis. It was uncovered. It was
104:39uncondthead >> like a like an absolutely raw PennX was like just out there. Uh and he won a
104:49million dollars. Not STDs. He got all the all the money like it's incredible.
104:55>> Oh my god.
104:55>> But it was it was it it was one of these things like I don't know the truth. We we'd have to talk to this human being.
105:00But it looked like it was like they ran just the optimizer and it was an optimizer with no rules because they
105:05played all the guys like that was everyone like popular popular but they played in like a jumbled order where like if you put like rules into like
105:11match like do stacks or anything like you would you wouldn't have done it >> but it was all guys that everyone was
105:16on. It was just like but it it was great man. It's hey that's how you win one of those tournament.
105:21>> Optimizer no rules does seem like a pretty fun way to just fire in a DK. It was cuz I forget who else I'd have to
105:27remember who else he had. It was crazy though. But it was it was both he had both the Giants but no Winston and then
105:33just Penn cuz a lot of people played Bjun and London too >> last week and they they bricked but Penn got the garbage Penn got there in
105:41garbage time without those.
105:43>> Yeah, I had some I had some Jamus double stacks. I had a Shuck stack with likely and uh and neighbors on it. So that that
105:51was my version. But yeah, it didn't do that much. But uh >> it was incredible. Incredible.
105:57>> Should have played some uh unchath penics.
105:59>> You should have played some unchath penics, man. Like uh we we're just we're just not good enough.
106:05>> Good enough at this game.
106:06>> Right. We're working on it. We're getting better.
106:13But I also don't want to overindex like they said those guys getting there in the fourth quarter and then having like
106:17couple matchups. We were like, dude, like we cuz we if you go back to listen to our show, like we were on like
106:23Neighbors against the Cardinals and like we've been talking about Likely's usage the entire year.
106:27>> Neighbors was the the cover boy of the walkthrough last week.
106:29>> Yeah. So, it's like we were we were there >> but I it's like maybe again like I said, I'm just overvaluing that saying like
106:37maybe I'm just latching on to what I think the Houston Texans defense could still be. I just feel like I would be
106:42really shocked if the if the Giants light it up against these guys.
106:46>> Yeah. I also think that like I mean in some ways it plays to McCarthy where you're like hey he's not consistent but
106:53he is looking for big plays and then you have a defense that does allow big plays and I think that >> that could then create some fun moments
107:03but the problem with McCarthy has been he's like so inconsistent that it's like you can't sustain anything you know like you do have to get a first down you know
107:12like that's there's like a a level of consistency that we need to get to before we can start having fun with big
107:19plays. And I'm worried about him not being able to get there here with the Texans. You know, they've been struggling more on defense than we
107:26expected, but they they do have a really good success rate. And that that's where that could end up kind of just
107:30destroying that formula, that big play formula.
107:33>> They're hoping with with McCarthy. On the other hand, I mean, I do I think it provides some optimism for for likely,
107:40you know, who should see less double coverage than than Neighbors >> and is still going to get um you know, plenty of targets. And then Neighbors,
107:49like you did mention the CD Lamb uh like CD Lamb had, as I mentioned, 40% double coverage rate. That's the second highest
107:57among all those guys I I talked about.
108:00He had 4.02 yards per outr run and 41.3 PPR points. So, you know, if the Giants are committed enough and and Neighbors
108:08is playing like he's Neighbors and and he has like over the last three weeks 3.73 yards per out run, 2.09, 3.37. He's
108:16been 91% or higher in route participation in all three games, drawing targets at an elite rate, 23 or higher PPR points in every game. So, uh
108:27you know, you if you're like, "Hey, I'm betting on a superstar receiver to keep it rolling." I I do very much get that.
108:34It's just it's a low floor setup for the entire offense and >> could be a spot where like Neighbors has a nice game and likely scores three
108:41points or vice versa kind of thing, >> right?
108:44>> Maybe not three for Neighbors, but you you get my point. Um any anything on the back field where they like I thought
108:50maybe it was a message sending thing to Scataboo and it probably is, but the message seems to be >> a little harsher than I thought it might
108:58be. The message is we're done, buddy.
109:01>> Yeah. I mean, they said they said he got first reps in practice. I think it was one of those like it felt like a very
109:06much like a scolding uh type deal, but the problem was it if they're going to use Scataboo and just go back to using
109:13him the way that they did, it's a terrible spot for like one, he wasn't even good in that spot in doing that.
109:19And you're going to ask them to do that against the Houston Texans?
109:24>> Yeah. And also like they the the reports about them wanting a new running back seem like pretty bearish, you know, like
109:31>> absolutely.
109:32>> And I mean when they cut Naji at first I was like, "Okay, I read this exactly right that they were basically like
109:38you're getting benched for the fumble.
109:40We're starting Naji, but not really cuz he's Naji." And then Naji was like, "Hey, this sucks." And they're like, "Goodbye."
109:48>> Yeah.
109:49>> Like you're we're literally using you to send a message to someone else. uh pipe down and find another job. So there that
109:57seemed it seemed Yeah, it was pretty pretty rude. Um and so now you know you're like, "Okay, Tracy will be back
110:06probably to the normal role." Except Tyrone Trace or Tracy Scatter will be back to the normal role. But Tracy stepped up in the interim uh was was
110:13actually pretty good. Um you know, scored 18.5 PPR points last week. Looked pretty good doing it. Um, and so I don't
110:23know. I mean, it seems like now my my read on this is now it's probably going to be kind of a gross committee.
110:28>> Uh, and they're just gonna muddle along until they >> That's how I think >> trade for Jonathan Taylor or some some
110:34ridiculous thing they have no business doing.
110:36>> Yeah. I'm not on any any of these guys though for fantasy football.
110:41>> Honestly, you could just you should just be betting unders on all these guys. I don't know what they're they're probably
110:46ter not even worth bet lining to bet the under. I don't know what they I haven't looked. I haven't looked.
110:53>> Yeah, you might have trouble finding good good unders.
110:55>> It's probably like I assume like Tracy's yards are probably like in the 20s, so like what do you So like it's probably not worth it.
111:03>> Yeah. Um All right. Texans. CJ Strad has had his three best games of the year over the last three weeks against the
111:12Cowboys Titans, but then the Jaguars who have a solid defense. Uh Marvin Harrison only had 25% route participation last week, but 44% targets per out run, 3.78
111:22yards per out run. We're looking to get him involved on that limited snaps, which is basically, you know, exactly what you would expect to happen for a
111:28guy joining the team, but still still nice to see. Jaylen Null had a really nice game, his best game of the year
111:34against the Jaguars. Nico Collins been quiet over the last two weeks, but still, you know, deep threat, providing real value to the offense. And this is a
111:42team now that looks to be in really good shape at receiver. Not just because of Harrison, but Tank Dell is going to play
111:49as well. So, you know, they're like between Harrison, Dell, and Null, they've got some interesting guys past Nico Collins. And then Collins, even
111:58after being a little bit quiet for the last few weeks, is is still having a really strong season. And so, this
112:04passing game is really starting to shape up even as, you know, they don't have David Montgomery and and are having to
112:09lean on Woody Marks in the in the run game. So, what what are your thoughts on the the Texans here against the Giants
112:15past defense that is really struggling to get pressure despite blitzing? I mean, this is the the other angry blitz.
112:20>> Yeah, we're not getting pressure. What do we do? Oh, I guess we should blitz.
112:25>> Yeah, that could that and that won't lead to anything bad.
112:28>> Yeah. Yeah. Especially against like good wide receivers, you know, especially they blitzed 58% of the time the last two weeks. That's second in the league.
112:37Um and Straoud's been really good against the Blitz this year. He's he's coming off of three games in a row of 20
112:43plus fantasy points. The last time he did that was games two, three, and four of his career. Um, so >> yeah, it's it's starting to feel a
112:50little bit like his rookie season. The other thing is you mentioned him against the Blitz there. He's been awesome against the Blitz. They're the third
112:55best passing offense against the Blitz this year, and the Texans are seeing the lowest blitz rate against them. So, this is another thing we talk about like what
113:05it's not just the numbers, but like what the the actions of the teams like what are teams doing? How do you play the
113:10Texans? They're not blitzing the Texans.
113:12So, if the Giants the Giants are in a bind here, they can either do their angry blitzing and probably create some
113:19big plays for the Texans offense or they can not blitz and not get pressure. They again they have the lowest pressure rate
113:26in the NFL even as they have the sixth highest blitz rate. So, this is a they don't have Brian Burns. You know, he he
113:32got hurt weeks ago. Um Abdul Carter has played well, but that's not enough. And they're just not they're not they're not
113:40getting pressure. So, this is a a pretty nice setup like kind of one way or another. As long as the Texans, you
113:46know, pass at a reasonable rate, which I would expect them to, this sets up pretty nice for their passing game.
113:53>> Yeah, it's it's interesting. you go back to Strad too, his rookie year when he when he was, you know, at his best for
113:58fantasy and like in efficiency metrics, he wasn't just having to throw to one guy like he has basically been the last
114:04two years and and Nico Collins's miss time. Uh he's he's always been because remember that was like tank when Tank Dell was popping too. Um they had other
114:12guys that were contributing and I just think he's that kind of quarterback. Um, he can still like, you know, give a guy
114:20like Nico Collins and make him a wide receiver one, but I think inherently CJ Strad wants to play the game of football
114:26like throwing the ball around to like open dudes.
114:29>> Um, and that's what we kind of saw a little bit last week. Everyone was really involved. Uh, it doesn't I don't
114:35think this kills it doesn't kill Nico Collins, but I think we probably look at Nico Collins going from like a 30%
114:41target share guy to like probably like the 24 to 26% range.
114:45>> Like shedding a little bit. you know, I agree. Um, and he makes everyone better, too, because he's an not he's not a
114:52sacrificial X, he's like a legit awesome X, >> right?
114:55>> So, like you have like you you can't like where you're running as a guy like downfield. He No, he you have to put
115:02attention on Nico Collins because he will wreck you if you don't. Um, and then you know, you've got these guys that actually fit the roles. Now, we saw
115:10it was a very small sample. He ran nine routes, but if you watched my Harrison, he was running all routes. We've been
115:15begging for him to the Cardinals not to run. It was all inbreing stuff, slants, ins, digs, like that's the stuff he's
115:21supposed to do. He's not big. He's not fast. He's not going to create separation on post corners and ver nine routes. Like, but you know what he he
115:29is? He's a big ass body and if he's going to he's going to run those ins and slants and catch and make those tough
115:34catches. Um, and then you've got null who's like an explosive vertical slot >> like this all kind of mar it's the
115:42marriage here is really nice if this is how they choose to move for moving forward. I don't know where like Tank
115:47Dell fits into that or Hutchinson and Booty, but like those three mesh really well together.
115:53>> I think Dell fits in he's played primarily outside despite being >> people think he's a slot guy.
115:59>> They do. And I think I thought he was a slot guy two for like because he one he missed an entire year so you forget.
116:06>> And then Straoud after his rookie year is putting together like his perfect wide receiver room and had Dell as his
116:12slot.
116:12>> You remember that?
116:13>> Yeah. And so, but that screwed us all up because then we're like, "Oh, Dell, yeah, he's a he's right. He's he's
116:18small. He plays in the slot, but he doesn't actually play in the slot. He's like 75% of his his snaps have been out
116:24wide or something like that." So, you know, he can play in the slot, but that's not where he lives. And so, I
116:30think you're going to have some null in the slot. Like, he'll he'll spend most of his time in the slot, but he's not
116:35truly a full-time guy even last week.
116:38And then Harrison was at 30% of of his snaps in the slot last week. Uh, and then Dell will play some of his his
116:47snaps in the slot. And then Harrison's not going to play a full-time role this this week. I would and and neither will
116:51Dell. So So for now, I think for like this week, there's plenty of routes to go around because Harrison and N aren't
116:59going to be in full-time roles and Dell can play insider route like as can Harrison um to a degree as well. No is
117:07probably just going to be straight slot, but >> yeah. Yeah.
117:10>> Um so yeah, so I think you know we'll we'll see a little D. It's probably have a huge impact for now because you would
117:18you would expect Harrison to still be ramping up regardless. Um but yeah, I mean Nico Collins has been massive. Like the splits without uh Nico on the field
117:27have been huge. And I think like I was trying to think through as I was writing it up, you know, how to how to talk
117:35about CJ Strad. And I didn't quite ever think of like exactly what I was trying to get to, but I basically like I I
117:43think Straoud um is kind of thought of as more of like like a point guard in the Gino Smith mold or something like
117:50that, but he's not. He's a pure pocket passer, but it's almost more like like a Jordan Love or something like that,
117:57which is >> what I thought of just now and and curious on your thoughts of that. Like it is like you kind of unlock Straoud by
118:04giving him downfield weapons. And >> if you have one, if you don't have any, it gets ugly. If you have one, you know,
118:14he's going to feed that guy. If you have a plethora of options, yeah, I think things can get like really exciting with
118:21Straoud. And the other thing with Stout is you have to protect him to an adequate degree like any pocket passer.
