A.J. Brown

NegativeBust24:48

Despite being preferred over Nico Collins in some head-to-head draft considerations, AJ Brown carries downside risk due to age and a performance decline observed last year, leading the speaker to prefer Chris Olave in current rankings.

Insight page

Alec Pierce

PositiveInjury32:33

Alec Pierce's return timeline is increasingly uncertain; while the team initially hoped for a Week 1 return, progress is now being hidden from reporters. Big Fantasy Impact. So is skeptical of his potential to emerge as a true number-one receiver or intermediate target earner, viewing him primarily as a deep-threat option.

Insight page

Ashton Dulin

NegativeDepth Chart36:43

Ashton Dulin is viewed as a sacrificial X-receiver option within the team's wide receiver depth chart, serving as a placeholder until the full rotation is healthy.

Insight page

Bub Means

NegativeInjury26:34

Bub Means is expected to miss 6-8 games due to injury, making him a difficult player to rank and draft.

Insight page

CeeDee Lamb

PositiveValue46:42

CeeDee Lamb is a preferred early-round draft target for Big Fantasy Impact. So, who is actively selecting him when on the clock.

Insight page

Chase Brown

PositiveValue47:49

Chase Brown is preferred over Devon Achane as a draft selection when both are available at the top of the queue.

Insight page

Chris Olave

PositiveProjection29:06

Chris Olave is established as the primary target and first-read player in the Saints' passing hierarchy. Following teammate injuries, his fantasy value has moved up, with the speaker ranking him ahead of AJ Brown and Drake London, and second only to Nico Collins in that specific tier.

Insight page

Cooper Kupp

NegativeUsage7:08

Cooper Kupp is cited as an example of a wide receiver who maintained a high route rate despite being utilized in blocking situations, illustrating the importance of trust in blocking for receivers in run-heavy offenses.

Insight page

Dalton Schultz

PositiveRole5:35

Dalton Schultz is a primary beneficiary of the Jaden Higgins injury, as the Texans are expected to run many two-WR sets that will keep him on the field as a top-two passing option in many games. The injury situation should solidify his role in the offense.

Insight page

David Njoku

NegativeRole25:16

The team's current tight end usage is compared to the David Njoku and Harrison Bryant situation from last year, noting it is a weird combination that lacks traditional design logic.

Insight page

De'Von Achane

NegativeUsage33:59

Devon Achane is expected to have front-loaded fantasy production, making him a candidate to pair with late-season upside stashes. Big Fantasy Impact. So considers him a high-priority target but currently ranks him slightly behind Chase Brown.

Insight page

Deebo Samuel

NegativeValue28:20

The speaker prefers drafting Bub Means over Deebo Samuel.

Insight page

Dontayvion Wicks

NegativeValue44:44

Dontayvion Wicks is mentioned as a wide receiver depth option alongside other late-round targets.

Insight page

Drake London

NegativeBust23:58

While previously preferred over Nico Collins in draft rankings, Drake London has been moved down due to dire reports regarding Atlanta's quarterback play, which the speaker uses as a tiebreaker to flip his rankings.

Insight page

Jalen Coker

NegativeValue28:20

The speaker prefers drafting Bub Means over Jalen Coker.

Insight page

Jaxon Smith-Njigba

NegativeProjection11:59

Jaxon Smith-Njigba is cited as a statistical benchmark for high-end target share outcomes, specifically referencing his potential for a 38% targets-per-route-run scenario as a crazy high outlier.

Insight page

Jayden Higgins

NegativeInjury0:52

Jaden Higgins suffered a season-ending injury, which is a significant blow to the Texans' offense; he was expected to serve as the team's WR2 and see increased usage in the slot. The speaker notes they did not believe there was a realistic chance for Higgins to become the WR1 in Houston, though they acknowledge it could have been a 1A/1B situation.

Insight page

John Metchie

NegativeBust7:46

The source expresses skepticism regarding John Metchie III, noting his inefficient rookie season (17% targets per route run, 1.3 yards per route run) and the coaching staff's apparent lack of trust, as evidenced by him being iced by Xavier Hutchinson during playoff games when Nico Collins was sidelined.

Insight page

Jonathan Taylor

PositiveValue47:16

Jonathan Taylor is a player Big Fantasy Impact. So is legit overweight on relative to the market. Concerns regarding the Colts' quarterback situation have subsided, leading Big Fantasy Impact. So to try and catch up to market exposure levels.

Insight page

Jordyn Tyson

NegativeValue29:18

Jordan Tyson is viewed as a roster-specific player requiring careful pairing with front-loaded producers. While he may be a waiver wire target in weeks 3-4, the speaker is lowering his draft priority to avoid him being a drag on advance rates, noting that initial expectations for his target-earning capacity were too high.

Insight page

Josh Downs

NegativeRole36:44

The signing of Keenan Allen negatively impacts Josh Downs' fantasy outlook, necessitating a slight drop in rankings; while his slot rate will likely decline, the team is actively experimenting with ways to utilize him on the outside in two-wide-receiver sets to avoid tipping plays during the run game. Big Fantasy Impact. So remains bullish on Downs and views any market-driven discount on his draft price as a buying opportunity, especially early in the season while Alec Pierce is sidelined.

Insight page

Juwan Johnson

PositiveValue25:10

Juwan Johnson is viewed as the biggest beneficiary of the Saints' passing game and a great value, projected to be the second most targeted player after Chris Olave. He is expected to see the highest route rate of his career while teammates are out, potentially mirroring Kyle Pitts' high-usage role.

Insight page

Keaton Mitchell

PositiveValue36:47

Keaton Mitchell was drafted in the 10th round of a main event draft as a late-season upside play, despite not being a clear-cut starter for the beginning of the season.

Insight page

Keenan Allen

PositiveProjection30:03

Keenan Allen is expected to function as a three-wide-receiver set exclusive player, mirroring his usage from the past two seasons where he hovered around 70% of routes and maintained a 21-25% target per route run rate. He is viewed as a 'chaperone' type of player with utility for roster depth, ranked in the 150-160 ADP range, though his ADP should ideally be closer to 130-140. His ceiling case involves approximating Michael Pittman Jr.'s role from last year, as both players shared an identical 8.4 aDOT.

Insight page

Khalil Shakir

NegativeValue28:20

The speaker prefers drafting Bub Means over Khalil Shakir, Jalen Coker, and Deebo Samuel.

Insight page

Luther Burden

NegativeBreakout9:17

Luther Burden is used as a comparative benchmark for rookies who struggle to earn playing time early in their careers; the source notes that a player's trajectory can change once they finally get on the field, contrasting this with players like John Metchie III whose usage trended downward.

Insight page

Malik Nabers

PositiveValue25:00

Malik Nabers is currently preferred over Nico Collins in draft rankings, with the speaker noting that sentiment and vibes surrounding him can shift rapidly during training camp.

Insight page

Michael Penix Jr.

PositiveBreakout30:49

Big Fantasy Impact. So holds significant shares of Michael Penix Jr., citing his solid EPA metrics from last year and questioning why he wouldn't be considered a viable starter over Tua Tagovailoa, who the speaker believes is 'done' and unlikely to start all 17 games.

Insight page

Michael Pittman

NegativeUsage44:04

Michael Pittman Jr. serves as the statistical benchmark for Keenan Allen's role; both players recorded an identical 8.4 aDOT last season. Before his injury last year, Pittman averaged 14.3 PPR points per game, providing a baseline for the production Allen could potentially replicate.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveValue28:23

The speaker prefers drafting Michael Wilson over Bub Means.

Insight page

Najee Harris

NegativeDepth Chart48:56

The signing of Najee Harris is viewed as significant, suggesting the Giants' interest in adding running back depth was a long-term organizational priority rather than a reactionary move to Tyrone Tracy Jr.'s performance.

Insight page

Nico Collins

NegativeProjection6:25

The injury to Jaden Higgins is not a major needle-mover for Nico Collins; while Higgins' absence removes a potential challenger for target dominance, it also potentially hurts the overall offensive efficiency of the team. Collins is clearly the WR1, but his fantasy outlook is mixed; while the lack of competition could lead to a higher target share, the overall offensive efficiency may suffer, making this more of a floor-raising situation than a ceiling-raising one. He is currently ranked as a top-tier receiver, ahead of Chris Olave, AJ Brown, and Drake London, and his draft stock is rising.

Insight page

Oscar Delp

NegativeDepth Chart28:12

Oscar Delp is viewed as a depth tight end who is unlikely to challenge for significant snaps, as he is a rookie and not considered a high-level talent by the analysts.

Insight page

Rashee Rice

NegativeValue25:02

The speaker prefers Nico Collins over Rashee Rice in current draft rankings.

Insight page

Rashid Shaheed

NegativeValue42:22

Rashid Shaheed is used as a draft threshold marker; once he is off the board, Big Fantasy Impact. So considers Keenan Allen a viable target for managers needing wide receiver depth.

Insight page

Rome Odunze

PositiveValue28:23

The speaker prefers drafting Rome Odunze (referred to as Golden Digs) over Bub Means.

Insight page

Tank Dell

PositiveInjury4:10

Despite concerns regarding his practice participation and beat reporter speculation, Tank Dell remains a target in best-ball formats; DeMeco Ryans has been bullish on his recovery, calling him a potential comeback player of the year. While he may miss time, he is expected to be a significant contributor for a large portion of the season and has the potential to emerge as the Texans' number two target. He may be shifted into a part-time slot role to reduce blocking responsibilities, which could limit his long-speed impact on the outside.

Insight page

Tyler Warren

PositiveInjury32:08

Tyler Warren appears to have avoided a serious injury following a groin strain, which is a positive development for his availability.

Insight page

Tyrone Tracy

NegativeUsage49:05

Tyrone Tracy Jr. is mentioned in the context of the Giants' running back room, specifically regarding a missed block that some speculate triggered the team's interest in other running backs.

Insight page

Xavier Hutchinson

NegativeRole3:21

Xavier Hutchinson is the projected favorite to replace Jaden Higgins in two-WR sets based on his 90%+ route participation during the Texans' playoff stretch last year when Nico Collins was sidelined. He is considered a more logical fit than other depth options to play outside in two-wide receiver sets and has surpassed John Metchie III on the depth chart, though he remains the least fantasy-relevant of the Texans' receivers.

Insight page

Xavier Worthy

NegativeValue38:27

The speaker had to reach to draft Xavier Worthy in a recent main event draft after other preferred targets were already off the board.

