CeeDee Lamb is used as a reference point for high-stakes FFPC draft capital, with the source questioning the logic of drafting Javonte Williams ahead of him.

Javonte Williams

PositiveBreakout0:00

The source is optimistic about a sophomore breakout for Javonte Williams, citing his status as an all-time running back prospect and historical comparisons to Le'Veon Bell's year-two leap. While the source was previously uneasy drafting him in the first round over elite WRs like CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson, the recent price decline makes him a target in the late second round for redraft and best ball. The current ankle injury creates a scary floor, but the upside remains real once he reaches 100% health.

0:00And the reason that I do have a lot of
0:01optimism for Jeudy
0:03uh and and believe that his ceiling
0:06um you know scenario is quite plausible
0:09is that we see running backs make those
0:11types of leaps in year two like those
0:14like Le'Veon Bell you know for example
0:16like when he's you're like oh damn okay
0:18like you I
0:20like still remember watching Le'Veon
0:22Bell that first game in his sophomore
0:24season and just being like this is a
0:27straight-up different running back than
0:29the one I watched last year. That's the
0:31kind of leap that sophomore running
0:32backs can take and I don't want to just
0:35be willy-nilly betting on that but Jeudy
0:37was one of the all-time running back
0:38prospects of you know the last couple
0:40decades. Like he he's a truly special
0:42running back prospect. I think he can
0:44make that leap. There's no guarantee
0:45that he does and honestly coming away
0:47from writing it up when I cuz I finished
0:50it when he before he got hurt I it did
0:52leave me feeling a little uneasy about
0:54him in the in the
0:56first round especially in the FFPC where
0:58it was like you have to take him over CD
0:59and the CD Lamb and Justin Jefferson. It
1:01did leave me feeling a bit queasy about
1:03that and I was kind of like
1:04I don't know like he's a player that I
1:06have been targeting in best ball but you
1:08get him later at the one-two turn you
1:09don't have to take him ahead of the
1:10receivers.
1:11I'm not I'm not as keen on taking him in
1:14in the FFPC which we hadn't done yet. So
1:16I don't know if I'm going to be
1:17targeting him where you have to get him
1:20in the main event and now of course with
1:22the price decline if I can get Jeudy in
1:23the in the late second round
1:25I'm doing that. I think I think you know
1:28again the ankle injury is we need a
1:30little more information to know for sure
1:32if that's a good move but I
1:34based on what we know now I'm
1:35comfortable taking him in the late
1:36second round. I think that's in redraft
1:39and and definitely in best ball but you
1:40know in redraft I think the opportunity
1:42cost has fallen far enough where I'm I'm
1:43pretty into it actually.
1:45Uh I think the the the floor on him is
1:49actually pretty scary
1:51but I I think his upside case is real
1:53and he could you know know, soon as he's
1:56back to 100% which which hopefully will
1:57be some point in December some point in
1:59September
2:00excuse me, he he has access to a ton of
2:03upside as a real focal point.