118:28>> And quietly, they have done that.
118:30They're they're this year they're 18th in pass block win rate. They're 20th in pass block grade. They're 18th best in preventing quick pressure, 11th best in
118:38preventing pressure. Um, and in part that's because teams are not having success blitzing them, so they're not doing that. Uh, so you know, it's been
118:49years, it's literally been years since Stout has had like an like not great but not terrible offensive line just to get
118:56to that level. It's been so bad over the last couple years. Uh, I think we're back there. I think we we we have
119:03>> And you know what? We're definitely back there this week because the Giants don't have a pass rush.
119:08>> 100%.
119:11Uh anything on the tight end because we do have Daltton Schultz is dealing with an injury. Foster Maro scored twice last
119:17week. Uh Schultz's route participation dropped. He's been >> somewhat limited in practice. Any any thoughts on him?
119:24>> No, not really. I mean, he has one top 20 scoring week and it was the week everyone was out and he had that huge
119:28fourth quarter against the Bengals. Um he just feels like the odd man out.
119:33>> Yeah, he he feels like that archetype, right? Like he's not a bad player by any means. I think he's again like perfectly
119:39fine, but like he needs like that he needs the targets to be created for him because he's not going to earn them
119:43really on his own like when with other with other competition. And that's been the story of his career, right? Like that was the story when Dell and Collins
119:51came on and then like those guys kept when they kept getting you banged up in and out of the lineup, you were like,
119:56"All right, like Daltton Schultz is okay now." Like, but he's he was never a guy that was like earning like a a [ __ ]
120:02truckload of targets on his own.
120:04>> Yeah. What about the backfield? I mean, it's all Woody Marks this week. They don't have other guys. They're out of
120:10guys. So, they're on buy next week. So, I don't think we'll see David Montgomery. Uh they'll nurse him up. Uh >> ruled out.
120:17>> Yeah. Oh. Oh, yeah. I assumed he would be. It was a bummer cuz our dude uh Jawar uh looked good again in a small
120:24sample.
120:26>> We talked about this last year. Like looked good. Looked explosive again, man. And it's a like I was like a like
120:33>> what was his injury? He they didn't say >> I forget what it was.
120:37>> He went on IR with like no injury designation.
120:40>> Yeah, it's a bummer. So, it's just Woody Marks. Like he's going to I imagine he's going to get he could maybe get like
120:46upwards of like 25 touches in this game.
120:49They're 10point home favorites.
120:51>> You're in by like you can just you can load this dude up with a bunch of work against the Giants team that is just a
120:56civ uh in the run game. Um I mean they're 29th in yard. They just gave up 180 yards to the New Orleans Saints
121:02backfield. Like >> this is the type of play that I've tried to get like one of the ways I've tried to get better at at DFS is actually to
121:11just like like respect this kind of play. Like this like like you're like I know that Woody Marks is not very good.
121:19I look at all the numbers. He's not like he's not even good as a receiver. He has 0.72 yards per out run.
121:24>> It's like come on. Seriously. like Woody Marks.
121:28We're gonna we're going to treat him like he's he's good all of a sudden. I'm going to have him as like a like my
121:32running back 14 or whatever.
121:34>> Well, this week this week >> Yeah. And in particularly this week because there is like no there is no running back value out there anyway. So
121:43like you're like glad you're like glad to do it. But the past two weeks I mean he's gone he's he's at 85 and 81 total
121:49yards against really better defenses than this >> against running backs, you know, especially the Jaguars last week. Um, and like I said, like they just the just
122:00Giants team has given up so much production to running backs and it's like all committee backfields and now we're getting a guy finally that is
122:08going to just basically because there's no other guys to like steal touches from him here. Like we're just out of dudes.
122:14Uh like when you look at all these running backs that are getting there against the Giants like last week they have 180 total yards. It's like a
122:21committee of like Kendra Miller, CJ Donaldson, Alvin Chimera. The week before that against the Commanders, you know, they get over they 100 to those
122:29guys. It's JCM, Rashad White. Eckler gets in a little bit. The week before that, they give up uh 110 yards to the
122:36Cardinals guys. That's Jeremiah Love and Alier splitting work. Uh so it's like you we have one guy getting all the touches. It's probably going to work as
122:44a 10-point home favorite. It's probably going to work out pretty good.
122:47>> Yeah. And the the Texans have been pretty balanced this year. 1% pass rate expected. Um, as I mentioned, you know,
122:54I think they'll be pretty good through through the air, but the Giants are not very good against the run. Um, and yeah,
123:01home favorites.
123:04>> I I don't >> I don't have any push back. Noting that Markx has been bad is more for me saying
123:09like, >> yeah, >> in my heart I want to treat him like I did Kyle Manungai last year when then he
123:15went on to go nuts. you know, the the >> in almost a similar spot because it was against the because it was against the
123:22bad defense, too. And that's what we have here. It's a bad defense.
123:26>> Bad defense. Yeah. I think uh I think Markx is a pretty good play.
123:30>> Yeah.
123:31>> All right. Buck.
123:32>> I like ranking ranking dudes like once you got to like RB12 this week was a disaster. Anyways, I was like, "Oh."
123:38Like I so badly I'm like, "Oh, I'm gonna move Genty down." I'm like, "I don't like what am I supposed to do?"
123:44I'm I'm still We'll talk about that, but I'm still fairly bullish on Jess, especially Mike Washington's hurt.
123:49>> Um, >> so we'll see.
123:52>> Yeah, it's rough though. And well, we have these buys and stuff, too. Like they're like it's rough there, man. It's
123:58wide open.
124:00>> All right, Buccaneers at Panthers. Um, Baker Mayfield is returning to this game. He has been though the least efficient quarterback in football.
124:10Quarterback 40. um of every quarterback with 50 plus plays this year with minus 10.2 EPA per game. He's also quarterback 39
124:21better than only Kyler Murray with a 38% success rate. So he's been real real brutal. If you look at what Baker
124:29Mayfield's been doing, he has a 33% pressure to sack rate, which is horrendous. So that you get pressure on Baker Mayfield, it turns into a sack.
124:39He's also got a 3.13 second time to throw, which is pretty long. And he's attacking downfield, 9.3 ADOT, 13% deep
124:48pass rate. Um, he's scrambling some, but like overall this is like kind of a Malik Willis sort of profile, right?
124:57You're you're holding the ball, you're trying to throw deep, and you're taking sex. Uh, he he's this is not effective, you know? This is not a profile that's
125:06going to work for Baker Mayfield. So, he's got to get that sorted out.
125:10Unfortunately, he's playing a Panthers defense that is blitzing at the fourth highest rate per drop back, third best quick pressure rate, eighth best
125:17pressure rate. Um, this is this is not really a get right spot, especially because Mabuka had uh concussion-l like symptoms and is now going to miss this
125:27game. Yeah.
125:29>> So, you don't have him. Chris Godwin has been really inefficient this year, running all the routes, but 1.02 yards per route run. Uh, so the top three
125:38receivers will probably be Godwin, Ted Hurst, and Tez Johnson.
125:43>> And then Kottton, you know, maybe he does the Kottton stuff that he has in the past. But >> it's still not great for Mayfield. I
125:50mean, >> the the Panthers offense has gotten a lot of the attention, deservedly so, for just being more a lot more fun, you
125:59know, than we were thinking they would be. But the defense has been really good, too. And you know, it's crazy, but
126:05like Mayfield might be a downgrade from from Jaylen Daniels, at least in terms of the not like overall, but like purely
126:13from this week, like what the efficiency we get this week versus what Jaylen Daniels provided.
126:19It It might be worse.
126:21>> And Luke got out too. Uh I should mention that he's out too. So >> Jaylen Phillips is out for the Panthers.
126:28So maybe that is nice. That is nice.
126:30>> You one for one. you one for one our tackles out or your best passers out like all right cool like
126:37>> it was like swap swap pieces on the chess board like all right >> I think actually that might be a good
126:44trade for the Bucks >> it might yeah it might be um but you're not like bullish on any of these receivers either like elevating you know
126:51Chris Godwin looks pretty dusty at this point >> like maybe you get the the Keenan Allen run out of last week right like where
126:58Keenan Allen is thrust into this role and you get like the eight for 80. Like I think that's what you're looking at.
127:03>> Um >> I think TZ Johnson's just as good of a bet for that. Like if you're telling me you get the the playing time, like I
127:09hold the playing time steady.
127:11>> I like Ted Hurst, too. It's just really hard to see him in this spot like dominating.
127:16>> I like Hurst. Like I drafted a lot of Hurst in baseball. I'm >> But I don't know that I am all that
127:24optimistic about Hurst in this game, right? Like I think uh I I guess Baker is like capable of just like holding it and chucking it
127:35when he shouldn't. That's kind of been as I mentioned the whole >> he would be the dude to make a play at
127:38least out of the three.
127:39>> He would be the guy to make a play.
127:40>> And you do have the corner. You still have JC Horn and Mike Jackson out. Um it was not efficient but Eagles receivers
127:47did catch 14 passes last week. You know uh got the touchdown. You know it was a lot of Tanner McKe drop backs
127:53>> but yeah you're that's what you're doing though. You're if you're playing Ted Hurst, you're hoping you get a big play,
127:58right? Like you're hoping he he has to play enough snaps to where you cash in a big play. And if you're playing either
128:03of the other guys, you're just hoping like volume finds them.
128:07>> Yeah. But even with Hurst, it's like it's one of those games where it's like, hey, he has a 40 yard reception in this
128:11game for 53 total yards.
128:14>> Yes. Yeah. You know, >> exactly. You just hope it's a You hope it's a touchdown.
128:17>> You Yeah, I really hope it's a touchdown. He scored a touchdown and got to 8.5 points.
128:24>> Didn't that happen? in week two or whatever.
128:27>> Uh I have it here.
128:28>> It was the Vikings game. He had a 40-yard touchdown.
128:31>> The Vikings game. He had 11 points.
128:33>> Oh, see 11. Jeez.
128:34>> Yeah.
128:35>> Take those, baby. Take those to the bank.
128:37>> Definitely take those.
128:38>> Tez Johnson um I I think is like probably a better fit for what I Buoua opened up as you know far as like
128:45intermediate routes. But >> Ted could do that as well.
128:50>> But also Bua was bad. And also Ibuka was back like >> Ibuka was getting targeted a lot. He had a 27% target share uh 23% targets per
129:01out run 1.11 yards per hour run. So I was this massive and will be when he returns this this massive positive
129:07aggression candidate. Um minus 3.1 uh fantasy points over expected per game.
129:15Uh yards per target of 4.9 despite a 10.3 AOT. So Ibuka like someone's getting a lot of targets. Uh maybe not a
129:25lot cuz I mean some of those targets could be throwaways and sacks, right?
129:29You know, so it's not it's not like it's as clean as where did these >> target he had 16 targets last week and
129:3648 yards or something.
129:37>> Yeah. But I mean Yeah. Think about that.
129:41Could 16 targets and 48 yards would work for Ted Hurst for Ted Hurst.
129:50I guess you're hoping that just you're just hoping Baker is like a a better passer than we saw the first three
129:55weeks.
129:56>> Yeah, which is going to be tough in this matchup. Um >> Kate Uton is is maybe a little interesting here, but he's been awful
130:03this year. The thing with Otton is he's always awful and then he pops up out of nowhere.
130:07>> He does.
130:07>> And it's like how many years will that actually work?
130:11>> Keeps getting away with it.
130:12>> He keeps getting away with it.
130:13>> He had an awesome game against the Panthers last time they played. Um but also had another game versus the Panthers where he did nothing. It's just
130:19that he's just that kind of dude like you said. It's just a random popup. He has a he had that one.
130:24>> It's not that random though. It's always when everyone's hurt.
130:26>> Well, it's when everyone's hurt. So like you have one guy hurt though. Not everyone. It's one guy hurt.
130:31>> But also the other guys with the line always is a little variable because you kind of you want two guys out. If two
130:37guys are out, is a good a good play. But like the thing the other thing with too is that >> Autton's going to project for like 15
130:46points if there's some more injuries and then and then at that point he's going to score like seven. So you know there's
130:53kind of the once he gets once we get too comfortable within it goes the other way.
130:58>> Yeah. Here's what I'll say. If anyone wants to play okay >> it could work out. I we have to actually
131:08like, you know, have the courage to say whether or not he's a good play here because we can't just call him a late SW
131:14swap option. He is in the early I was hoping >> to be able to call him a late swap option.
131:21>> He's an early swap option.
131:22>> He's early swap. He's what you do. you you use your he's a lowowned leverage early window play and then you see you
131:28see if you have to swap and you're going to >> uh Panther side of this Jaylen Coker and Tedaro McMillan are both looking
131:40awesome.
131:41>> Uh Coker's profile is is in some ways a little stronger. I mean more efficient yards per out run slightly 2.53 to 2.36.