0:01Welcome to the Legendary Upside podcast and YouTube channel. My name is Patra.
0:04You can follow my content at legendaryupside.com.
0:07With me today, Sam Sherman for our That's fair pod. Sam, how's it going?
0:13>> I'm good, Pat. I think unfortunately uh it was a bit of an active news cycle this past week with with injuries to
0:22talk through some major ones actually with with Big Fantasy Impact. So, looking forward to talking through that.
0:28And of course also it's another um you know mustsea television event tonight.
0:33Deshawn dribbling in the preseason. So looking forward to that as well.
0:36>> Truly must see. Um yeah. Yeah. There's been I was literally thinking like two days ago or whatever, you know, like
0:45man, we've we haven't had a ton of the we we've gotten a lot of like kind of more minor injuries, but not a ton of
0:52season ending ones so far. And then Higgins went down like 18 hours after I had that thought. Um, which is a pretty
1:00big bummer to lose him for the year.
1:02Secondyear player. Um, >> so, you know, that could have been a really fun he could have been a very fun element to the Texans offense. Uh, they
1:11were kind of using him in some interesting ways potentially going to have him more in the slot this year. So, uh, what what are your thoughts on how
1:17that ultimately impacts uh, the Texans and, you know, how you're approaching drafts?
1:24Yeah, I I think it's an interesting one to talk through because I think Jaden Higgins, my expectation for him, you know, obviously before the injury was
1:32that he was pretty locked in as the wide receiver too in uh in Houston. I think it was a team that was going to run a
1:40lot of two wide receiver sets with with Schultz and other tight ends they have there. So, I think he was slated for a
1:47pretty big role. I think now with with him out the what you have to think through for the other players is, you
1:54know, who is going to replace him in two wide receiver sets. And if you look at what the Texans did last year, um Xavier
2:01Hutchinson was actually the guy they used most heavily in that situation to end the season last year. There was a three-game playoff stretch. Actually,
2:10this is it's kind of a comparable situation because Higgins was actually playing, but um Nico Collins missed a couple of those playoff games. In those
2:18games, Hutchinson ran over 90% of the routes in weeks uh was weeks 18 and 20, which is, you know, you know, um Oh, sorry. I
2:33guess week 18 was last week of the regular season. Then week 20 would be second week of the playoffs. So, Hutchinson ran over 90% of the routes in
2:39those games. And Jaylen Nowell, who's kind of the other guy on the roster, was down at like 10 15% of the routes. So,
2:45he was kind of a non a non-factor in that situation last year when they're missing one of those top two guys. And
2:50now this year, obviously, you have Tank Dell uh back in the mix, but he's not even fully practicing now. It's it's a
2:58little bit of a mixed story on him because there's, you know, clips of him running routes on air where he he looks
3:04okay. Um but he hasn't been fully attending practices. Some of the beat reporter speculation on him has been a little bit more on the negative side
3:12recently. So, I think like here we can talk about like how we rank these guys and range of outcomes and such like
3:18purely from just like a hey, if I'm betting on who is running the most routes at wide receiver 2 this year, I
3:24think it actually is Xavier Hutchinson.
3:27Uh, at the same time though, he's he's the least interesting of these three guys in fantasy. So, it it's kind of a
3:33tricky situation.
3:35>> Yeah. I mean, I think probably like the most the biggest winner from this in the sense of like guys that we can
3:44definitely count on might be Dalton Schultz. Um, Nico Collins I think would maybe be the most obvious guy, but like I my read on Collins is like he was
3:55there there were scenarios where Higgins kind of challenged his dominance over the offense this year and those are off the table now which is good for Collins
4:04but you know Higgins could have been a really interesting secondary player that helped the offense. We want this offense to bounce back. So that kind of hurts
4:12Collins. And I think ultimately Collins was going to get his regardless and is still going to get his. So I'm not
4:18seeing this as like a huge needle mover for Collins. I think it probably just makes Schultz a little more locked in
4:26where he is, you know, I don't know if he'll be the number two like all season, but there's going to be plenty of games where he'll
4:32be the number two option in the passing game now. And I I think that's pretty good for him. Uh Dell is is murkier, but
4:39I'm I'm pretty optimistic on Dell from the perspective of baseball where I'm getting guys on my roster who are going to score points at at points, right?
4:48Score points at points. I don't need you to score points. I don't need all my guys to be scoring in the beginning of
4:53the season. I need some of them to, but I don't need all of them to. And I think Dell, I mean, the stuff from Demo Ryan
5:01has actually been pretty bullish on Dell. There was a clip going around of him saying, you know, he's gonna be the
5:07comeback player of the year, like really excited about the way he's looked uh running routes. There was a coach speak uh uh index quote where he was like that
5:17he looks really nice out there, really crisp. You know, the route running, the the ability to cut looks great. I was
5:22talking with Gretch last night in our main event draft. He's like, "Yeah, but like is he when can he get hit? That's
5:27probably pretty important for him to play football." Yeah. And they do seem to be kind of ramping ramping him back up. and and not kind of like treating
5:36week one as like a do or die kind of week. I I think he could easily miss uh you know he could go on pup to start the
5:44year even but I think we're getting some Dell this year um and probably for you know not like a few games but for like a
5:51big big chunk of the season even if he misses like four games or something I think he'd come back and and play the
5:57rest of the way. Obviously, he's an undersized player coming off a knee injury, so it's a little murky even when he does hit the field. But I've been
6:03pretty encouraged with his return. And then one thing with Dell is that, you know, he played 70% of his snaps out
6:10wide in 2023 in that that breakout rookie season and 72% of his snaps out wide in 2024. So, he's not really a slot
6:17receiver. He does make sense, if healthy, to be that second outside wide receiver, actually. And so I think he could be a really big winner as you know
6:28the guy who emerges as the number two target at some point. Uh maybe not at the beginning of the year because he
6:36might not be out on the field even.
6:38Yeah. Yeah. I think with Dell it's interesting. He's kind of like Josh DS in some ways and that like he can play
6:46on the outside. He's not one of these like super limited slot wide receivers that can only play in the slot. Um you
6:52know he he can beat man coverage. She can do all of that. It just if you're thinking about what the Texans identity
6:58is on offense this year, I think they want to be very runbased. They're going to want to have wide receivers in in two
7:04wide receiver sets that can get in and do the dirty work, do the blocking.
7:08That's why guys like Cooper Cup last year, right, had have such high route rates because they're trusted in those type of blocking situations, even if
7:16they are kind of not good outside wide receivers. So, >> you know, Tank Dell got hurt blocking in his rookie season. like they trust him
7:23too much as a blocker. [laughter] They actually do.
7:26>> I know, but I think >> I think that's going to be in their mind. I think >> probably will be. Yeah.
7:31>> Yeah. So, that doesn't mean he can't have a baseball um friendly role. I I I think I um am a little bit more scared
7:40of the downside case uh on Dell than you, but I think um I totally see where you're coming from. I think Noel is
7:47maybe the one who we we haven't touched on. Um, in my mind, like I was going through his numbers a little bit. I
7:52don't know how you feel about uh Jaylen Null, but I feel like his his PR team is doing overtime with like how his rookie
7:59year is talked about in some circles.
8:01Like I I look back at it and it was like 17% targets per route run, 1.3 yards per route run. He barely had any role even
8:10in again as I mentioned last year when Nico Collins was missing time in playoff games down the stretch got completely iced by by Xavier Hutchinson. So, like I
8:19I don't know. I I I saw like ETR, for example, jacked him way up the rankings.
8:24Like I think he's fine as an an 18th round guy, but I am pretty skeptical of him. I get he does have like more
8:33theoretical upside than Hutchinson, but we saw this exact situation last year and they they didn't seem to trust him at all. But I I don't know. I haven't
8:40been following the Beats too closely on on him this preseason. I don't know if you have any um more thoughts on on N.
8:47Yeah, I'm I'm not as interested in null.
8:50Uh kind of going to what you're saying where like he had this third round pick has a inefficient not horribly inefficient but an inefficient rookie
9:00season even when he was on the field like 1.40 yards per out run per PFF. I mean that's >> not horrible but it's not great either.
9:08It's fine.
9:09>> Yeah.
9:10>> Yeah.
9:10>> But it's like close to not fine, you know. And then you have the additional context of he was struggling to get out
9:17there. Like I would like a guy like >> Luther Burden, right? Like >> can't get on the field, but then he gets
9:23on the field, you're like, "Oh, like that's what I would that's what I like for my guys who struggle to play a ton
9:28as a rookie." You know, >> they were ramping him down versus ramping him up if anything [laughter] rookie year, which is not not great.
9:36>> It's not. And I don't think he is the type of player who, you know, he is also on the smaller side, although he he's
9:44actually like significantly bigger than Dell, but he's on the smaller side and and more of a slot receiver. He played 66% of his snaps in the slot last year.
9:53Um, and so I kind of think like it was looking like Higgins was going to play more in the slot. that creates
10:02opportunities for Hutchinson or Dell outside in three wide receiver sets.
10:08Like it didn't seem like null was a big part of the plan before Higgins went down. And I there was kind of a period
10:14where I was taking like basically if I if I started to feel really queasy about Dell, I'll take more Null. But I've
10:21always felt queasy about Null as well because >> yeah, >> he doesn't he's never seemed actually to be a big part of their plans. And I
10:29think Hutchinson's like a way more, you know, obvious fit to play outside in two wide receiver sets than null, even if
10:38Dell isn't anything. I mean, he was outside Hutchinson 78% of his snaps last year. I mean, he he's not good. He had
10:461.05 yards per outr run, and that was a career high. But but you know, as far as getting blocked, >> I think Null could get could get blocked
10:55by Hutchinson, you know, as far as like being the the outside guy. And then like he probably is the clearest slot
11:05receiver, but like maybe uh maybe they want Dell in more of a part-time role, less of a blocking responsibility. He loses some of the
11:14long speed, so he's not so great outside anymore, but he's kind of shifty. They like him in the slot. Like I think the
11:19floor is pretty low for Null even with this injury. Um he's definitely obviously like a better pick, but not someone I'm I'm really like excited