131:49Uh targets per out run a little stronger 26% to 23%. he runs fewer routes over the course of the season. Um dealing
131:56with some injuries I believe factored in there. But uh yeah, the the 33% route participation in week three is is really
132:02the reason for that. But in the typical game, McMillan runs a few more routes.
132:06>> But you know, kind of like rather than deciding between these guys, it's more like both these guys look like really
132:12strong plays.
132:13>> Yeah.
132:13>> In this setup, as you mentioned, the Bucks are blitzing, but the Bucks are also predictable in that way. uh thoughts on this passing game?
132:21>> Yeah, I think this is another good spot for this passing game. Obviously, we've seen the Panthers just really lean into
132:26the pass this year. Uh they're still throwing at what the second highest rate over pass rate expectations. We've got Bryce Young now has four top 10 scoring
132:35games uh uh you know, over his past five games. He's leads the NFL in passing yards per game. Bryce freaking young
132:42like 281 yards last week. He's had 281 at least in every game now in four of the four games or he had four games uh
132:50throwing for as many yards uh that coming into this year and he's thrown that for every game this season. It's this floor so far this year.
132:58>> Wow.
132:58>> Um they're they're aggressive. They're going to be aggressive here because the Bucks are pass funnel >> you know.
133:03>> Great run defense. Everyone throws >> great run defense. They're doing a bunch of all the stuff. They've also started to do they were already doing a lot of
133:10easy button stuff like motion play action rate and now they're just doing like now they've added the last two games they're just like running RPOS's
133:16now too like what if we just like start running some RPOS's.
133:19>> Uh he's now met him and Patrick Mahomes lead the NFL in uh plays RPO now too. So just another wrinkle to add. They also
133:26got last week out of the buy two offensive linemen back. Taylor Mottown came back and Damen Lewis came back. Uh he had a season low pressure rate you
133:33know because of that. I don't know because of that or just the Eagles cannot rush the passer. Maybe we'll calm down.
133:38>> Neither can the Bucks despite blitzing.
133:40>> Well, the Bucks are like unique because we talked about it last week, dude.
133:44Like, so everyone knows what they're going to do. So, they game plan for it.
133:49They the Bucks face the fastest time to throw in the NFL.
133:52>> They don't get pressure because we know what you're blitzing. Like, we know you're blitzing. They don't change. Um they they just stay in cover three the
133:59entire time because uh the test was last week. So, every team that had played the Pittsburgh Steelers had altered their approach against the Pittsburgh Steelers
134:07and played more man coverage against them. The Bucks just were like, "This is our defense. This is what we do." And
134:11they played that same defense. Uh that's going to just be completely play in the hands of like a guy like like Coker has
134:18like three or four different pulling metrics where it's like, "Oh my god, like uh they play cover three at the second highest straight league and
134:25remember it's static. It just doesn't move." Um, and against, you know, cover three, he's targeting 33% of the routes, 4.3 yards per out, Ron. And it's like,
134:33all right, well, in the slot, he plays double slot rates than Tedaro McMillan does. Um, that gives him like the hot
134:40read against all these blitzes, right?
134:41And and against the blitz, he's got 29% target share, 3.7 yards out run. Also, the Bucks, because the style of defense
134:48they play, 41% of their receptions, they allow wide receivers go to the slot, which is the seventh highest rate in the
134:54league. So, it's just like, oh my gosh, he's just like banging check mark, check mark, check mark. And that's not a to
134:59say like Tet doesn't have a good spot either. It's just like Coker has like all these just different things that line up for him here. Um, it kind of
135:06reminds me of the the Packer situation a little bit where like >> Coker's kind of turned into the Golden where like you do like you you like T
135:13more as like the as a profile, >> but you're like, "Oh man, this other dude's kind of working out a little bit
135:18better. Just a little bit better than the other guy, but it they're both viable."
135:23Yeah, the the Golden Comp is interesting because Golden's profile at this point is like quite a bit stronger than Watson's and the underlying stuff.
135:33McMillan still has a lead in >> some of the metrics. Um like he has 17.8 expected points per game to Coker at 15
135:40points.
135:41>> He has one massive non >> but he has the massive non-Ker game.
135:44Yeah. And so in games together, Coker has scored uh you know he has a 33.8 eight PPR point game when McMillan was
135:53active. So >> yeah, >> there's, you know, he he has that going for him. Now, I do think it's still pretty bullish that McMillan like
136:01absolutely giganuked without Coker in the lineup. Like I don't it's like doesn't mean anything, but >> his three games with Coker playing are
136:09still really solid. Five for 75, five for 101, 6 for 86. Like those are good games.
136:15>> Right. Right. Right. So yeah, I mean I think they're both good plays, but I like what you're saying about Coker
136:20here. And it's just like they have reached the point where you you would say, "Hey, I'm going to break a tie to Coker
136:31because of the matchup. You know, this is this is a better matchup for Coker."
136:36And both these guys look like >> You could play doubles though.
136:40>> You could do doubles. You honestly could do doubles, which is crazy. I mean, I think we talked about after week one, we
136:46were like, "Yeah, well, one of these guys will get there, but never two."
136:49It's week, it's week seven and we're talking about >> No, it's flip because well, it they are so aggressive in terms of pass rate and
136:58Bryce Young has played so much better than we thought coming into the season.
137:02Like, it exists. It's actually the kind of guys you want to double is it's like we talked >> so concentrated. It's one of the
137:08Seahawks back in the day. Um, we we were talking about this at Hyo on the other show and it's like when you look at
137:14these teams that are the guys that are winning the large field tournaments, it's not necessarily the highest scoring quarterback. It's the guys that have
137:20these concentrated target trees and this is it. Like uh because like remember two weeks ago Drake May had 40 points against the Raiders and he wasn't even
137:28optimal because no one knew how to stack him. But Jordan Love was optimal that week because he had two dudes that you
137:34were like, "Yeah, we're playing these two guys. This is what this is what you have." And it's not even like the Giant
137:39situation where you have to take a step a step of faith cuz you're like, "Well, likely in neighbors will get theirs
137:45because the team will be so bad and they'll throw so much." Like the guy the quarterback's playing good. He's playing good here.
137:52>> Dude, they're playing a lot like the Bengals. And when you you look at their expected pass rate, it's very similar to
137:57the Bengals. They're 5% over expected, which is almost as high as the Bengals.
138:01They're 7% over expected on first and 10. The Bengals are 10%. So, it's they're a little Bengals light in their approach and they have, you know, the
138:10the two clearcut wide receivers. They have a part-time pure passcatching tight end. Like, this kind of looks like >> it is. Yeah. Darren Waller's Mikei.
138:20Like, it's >> Chuba Hubard's your Chase Brown. Chuba Hubard's maybe better Chase Brown.
138:24>> Oh, he's better.
138:24>> Doesn't really catch the ball, but yeah.
138:27>> Um, yeah. I mean, it's it's kind of nuts. I did not think we would be comparing the >> Bryce Young Panthers to the Bengals, but
138:33we are. We are.
138:36>> I mean, but they they they're swerving into it. Like we now are six weeks into the season and like they haven't
138:41wavered. Like they have played this way every week.
138:44>> That's true. That's true. They literally have every single week they've had a positive pass over expected and we've seen them um
138:54they were minus 1% in week three, but >> the one bad game the Browns like kind of give you like but since like it's just
139:01been same stuff back at back at it.
139:03They've been in a variety of game scripts as well. So we've seen like last week they had a 51% expected pass rate.
139:10>> Some teams might because teams play things differently. Like if you push someone a really negative game script, >> they might be willing to like just chuck
139:17it or they might be like no no no we don't p we're not a team that passes 73% of the time. Like you can't that's just
139:23not happening you know. And so it's interesting to see the Panthers. They've had expected pass rates bounce around 70 as high as 70. They've been at 64.
139:30They've been at 57, 56, and 51. And they are not like fighting against any of that. They didn't fully fully lean into
139:38the high expected pass rate against the Browns. They weren't that was a bad game for them. So, you know, that that's
139:45probably why. But, you know, maybe this isn't a team that like if they're in true shootout or or really maybe more
139:52trailing where they're going to like pass 80% of the time like the the Cowboys did last week, like maybe that's not really in the range of outcomes for
140:00them.
140:01>> But that's not what this game is.
140:03>> Maybe here though.
140:05>> Well, I mean, yeah, but I don't think they would need to, right? They% pass expected and be well below 80.
140:12>> Yeah, they won't need to. I'm Yeah, this is a they are still going to run at Chuba Hubard. It's just I'm not
140:16expecting I'm expecting this to be a spot where he you know they they they struggled to maybe not struggle is the
140:23wrong word, but like it's the Bucks like the Bucks have been just a really good run defense for multiple years now in a
140:28row and they've rolled it right back over at the start of this year too.
140:32Yeah. And Chuba is he's got a 7% target share, 0.66 yards per route run. He's he's not involved there. And Bucks
140:39seventh in rushing DVOA, sixth in EPA, sixth in rushing success rate, and teams are passing against them a bunch. And with as willing as Panthers have been
140:47willing to pass, I mean, this >> it makes sense like this is a is a pretty good spot.
140:52>> Um Panthers quarterbacks, they do have one pretty good quarterback, but one of their outside quarterbacks is also Jake uh Jacob Parish has been kind of a
141:00liability. So, >> um, this is like I think there's potential for big plays as well, which would be another reason to say like,
141:07hey, you know, it like I don't know if there's going to be a big ownership on Coker versus McMillan or something, but
141:13if there was, I I might use that to be like, well, >> yeah, I think >> kind of just depend on particular how
141:19particular targets go, you know?
141:21>> Yeah, Koker's interesting because he's priced like right around Golden and like Golden's going to be so popular.
141:25>> Yeah. Yeah.
141:28Yeah. I like I like him as a pivot off Golden. Golden, as we'll get to, is set up quite nicely.
141:33>> Yeah. Yeah. And and Golden played on Sunday night, so the pricing was locked in. Like, he probably would have been he
141:38probably would have went up uh based based on his game, but the fact that he didn't and now plays the Lions.
141:44>> Right. Right.
141:46Um anything else on on this game before we move?
141:49>> No. No. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, listen. Our Carolina Panthers.
141:54>> Seriously, man. It's crazy. It's fun.
141:57Coker. Coker's been a nice revelation. I mean, I wasn't uh as bullish as I should have been, but I was still happy to see
142:04>> I don't It wasn't a poker thing. It was a It was always like I didn't believe in the quarterback, man. I
142:09>> I didn't believe in the quarterback.
142:10Yeah, >> I fully just lean in to say that.
142:13>> I believed in the quarterback enough to take a lot of Tedron McMillan because I really believed in him.
142:18>> So, it's like but okay, now my I'm betting on the like another guy, but >> Cooker was so much cheaper that that
142:26clearly that was the right play. Um, and also he's really good. All right, Broncos at Cardinals. Uh, the Broncos here, man.
142:36Let's let's talk let's talk about the Payton stuff because you know, people were kind of joking Shawn Payton taking over play calling
142:44duties like >> Yeah.
142:45>> You know, he's doing that right before the game with the Chargers, you know, kind of classic. again, but then they
142:51did get the Seahawks the the following week, so he might wanted to have waited a little bit, but you know, they're
143:00Bonx has not been good over these last two weeks. Like, uh, he's he over the last two weeks, he is dead last in
143:09success rate at 31%. He has minus 6.9 EPA per game. One of those games does include the Seahawks, but you know, and
143:16the Chargers defense is actually okay.
143:19But the Payton stuff has not fixed anything clearly. And then you you have Payton at least being a little bit more
143:26aggressive on first and 10 than Davis Webb typically was. He got really conservative in those last few games on on first down. Payton's been at plus 3%
143:35compared to minus 18 to minus 17 in Web's last two games. So that that was like a little bit of a silver lining
143:40here as we move into a Cardinals matchup with the Cardinals obviously being much much worse than than the Seahawks and even than the Chargers. But it does seem
143:49like, you know, this is sketchy. This is getting sketchy. Payton was, you know, telling the media he isn't considering removing Nicks from the job. Like we're
143:57we're to that point. You know, this could be like a full-on like what the hell's going on in Denver, kind of
144:06similar to the way we feel about Justin Herbert right now. It could also be more like what happened with Drake May to
144:13begin the year where you get the schedule lighting lightening up in a huge way. Payton taking over play calling duties is actually bullish, but
144:20we haven't seen that play out because the matchups were kind of difficult.
144:24Where do you land on kind of where things are headed here?
144:26>> I feel like this is the spot to to give us to tilt us in the direction, right?
144:31Like because you can make the excuses so far like you had the Davis Web stuff.
144:35The schedule's been really rough for them to this point. Um they are winning games like they they manage these games to win them. They did win them. They are
144:43four and two. Um but I look at this spot you're you know they're not at home but they do have a 24 point team total and
144:49you have a team like where you could finally open it up against and do you do that or do you just say we have a team
144:56where we can also lean into the things we've been doing and just swerve into that direction even further, the abyss even further.
145:03>> I will say and it would be this is just me saying what I would do. I don't know what Shawn Payeyton's thinking, but like
145:08if I have a quarterback that we could have went to the Super Bowl with last year if he doesn't break his ankle, you
145:14know, potentially, and he's playing like this with literally no confidence to the point where he's getting national scrutiny, you know, on Thursday night,
145:22like, you know, everyone is dunking on him. Ryan Fitzpatrick's like going off on him. This would be a spot to get my
145:28guy some confidence back, like legit confidence back. And I would love to see him do that. Now, do they do that is a
145:34question. Uh, I mean this is this Cardinals team though. I mean they this is a spot, dude. Like they are 29th in
145:40passing points allowed. They're allowing the the most yards for pass attempt, the highest touchdown rate. They've allowed, you know, highest scoring QB1 games to
145:46guys like Drew Lockach and Jameus Winston. Like get your guy some confidence, man. This is the spot. You You gave a first round pickup for Jaylen
145:54Wadd who has more than 35 yards in one game. You're going up against an opponent that has without Will Johnson has been getting absolutely killed by
146:02wide receiver ones. get these dudes going. Now, will he do that? I don't know. But this is 100% the spot to do
146:08this.
146:11Yeah, I I completely agree. And and I think they've been trying to get Wadd more involved. I mean, he had a 29%
146:17targets per out run last week. Um he despite being double covered 38% of the time, so they were they were working to
146:24get on the ball. It didn't work. 1.0 yards per out run, 6.4 PPR points. He kind of has that Ibuka-esque profile.
146:31Not to the 27% target share of Ibuka, but 23% uh 23% targets per outr run as well, but just 1.43 yards per outr run. He looks
146:41like a positive aggression candidate. Um by that metric and then also by the fact that he's minus 1.5 fantasy points over
146:49expected per game. So this would be like a really nice setup to get Jaylen Wadd and Bon Knicks going. I do think they'll
146:59be balanced though in trying to, you know, create that bounce back, that rebound because, you know, this is a spot where the Cardinals are also pretty
147:09pretty bad. They're third worst in efficiency against play action. They're seeing the fifth highest rate of play action against them. The Broncos are
147:1713th in play action rate. So, that that is something they're using, but they haven't been efficient on play action.
147:22So, another part of their offense that you would expect them to want to get rolling. And the Cardinals are 24th in
147:30rushing success rate. So, and JK Dobbins has also been awful. Like truly awful as a runner. They they might get Coleman
147:37back here. So, >> yeah. Yeah, he's expected to. that could help in terms of, you know, I expect Dobbins will still lead the way on the
147:46ground, but, you know, you have him as like a secondary runner because Harvey's really just been like a like a receiver,
147:52you know, he's he's barely involved.
147:53>> Yeah. They've not like extended him his role at all as a rusher throughout the all the struggles of JK Ditz,
147:59>> right? But a 19% target share, so he's, you know, and 2.17 yards per hour run.
148:04So, you know, he's he's basically he's like Marvin Mims more than he is a running back.
148:10Um, but yeah, I mean I I think we're going to see Dobbins, maybe some Coleman, and then play actioning off of
148:15that. Um, and probably going like run first on first down, but maybe with a a lean to the run overall.
148:24>> Yeah, that that tracks.
148:27>> Um, how how much faith do you have? Like would you be looking to play Wadd here?
148:33Like >> Yeah, I mean I am I already made the case to Hyo like I'm definitely playing these dudes. I'm that like I'm going to
148:39play a a a definite bonix waddle stack and I probably will include Evan I probably will include Evan Ingram in it.
148:45Um so >> I don't know if I'm going to get there.
148:52>> Well, my thing is with a guy like Bo Nicks from like a tournament perspective like you always need two and it's like
148:57do I play Sutton or do I play Ingram and it's like I really just play like the cheapest dude.
149:02>> Yeah.
149:02>> U you almost always need two though. It was the same thing we talked about like Kirk Cousins last week like you had to
149:07play Tucker or mayor.
149:08>> Uh what's funny is it ended up being Tucker and Mayor, not Bowers that you >> Yeah, I know.
149:13>> But this like Bonix is a type of dude I guess he could run but like you usually need a secondary guy to come with the
149:18the big guy.
149:21>> But it could get spread around. It could be like Harvey catches a touchdown or Sutton gets one. Um >> Ingram was down to 53% participation
149:28last week, 62% against the Chargers and with those are the games where Pton's calling the plays. He was at 71 and 75
149:34the weeks before that. So, I'm a little nervous about his role.
149:36>> Yeah.
149:37>> Um I mean, I'm nervous about it, too.
149:40So, >> just run the optimizer, no rules, and see if he shows up.
149:49>> I know. That's what I just need to do.
149:50Just hit that hit the button and walk away.
149:54>> That's it's the key.
149:56>> Yeah, truly. Did I tell you like one year at the fantasy pros like rankings I just like ranked off ECR the whole year
150:03and like finished like like like 18th like I was I just didn't have the time to do it and I was like I'm just going
150:07to >> So you just with a snake eating its own tail. You're just off of the average.
150:14>> Yeah. I was just like you know if people knew the like stuff that goes into like those ranking contests like the how the
150:21sausage is made for all that stuff.
150:27We'll have to do angles and upside after dark. We'll we'll uh or maybe let's have have Pete get you on his afterdark.
150:34>> Get those details.
150:37>> Great brand building though. Great brand building.
150:39>> Yeah. Yeah. Um anything I mean Sutton we didn't talk about but you know as a bet on the matchup I do think he's fine
150:47here. I have him as a wide receiver five.
150:50>> Yeah. I mean if you have buys you're taking a shot you're just hoping to cash something in. He does have uh like big
150:54time right now he has 58% of their end zone targets. So again, if you're going to chase a touchdown, this would be the
151:01magic that no one's allowed a higher touchdown rate to wide receivers than the Cardinals.
151:06>> Yep. Uh, all right. On the Cardinals side, it is. I mean, I don't like that I'm feeling this way,
151:17but I am feeling like a little bit like I'm not even a huge Marvin Harrison guy, but I am definitely feeling a little bit
151:25of like, you know, you guys were maybe a little overconfident about how things were going to go when you got rid of the
151:33the the big field stretcher, like that you probably shouldn't have been using that way in the first place, but Michael Wilson has seen 34% and 41% double
151:42coverage rates over the last two weeks.
151:44>> Trey McBride 41% and 30%. There was that clip going around after last week of Hackett being like, I've never seen
151:50anything like it.
151:52>> Dude, I was sharing that. It was the replies to that were amazing, too, by the way. Like the replies Oh, so good.
151:59>> I did I we talked about I went through with the Lions. The Lions had not been double covering like at all until that
152:07game. Um, and you know, we'll talk about that with are they going to double cover here against the the Packers, which they
152:14very much should, but that made me feel like when I was and you know, looking at that like yesterday or the day before,
152:22it did make me be like, okay, like Hackit, it probably would have caught him more offguard than you would have thought just because it was not the way
152:29they play. Like they they didn't really double team Chris Olive. They uh they didn't double team Chris, sorry, Garrett Wilson very much at all. Um they didn't
152:38double team Toro McMillan when he dropped 45.2 points on that. He had 24% double coverage rate which is a little bit below average. So
152:47yeah like Yeah. Anyway, but these guys aren't like the most prepared team I've ever seen for >> it's not the most Yeah, they it's not
152:57the most prepared outfit for sure. Uh structurally uh 100% that's kind of played out like Michael Wilson's quotes were crazy on it too. He was like, "Uh,
153:06this is the first time in my career, uh, I pretty much got double teamed whole game. It wasn't fun. It was pretty hard
153:11to get open."
153:16But it's funny is like there are plenty of receivers that also face like double teams and bracket coverage and it's like
153:21so like Arizona has to find a way to combat this and last week, you know what they did? No answers to combat it. Like
153:27no answers to combat it like whatsoever.
153:31It is it is tough though because like you you there are receivers who are good enough to be like the number two and
153:40actually like produce like this guy's the really the number one but then if they are the number one they're no longer good enough.
153:47>> Yep. Yep.
153:48>> And and Wilson is starting to look like that kind of guy.
153:51>> 100%. Um, and it's like McBride is I think less that kind of guy, but he is a little going to be more boom bust um
154:02without >> McBride we absolutely know is a good football player.
154:05>> He's awesome, but he is a tight end that doesn't normally have to deal >> and he's not like a Brock Bowers like
154:12tight end. He's really good. I don't want to say that like any faction like but he's also not Brock Powers like in
154:18the capacity of >> Brock Powers is a wide receiver straight up >> like where you can ask him to win in a
154:22lot of spots and we've seen it happen with McBride >> um and it's the whole offense right like it'd be one thing if like McBride had
154:29like a yo low yards per target low yards per catch but it's the whole offense is like this it so like you could be like
154:37oh that's noisy like when we get to Amanra like I think there's a clear path to like why his yards per catch are
154:43down, but like McBride's are down because this is how the offense is running like yeah in totality like so like I think a lot of people are
154:52expecting this to like just bounce back based on volume but it's like actually look at how McBride's being used.
154:57>> It actually is a this is why his yards per catch are this low.
155:03>> Yeah, it reminds me of of Tyler Warren a little bit earlier in the season >> where he had a really shallow AOT and
155:10was really bad in open score. And we're seeing the same thing now with McBride where he has a 5.7 A dot which is quite
155:17shallow and he's fourth percentile in open score. When a player is running that shallowly >> and can't get open,
155:27>> there's always doesn't respect you >> like to to attack deep.
155:31>> But there's always still guys around you.
155:35Yeah, but I mean like you know Rashid Rice isn't that low or Puka's and Amaros
155:42rather is isn't that low. Um, so I think there are guys always around you to an extent, but it's it speaks to a
155:51compression of the defense, I think.
155:54>> And um, that's obviously really going to hurt him. Like if they can't >> because Michael Wilson isn't really a deep threat, you know, he's more of an
156:04intermediate threat himself. Um, no. I mean, this this offense doesn't throw the ball downfield because they don't have anyone that can create can earn
156:13targets downfield.
156:15>> Well, I mean, we only have a small sample on Jaylen Brooks.
156:18>> That's fair.
156:23I mean, he I mean, Jacobe sets 30th in yards for pass attempt. He's at the bottom of the league in area yards for
156:29pass attempt. Like that's like like we can't expect guys yards per catch and yards for target to go back.
156:36Like it's not it's not not necessarily noisy. Like it's part of the signal.
156:40Right. Right.
156:43Yeah. And the other thing is so the Broncos is as far as their double coverage they were not aggressive to begin the season. Um Rashi Rice 17%,
156:52Xavier Worthy 23. Uh Kelsey saw very little double coverage just 4% in week one. Parker Washington 25% which is you know a little higher but nothing crazy.
157:03That was the highest though of the main Jaguars. Uh they flipped though in week three. Puka's out so they double team
157:09Adams 30% of the time. Uh Mike Evans 32% in week four. Debo also 32%. KD 37%.
157:18Then they get the Chargers in week five with Lad and Quinton Johnson out. Trey Harris got hit with a 46% double
157:24coverage rate. Uh and then Jackson Smith and Jiggle last week 33%. they seem to be kind of shifting toward double covering the top guys.
157:32>> This is one of those teams where it's like, hey, there's now an established thing on on the Cardinals, too, where
157:37it's like, >> and their quarterback's not good enough to beat you, >> right? So, so I I mean, I just don't
157:43think this is going to change. I think we're going to see a lot of double coverage again for McBride and for
157:47Wilson. Uh, that's going to make Wilson a much tougher play. And, um, you know, McBride's still McBride, >> you know, he's still he's still an elite
157:55tight end one. It's It's kind of I've had trouble as I'm like writing these up. I'm like, "Yeah, he's like an elite
158:00tight end one, but like I for for Bowowers, I'm just starting to like write him up as a receiver. I'm like,
158:07he's a high-end wide receiver one that you play at tight end."
158:11>> Yeah. And my thing with the Cardinals is I've been trying to like because you know, like McBride, you're you're plugging in. He's he's definitely from
158:16PPR perspective like still getting you floor-based points. I mean, he leads the NFL on receptions. It's just like, you know, they're literally like a bunch of
158:24seven for 50s. like lately it's been it's been real rough.
158:28>> Um he actually has two games the past three where he's not even been a tight end one even with like seven seven
158:34catches which is again another thing and then like but I've been trying to say at least from the McBride angle like he
158:39might be a package up guy at this point because if it's like this now what happens when we go away from Jacobe
158:45Brassette like there is another layer of Hades that we could still reach. Maybe it's better maybe. Maybe it's better, but like there's another depth to still
158:56get to potentially.
158:59>> It could be better, but it could be wor.
159:01It could always get worse. That's the thing the NFL teaches you, man.
159:05>> It does, man. It does. So, like, and again, I don't think you sell McBride to sell. It's just someone might really
159:13want him still.
159:14>> Yeah.