11:28about even >> even with this opportunity opening up.
11:32>> Yeah, I think it comes back to like your point at the beginning like I think this is best for Schultz. It definitely makes
11:39Null and Dell more interesting in the later rounds, but I I wouldn't jack either of them up too much. And then um
11:45Nico, yeah, I guess just to hit on the Nico point, like I think it does like if you're you're squinting for the top two
11:54percentile outcomes for some of these guys, maybe this is more of like a reddraft than a best ball take, like if
11:59you want the JSN 38% targets per route run scenarios, like those crazy high outlier scenarios. I do think that opens that up a little bit for Nico, right?
12:09Like think think about who like in the base offense here in in 12 personnel it could be Nico Collins, Xavier Hutchinson
12:16running wind sprints and then Daltton Schultz and and Marlin Klein, right?
12:21>> It sort of gets to a point where like is that I unless you have because I don't trust Kaye, right? Like the way I trust
12:29Kubak. So I'm not sure I want that.
12:31>> That could be Yeah. Yeah. No, that's what I'm saying. It's like that that could be bad for the offense as a whole.
12:36But I'm saying like those mega target share scenarios like if if things click like you can imagine and dream on those
12:44crazy target share scenarios now. But I I'm with you at the same time that like there is also a benefit in just having a
12:50more functional offense, right? Um, but I mean to the point last year with the Seahawks, if you told me a wide like an
12:56offense based around um Cooper Cup playing 90% of the snaps alongside JSN and AJ Barner and Elijah Royo playing at if you told me that was going to lead to
13:06like this mega efficient JSN season, I would have thought you were crazy as well.
13:11>> I would note they had Tory Horton who's real fast and then Rasheed Jahed who's real fast even though they didn't throw
13:17to those guys much.
13:18>> Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Like I think having someone on the field that can field stretch outside of the number one guy.
13:24Collins is in a tough spot in some ways where he is now very clearly the number one guy and the number one field
13:30stretcher unless Tank is like like all the way back. Um but yeah it I I in some ways I think this helps his floor more
13:38than his ceiling really. It's like those those seasons where Higgins was like challenging him are gone, you know, and who's going to really Dell's not Dell
13:47isn't going to challenge him, you know, in the same way that a breakout from Higgins might have, you know, like those
13:54that like the kind of thing where like when Jordan Addison was like really cooking and you're like, "Wow, Justin Jefferson's target share is like not as
14:02high as I thought it would be." You know, like like that kind of stuff. I mean, it's still Justin Jefferson and
14:06it's still Nico Collins, but just Yeah, that I think that it helps the floor a little bit more than anything else. Um
14:15>> Okay.
14:15>> But not a ton because the offense could be kind of bad now.
14:20>> So, yeah.
14:20>> Yeah.
14:22Yeah.
14:23>> Yeah. It's I Yeah, I I I see that. I guess to to maybe like zero in on it, let's I think this like um you know this
14:32wide receiver range of the two three turn is interesting. Now let's let's say let's go back to the basketball world.
14:38Half PPR basketball and underdog. Um Nico Collins verse Drake London. Who would you take?
14:46>> I'm taking Drake London.
14:48>> Okay. What about Nico verse AJ Brown?
14:52>> I've been taking AJ Brown and I still am. Okay. And then Nico, I guess we'll get to this the Saints topic later, but
15:00Nico verse Olive.
15:02>> Nico to me I would I'm taking Neighbors over him now and I'm then I'm but I'm taking him over Rice and taking him over
15:09Pickkins.
15:10>> Um >> Okay.
15:12>> Yeah, that that's kind of where I'm at on Nico.
15:16>> Got it.
15:16>> Yeah, it makes sense. I think those guys are all all tightly bunched. I think I actually I have Nico at the top of that
15:23tier now, but I I wouldn't fight anyone over how you order those those. I think it's Nico, Drake, London, AJ Brown,
15:30Chris Ols.
15:33That's like a tier of of five for me.
15:36And then like maybe George Pickkins and a tier of his own like right after that.
15:40Um I don't have like super strong opinions about how you order those those five guys though. I think it's it's quite close. Um cool. Should we go to
15:51the the Saints situation?
15:54>> Let's go to the Saints, which this one is another like, fortunately, I think we'll see Tyson. Um, but this obviously
16:00is a is a pretty big bummer that we're going to be missing missing Tyson from a huge chunk of the season. To the extent
16:08that he was able to play in the summer, he looked pretty good.
16:11>> Yeah, huge bummer. Um, may maybe we can start with like I think there's a the question around the peripheral guys, but maybe we
16:19can start with the actual question on on Tyson himself first. I think my base expectation is he misses somewhere in
16:28the six to eight games range. Um, obviously I think there's there's some error bars there and that could change >> for sure.
16:36>> Uh, it's so it's such a tricky one to rank. I don't I I don't have a good sense of this Pat. I think I I need your
16:44help. I think like my my gut reaction is slotting him in around the 120 110 pick range. Um I think there's other rookies
16:55there like upside rookies there that are interesting. Casey Conpion, Deshawn Stribbling. Um, I think I would still definitely take him over the like
17:03Shakir, Coker, Debo guys, but I think I would take like the Golden Digs, certainly Mai Lemon, Michael Wilson guys
17:14over him now. I don't know. It's a very It's a unique situation. It's a tricky one to to handle. What do What do you
17:21think?
17:22>> Yeah, I was I was talking to Sack today.
17:24He had him pop up as as top guy in the sidekick in like the 140s, I think. Uh believe he said. Yeah, I think it was.
17:34>> So, he's falling that far in drafts.
17:36>> He he is I think it was actually the 150s.
17:39>> Um >> yeah, he is he is falling really far.
17:43>> I uh simultaneously timed out on him in the the early 7th and the and the 801 uh in two BBMs the other night. and uh was
17:54pretty upset about that and then proceeded to draft like the grossest wide receiver rooms to like somehow get him through. Uh [laughter]
18:03I drafted like I had I was like minting extra copies of Keenan Allen and like taking them sequentially.
18:10>> Yeah, it's like Yeah, you can take Kean Allen three times. I didn't know draft games lets you do that. [laughter]
18:16>> Yeah, they they did they do if you time out on Tyson. That's the rule. Um, but yeah, you can take fat Keenan and normal
18:24Keenan Allen >> and normal Keenan. [laughter] >> So that that definitely like I can tell you that that's too early given the way that
18:33felt. Um, and I I had him originally kind of like around pick 100 and then um I've been kind of lowering him as we've
18:42gotten kind of info on on where the Sims view him as an actual value. I think somewhere in like the one
18:50I think if you're feeling frisky, somewhere in like the 130s could be okay. Um, but I I it even that might be
18:59like a little early.
19:01>> Uh, it's it's sort of it sort of depends on how much of that risk you're willing to take on. I I think he's,
19:10>> you know, I think the upside case here is that they're doing the right thing for him to be able to play very
19:16effectively this season. He's going to miss time. They're going to lock in that miss time. They're going to get this recovery right. He's going to come back
19:23and hit the ground running and be healthy. But even then, you're going to be missing a lot of games. So, you you
19:30want to have him be a type of player at a type of price where you just don't need >> you don't need the production to be
19:38hitting your lineup as an advance rate piece. Like, when does he stop being a really big problem as an advance rate
19:44piece? And it it is probably in that like 12th round range, you know, where he 11th, 12th round range where like that's
19:55when we start to take guys who are like, yeah, he's not going to really help me advance, but if he comes on at the end
20:00of the season, he could be an absolute hammer. He could win me the tournament.
20:05Um, but I mean, yeah, like as crazy as it is, I like I think I'd rather I think I'd rather have dribbling
20:12now. Would you >> would you rather have Tyson or dribbling? I'd rather have scribbling.
20:18>> Yeah.
20:19>> Yeah.
20:20>> Yeah. So, the more I've looked into it, the more I've lowered him just just as like, man, at a >> at this, you know, he's got to be past
20:26the range where where he just stops being a drag on on my advance rate.
20:32>> Yeah. And he's probably one of those guys where you have to be most thoughtful about who you pair him with.
20:39Like I would guess if you could preload your roster with say Devon is actually a good example of a guy we know his
20:48production is going to be front-loaded, right? Actually pairing him with uh Tyson to cover that is kind of interesting. Maybe you can come up with
20:55some other guys like that. Keenan Allen maybe is a guy that that fits that bill.
21:00Um maybe Dantavian Wix before Lemon takes over in Philadelphia fits that bill of frontloader production. So think through that. I think
21:09>> Yeah. carefully. AD Mitchell when you're It's funny thinking of AD Mitchell as like this safe early season.
21:15>> I know >> about that [laughter] because like he can drop the ball while he's running into that end zone and get cut in
21:21week four. But yeah, he's very very safe early season.
21:26>> Uh but yeah. Yeah, I think people get the point. It's like uh it's a very roster specific guy. And then I think in
21:33reddraft like if I mean this is like more for you know your your managed home leagues like make sure you tack them on
21:40for $1 in the auction and stash them in your IR spot. Like there there's smart things you can you can do in those like
21:45type of leagues to get them on your roster at at no cost in those IR spots.
21:50So um but yeah obviously that's trickier to do.
21:53>> Yeah, we had a main event draft last night with with Sean Seagull and Ben Gretch and I was floating him. We were
21:59on the 12, you know, out of the out of the 12 spot. And so I was floating him at the 1001. Um, and we ultimately took
22:07Katon Mitchell there and, you know, that's not a guy I've been targeting a ton, but but Sean and and Ben love him,
22:14so it was fun to get get a share. But I I was kind of like, you know, you're you're already in a range where you're
22:19like like Keith Mitchell's not going to be I mean, we we actually put him in our starting lineup for week one, but by and
22:27large, you know, you're not like counting on him as this like clear-cut starter to begin the season. It's more of like a later season upside play. And
22:37so, >> yeah, >> I think it's actually a little bit earlier in reddraft that I start to like my mind starts to go to Tyson because
22:43I'm thinking a lot of these guys are going to be sitting on my bench for a while and who who do I feel strongly that can be like
22:51a hammer and like Deshawn Stribbling was off at the 901 in this draft. Mai Lemon was off, you know, at the 905. So, those
22:59types Matthew Golden's already gone. So, those types of like bigger swings were already off the board. uh we had to reach for Xavier Worthy for example. So
23:08I think that is at least worth considering. Sean was making a point though that he could get cut, you know, in even in the main event. So in your
23:18>> Yeah.