159:15>> I think And I still think he's fine. I still think he's like, like you said, like the front of the I'm a little
159:20worried though, like cuz we're starting to see the floor. He had saved a couple games of some touchdowns earlier. Like the Seahawks game, he was really bad but
159:26had a touchdown.
159:28>> Um what do you have? Eight for 41 but had a touchdown.
159:31>> 18 points though. Yeah.
159:32>> Yeah. And then since then I mean it's been pretty bad. The Niners game they did a lot of volume but since then it's
159:37been pretty rough because even the Lions game he he kind of underperformed expectations like from we all had with the Lions.
159:46>> That's true.
159:47>> Even though he was still good but like >> I don't But that was that double cover.
159:51They, you know, they just, they were like, beat us without these guys. Beat us. And McBride still got there, right?
159:55Like with the 41% double coverage rate.
159:57>> Yeah, he's good. He's good. He made that sick ass touchdown catch as well, too.
160:01>> That was awesome, though.
160:02>> Yeah. Like I said, I don't think he's a dump. It's just I'm like, if I have him though, like I am kind of interested to
160:07explore like what if someone's still paying like 90 cents plus on the dollar though, like or like so maybe cuz you
160:15might have >> Can you go try to get Bowowers after that that down game?
160:18>> Yeah. Well, you might also have McBride and might have like luck boxed into like a likely too. Like you might actually
160:23have someone like and you're like, "Oh like I've been benching likely."
160:27Like maybe I should play >> this dude. It's like well, you know, I don't know. Like there's just like options. Like I don't know. I I'm just
160:35I'm just worried because they look like a really bad offense. These guys look like they're even from a volume based perspective like are not really getting
160:43there to the degree like we had last year. And we still haven't even seen Carson back play yet.
160:48>> And we're going to uh probably should mention the Broncos defense uh even without Patan has been
160:58really good. Um fourth in passing DVA on the year, third in EPA, seventh in draft.
161:03>> Jonathan Cooper coming back or no?
161:06>> I'm not sure.
161:08>> I didn't see >> because I I know like Jacobs is just like coming back, but like Jonathan Cooper was like a legit villain. I don't
161:14know if he's like welcome back in or not, but he was taken also off the exempt list, but like he's also a really
161:20good football player, unfortunately. So, it makes their defense a lot better.
161:26>> And did Certan get ruled out or not?
161:30>> I haven't seen uh any most of the late stuff since we've been recording I haven't really caught. Um I did see Zack
161:36Sharp was ruled out uh as well. It's funny after like they did a big thing about him playing I know. Didn't he
161:45practice in full?
161:46>> Yeah. Yeah.
161:48>> Um on Cooper. Yeah. I didn't I haven't seen anything since the reinstatement.
161:53>> It just says he's looked good in practice. I haven't seen if he's playing or not, but he's also I mean he is a
161:57really good player.
162:01>> Yeah. And uh they've been I mean that would they've already had a good uh pressure rate.
162:09Fifth in pressure rate, seventh in quick pressure rate.
162:12um ninth ninth highest blitz rate. So, this is just not like an a great setup for the Cardinal. The Cardinals are kind of
162:20doing the thing like we talked about how teams play the Bucks. The Cardinals kind of play like they're always playing the
162:27Bucks.
162:30>> Yeah, that's true.
162:30>> You know, like 2.52 second time to throw and to the first read. 65% first read attempt rate for Buret. It's just, you
162:39know, ball out quick, ball out to the first read. And that that's another reason why the double coverage stuff is really effective.
162:46>> Yeah.
162:46>> Against them, >> you know, it really screws up what they're trying to do.
162:51>> Um, so yeah, getting more predictable with that kind of offense is not >> Also, Nathaniel Hackett's running their offense.
162:58>> Nathaniel Hackett's running their offense.
163:02>> Let's not be lost. Let's not get lost here. Like somehow Drew Petting has made Nathaniel Hackett look like >> Petting's kind of having a little bit of
163:10a you know like he is I mean go go coach the Lions offense if if you want to kind of reestablish yourself as as an
163:19offensive mind that that is a smart thing to do. But he he looks I'm kind of encouraged by him. He's brought a little
163:25bit more of a pass. They're more balanced as opposed to run first now. I kind of like kind of like what Pensing's
163:30done.
163:31>> Yeah. And so like I mean we go back to like last year he got those guys open though. Like we're in the same spot.
163:36Like it should like structurally shouldn't be any different, right? Like Marvin Harrison Jr. wasn't playing the final like you know and these guys were
163:43cooking.
163:44>> Yeah. Yeah. No, that's that's true, man.
163:47>> It's not just a Marvin Harrison Jr.
163:48thing. He was out of the lineup.
163:50>> Yeah. Well, it is it's a Marvin Harrison Jr. thing with Nathaniel Hackett.
163:55>> Yes. 100%.
163:57>> Um any thoughts on the backfield? I mean, obviously loves out >> Bam Knight splitting with uh with Tyler Algier. Um kind of more fill-in stuff,
164:08you know. I had to start Bam Knight in the league last year or last last year, last week >> and ultimately was kind of happy about
164:14it. Yeah. Shout out picked him up for for our team.
164:19>> Yeah. Nate uh Knight uh what 60% of his runs were over expectations, the third highest rate last week. Uh only Kenneth
164:25Walker had more actual rushing yards over expectation than than Bam Knight. I don't know how static that's going to be. Broncos also had a weird
164:32>> static.
164:33>> That won't be static.
164:35>> And Alier just continues to be really rough. Like he is now only only Marshon Lloyd and Kendrey Miller average fewer
164:42yards per touch than Tyler Algier.
164:45>> It's real rough.
164:46>> Yeah, he's been really really rough.
164:48>> All right, let's get to the next game.
164:50Um, look, the wagons have been filled with dysentery uh so far this year, except
165:00the Lions. The Lions were our true wagon. They actually wagoned. They're the wagon who wagened. And when a wagon wagons, we we stick with them. This is
165:12not, I would say, a pristine setup for the Lions, but there are some pretty fun elements to this game and to the setup
165:19for the Lions offense. And uh they have a very high point total. So, the Lions are our wagon of the week.
165:26>> This is our wagon, baby. The wagon of the week.
165:28>> The team's just rolling right now. This team is just their wagon.
165:32>> They are [ __ ] wagon. We're going to have a nice old picnic. Load that wagon up. Like, we're whatever you need to put
165:37in that wagon.
165:38>> They're wagon.
165:39>> Yeah, this is our wagon of the week, baby. What is that?
165:41>> What does wagon mean?
165:44>> This is what I mean. We've got to recover because the that clip is so good, but it's been so like we've just
165:49been cursing all of these teams.
165:50>> Yeah, we we haven't cursed the Lions.
165:52So, either we're finally getting around to cursing the Lions or they're they're our heroes here as as our wagon. Um yeah, tell give me your thoughts on on
166:02what makes the Lions our wagon of the week. Well, I mean, we're getting the Lions at home off of a buy, like
166:08historically good spots for this team, right? And Jared Goff, I mean, he averages, you know, 20 fantasy points per game at home. Off of a buy the past
166:16three years, he's averaging 22 fantasy points per game. Like the this is usually where we want them. Uh, if this game was in Green Bay, maybe we would
166:23feel a little bit differently, but and this is when we get to the Packer side, too, like you like opponents know they
166:29need to score points in Detroit. Um, and that's what kind of like makes us more bullish in this spot because like you
166:36look at the the Packers defense. I was going into last week like all right, they faced a bunch of backup quarterbacks like they're going to get
166:43pushed by the Cowboys here and you know Jonathan Ganon already had a good history against Dak Prescott, but that rolled right into had Dak completely
166:49confused. They're another one of these teams doing what we talked about. Let's bring eight guys to the line of scrimmage. You don't know who's coming.
166:55We're going to show you a look. It's going to be different. They're number one in the NFL in disguise coverage rate
167:00post snap to pre- snap. And usually and honestly in spots like this, like they give these types of passers some trouble
167:06because if you want to use play action, like that's where they they get you because when you use play action, you
167:13have a read of the defense before you turn your back to the defense. So when you come back around and it's different,
167:17you're like, "Oh." But when you when a team rolls into coverage, it's changing in front of you, so you might be able to
167:22read it. So there could be some issues here with Jonathan Ganon. He has faced Jared Goff three times. Uh Jared Goff in
167:29those games 8.9 15.5 14.6 fantasy points. The last time they did play, he did throw for almost nine yards for pass
167:36attempt, but it was only 200 yards. So there is some potential volatility here, but I think this game being in Detroit
167:44gives us a little more confidence that Detroit is going to still be uh a team that has a lot of upside here.
167:51>> They have a lot of upside and the Packers have not defended the run well.
167:55uh 27th in Russian DVA, 27th in EPA, 25th in success rate, they're 30th in run stop win rate. Um so, you know, Jir
168:05Gibbs is a huge huge weapon for them.
168:08Explosive weapon out of the back field.
168:10I would say that that's something that sets them apart from the Cowboys as well. Yes. Um, and you do have like
168:18Prescott did just struggle against him, 27th percentile in EPA per play, but like the the Packers, they weren't that great against Carson Wentz in week one.
168:28They weren't great against Michael Penn in week three. Um, and you know, yeah, they were like pretty good. Gino Smith was like decent against them in in week
168:40two. Um, and they've they've like shut the other quarterbacks down, but it's like the Bears double backup situation.
168:47Yeah.
168:47>> Um, and then Jaylen Daniels. So, not exactly the most impressive opposing quarterback schedule. And a couple of the guys got there, Wson and Penn were
168:59both actually really efficient against them. So, I think >> Pennix makes sense because the marriage to the run game, right?
169:06>> Exactly. Exactly. And you look at what did those teams do? Minnesota had a minus 8% pass rate of expected. They had
169:13a 55% pass rate. The Falcons were at a 41% pass rate, minus 5% proe.
169:21I think that if I'm the Lions, I'm running this through Jir Gibbs.
169:25>> Absolutely.
169:26>> And and you know, building this around him. Now, some of that will be passing to him, but but you know, handing off to
169:32him a bunch and >> being really efficient. Like I think that's the the beauty of the Lions is that they can actually be run heavy in a
169:39way that's efficient and scores points.
169:41Like you don't it's not just grinding it out trying to limit possessions. Like no, we're going to attack you where you're weak and we're going to score
169:47points like the Falcons. Exactly. And >> with better passing games though.
169:51>> Better passing game.
169:53>> Yeah. And then Yeah. And then and then work off of that. And I I think that could be pretty damn effective on the
169:58Lions side. You do worry about on the Packers side. They they have Josh Jacobs back now. It does seem like he's gonna
170:05play. They've been a little bit ky on whether or not he will, but seems like he is going to. Yeah.
170:10>> Um and it's Matt Laflur, man. Like if if the Lions go run heavy here, are the one thing you could do is say
170:21we're going to go really aggressive in the past game, which they've been really aggressive in the past game over the last few weeks. and you know, we'd
170:28rather actually play you in a shootout because that's going to put Jared Goff in obvious dropback situations against the defense and we think we win in
170:36those. Um, but I don't have any faith in the Florida to do that.
170:41>> He did last year to be fair and they were in a way where they were, you know, not doing what they're doing now. You
170:47know, right now they're what, fourth in the league in pass rate over expectation. They've thrown the ball over pass every game but one. But I
170:54think this game being in Detroit also does give us push. I think like you said that you go inherently into Detroit. We
171:00got to score. And last year when the Packers played the Lions in Detroit, they threw the ball 5.3% over pass rate
171:07expectations.
171:08>> And Jordan Love had four passing touchdowns.
171:11>> Um it actually made Josh Jacobs a little more efficient in that game because remember they weren't like even a good
171:16run team >> um at that, you know, by by that point of the year. Um, so the fact that that one he's already did it and the fact
171:23this is in Detroit, I give I have a little more confidence that they are going to remain aggressive and then I
171:27have to think they have to be looking at this matchup from an internal scouting stance and saying like no, like structurally it makes sense for us to
171:33still do this here. But again, it is MFL is a wild card. Like >> if Jacobs wasn't back, I think they
171:39definitely would be. But I could see them looking at their internal scouting be like we have to get back to being
171:45balanced. This isn't we're not playing like we want to play and all that and all that crap. Even though this is how
171:52they should play.
171:54>> We have seen all the Shanahan tree guys though. All the Shanahan tree guys have been really aggressive this year though.
172:00>> That's true.
172:01>> Did you think they got out of pow-wow and like we're like >> Well, what about McVey losing to the Cardinals? Did he he exited early from
172:08the pow-wow?
172:09>> No. Uh well, he lost that game, but uh their pass rate was still over, was it not? I don't remember. I can't remember.
172:14I think it I think it was uh I'm actually not sure.
172:18>> Well, we're going to talk about that. He did some dumb [ __ ] though in that game.
172:21>> Yeah. Yeah. We'll get to that one in a second.
172:23>> I I think his game being in Detroit though does give us the the the acceleration uh for them to be like we
172:31need points. We need points >> to your point on >> and they won in Detroit last year with it with that approach. They have to be
172:36looking at and say like no, we went in there and we >> this is what we you know we took it to
172:41them.