23:18>> in your reraft league, like how many bench spots do you have? Because if you don't have a ton of bench spots, like
23:22you'll probably get him off waiverss in your home league.
23:25>> Um and even in high stakes, he might be like 20 round 20 round drafts. like he he he might still end up on waivers in
23:33some leagues, but he's a guy I think like week three, week four, >> Jordan Tyson pops up on waiverss, I'm bidding like 200 bucks I think uh even
23:40if >> um you know I don't end up drafting a ton of them in in high stakes.
23:46>> Yep, that makes sense. I guess moving on to other guys, it's like kind of similar to the Texans in a lot of ways where I
23:53think the tight end is the biggest winner. I think Jawan Johnson uh is the biggest beneficiary of this. Was very steady.
24:00>> I do too.
24:01>> Last last season again. And man, he's going to be I think the clear um number two read or or second most player that
24:11is designed first read plays for said another way after Chris Ave.
24:16>> Um so yeah, I think he's a great value.
24:20I mean, I I tweeted this out right before the show, like I I didn't really appreciate how thin the Saints pass
24:26catcher core is, you know? It's I mean, the wide Could you Who is the wide receiver three? Like, it's Bryce Lance.
24:35>> Yeah, maybe. But he yeah it's going to be someone that >> he was the he was like then cuz they
24:41didn't have Vle or L the other day and Bryce Lance was operating as like one of the one of the key wide I might have
24:48been Tipton and him or I'm not even sure who the other guy was but >> um but he's he's in the mix it sounds
24:54like. So >> yeah.
24:56>> Yeah, it is it is not deep.
24:59>> And then it's even tight it's not like they have like their tight ends. They have fans.
25:04>> They have fan, but he it's kind of interesting with him, right, where like he is not really an inline tight end.
25:10Like I think it in a pinch in a pin in a pinch you can have him and Jawan on the field at the same time, but it's
25:16>> it's it's kind of like the Injoku Fannon thing last year where I guess like they got away with it, but it's it's kind of
25:21a weird tight end combo that doesn't make a ton of sense if you're designing it from scratch. Um, so it's just, yeah,
25:29it's a it's a weird wide receiver tight end situation they're gonna have going on.
25:33>> Um, I don't think any any I think Veil is is draftable in the right type of build for sure.
25:39>> Um, >> yeah, >> he's I guess kind of interesting in these league tournaments because because he hasn't been drafted really much at
25:45all. Like his ownership will probably be fairly low. Um, so he's he's somewhat interesting, but >> he he is, but even from that standpoint,
25:52like I don't think you're going to show up in week 17 going or like on a week week you're you're not gonna be in week
25:5715 like I'm the only melee team in this pod. Like you guys are screwed. Like, you know what I mean? I mean,
26:03you could, I guess, if Tyson's out all year, >> but that's not that like >> it's not even that exciting. If you're
26:10if I'm the pod, I'm kind of mad. I'm like, why did I draft this guy again?
26:14>> Right. [laughter] I don't need him now.
26:16you're you're like literally furiously looking at your you're like I hope I finished second and by like six points I got in you know because Ble otherwise I
26:24wish I spent this on something else rather than Devon Ble. So yeah he he's he's fine like if you need some some I
26:32I've taken him especially on DraftKings with the 20 rounds I think he's like a solid enough >> pick and you know can help fill out
26:39receiver rooms but >> he's not especially exciting. I I do agree that Joan Johnson's the the big winner. Um, Jacob was talking about how,
26:47you know, one thing that could come out of this is that they just actually play Jawan Johnson more because they need
26:55additional weapons on the field that they wouldn't have necessarily with Ty.
27:00So, you know, like Tyson Olive and then you could go like Delp, right?
27:06and you know at a three wide receiver set and and and just take Jawan Johnson off and kind of like out of three wide
27:13receivers have more of like a run pass conflict for the defense. But I think at this point like without Tyson, you you
27:21kind of want other guys that the the defense has to worry about in passing game. So I I think this might actually
27:27help his playing time >> 100%. I would I would bet strongly that at least over the first eight weeks or however long Tyson is out, it's going to
27:35be the highest route rate of his career.
27:38I mean, he was at 78% last year, so that's already very solid. Not like amazing, but very very solid.
27:44>> And I could see it it could be like the the Pitts situation last year, right?
27:50Like everyone knows Pit's limitations, but when there is literally no other option, he's going to play a bunch because in three wide receiver sets, if
27:57there's not a good third wide receiver on the team, he's the effectively like the slot wide receiver. And then, you know, he also plays a decent amount of
28:05of tight end when the other options are are that bad. And I think that's going to be the case with Jawan. I mean, it's
28:11like Noah Fant's not a great blocker.
28:12Oscar Delp is a rookie. Like, I don't think those guys are coming for his snaps.
28:17>> I don't either. I'm not a Delp guy. I think Dulp is, you know, probably like a depth tight end. It would be like like
28:25the median outlook for his career, but I I'm, you know, in dynasty circles, I was kind of a people would ask about like,
28:32why don't you have Delpire, you know, because I don't think he's very good.
28:36Um, but >> yeah, the uh but I could be wrong. You know, he could end up being more of a kind of traditional uh inline guy that
28:45that earns uh a bigger role over time.
28:48um and maybe even by the end of this year, but I I think this hurts him because like we're saying, you know, you
28:55want to have the pass catcher out on the field now. Um and so that that helps Jawan. So, I mean, Jawan Johnson's been
29:02a pretty pretty interesting pick all along. I I think, you know, he comes up here. Olave, I would say, moves up a
29:07little bit. I think this probably helps Olave more than the Higgins injury helps Nico.
29:14>> Yes. Yes.
29:15>> Do you agree with that?
29:16>> Agreed. I agree. I I agree with that.
29:18Yeah, just because my expectation of Jordan Tyson as a target earner, honestly, both from like a base and ceiling um perspective was a lot higher.
29:28Like I I didn't really think there was a real chance Jaden Higgins becomes the wide receiver one in Houston. Sure, whatever. There's a chance of
29:36everything. It's possible, but I I really >> It's more like a 1A 1B thing. Yeah, that that would have been. Yeah.
29:41>> Yeah. Whereas with Tyson, I think he could have like if he flipped Olive, it would have been a surprise to me, but it
29:47wouldn't have been like crazy. So, >> it's fully in the range. Yeah.
29:51>> Yeah. Um, so I think a lot Yeah. Same. I mean, this is funny. I think these situations are like very similar. I I
29:59nudged uh in my, you know, theor theoretical rankings in my head that uh don't exist. I nudged Chris Olive up uh
30:08a little bit. Like I think I would take him over AJ Brown, Drake London. I think it would he would be second to to Nico
30:17Collins in that tier. Again, not because like that's some huge change for me.
30:20Like I I viewed all those guys as very tightly packed to to begin with. And I just think um yeah, we don't have have
30:28to get into those guys. But I think that there's some downside risk scenarios.
30:31Age for AJ Brown and decline declined last year and Drake. The reports out of uh camp in Atlanta for for Tua are just
30:40like so dire. Um again, not like tanking either of those guys in my rankings, but I think it's just enough of a tiebreaker
30:46to to flip them a little bit in my head.
30:49>> I've got some Michael Pennix uh 555 shares that are are pretty excited about this these two are. [clears throat] I I
30:55do think like it has been strange to me to take us down a completely different road, but it's been strange to me that
31:00like >> first round pick M early first round pick Michael Penn uh who like actually was like pretty solid in the EPA uh
31:08stuff like last year. I know, man.
31:11>> What was just like, "Yeah, he's done."
31:12Like to a guy we all think sucks. Uh we'll definitely just play ahead of him all year and they they won't even like
31:18look at their first round pick, you know? Like >> it's so [laughter] Yeah, it's so weird to me. I I have never I get that he's
31:26healthy and most likely to start week one because PennX is still hurt, but like >> Yeah, he is. For sure he is.
31:32>> For sure. I I get that part of it, but he's if Tua starts all 17 games this year, um
31:42I I would be I'd be st I think that's >> I think it's more it's way more likely Jacobe Brassette starts 17 games this
31:49year. Way more likely uh Kirk Cousins starts 17 games this year. Like I I think it's he's he's he's done. I think
31:58Tu is just just done. So >> yeah. Um, should we talk Keenan? Keenan Allen.
32:04>> Let's talk Keenan. Yeah. And then of course we have Tyler Warren uh looking like he avoided a a serious injury. So
32:10this is one of we've had several groin strains uh this summer that luckily have not been overly serious. Bruce Hall and
32:19now Tyler Warren. Um Rashad White maybe.
32:24Un unclear what what happened there. The ice bath might be a handy idea. Ice bucket challenge injury.
32:31>> They're claiming he injured himself in a practice, but we saw the video. We know we know what [laughter] happened.
32:37>> But >> yeah, couldn't they could they if they were being huge [ __ ] they could tag him on the the NFI list and like void
32:43his contract. But I I guess that's a bad that's a bad look for an ALS related >> injury. That's a very bad PR move. Plus,
32:51he's getting paid like less than, you know, I made last year. So, >> yeah.
32:56>> Yeah. [laughter] Yeah.
32:59>> So, I think uh I definitely am very very happy. You know, Warren comes out of this and uh looks like
33:07he'll be fine, but but Keenan Allen signing there is still a pretty big deal. And of of course, we have the Alec
33:13Pearson. I saw Robert May has been doing these reports where he goes around to the the training camps and comes away
33:18with with and you know I like watching these and I'm thinking you know it' be really funny if Robert was like this team sucks
33:28like they're they're terrible like I talked to the coaches like they got their heads in the clouds like they have no shot you know like and then he has to
33:34show up the next day to the next game and they're like >> you know so so [laughter] the the nature of the exercise has him I would say
33:44being like he's asking interesting questions >> optimist yeah >> and yeah but it's going to be on the more optimistic side where he's kind of
33:50like reporting what these what the coaches are like kind of hoping will happen and so he was reporting that they are still very optimistic clearly hope
34:00that Alec Pierce will be back early in the season ideally week one and that's where their heads are at >> it does look like
34:09that's less and less likely right Keenan Allen signing I think also impacts Pierce and it tells us something about where Pierce might be at to an extent.
34:20>> Yeah, I I I agree. I think also sometimes like they when these teams don't have to give us information, they just don't. So like I
34:30just like don't know. Apparently he's doing indoor workouts now and Shane Stiken is looking great, but like you know they're they're hiding him. They're