172:42Lions opponents have a 70% pass rate this year, 6% pass rate over expected, a 7% shift in pass rate expected from from
172:51their average uh outside of the Lions.
172:53And then they also Lions opponents have the fastest pace uh against any team this year. So this is now the Packers
173:02have played slow this year, so I don't really trust them.
173:04>> Yeah.
173:05>> But it does it does speak to what you're saying, right? Like it's not just the Packers. Everyone knows you're going to
173:13play the Lions. You got to score points.
173:16And the Lions have had a lot of trouble on defense, which has made and which the Lions are well aware of.
173:22>> So the Lions are playing a more aggressive version of football than they've historically played. They're at a 0% pass rate expected. They they've
173:30typically had a lean to the run. They don't this year. They're 4% on first down. Um, you know, we've already seen
173:36them post two pass rates of of 70% or above. 71% against the Bills, 77% against the Panthers. Now, they were trailing in those games and having to
173:45chase points.
173:47But that's exactly what the Packers would like to do to them and could do to them if they're aggressive. So there is
173:52I mean there if the Packers really play this like you know you're saying like we're going to come in here and just
173:58outscore you. I mean this game could get nutty like they and and that's that frankly that is what they should do.
174:06Like Jordan Love's played not as efficiently as last year but but efficiently. And Matthew Golden looks pretty pretty damn good. Like he's he's
174:17really emerged. And Christian Watson has also been very strong. I mean, Watson's been more efficient, but just barely.
174:242.61 to 2.39 yards per out run.
174:26>> Golden though in some of the underlying stuff looks like the stronger receiver.
174:29He's 88th in open 88th percentile in open score. Watson's just eighth.
174:34>> Um he's he's had 18.9 expected fantasy points per game. Watson 15.3. So, he's earned a ton of volume, but the fantasy
174:42points over expected really favor Watson, which makes him kind of a negative regression candidate. and and Golden a positive aggression candidate.
174:50Uh Golden leads 26 to 21% in target share would would be a kind of more simpler way to put it. Like he's he's
174:57earning a lot of targets. They're both earning targets downfield. They have identical 14.9 A dots. So they both get deep targets. They both get intermediate
175:04targets. Um there probably is going to be some double coverage. Talking about how they just went all out, sold out to
175:12stop Michael Wilson and Trey McBride.
175:1434% and 41% double coverage rates. and then they get two weeks to prepare for the Packers. You would think that that
175:19leads to them doing the obvious, but you know, I will note they didn't really double cover much of anyone before that Cardinals
175:29game. So, it's not a guarantee that they do that. And they do, the Packers do also have Tucker Craft, you know, as a
175:35third weapon. So, >> the third guy, >> you know, it's not just truly a twoman offense. Um, but yeah, I mean, it's it's
175:43this game has has huge potential. Um the Packers like the Packers could come out out of this looking like the wagon.
175:51>> Absolutely. I actually think Josh Jacobs coming back is actually massive for the passing game too because the way the what the Lions have really struggled
176:01with defensively is one the play action pass and then two defending multiple tight end sets which the Packers have already leaned into to kind of correct
176:08their offensive line. They've been playing a ton of 12 and 13. Well, one also their receivers have all gotten hurt outside of the two guys,
176:14>> right? Um they get Savon Williams back, but he's like not a real receiver. He's, you know, but so so Josh Jacobs coming
176:22back and like cuz he's going to run, they are going to run the football more than they have with these, the the the
176:28vagabonds that have all been out here for sure. But remember when we left off last year, they were a bad run team in
176:35general. They might not just be a good run team even with Josh Jacobs, although he improves it. But if we can get them
176:41with the threat of a run and they're still playing heavy personnel and they're using play action, like this is the opponent to like crush what crush
176:47them with that.
176:50>> Yeah. And I think that's what that I do think that's what they'll do is is be like less pass heavy, but um the
176:59question is how much less pass heavy, >> right? They're definitely >> if they're a little less pass heavy, that's fine. That's that actually maybe
177:04is good. um if they get carried away, which we just have like a way too many examples of the floor getting carried
177:11away. I do think though the Lions element of this pushes like you kind of have to and with when you look at teams
177:18that are that have this um and I would say the Bills are you know a team like this where they get in their own way at
177:25times the spots where I worry more about them are not spots like this. It's when they're cupcakes.
177:32>> Yeah.
177:32>> Yeah. And so I actually think like I'm probably being overly pessimistic about Laflur in this spot because it's not really up to him, you know, if the Lions
177:43play the way that they'll probably be able to play.
177:45>> That's my thought is Yeah.
177:46>> Yeah.
177:47>> That's how I'm like, you know, maybe again it's cope cope. But like it makes sense though, right? Like >> Yeah. No, I think it does too.
177:56>> Yeah. So >> So I'm I'm I'm kind of talking myself. I mean, to be clear, like I am bullish on
178:01this game from the Packer side as well.
178:04I have Jordan Love as my number one quarterback this week. Um Oh, nice.
178:08>> Like, I ultimately think they'll they'll get there, but I have we have on our high stakes team, and unfortunately, this is probably going to go down as the
178:15wrong decision, but we've been arguing back and forth between Jordan Love and Drake May, and I've been voting May the whole time and getting outvoted uh
178:22whenever it's counted. And uh including last week when he outscored him by like two points. didn't really matter. But this week I voted love. First time I
178:31actually voted love and then May scored like 30 points. So So I should have we should have played.
178:36>> That's who my quarterback one was. This week was Drake May.
178:39>> Well, I guess I'm I'm I'm the May fraud now.
178:43>> Oh, look at you. Believer voting against him and >> I do a show with you, so I'm adjacent.
178:48So it's count.
178:48>> You are. You are definitely adjacent.
178:51>> It still counts. I picked up the torch.
178:54>> Thank you.
178:56Thank you. I'll be back next week though.
178:57>> But it was a weird to be fair though like Drake May probably shouldn't have had that many fantasy points. We'll do.
179:01Well, he threw a red zone interception so maybe it washed but like the Arandre touchdown and he had a rushing touchdown. Those are
179:06>> and he got the garbage time to get over 300 yards if you know.
179:10>> Yeah, my draft games basketball bags appreciated that.
179:14>> Yeah, we'll take it, man. We'll take it.
179:16But yeah.
179:16>> Yeah, I the wild card here I think is Craft who just hasn't quite looked like himself yet. And you know Brian Branch
179:23is coming back for the Lions. Does that matter? They've they've just been so bad against tight ends. Like they had a buy
179:29and they're still by far like the worst team points allowed to tight ends. Um even with a buy, they've allowed the
179:36most points to tight ends through six weeks in the 2000s. But they they are getting Brian Branch back. But he's also
179:44a way if they are going to double team these receivers, >> we're going to need Tucker Craft to do some stuff.
179:50Yeah, I think the if I was kind of painting the craft picture, I think it would be as much about the the
179:57pass rush as the double team stuff because >> yes, >> the Lions, they have they ranked fifth in quick pressure rate. Um and
180:05>> the only thing they do well is rush the passer, >> right? Aiden Hutchinson's played awesome. So, um, you know, that that
180:12creates a situation where maybe they need to get the ball out even quicker.
180:16And Jordan Love is playing that same kind of like get the ball out of my hands super quick style that like Jacobe
180:25Buret is, but the ball doesn't go 30 yards downfield. It go he's got a 9.58 out, 14% deep pass rate, which is very
180:34high, attacking 10 plus yards downfield and over the middle on 15% of his throws, which is one of the highest rates in the league. And that's with a
180:40very very fast like Aaron Rogersesque time to throw. Uh I do think that creates a little bit of a like a a
180:49needle to thread there, right? Like you don't have you don't have an extra beat.
180:54You're you're trying to throw like 15 yards, right? That's the eight out of both his top receivers. 14.9. You're trying to get 15 yards downfield
181:03in two and a half seconds.
181:06It would be nice if you had 2.75 seconds or three, you know, you don't have that half second and so it just kind of
181:13creates and you look at what what's going on with the receivers and Watson has has taken some a lot of his
181:21points are on Yak. He you know he took connects and then he's taken some stuff to the house and then with Golden he
181:27hasn't fully connected on really awesome target ball. I mean, he has 2.39 yards per hour, and it's not like he's been
181:33bad, but he hasn't like fully delivered on on really like an an elite profile.
181:40So, >> Mhm.
181:41>> this unfortunately is not, I would say, like a getright spot in that sense where he has that extra time to throw. And in
181:48fact, it could push targets to to Tucker Craft who's been operating more underneath. Um, is kind of that, you know, they they throw screens to him.
181:56He's in the 90th percentile for tight ends and screens. uh 16% of his yards uh coming on screens, which is what's 90
182:0290th percentile. So, I I do think Craft has some like, you know, if the receivers fail or one of them fails,
182:11Craft steps up. Uh >> but I wanted to mention that pressure point is uh as part of the reason why >> he's in blocking a little bit more uh in
182:20the pass game. He has he's 11 pass blocking snaps, which you you say 11 is not a big deal. It's like those are five
182:26routes a game, five and a half routes per game. you know, that could be a thing.
182:30>> Yeah. No, that that does matter. Um, but yeah, I think he he's still interesting here. I I'll also note just on the
182:36double coverage stuff, Matthew Golden, uh, has had two games where he got double covered at a higher rate, 35 and 37%, 2.38, and 4.56 yards per out runs
182:46in this game. And then Christian Watson, uh, he's he's seen high rates in three games, 34, 3, 33, and 33. Was at 3.87
182:54yards per out run, 1.37, and 4.77. So, both guys have actually handled double coverage when it's come pretty well. Um, if you know if the Lions like fully sell
183:05out to stop them, they probably can stop at least one of them and maybe Craft blows up.
183:11>> Yeah, like we said, this stuff happens to teams that have condensed target trees. They face double coverage rates.
183:16It's that they're in a scheme that is also good versus the Cardinals.
183:20>> Exactly.
183:21>> Versus Yeah, that's exactly right. Yeah, it's not as dire as the Cardinal situation because we actually trust Laf as much as I'll get on the floor for for
183:28some of the conservative play calling stuff.
183:31>> Yeah, he's clearly >> he designs a good offense.
183:32>> Yeah, he clearly designs a good offense.
183:35>> Yeah.
183:37>> Um, anything else on the Lions side? We we didn't talk about Amanra or Jameson or or Leaporta.
183:44>> Well, yeah. Also, Gibbs is getting Cade Maze back this week. They're getting their center. So, like uh the off line's
183:49been a little shaky. So it's nice. He gets a little bit of a if you needed Jir Gibbs to have some another
183:54rich get richer. Yeah.
183:56>> Uh he also gets him back too. Yeah.
183:58Ammon like I said I was alluding to you like so his his like yards per catch are like way down for career but I actually
184:03f like underneath like found out why. Um cuz he actually had his he's his he's actually uh his A dot is higher a little
184:10bit higher too but it's like an outlier but on throws 10 or more yards downfield this year he has his lowest catch rate
184:16like by far. M >> so he's he's only caught 50% of his targets in previous years. uh 62% 73% 65% 73% like if he's going to keep
184:27getting targeted like that I think like eventually those will just cuz when those start to connect the that's how the yards go higher right
184:35>> um so and and and the rest of his stuff is still elite like he's fourth and early down target share he's the wide
184:40receiver three and third down target share the tops in red zone like and we've seen the Packers for as like good
184:46as they've been they have given up some games to wide receivers you know Drake London obviously the big game uh week
184:52won. Justin Jefferson had two touchdowns, had 90 yards against them.
184:55So, you you know what you got with Alman Raw in terms of insulation. He's been a little bit down the past couple weeks
185:01based on the bar he's set, but you still know we saw what we got here.
185:08>> Yeah. And what you're saying with him is backed up by by a couple of numbers I have where he's his yards per target's
185:15only 6.8.
185:17>> Um that's with a an 8.4 A dot. Um that's that's 1.3 yards lower than you'd expect for that A dot. Um and then he's also
185:28minus one fantasy points over expected per game, which you know he's averaging 20.8 PPR points per game. Like when a
185:37guy does that, he's usually running hot.
185:41You know, to be running cold as a receiver and and scoring 21 points per game >> is pretty cool. Um, so yeah, I mean I
185:49think he's he's a great great play. Uh, Jameson Williams, I I noted he's like kind of back to the really high A dot
185:59stuff in the the Petting offense, 17.1 AOT, but he's 94th percentile in open score and coming off his two best games,
186:08and those were AOTs of 17 and 32 and a half. Um, I think we're back to kind of boom bust Williams, but he is good. you
186:17know, he's just not like for fantasy, he's just not as uh reliable. He's not going to get those intermediate targets the way we were kind of hoping he would.