34:39they're not having him work out on the normal practice field uh where the reporters are. They're they're hiding his So whatever. Like we've seen
34:48the the Malik Neighbors thing for instance. Like we can see like the sentiment and vibes like turn on a dime with these things sometimes. Like it is
34:54possible they're running the playbook of keep expectations low so we can exceed them. But we're also a month before the season or less, you know, three and a
35:04half weeks or something before the season. uh you know, the incentive would be to get him some reps out there at
35:09this point. So, um anyways, with with Keenan, I I think maybe interesting to like level set where he was the past
35:18couple years. Uh he's hovered, you know, right around 70% of routes uh in both seasons. Kind of a three wide receiver
35:27set exclusive player, though on on teams that have, you know, ran a bunch of 11.
35:33Uh he's been right around wide receiver 40 in PPR points per game in both seasons. He was at wide receiver 39 last
35:39year or sorry wide receiver 45 last year and then wide receiver 39 uh the year in Chicago. Both seasons hovered around 25
35:48uh or 21 to 25% targets per route run which honestly I think is like kind of impressive given the target competition
35:54on both of those teams. He was playing with some real talent at wide receiver both in Chicago in Char and and the
36:01Chargers. not like all stars, but like good players. Um, so I I kind of think my base expectation is it's going to be
36:11similar to what it was in those situations where he's mostly going to be a three wide receiver set player. He's going to be heavily targeted when he's
36:19out there. And um, yeah, I think it just like if you think about what the three wide receiver set was, let's assume Alec
36:28Pierce is is healthy for a second. Let's say fast forward to week eight. What what the three wide receiver set was
36:33initially was something like Alec Pierce uh in the Z, some sacrificial X like Ashton Doulan or Nick Westick Aune in
36:44the X and then Josh DS probably in the slot and through wide receiver sets. And now it's probably Keenan in the slot. Um
36:51you know Josh DS in the Z but also rotating around a little bit and then Alec Pierce in the X. And that if you
36:57think about like just the math of a targets for outr run like that is a way worse scenario flipping Nick Westbrook
37:03Aune or Ashton Doulan for Keenan Allen for someone like uh Josh DS or or Tyler Warren for that matter. So I don't think
37:10it's like oh this is horrible for Josh DS like you should tank him in the rankings but I think it it like you have
37:16to say it it impacts him and um I think he should go down just you know a few spots in the rankings based on this
37:24news. Yeah, I think it hurts him a little bit. I I agree. Um, it's also something like we could kind of
37:32like what we had for Josh Towns didn't change because we had kind of built in the possibility that this would happen.
37:40>> Yeah, that's fair. Yeah.
37:43And and so I think but I what I would say for DS is that while I expect his slot rate to decline this year, I think it'll
37:54decline primarily because it looks like he will be the number two wide receiver on the outside. And one of the things
38:01that that Robert May actually talked about is like they have been kind of racking their brains in a way that like
38:08almost seems like a little overdone to me, but he I mean he is like 5'9, 171.
38:13He's not a run blocker, but they've been really trying to think about creative ways that they can utilize downs >> into wide receiver sets
38:22>> so that he can be a part of the run game.
38:24>> It's important. They've been, this is like a key thing they're thinking through of how do we not tip plays when
38:30we have Josh DS out on the field in two wide receiver sets. We cannot have it be a a signal that we're passing. We they
38:37they think a lot about you know um like rates of you know the in this personnel package are we are we passing at this
38:45rate you know a defense can then key on that and that becomes a problem. So they have been thinking a lot about how to do
38:52that with Josh DS. I assume Stikkin's a smart dude. I assume they've come up with some stuff. Um, and so I think he
38:59does probably play a lot outside in two wide receiver sets over the course of the year and especially at the beginning
39:04of the year with with uh with Pierce not out there. And then Keenan is an older dude. He's 34. Like I my guess is that
39:13when Pierce is back, it's it's Downs and Pierce on the outside in in those unless DS kind of falls on his face with what
39:20they're trying to do in the run game.
39:22that plan could change, but it sounds like the plan is for him to be outside there, which is which makes the Keenan
39:29signing less impactful, right? Is if he's going to be playing with Pierce and Keenan's going to be on the bench in 12,
39:34that that's pretty nice.
39:36>> The other key thing is what happens when it is a three wide receiver set. Who's in the slot? Keenan played 41% of his
39:42snaps in the slot last year. So, you do have the potential for Josh DS to play in the slot when Keenan Allen's on the
39:51field.
39:52>> I bet they'll mix it up, right? It'll probably be >> I bet they'll mix it up.
39:55>> Yeah. Yeah.
39:56>> Because, you know, last year we saw uh Vlad Maki played 65% of his snaps in the slot. That was down from his rookie
40:05season, but only slightly. He was at 69% as a rookie. So, I could see I could see some of Keenan in the slot in three wide
40:13receiver sets and some of downs in the slot. And it it probably hurts downs to have Kenan out there. Keenan's going to
40:20earn targets. He knows the system well.
40:22He does what he does. Um, and the kind of scenarios where like Downs and War are just like combo carrying the offense
40:32while Pierce is out are gone. I think Kenan will will have an impact. he'll he'll get some production, but ultimately I kind of I think downs will
40:40be fine. So, if I'm going to get a discount on downs as a as a result of this, I'm generally into it. I kind of
40:47want a discount, but I'm hoping that the market will want a bigger discount basically.
40:52>> Yep.
40:53So, yeah, still into him and kind of that >> um you know, early line there. Maybe on Kenan himself.
41:02>> Yeah. Oh, got it. Um on Kenan, where would you or where have you slotted him in? Again, kind of gut instinct here. I
41:10think like around the 150s, 160s, like in the range of uh Jaylen Naylor, Trey Tucker, Trey Harris, Dantavian Wixs um
41:19type of tier is probably um about where I'd have Keenan Keenan ranked, but curious Chris would think. We have him
41:29at 142 on underdog and uh I've taken him even above that depending on the team need uh you know you get down in that
41:39range sometimes and and you need more of a chaperone type of player or he serves that purpose really well. I I think part
41:46of it too with Keenan is like I don't actually think Alec Pierce is gonna be able to do what they think he's gonna be
41:54able to do. And so I've tried to like leave the light on in my brain for Alec Pierce to like take this big leap and
42:00become what they paid him to be. But I think he probably is more of like a really good field stretching guy who can
42:08earn targets downfield and not just run, you know, just kind of empty calorie go routes. He can actually get targeted on
42:15go routes. But I I am more skeptical that he's this dude who's going to emerge as an intermediate target earner and just like spike, you know, AOT drops
42:23to to 13 and his targets per out run spikes and he's like, "Oh, Alec Pierce, true number one receiver now." Like I've
42:31been pretty skeptical of that all all the time, you know, that this whole off season. And so, um, I think Kanan, like
42:39Kenan could really benefit from Pierce being back in some ways, uh, depending on what his role looks like where you have Pierce really stretching the
42:47defense in a way that they have to account for, but that then kind of helps open up space for Downs, Warren, Keenan,
42:56all kind of operating more underneath.
42:59And so, yeah, I'm not sure Kenan's like he might not completely go away. you know, he is obviously a more of a front
43:05weighted bet, but I think he might have some utility for the the vast majority of the season, you know, um >> so
43:16>> yeah, he's he's not an exciting play, but it's it's just on those teams where you need some wide receiver depth. I I
43:22think he's actually a pretty decent click. Like once Rashahed's off the board and you like kind of need a receiver, >> you know, I I think Kenan's in play.
43:33Yep.
43:35Am I Does it look like I'm still on the stream to you?
43:38>> Yeah. Does it look like you're not?
43:41>> Okay. [laughter] Uh oh, >> there's a delay. There's a big delay.
43:45>> Okay, we're we're good, I think.
43:48>> Okay.
43:49>> There's a really big delay. But >> yeah, I was just going to say on the keynote point, I think I think I agree
43:56with all that. I think um if you're building like the ceiling case for for Keenan, I think it is, you know, I I
44:04think he can approximate what the Michael Pitman role was last year. They actually, funny enough, had the same exact A dot down to the decimal. They
44:14both had AOT of 8.4 last year. So, they operate in similar places on the field.
44:20Um so, if you just kind of say, hey, one for one replacement, Keenan equals Pitman. And then you think of the first
44:2610 games last year. So this was before Daniel Jones was on the injury report with a tibula fracture. Um Michael Pitman was averaging 14.3 PPR points per
44:37game. That was right on the wide receiver one two borderline last year.
44:41So like I don't think it's crazy. Like can Keenan maintain that pace the full season? Maybe not. But can he put up a
44:48stretch like that at some point? I think so. And like sure he's more likely to be front weighted, but sometimes like I think people get too
44:57overly specific on like the the veteran stuff. It's like, oh, he's guaranteed to die down the stretch. Like it doesn't Yeah.
45:04>> always happen like that. Guys can pop during different points of the season just randomly. Uh so, you know, I I
45:10think he's >> I think you sold me on being a little bit higher than like 150 160. I think maybe like 130 140ish is is probably
45:18probably the better take.
45:20>> Yeah. And you know, it is it is a little bit team dependent, but when you get into those um when you when you're on those teams that
45:28get kids kind of need that player, then obviously that's, you know, he's kind of past the he's past the group where it's sort of like
45:37comfy, you know, so he's kind of that that last chaperone, last call for a chaperone kind of thing.
45:44>> Outside of like Dantavian Wixs and stuff, but I just have a lot more faith in Keenan than someone like AD Mitchell.
45:49We talked, we joked about AD Mitchell being a comfy click like >> Yeah.
45:53>> Yeah. He's not really that comfy when you think about it.
45:57>> No. Yeah. And the Daniel like it's the the Colts offense in general. Like I was a little bit worried about the Daniel
46:04Jones stuff, but reporting there has been pretty solid on on how he's recovered. And if he's lost some of his ability to like plant and throw the ball
46:14down the field, that's also good for Keenan uh to some degree. So >> the Daniel Jones stuff has been >> I mean that's the thing and you could
46:23see it like in his body language that that's the thing that jumped out maybe the most to me from the Robert May
46:28report is like he's like Daniel Jones is like back dude like he just looks he's doing everything he's doing bootlegs he's doing roll outs like they're moving
46:36him around like he looks back. Um do you want to take CD Lamb here?
46:42>> Yeah, let's do CD. Yeah. Um he's like maybe like if he opens it up in like the open field on a you know a scramble he
46:52doesn't have that same top end speed he used to. But he's like that's literally like the only thing that might be
46:57different. He looks at least the way he looks out there. So that's been real encouraging. And I mean I've been taking
47:03a lot of Daniel Jones. Um I have some Daniel Jones Keenan Allen stuff from before he signed like in the final
47:09round. So that's fun. I but it's it's been encouraging. Um, Jonathan Taylor, I'm I'm actually one of the few guys in
47:16like the first 10 picks that I'm actually like legit overweight on.
47:21>> Uh, because I've generally evened it out, but I'm I'm kind of into Taylor more than the market a little bit.
47:29>> All right, we're on the clock. We've got Achan, Chase Brown, top of the queue, then AJ Brown, Bowers, Neighbors. Uh,
47:36>> I like Chase Brown here. Um, like him a little bit better than HN. Yeah.
47:43Um, yeah, Taylor's a guy I've kind of done a a 180 on be mostly because I was like I was just nervous about the
47:50structural stuff of like, hey, what if Daniel Jones isn't isn't back and then we're talking about Anthony Richardson starting some games or what's his name?
47:59Riley Leonard starting some games. But I'm way less worried about that systemic risk now. So, I have uh yeah, I've been
48:07trying to there was like a point where I was like taking the wide receivers over him, like the Amanra CD guys, but I'm
48:14I'm trying to catch back up and make sure I'm at least like even with the field on Taylor.
48:20>> Yep. Yeah. Ammonra is the guy I've kind of ended up light on, weirdly, but um yeah.
48:27Uh yeah, Killy's used to be apparently.
48:31>> Nico coming way up. Yeah, I'm interested to see how how that the ordering of the wide receivers in this range goes after
48:38our after our chat. Uh see how far Nico Well, we saw how far Nico gets pulled up. See how far L gets pulled up.
48:45Interesting.
48:45>> That's a good Yeah, that's a good one to keep an eye on, too.
48:49Um yeah. Any other kind of newsy stuff that's jumped out to you over the last week?
48:56>> Um the Naji Harris signing is just like kind of interesting. in a weird way to me just with like
49:06I don't know exactly how to it because like a lot of people are like oh it's cuz Tyrone Tracy like missed
49:15that one block but the entire off seasonason the Giants have been linked to running backs like they were linked to like every high-end free agent
49:21running back and running backs in the draft. So like >> I think it's like more related than people want to admit.
49:29>> I think they would have. I think they definitely would have. I do too.
49:33>> Yeah, I think that man I am like I am going to be a a coward with these like ankle
49:42dislocation fracture injuries, but like I am just not taking any scatabo.
49:47totally get how like his projection and everything could be a great value in the fourth round, but I I don't I think part of it is just
49:57like we don't want to load up a guy coming off this this injury with a [ __ ] ton of touches and Naji is just like
50:03Naji isn't going to be fantasy relevant on his own, but feel like they're going to get him touches weekly and potentially high value ones. Like he can
50:10catch the ball, he can take some goal line carries.
50:14Yeah, I I I think it's actually kind of like legit not that good for Scatabau, but what what do you think?
50:21>> It's not great for Scataboo. I mean, it I think in some ways I think it hurts his ceiling because you're looking at a
50:29guy who with Tracy there. I mean, Tracy, as the Giants, I do think now believe stinks. Tracy stinks. He wasn't even
50:37that good as a rookie. And he's not I mean Jacob talked about this on on ADP chasing the other day like he's not a
50:45good passing down back. He's a former receiver who you can throw the ball to, but when you put him out there in in
50:51third and eight, >> Jackson Dart might have to go to the blue tent. Like it's >> it's that's actually not his role.
50:58>> I would just like one, you know, wide receiver who converted to running back be good at catching the ball. Um,
51:06>> hear my love, Bree Hall at the top of the the kick here. I love both these guys here.
51:11>> Yeah. Um, >> yeah. I I haven't been drafting enough.
51:15Like, let's do Love. Let's do Love, but my only question was like, does he fall all the way around to the fourth at this
51:20point with >> Bree sometimes does too.
51:24>> Um, I think Love is the more likely of the two to fall. Breeze goes here. 312.
51:30>> I think it's fine.
51:32>> Wadd and McMillan here.
51:34we are seeing like I am seeing and like we didn't really change much. I think it's more about the rest of the picture
51:43but we are seeing now like Wadd McMillan sometimes Wilson flip >> uh these running backs that we have been taking a lot of uh at the 34 turn
51:54and even here Javvante wasn't top of the sidekick with uh with CD Lamb on the team. So I'm I'm pretty excited to take
52:01McMillan here if you're good with that.
52:02>> Yeah. Yeah. I I like I like McMillan here. I like him a little bit more than than Garrett and then the next group of
52:10guys.
52:11>> Yeah. Uh but yeah, Jeremiah Love and Bree Hall at the late third.
52:18There was a period where like the all the fun stuff was happening on the front half of the board and now finally like
52:23those two running backs falling to the late third or even early fourth make drafting on the back end, >> you know, you can get excited about that
52:31part at least.
52:33like see like Chris Olive not flipping I know it's just like two picks so like whatever but him not flipping Dvont and
52:41George Pickins is just like wrong to me and I'd be surprised if that holds like >> I don't I don't think it's wrong because
52:47I think Tyson comes back and I think Smith has a higher percentage chance of just like being the dude all season than
52:55Olive ultimately.
52:57>> Yeah.
52:58>> And I'm 11 guys, you know.
53:00>> Yeah. Yeah. I just think there's this huge like Saints are going to be one of the fastest paced teams I think at least
53:06have the potential um to be above average in pass rate ever expected.
53:11They'll probably be more middle of the road. Um and the Eagles are just like I don't know like how many more pass
53:17attempts are the Saints going to have than the Eagles this year? It could be.
53:20>> I'm not sure it's like going to be a ton more to be. I think I I've never really fully bought the the the pace argument
53:26on the Saints. And I'm I'm also kind of skeptical on the pro side because they have a secondyear quarterback who might
53:34not be very good. Like the the potential for Shuck to actually be a limiting factor for this offense, I think, is a
53:40little underappreciated. Obviously creates upside where they could be fast-paced, he could be really good, they could lean into the pass. Yeah,
53:49>> but they like didn't have a running back last year and I think >> that is true.
53:55>> You know, right? Like they might be pretty different. Like Ellen Moore, he went crazy run heavy with the Eagles, you know, like he has he could be pretty
54:05damn runheavy.
54:07>> But but yeah, I just think the I just think that's like I think it's more of a Jaylen Herz stat.
54:12>> He is clearly related to Herz.
54:15>> It probably is. and and Moore wasn't super runheavy with the the Cowboys. The Cowboys actually though did open things up even more
54:22>> with with Moore. I guess Moore kind of went really pass heavy, dialed it back, but McCarthy kind of brought it back
54:28from where Moore was in his final season.
54:34>> Trevon, man, I kind of like Lamar here just a tick more.
54:40>> [snorts] >> I don't hate Trevon here if you if you really feel strongly, but >> he he of the two I think Tayvon comes
54:47back more often. So, I'm I'm a big fan.
54:49>> Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Yeah.
54:51And we have I like Price as an out for a running back, too. Um >> fair >> coming back, man. I just love I'm just
54:58like fired up about I'm pretty fired up about the Ravens.
55:01>> Um >> yeah, I totally get that.
55:05>> I totally get that. I'm a little bit worried this Breece Holder is now going to get Tvon and just going to easily win
55:09the league. But um >> yeah, [laughter] >> it's a good team. This is a good team.
55:15>> It's a good team. Yeah, and they takes TV. So, >> all right. Well, basketball mania is over. It's not even worth
55:21>> this apology. Oh, and then he takes Drake May. Come on, man.
55:26>> [laughter] >> He's he's he's actually p he's shifted from drafting a good team to pandering to you which I think is a little bit
55:33>> it's a little bit tasteless in my opinion >> it's working >> price [laughter] >> I'm going to be honest I'm see if this
55:40guy wants to sell a piece of the steam >> uh I I like Price here you out he's top of the sidekick
55:46>> Yep.
55:46>> Let's do it.
55:48>> Um just to get back to the scaboo Oh god.
55:52>> Oh yeah. No no I had more of a You go ahead. I I had not not not that important comment. What were you going
55:58to say >> on the Scataboo stuff just to we kind of got uh we didn't finish that conversation. Um and I did want to note
56:09that like I I do think I think it's going to be really hard for the Giants not to play Scaboo a bunch. They do want
56:15to run the ball. Uh I think that he as like an early down hammer, you know, has some clear utility is going to be a lot
56:22better than Naji at this point in their careers. I would say they're obviously a lot better than Tracy and I think will,
56:29you know, be utilized at the goal line and have like a pretty solid role. The thing that's frustrating for Scataboo is
56:34it doesn't seem like the Giants realize like who he actually is, that he's this three down guy who's like a really good
56:40pass catcher as well. Like he's super dynamic as a receiver. um in addition to be kind of this like you know pounding
56:48bruising uh like high success rate between the tackles guy and I could see a world where they just like don't stop playing Naji enough to ever
56:59figure that out. I mean yeah this is Harball looks super washed >> and Naggi's never had it. So, I mean, they these guys are dumb enough to just
57:10like not play Scataboo enough. And I and I do think they would have taken Jeremiah Love had they had the opportunity, which would be really dumb.
57:19You know, this team does not need a running back. It needs a lot of other things. But that I think they they gave
57:25us pretty strong signal that that would have been the move for them. Uh that's the move they would have done.
57:31So, yeah, I it makes me a little bit nervous on Scataboo, too. I do think that like he's still mostly going to
57:38kind of get the role that he would have had, but it's harder to dream on him now as like this kind of mega smash,
57:46which like frankly he should be in the fourth. He should be such a smash in the fourth if healthy. You know, health
57:52should be the only real concern that we have for him in the fourth round. And the Giants are insisting that we have
57:58other concerns. [laughter] They just refuse to to do the right thing here. They also did they didn't have to bring back Deon Singleary. They
58:05like brought him back. Like it just seems like one of those things like, "Oh, Naji gets hurt." Well, then they just replace the Naji touches with the
58:12Deon Singleary role. Like, you know what I mean? Like there's just enough bodies there that I think it's just going to be
58:17like annoying. Um, but could be wrong. The injury, like I think people point out that this injury is like a very small sample size thing.