186:25You know, a couple years ago it's like or last year, I can't remember, kind of both. It's like he's going to get the
186:30intermediate targets. But >> the problem is there's always just only a finite number of targets like >> you know, >> it always is. You have Gibbs, you have
186:38Aman Rah who are always going to get their stuff and then you have two guys competing for third and fourth wheels
186:43here in Leapora and Williams. It's just you even a team as good as the Lions like you run out of targets,
186:50>> right? But there's still there's still, you know, factoring him in. He's not >> Yeah. Yeah.
186:54>> He's not just sacrificial.
186:56>> No. No. Yeah.
186:59>> Um speaking, >> you have to live with like last week he you know, he had the four the week before the buy he had the four targets.
187:05He just made them work.
187:06>> Yep.
187:08>> Put them.
187:08>> That's going to be the story. I think uh Isaac Tesla very much sacrificial 48% raw participation though last week so I
187:16don't even think he's like not even >> like I don't want like him as a cheap piece of this game in any like in DFS or
187:23anything like that like no thank you.
187:25>> Uh Leaporta has been very consistent in his route participation. Um he's 93rd percentile in open score.
187:32>> This sets up as a pretty nice spot for him too, right?
187:34>> Yeah, absolutely. Um they've faced like Packers again we talk like their schedule just a real light they haven't really faced any good tight ends yet I
187:41guess Coulson Lovelin but it was lovelin with Beant and it was pre yeah it was not Caleb like we've seen there's a
187:46different Coulson Lovelin now but and then the rest of the guys are all you know Kottton uh you know Kyle Pittz the
187:53Jets guys uh Hawinson like you know Jake Ferguson the ghost of Jake Ferguson now um so definitely a better spot and like
188:01I said they're at home where we kind of count on the offense to do some lifting but with Leaporter and Williams, you it
188:06usually ends up being one or the other.
188:08It's very rare that they both did. And last week, the week five, I should say it was, but it was Aman Rah who was kind
188:14of on the outside, which is very rare >> um out of it. But >> you you play these guys. You just play
188:20all these guys.
188:20>> Yeah. Yeah. 100%. All right. Rams at Raiders. Um Rams the the wag the wagon that was >> Oh, we killed the we killed all these
188:31guys now.
188:32>> Yeah, dude. This is this is a wreckage.
188:37Are you ruining this team?
188:39>> Oh, dude, they are cooked.
188:42They are they are cooked. And and uh the pass rate we mentioned, they they did go conservative last week, but relative to
188:48a high expected pass rate. So they they fought again. This is how crazy last week was. They fought against is what
188:55what was their team total? 30.
188:56>> 32 is the highest.
188:58>> God damn. So they had a 70% expected pass rate with a team with a 32 implied
189:07team total and uh yeah pass 66% of the time. So minus 4% POE. They did not like that level of pass heavy script. They
189:16fought against it. Uh kind of brutal.
189:19Kind of brutal. Obviously Adams got hurt. Uh he'll be out for >> maybe the whole year. Yeah.
189:25>> Yeah. Probably came off.
189:30That sounds bad.
189:32>> Sounds real bad, dude.
189:33>> Those aren't supposed to come off.
189:37>> Apparently, it was already hurt and like it f like it just >> again. We never know this stuff, right?
189:43Like we never know like when we the Aaron Jones thing when it like they just talk about that. It's just like
189:48>> God every week you've been giving this dude a 90% touch share. Like is that like >> you think of like the John Voit and
189:54Varsity Blues all the time. That's like >> you know that they have to just be like like ah like like [ __ ] it just like
190:03another another errand like you know what I mean? Like there can't when that happens there can't be like much pre-plann. It's like when I uh order ice
190:10cream at like 9:30 p.m. Do you know what I mean? Like did I my planning this is I sit down on like Sunday and like plan
190:18out my week and like and on Thursday night I'll eat ice cream at 11.
190:24No, this is pure impulse, baby.
190:28>> We need to score a touchdown here. Get Aaron Jones back out there.
190:31>> Ramp it up.
190:36>> All right, Puka Nagua looking like he might miss this game now with the cap injury. Not a serious injury thankfully
190:41sounds like, but he's a game time decision, right? Was the latest.
190:45>> Yeah, he's not practice.
190:47They're going to be a true game time decision. And of course, this is an afternoon game. And it would have been a
190:52spot where he was going to be like massive chalk.
190:55>> Mhm.
190:56>> Uh, for sure.
190:56>> I had him as the, you know, on the rankings, I put Puka as the as the the picture and then had to change it to KD.
191:05I was like, well, sorry. Sorry about that. So now we might have no Puka, no Adams like Canannada Mumfield, Jordan Whittington are going to get involved
191:15here because well Mumfield was already going to probably play for Adams and then usually when you have when Nua is usually out
191:24>> uh you know with like they always used to use Whittington but then like Mumfield was this guy for when Neu was
191:32out the two games earlier this year.
191:34It's just a mess, man. like they were already going to probably play a lot of 13 personnel and they're planning it.
191:38Last year when Adams missed the final three games, they played 13 personnel 54% of the time. Um they're going to they haven't been throwing to the
191:47running backs more this year. So I imagine they're going to keep doing more of that because those guys are just better players than the wide receivers
191:53they have left. But if there's no pukina like it's truly like not very there's not a lot of good players here.
192:02>> Yeah. I mean literally like 22 Atwell healthy scratch last week. Um CJ Daniels was a healthy scratch last week. Another
192:11one of the receivers. Jordan Whittington's been playing like a little tiny >> play special teams. Yeah.
192:15>> Yeah. It's like 10ish% round participation the last couple weeks, but really not a a guy who's involved at all. Um I I agree with you. I think
192:25we're going to see a lot of passes to Kairen who's played really well as a receiver this year. And then Tyler
192:31Higgby and and Kobe Parkinson probably going to get a bunch of the work uh I could also see them doing
192:41um Davis Allen and just go like the three tight end stuff and then you with Mumfield, you know, you only have to
192:48play Mumfield who's the only guy they seem to trust. uh you know so >> the other thing they can do >> which maybe gets clamped on if the wide
192:58receivers are bad is like with the Raiders you can run on the Raiders uh you know so you know do they go back to
193:04maybe this more of a a runheavy approach because the Raiders have just been they they've been getting just killed by backfields
193:12>> I think you kind of have to to an extent I mean >> yeah there's no doubt >> they have a 3% passer expected on first
193:18down 1% overall um I would be surprised if they if they don't lean on the run more. But yeah, I mean this is it's
193:28it's a bummer because Puka was going to smash here. Um you know >> Oh, >> and he still might, I guess, but like
193:38we're flying blind. We we literally are flying blind. And he already has had two other injuries which I I doubt like this
193:45is a I doubt his calf is is compensation to the other ones. Uh but like he's been nicked up though. So like do they really
193:53even push it? But they also are two and four, >> right? Don't push it. Any any calfs and calves and Achilles tendonitis. Let's
194:02let's rest our guys, please.
194:04>> And it's not even a calf from the week.
194:05Like it was a Thursday calf.
194:07>> Yeah. Thursday calves we rest.
194:09>> Like >> right.
194:11>> It sounds pretty ominous that like I would say the tea leaves are probably a no.
194:16If he plays, I'll know because I mean, you know, whatever. Like, if he doesn't play, I guess you can play Tyler Higgby
194:22in tight end premium or DFS or something, but same with Parkinson, but you know, not a ton of interest in the
194:27passing game. Um, Mumfield's I mean, having said that, how interested are you in Mumfield if if Puka's out? If Puka's out, God, we're
194:38it's such it's so hard, man. This guy just has like no sample.
194:43He had that good game against Denver, but like I guess everyone else was out in that game too because Ferguson and
194:48Parkinson both got hurt that game and Puka was already out. So like there's some signs left. Adams was playing though and Adams was wrecking that night
194:55too. So it made sense that you know he could get some one-on- ons. But man, I I would still like be like a pretty
195:02hesitant like screw it. I need a wide receiver three. I'll play him. But like I it could be a good game or it could be
195:09nothing. I don't really have like a great read on it.
195:12Yeah, I think he'd be like a wide receiver three for me. Um, like are you playing him or Chris Godwin?
195:20>> Probably Godwin.
195:22>> I think I'd play Mumfield.
195:25>> It's gotten that bad for Godwin.
195:27>> I just like I think I would be like >> at the end I don't think I'm going to be like I can't believe I didn't play this
195:34guy in >> True. True. But what if you're just like I want eight points.
195:38>> Then I play Godwin. This is all I want is eight points out of the spot because Mumfield could get you eight.
195:45>> Does six get me there?
195:47>> He could get you. I need three >> because there's also like this wild card like what if they did play Whittington?
195:53Like I don't know. Like I don't know what the hell they're doing.
195:55>> Yeah. I don't know what they're going to do, right? And I I think it could run through so much through the tight ends
196:00and the backs. I mean, it could be the kind of the it could be the the 49ers thing, except they're, you know,
196:06obviously right Higgby isn't KD, but and Kairen's not Maccaffrey, but Kron's good.
196:12>> But they're playing both like that, you know, they're going to do the combo. So, it's they're going to be in heavy
196:16personnel. So, you'll have Parkinson and Higgby who are are okay enough. And Parkinson actually has touchdown equity.
196:22Um, and then you got the running backs.
196:24They've been throwing to Kron a lot more this year than they have. Even Cororm's got a few targets the past couple weeks.
196:28>> Cororms could look good, too, in the in the passing game. Yeah.
196:30>> Yeah. And um Cororm's been pretty electric still in their run game, too.
196:35They both are good in the run game. They got >> If there was ever to actually play a running back in the slot,
196:40>> Kiran, >> if they don't do it, if they don't do it this week, then we, you know, beat reporters need to be banned.
196:46>> Well, they're not going to play like any slot stuff, right? Like it's going to be heavy personnel. Probably one wide on
196:51the field most of the time.
196:53>> Parkinson is your sacrificial ex.
196:57He's kind of very I mean he's kind of your slot guy. It's Parkinson, right?
197:01>> No, I know. I know.
197:02>> I'm I'm just going >> No, I mean it's off the rails here.
197:06>> It's just it's just very like it's just it's kind of wide open. That's why I feel like you can't even like super lean
197:11into Mumfield because like they could just do weird [ __ ] man.
197:17>> I agree. I agree. But I I think you you pl you go ahead and just like you'll say blind blind dart like if you need a wide
197:23receiver three by all means but because it could be good still too. He could get design stuff as the as the dude. Yeah.
197:30And situations like this I think are just you know we talked about like the Woody Marks thing where it's like well
197:35he's not good but like he's at home and he's going to get so much work. Like those situations are actually a lot
197:40cleaner than these situations at receiver where it's like >> because we don't actually know. We don't know what they're going to do if they're
197:49gonna like because Mumfield's like sort of the next man up, but Tutu Atwell might be the guy who, you know, ends up
197:55being the best play here. That would not surprise me at all.
197:58>> He's he's been with the team for a long time. I know he just, you know, took the summer off, but he's back now.
198:05>> Summer in Miami.
198:07>> He just had a nice little summer in Miami before returning to LA. I mean, you know, it seems like a pretty good
198:12way to split up your time. But, uh, anyway, yeah, I mean, he's he knows the offense probably as well as Mfield, if
198:20not better. So, anyway, it's just it's just tough. Um, but the Raiders are vulnerable through the air. So, if Puka goes, they're going to trust him. Yeah,
198:31they're vulnerable everywhere. So, >> I'll say this though, if you have Mumfield, like hopefully it's on the Puka team. Hopefully, you just grab like
198:39you grabbed him and it's easy then it's easy to wait. It'd be really funny though if Mfield scores like three points.
198:47>> Yeah, true. But you at least get to wait. There's going to be a lot of gamers that don't have the luxury.
198:52There's only three four o'clock games, you know.
198:55>> Yeah.
198:56>> So, like >> we have a Sunday night Monday night.
198:58>> Yeah. But you're not playing any who what Chiefs guys and what Seahawks guys are you holding to play for Puka?
199:04>> Xavier Worthy.
199:05>> You How many How many teams do you think have Xavier Worthy?
199:08>> Not that many.
199:10>> Eagles Cowboys.
199:12Eagles, Cowboys, you you don't have Puka probably with >> Pick up Mai Lemon, baby.
199:16>> Yeah. Yeah, there you go.
199:18But the pro Yeah. The problem is you don't have a lot of uh 4pm swap guys for Puka probably. I'm I
199:26assume some rosters do, but like probably a lot don't.
199:30>> If you had like if you could pick up like a Wix.
199:34Um >> he might not play either.
199:36>> Or Lemon. Let's let's say >> Lemon Lemon because the Chiefs are rough. Like if you if you have worthy that's what I guess but it's against
199:44Seattle but like you we saw with the Chiefs we're not going to talk about that game but like we saw last week like
199:48those other dudes that played >> Yeah. They don't matter. Uh maybe like Cooper Cup's available for you like a Cooper Cup. Uh and like you don't feel
200:00great about it but it's at least a body you could carry till four o'clock.
200:05>> Yeah. If you So it's like a cup or a lemon and and puka or would you play like that DK maf?