58:27Like the recent results of it. Are we gonna make her pick first? Um, Leaporta, have you factor in the recent Laaporta
58:35injury into this? Cuz >> not the one from like 20 minutes ago or whatever.
58:38>> Yeah, maybe we don't. Should we take >> Yeah, we can skip La Leaporta.
58:42>> Addison or Cororm, I think, for me.
58:45>> Okay.
58:45>> Um, >> let's take Cororum.
58:48>> Okay.
58:49>> Uh, and then Addison has the lower ADP, more likely to come back. Yeah, >> we do also have demo down just goes, but
58:58>> of course >> I think if we're doing tight end even, I would like craft has a higher ADP. I think Leaporta is going to fall more
59:04with this very recent injury.
59:07>> Yeah, >> we can go Craft if you want to if you're down for the tight end.
59:13>> Yeah.
59:15Um I hope he doesn't >> go.
59:21I think I'd be Addison. I know he's a little bit down for you guys. I just think >> I'm fine with that.
59:26>> Yeah. Okay. Yeah, I think um Yeah, we I feel good about our running backs. Um yeah, Addison is a guy. I mean, just
59:38like I think I've talked about this before, but like you're getting a huge You're not really getting a Justin Jefferson discount on
59:46what happened last year. I mean, you are, right? because Justin Jefferson's been the 101 before and he's, you know, so you are getting some, but I think
59:54you're getting the much bigger discount on like the Addison and Hawinson guys based on what happened last year being such a disaster and uh yeah, I I believe
60:03in in Kyler returning this offense to to confidence at least.
60:07>> Did someone say Nashi? I got my bags backed in 94. [laughter] Wait, isn't this the guy who did he is
60:15this guy who won DraftKings like taking like 80% Naji? Um, what's his name?
60:22>> I don't know if it is. I don't know if this is Felix or not.
60:26>> For some reason, I feel like this is >> for some reason cuz that's his guy and he won him he won
60:32him the the DK Millie.
60:34>> Yeah, he said that's >> Felix. Okay. [laughter] Yeah, >> Alex has free reign to to Yeah, you go get >> You can do whatever you want with Naji.
60:43Like most people would criticize that, but you know what you're doing. Uh you have a system. I don't I don't question [laughter] it. Uh
60:49>> it's working for you.
60:50>> The system is to draft Naji as much as humanly possible in part obviously. Uh >> I did like this comment from Hey, this
60:58is from a little while ago, but hey, it's to me uh like wide receivers convert to running backs when they can't
61:03cut it at wide receiver. Yeah, that is like it's so like Antonio Gibson was was this and like he came into the league
61:11and like the the main reason he failed his second year, right, is because he like couldn't win the the pass down role
61:17and he was a converted like I feel like I always overrate that. I'm like, "Oh, >> JD McKisick." Yeah.
61:23>> Yeah. Yeah. [laughter] Conversed wide receiver like, "Oh, he's going to be really good at catching the ball and then you remember, oh yeah, he converted
61:30from wide receiver because he sucks at wide receiver." You always have to >> No, >> you always have to remember that part.
61:36>> Well, no, I don't. It's not that he sucks at receiving. It's that there's a difference in skill set between being a
61:43player who plays in the back field on passing on obvious passing situations and a player who lines up out wide and
61:49runs a route.
61:50>> You know, like those are two different roles. And so when you convert from wide receiver >> now to get on the field in those same
61:57super obvious passing situations, you need to like understand blitz pickups and you need to be good at pass protection and like you know there's
62:05checks at the line like now you're the the protection has changed. Like are you up to speed on all that stuff? Like you
62:12know it's a little different. So Kyler Murray here makes a ton of sense I think with Addison. Are you good with that?
62:18>> Yeah.
62:20All right. Cool.
62:22Um, so yeah, that's that kind of but it is funny. I mean, yeah, Gibson's a great example where like he >> I feel like Gibson was just like
62:30straight up dropping the ball too. Like it was tough. It was like definitely was the pass blocking was the bigger part of
62:36it, but he never struck me like when I watched him in the passing game, I was never like wowed by like his route
62:41running or anything like that.
62:42>> No. Um, >> no, that's true.
62:45>> Yeah.
62:46Um, >> no, he's kind of a ball in hand guy. He was he was fun.
62:49>> Yeah. Yeah, he was he was actually kind of as a Patriots fan like he was always he was kind of buried there as the
62:57running back three, but he was like pretty explosive his two years in New England. It just he never got credit for
63:02it because the team was so so bad. Yeah.
63:04>> I mean I I'm a golden I'm a Matthew Golden guy. I know you're not. Um if you're philosophically opposed to Golden
63:11then I'm okay with >> I'd rather take one of these running backs. Do you have a preference?
63:16>> No.
63:18Rashad White ALS bucket challenge injury or Yeah, it's >> Yeah, we we took we took White.
63:29>> Yeah, it's it's fine. I I I think go like I I I know we've had the Golden conversation before, but like I just I
63:38think I see the upside a lot more on him than than you guys do.
63:45Um, I get the point that like I think I heard you talk about it yesterday. It's like he could be a solid player and
63:51still could be the wide receiver or sorry the the fourth target because Craft, Reed, and Watson are all good.
63:59And I think that makes a lot of sense. But at the same time, like I still think there's like a ceiling. Like none of those guys are
64:08like established top options. Like they never have really proven that over a large sample. craft is coming off the ACL injury. So, you
64:15have that. It It just feels like it's going to be very concentrated on those four. And I think for me, like the the
64:22reporting has just been so good this off season. Um he wasn't that bad as a rookie like from a >> from a per route basis. He was he was
64:31definitely bad from a Raw stance standpoint for sure. But I do think there is like the context there of like him getting getting banged up early in
64:40the season and them having so many like solid options like Dantavian Wix is slotted for a starting role on his new
64:47team. Romeo Dobs slotted for a starting role on his new team. Like these aren't guys that were like nobodyies that were
64:52playing ahead of him. These are guys that like other teams invested in and are like starting like it was just I think like a weirdly deep
65:01wide receiver depth chart um that I think is like unique that play for a lot of the season, >> you know,
65:10>> and Reed was for for early in the season. He had the foot and then he had the collar bone. So
65:17>> it was kind of clean cleared out, you know, unless you think Wix is some big impediment, which I don't.
65:24>> So, you know, it was kind of like he should have been I in my mind he should have been like fighting Dobs to be the
65:31number one wide receiver there as a first round pick.
65:35>> Yeah, it was. I mean, the trigger point really was when Watson came back because Reed was or or uh Golden was like a 60%
65:4570% routes guy until week eight and then from then on he was he was kind of just buried by >> Yeah.
65:50>> by Watson for the most part. Um >> Watson took his shot.
65:55>> I see.
65:56>> Yeah. All right. Um Concade Andrew's a little further down. He's not had a great camp which is why he's a little
66:02further down. But >> yeah, I' I'd rather do concade. I'm not >> Yeah, me too. I'm not too worried about stacking. I'm kind of worried about Mark
66:09Andrews career being on on life support to be honest.
66:12>> I am as well. Yeah.
66:15>> Shahed I like a lot. Um if he's still there. Higgins obviously done.
66:21>> De Mitchell made an appearance here in the sidekick. Who's he's second >> he's just got taken but >> I do have a lot of Rodriguez but I don't
66:29it's it's probably for me Shahed is I mean it's Keenan in play. I guess he's probably pretty buried.
66:36>> I would be Yeah, I'd be We one, we can probably wait on Kenan.
66:41>> Yeah, if you want him.
66:42>> Yeah, >> I'm good with Shahed if you want to do that.
66:45>> Yeah, I I really like Shahed >> and we stack up Seattle a little bit.
66:50>> Yep.
66:53>> Interesting. Coleman pops over over Shahed >> ult.
66:57Yeah, these builds are are switching up a little bit. Like we're we had two running backs through the first five >> and then so we could have gone to six
67:07running backs there. Not exactly a zero running back build, but we didn't have, you know, the classic hyper fragile build either with the second running or
67:14the third running back in the sixth >> and then for him in the seventh. So, kind of an interesting >> the the builds are getting a little bit
67:23less um predictable uh in the sidekick right now, which I which is which is kind of what I was assuming would
67:29happen, but it is. And it didn't. I like thought it would happen like August 10th. I was like, "It's going to
67:34happen." Then it like didn't, >> you know? I was like, "Oh, I have a fragile again today, buddy." But now I'm
67:39starting to get more zero running back, more kind of like >> I don't know exactly what to call them type builds. Um, and but it but with
67:50like more of the running backs in this range because we we do actually like Coleman. We like I mean damn Lloyd in
67:55the 12th already. Um, >> yeah.
67:58>> Rodriguez >> Rodriguez falling. So Rodriguez falling.
68:02Coleman rising but in a way that I'm into. Lloyd rising in a way that I'm into.
68:07>> Um, we've gotten a little more into Katon although still not a ton but you know he's he's an option in that range.
68:13So, Alier is I think a better click. I think he goes one 11 1101 here, but um you know, you know, he he's a he's a
68:22better click than I I was thinking he was a couple weeks ago. So, >> yeah, for sure. Just one data point, but
68:30Jawan Johnson goes uh between KD and Goddard in the tight end uh rankings here, which actually I think is is about
68:37right. Um I think that's about the right spot. Yeah, I prefer Cade still, but I think that's like very close to be
68:44honest. I think that's like right exactly where he should be going.
68:48>> I don't really have much push back on that. I think and he's in that that general range for sure now.
68:53>> Yeah, [sighs] Keenan still available, I think.
68:57>> Keenan still >> would be my guy. Schultz we talked about also I think is a pretty good pick now >> for sure. Um,
69:08what what are what ADP are we at right now?
69:11>> This is pick 154. Keenan has a reach, but of course his ADP is still pretty meaningless.
69:18>> It's pretty meaningless. Yeah.
69:20>> Yeah. So, I think I think he given this is one of those teams I talked about, right? We have four receivers, but a
69:26fourth or third receiver is Addison at pick 87, Shahid at pick 135. So Kenan gives you that depth um that's harder to
69:34find later.
69:35>> So I'm in Kenan as well.
69:38>> And then >> we'll we'll see what happens here, but uh yeah, so Schultz pops up as the best pick here.
69:45>> Yeah, and I think I agree with that. I mean, I realize we're not squeezing like all the value out of it, but I don't
69:52really care. Uh I just think Yeah, I mean Schultz is so boring, but I was actually looking up his stats. like he
69:59was at 20% targets per outr run last year. Like I think that's a little bit higher than most people think in their
70:04heads when they think of Daltton Schultz. Like he >> I think it is >> um he was getting some real volume and I
70:10don't it's if anything the situation's better this year. I think >> the other guy Yeah. He just got sniped. I I would