200:14>> Yeah, like in the morning. Yeah, that's and and we're probably operating on the side of like it doesn't make sense for
200:20him to play too.
200:22>> I think I would just play medaf.
200:23>> Yeah. Like >> so it's just it's it's just a real rough side. They should just declare him out and make it easy for us.
200:29>> Yeah, let's just declare him out. Let him get right. Uh all right, Raiders.
200:34Brock Bower's coming off a disappointing game. Michael Mayer feasted on underneath targets. Interesting note on Mayor from last week. 30% targets per
200:43out run, 13% first read target rate.
200:47This was a a checkdown situation here with Michael Mayer. Um Brock Bowers had a 15 AOT, his deepest of the year. Seems
200:56like they were trying to get him targeted a little bit more downfield.
200:59Wasn't going great and so Mayor benefited from that. didn't see a lot of double coverage Brock Bowers 20% rate so that wasn't really the problem. Um
201:09>> Trey Tucker obviously had a great game.
201:10>> Christian Benford got in his ass dude which is Christian Benford was balling in that game.
201:19>> So what what's your read then in uh in this match up? Trent McDuffy is is out.
201:24So >> yeah, Nate Landman's also going to be out too, which you probably wish he could run routes against Nate Landman,
201:30but uh he's like a >> he's out bearish.
201:34>> Well, because he's like a traditional like Mike. So when you look at Bowers, like it Bowowers's splits this year. I
201:40talked when we talked about this when Spags played him.
201:43>> Um he did nothing against the Chiefs cornerbacks that game, but it was all safeties. Like Bowers is too good for
201:49safeties and linebackers. Like he's just too good. like he's just but like he still isn't a real he isn't we talk
201:56about him as a wide receiver but like also like these cornerbacks that can actually run with real wide receivers can play with him. Um and that's like
202:04the an angle that I still am like approaching still with him is interesting. We wanted to see in week uh five when they were playing the Patriots
202:11but Gonzalez was out.
202:13>> U but McDuffy being out is a big deal because like he would have seen McDuffy outside but the ba the Bills just let
202:19Benford guard him anytime he went out wide. He only caught two two catches for 26 yards uh out wide. His big play came
202:27against uh he was actually in line at tight end. Ran an awesome route on Trell Bernard. I don't know if you saw play
202:32Trell Bernard was just like looking for him. He's like where'd Brock Powers go?
202:35Like Brock Bowers cooked him. Uh >> so like the one thing is as cool as the Brock Bowers experience is like I still
202:43am very interested in how teams approach defending him.
202:46>> Yeah.
202:47Because again like he still isn't like a wide rece he it's cool to talk him as a wide receiver but if you have good
202:53quarterbacks like they can play with a Brock Bowers like the the fastest tight end is still not the f like these dudes
202:59run with guys that run four threes and guard those guys. So it's just something I'm interested in. I think Bowers is
203:05still like a jam and you smash him. Uh especially he gets a bump because McDuffy's out. Uh but I hope the Raiders
203:11are more cognizant of what happened last week too. I hope last week they learned something from it. Well, >> you know what I mean? Like
203:18>> Yeah, I I do. But also like Bowowers is getting So he had 98% round participation last week, a 15 AOT. Um
203:26you know, and playing in the >> 70 yard still by the way.
203:29>> He still had 70 yards. Yeah.
203:32I think I've been just my write up just been the same like he look he's a wide receiver and kind of just talking about
203:38him like a wide receiver. Michael Mayer 71% route participation last week even with Bowowers literally running like every route almost. Um
203:47he's a wide receiver like he he he goes out there and plays wide receiver.
203:51There's going to be weeks from these guys like you know a CD Lamb is going to have some down weeks you know and I
203:58think Bowowers is kind of moving into that >> that thing but I think the advantage of this role is that now he's only peaked
204:06at 27.6 six points, but I think this role gives him like 40 point upside.
204:12Like he could go crazy.
204:14>> It also should be in theory, like I said last week, they I would have liked to seen last week when Benford was clearly
204:20giving him problems.
204:22>> Hey, let's get him away from there.
204:24Let's move him back. Let's get him in the slot and in line more because he should have that ability where the wide
204:30re the real wide receivers like we talked about don't. Like you can move the wide receiver to the slot, but like
204:35dude, you can move him to any position.
204:37>> Yeah, I I I hope they do that too because I'm pretty heavily invested in Brock Bowers.
204:42>> I'm just talking from like an in-game perspective. Like if something's not working with Brock Bowers, they should be doing stuff to find things that work
204:48for Brock Bowers because he he can do it. You could you can't do stuff with Brock like the wide receivers that you
204:54can do with him. But I I do I think what happened last week is still bullish for Bowowers in a in a macro sense because
205:01>> you don't want a defensive plan that takes away Bowowers in any way. Like it wasn't through double coverage, it was
205:08through cornerback coverage, but you don't want that to become like the template. And Mayor >> uh you know, they lost the game and and
205:15the Tucker touchdown was late and but they're playing the Bills. They hung with the Bills with the Bills.
205:20>> And Mayor has a really nice game. Yeah.
205:23Hung with the Chiefs. Uh, and then Trey Tucker has a really nice game, too. 2.77 yards per out. Run for him, 3.17 for for
205:31Mayor. So, this wasn't like a like a light bulb going off for the league kind of game. Like, the Raiders were still
205:38efficient. Kurt Cousins was still very efficient last week.
205:42>> Um, he had do I have it? He was he was still um quite good in EPA per play. Um, and so I I think there's going to be
205:53some games where it's not running through Bowers, but there's going to be a lot more games where it is running through Bowers. And, you know, I still
205:59feel really strong, really good about where where he's he's standing here.
206:04>> Um, and with McDuffy out, I I do I do think that's a pretty big deal.
206:08>> It's definitely he's been awesome since they've got gotten him. Um, yeah, and they're also out a couple defensive tackles. They lost Puna Ford
206:17and because this is just going back like the we like we didn't wag in the defense but like dude they lost uh Kobe Turner
206:23and Puna Ford too. Like it's not just Devonte Adams like they got dudes out everywhere.
206:29>> Yeah. And this this defense has been a little bit of a runf funnel where um they're not that great or they're not
206:37that that vulnerable against the run, but they're not great against the run and they've been really strong against the pass particularly in coverage. Um,
206:45but maybe that is changing a little bit.
206:47Josh Allen was really efficient against them two weeks ago. Jacobe Brassette had a really strong success rate against them last week. So, you know, because of
206:55these injuries, you could see um you know, Kirk Cousins being pretty efficient here. And like Cousins, uh I didn't include his weekly EPA in the in
207:05the chart, but for the season, 9.4 EPA per game, which is quarterback 8, and a 51% success rate, which is quarterback six. basically was like
207:15overlapping with Drake May before um last night's game. Uh really really strong stuff from Cousins. Some of that's been garbage time east is you
207:25know or like late desperation time maybe not pure garbage but um but like kind of so what for our purposes and also like I
207:34didn't think we talked about this last week like Cousins when it gets down to when they know he's got to throw like
207:38that that gets dangerous for him. He's actually been pretty pretty good. Like he's >> Yeah, you'd rather have it be, you know,
207:46Yeah.
207:46>> kind of in the Kubiaak system, but I did not think that Cousins had this left in him that he could be like a guy,
207:54>> you know, that we get down >> by a couple scores and then we're going to get some production late like that. I
208:00thought we were to where he he's checking down to a running back and then getting strip sacked, you know?
208:07>> Yeah, 100%. Uh like I said, the injuries helped them. and they've they've getting pushed. So like they I could see that I
208:12mean listen the Cardinals just beat the Rams. So like to say like the Raiders who have been live a bunch of games
208:18can't like would be kind of full hearty >> uh you know especially at home. So >> they're in all those injuries are like
208:26said they stand out. You just hope that uh they can keep the game tight because that's when it is like even last week he
208:32got there from like uh the the end like you don't want it to turn into the Patriots situation either where they
208:37just remove him from the game. So, >> well, yeah, yeah, yeah. That's that's obviously really bad. Um, the Raiders run game, uh, Mike Washington
208:48was dealing with an injury. He's officially questionable.
208:52Uh, but he doesn't look to have practiced today. So, um, and I think he suffered the injury on Wednesday and then mispractice Thursday and Friday.
209:03That would be, you know, pretty typically a guy does not play. um wasn't didn't have an injury last week, listed limited Wednesday, misses Thursday,
209:13Friday. So, it looks like in-game or sorry, in practice injury that he suffered. Uh >> never good.
209:19>> Never good. And sets up Genty for a much bigger role as a runner, but Gent's had pretty consistent roles in the receiving
209:27game. uh he dropped a 10% target share in week three after starting out 21 25% that was Bow's game first game back but
209:35then since then 17 15 16% target shares pretty consistent usage um his rushing work has has been declining a bit um
209:45after really strong workloads in the first three weeks he's been banged up but also Mike Washington has had some work in those games but Jenty's been at
209:5358 56 and 50% carry shares I was kind of thinking of Mike Washington as like the Kalin Black with Genty in kind of a
210:01Macaffreyesque role. It's not quite to that level. He's not as good as McAffrey. He's not seeing as many targets as McAffrey, but 17% target
210:09share is at least like kind of in the ballpark of a Macaffrey receiving role.
210:13He's been much worse as a runner though and um and yet still seeing more of a carry share than McAffrey typically
210:21does. But at this point, you you'd have to think Mike Washington's absence would help get some of those carries back.
210:28>> Um, and I kind of like betting on Gent's receiving role here. I think that, you know, I do expect the Raiders to hang
210:35with the Rams. So, I I'm still fairly bullish on Genty. You know, kind of looking around where other people have him. I was like, "Oh, I like I he's an
210:43RB1 to me still, especially with with Washington out."
210:46>> I cannot believe we did not get a message last week. Maybe we've killed it. The the the the the listeners have
210:54dropped us off. We talked about last week the scenario of Davis and Ignosen getting an offensive defensive pass interference and setting up the JT
211:04one-yard touchdown and it happened.
211:08He Brock Bowersen pass interference JT one-yard touchdown next play.
211:14>> How did I not get tagged in that? uh was waiting for it and nothing new.
211:20>> I had actually blacked out that we mentioned that until just now. So I'm also responsible. You're the only person who was created that discussion or
211:28listened to it that remembered it.
211:32>> It was it actually happened and it was Ignosen. It wasn't anyone else. It was >> funny. That's so funny.
211:38>> Oh my god.
211:40>> True King got him the touchdown.
211:42>> How did we should have made money on that somehow.
211:47There was no poly market or prediction market for the Igmanosen the holding penalty to lead to the next play JT touchdown. But we tal it happened. It
211:55happened in the game.
211:57>> That's so wild, dude.
211:59>> That's going to be our best call of the year.
212:02>> Better than any wagon we picked >> anyway.
212:05That's actionable at all.
212:11>> But it happened.
212:13>> It's so good, man.
212:14>> No, you're right though. receiver. I mean, all this receiving stuff's been great. He's got 30 receiving yards in every game, but one has at least three
212:21catches in every game. Very active as a pass catcher. You would love some more efficiency as a runner, but the at least
212:27the volume should bounce back. He's been really, they've just taken him out of the game in the second half the past
212:31couple weeks. That's really what it is.
212:33Uh the first half, the past weeks, 19 of 27 backfield touches. So, still at 70%, which is a little bit down from where we
212:40started the beginning of the year, but only eight of 21 the past couple weeks.
212:44one was the the the Patriots game, they removed him, but he also lost touches in the Chiefs game in the second half as
212:50well too um in the second half. So, you remove Mike Washington if he has ended up playing or if he's just hurt and like
212:55they can't trust him, right? Like >> that just gives him more opportunity for volume >> because that was his superpower literally was he was getting a lot of
213:03volume, >> right?
213:06>> Yeah. And and it's not, you know, Genty has run very poorly this year, but he also has 1.89 eight nine yards per route
213:13run. So he's not purely volume as >> well uh as a runner. I meant >> as a runner he's been purely volume.
213:20>> Yeah. Sorry.
213:21>> Yeah. But but as a receiver >> no >> you know he he has he has flashed some playmaking. So >> um yeah he he might be RJ Harvey with
213:30with a you know a good carry share.
213:33>> The big RJ Harvey.
213:34>> He's big RJ Harvey.
213:38>> Yeah.
213:39>> He might honestly be big RJ Harvey.
213:41That's kind of what it's looking like.
213:42>> [ __ ] man.
213:44>> But big R.J. Harvey gets carries, dude.
213:46We can we can work with big RJ Harvey.
213:48>> That's true. That is true.
213:49>> You know, >> I think I might want to remember that he's big RJ Harvey heading into the 2027 season because Big RJ Harvey might might
213:57lose carries.
213:59>> Yeah, >> but big R.J. Harvey can work for this year, especially if Mike Washington's out. Um, all right, man. Uh, we made it exactly
214:10to to three o'clock. I've got I've got my heart out. So, we're gonna wrap up here.