70:19float Jacobe Lane here as a an aggressive >> Oh yeah.
70:23>> Yeah. Let's do >> in there. Let's have some fun. a little let's let's have some fun on a a Thursday afternoon type of pick.
70:30>> Hell yeah, let's do it.
70:33>> So, >> I mean, I I saw a pretty sweet practice clip of him mossing someone in the end zone.
70:40>> Yeah, >> I'm Yeah, I I was trying to think about this. Do you think there is more hype for like later
70:52round rookie wide receivers? I'd say like second round basically non-first round rookie wide receivers than we've ever had before. Like there's Jacobe
71:02Lane, Denzel Boston, Cyrus Allen, Caleb Douglas. Like >> I think so like it right.
71:10>> Yeah, I think it's two things. One, um, well, maybe three things. One, this was a good wide receiver class. two, people
71:22treated it like it was a shitty wide receiver class because the rest of the rookie class kind of sucked. And so
71:27like, you know, from a dynasty perspective, like you did have to take these rookie wide receivers like higher than you wanted to because
71:34>> all the other positions were so thin that you're like, well, I guess I'm taking, you know, like Cyrus Allen. I
71:39just I did a I'm in a dynasty league that like didn't have uh all the teams, you know, that people had they had to
71:46like find another owner, you know, and so finally the rookie draft just kicked off and Cyrus Allen was I think the 110
71:52in the rookie draft.
71:53>> Like yeah, it's, you know, >> it's crazy.
71:57>> It's crazy.
71:57>> It's crazy. part of me is like ah I I >> yeah like you know [laughter] it's not I it's wild but like you know there's not
72:08a ton of depth to the class overall and so the receivers I think kind of suffered in terms of the perception that
72:15way and then I think the other thing is the rookie wide receivers in baseball are priced down maybe partly due to that
72:23perception but also partly because rookie wide receivers have actually burned us a little bit over the last couple years um by being too expensive
72:30in some cases. Not entirely. I mean, we have seen some really big hits at rookie wide receiver, but it hasn't been like
72:36the money printing machine that it that it was like in 2020 or 2021 when all these guys are just way too cheap. Uh
72:44>> and so you've had guys like Lane Boston Stribbling. I mean, Stribbling was literally his initial ADP was like undrafted, you know, in the
72:55>> Yeah, that was that was insane. Yeah, >> it was nuts. Yeah, we were we were all over that one. But um I'm in a Barner
73:01here if you're you're down with that.
73:03Stacking up Seattle.
73:05>> Yep.
73:07>> Uh but yeah, so so there's actually been like a lot of room to run on some of these rookies. Like I've you know,
73:13Jacobe Lane was a 20th round draft draft kings pick and you know now we were we're reaching for him in the 150s. 159
73:23we grabbed him here. But I think he's going to keep keep rising to an extent.
73:27So yeah, the pricing dynamic in baseball, just kind of the misalignment of like how good this class actually is versus the perception from the dynasty
73:35side, I think it all just like it created like a pretty um fertile ground for for guys to rise. Travis Hunter at
73:43183. I mean, come on.
73:45>> Yeah, I think we take him.
73:47>> Yeah. I was going to bring this up in the if we had time with like the I guess what's driving this right is there was
73:53what was it there was some practice join >> there was two it's two things >> report barely played with the offense
74:00>> Shipley said he's looking like the cornerback won and then he didn't play offense for one day of so like literally
74:08the only time this has happened all summer but it did happen after after he looks like their best quarterback and like I
74:16I'm Am I Okay, so he's good, you know, like he's a two-way player who's good, you know, like do I want him
74:24to be a two-way player who's bad or a two-way player who's good? I think I would want him to be a two-way player
74:29who's good. So, yeah, I mean, >> yeah, >> my my perception all along has been he's going to play more defense than offense
74:36this year, but that he's going to play plenty of offense and uh you know, he's going to play plenty of offense. There's
74:44no, by the way, there's like literally no wide receiver four here. It's just these four guys and they're gonna they're gonna use Hunter a good amount
74:54over the course of the season. When I have to predict it, it's going to be a lot less fun. When I don't have to
74:59predict it and I just have to get the macro level like Hunter's going to play, then I think I'm gonna I think that's
75:05going to pay off. Now, you know, we're not like slamming him as much. There's some other bets that make sense, but god damn, dude. We just got
75:14him at 183.
75:16That's a That's a one spike week hit.
75:19>> That's how we we win with one spike week at 183.
75:24>> It gets so much so much easier to take him. Like all the fun rookies were scooped up. Pat Bryant was scooped up.
75:30Like I kind of get like why he slid a bunch because it's not like there's a ton separating this tier of guys. So I
75:40get why you can just keep like tiebreaking someone else over him. But I mean, yeah, it's number one, reacting so much to like
75:48practice snap counts is like a little bit silly, especially for a guy who was a two-way player and it could literally
75:55just be like, "Hey, Travis, we're focusing you on defense today in this joint practice." Like, yeah, that totally makes sense as a plan for a
76:02team. Like, are do they need to have him be a 100% two-way player in practice?
76:07Probably probably not the best idea. So like I >> we're actually I think as a community we're being annoying. Like we're annoy
76:14like think about what it would be like to be the Jags right now. We're like they're like yeah we're going to play
76:18them both ways. Like don't worry. And then they're like but you didn't play them on Wednesday. What does that mean?
76:23>> Like uh nothing. We told you repeatedly >> that we're playing him two ways. Like can you chill a little? Like [laughter]
76:32you you guys are freaking out over everything.
76:35>> Like I think we can chill a little.
76:36Let's just chill a little. a little.
76:39Travis Hunter is a two-way player who's gonna play two ways, you know? It seems like >> it seems like a pretty safe bet.
76:45>> Uh even if there's gonna be games he doesn't do anything.
76:48>> Uh Kate.
76:50>> Yeah. Okay. It's I wanted I kind of was hoping Kateton was going to get taken so I could have >> Oh, you always hope Kateton gets taken.
76:57Yeah. As someone who drops Kate, you hope he gets taken. [laughter] >> Yeah. I mean, I was fist number one, I
77:03was fistbumping when Kolar got taken because I was I did not want to have to have the Charlie Kar conversation. You
77:10guys might be right about that.
77:11>> I don't know if there would have been a there wouldn't have been much of a conversation, Sam.
77:14>> You guys might be right about it, but I can't I can't admit it. You know, it's >> Isn't ETR on Colar now? It's not just
77:20us. We >> I don't know. I don't care who's I This isn't an >> Oh, you don't even [laughter] care? No,
77:25I'm like I've I'm fundamentally against him at this point and I can't like I can't change my opinion.
77:33Like it'll take it'll take a lot. Um >> Oh man.
77:38>> Oh man. Ridley probably or Bait. Oh, I kind of like Baitman. Uh with >> We can do Baitman.
77:45>> Yeah, the double stack with Lamar is kind of fun.
77:47>> Double stack it. Yeah.
77:48>> Yeah. Have a little fun.
77:51>> Dude, I I like this team. I feel it's the best team we drafted this this >> I think it might be and I wasn't feeling
77:57that way early on. I was like, "Oh man, you know, we're get we're getting completely locked out at receiver." Like when we got uh who was it? There was a
78:05pick that we that we IBD off of that was a running back and I was just so bummed out because I was like all the running
78:11backs are going or all the uh >> who was it?
78:15>> Was it Javvante?
78:17>> No, it was Shahed. It's when we took Shahed. I think the top recommendation was Rodriguez.
78:24>> Yeah.
78:24>> I was like we keep getting boxed out at receiver in a way that's like Shakir didn't come back. Um in one of the previous turns, you know,
78:35we kind of got a bunch of guys got wiped out at receiver. So I was just like ah this is are we how are we going to land
78:41the plane at receiver here? And then we got Rasheed Keenan stacked lane Hunter at 1603 stacked Baitman with CD Lamb with Tedo McMillan with Addison. Like
78:52we're good. We're good at receiver, dude.
78:55>> This is a good team.
78:56>> Yeah, this is a fun it's a fun group of wide receivers, too, because it's like I like the Lane and Baitman pairing as
79:02like early season verse verse late season. Keenan, uh, and you know, Keenan's kind of the more boring, stable bet, and then you have like the the
79:11bigger swings on Travis Hunter and Rasheed Shahed. Like, it's just it's just like a well-rounded wide receiver room, even though we built it out late
79:17with a players I I like a lot. Um, so I think it has plenty of ceiling.
79:22I see Sax comment. He says, uh, I heard Sam [laughter] coming to some liquidity recently. There's an opportunity. So, the core of the point is I I refuse to
79:31participate in the colar discourse at all. So me like even even me talking about the possibility of this bet is like I'm crossing the line of of where I
79:40want like I don't want to be I don't want to be involved on either side of the colar. Like the fact that there is a
79:45colar debate is what is most upsetting to me. So I I don't I don't want any part of it. Um and I'm very very
79:52sick of it.
79:55>> Well, you're about to be more sick of it. I think I think you're going to be even more sick of it as the season goes
80:00on.
80:01>> Yeah. I I hope I hope not. The only this what this reminds me of is when we I think you know this was like three years
80:08ago. We we did like an entire summer of like Sam Perine is gonna get cut by the Broncos and what team is he going to
80:16sign with discourse and that that consumed like hours upon hours of fantasy content and it didn't matter at all. And I think that
80:27>> I think it's more similar to when we were arguing about who the Giants wide receiver two or wide receiver three was
80:33with Hajins, Isaiah Hajins and Darius Slate. We spent an entire summer dissecting >> Isaiah Hajins, Darius Sllayton, and then that truly didn't matter. But this time,
80:43Sam, [laughter] the guy has tight end eligibility, so I think it might matter.
80:49>> Oh my god.
80:51The Wandale. Yeah, the Wandelle vers Sllayton verse Isaiah Hodins. That had to be an ADP chasing graphic that I It came prepopulated in the in the deck
80:59every single time. It was in there every week for some reason. We had to >> The only the only change up is
81:05>> sometimes you would add T. Higgins to it.
81:07>> Yeah. [laughter] Sometimes Higgins is in there.
81:10>> Yeah. Lawrence Cer, you know, maybe was in there a couple times. Uh yeah, good times.
81:17>> I love drafting a tackle with my 20th pick. Does this cross the line for you?
81:21Is this too much of a discourse or are you are you are you trying to make comments like that or you're you're out?
81:27>> No, that's so if I can if I can find a way to um be derogatory towards him without mentioning him by name, that is
81:35fine, I think.
81:36>> Okay.
81:37>> It's more acknowledging the ex Yeah, like directly acknowledging the existence. So I Yeah, I might steal that for for a tweet.
81:43>> Would you would you call yourself a conscientious objector to the Charlie Coart? [laughter] I actually, no, I'm serious. Like, I I
81:53was thinking about coming back to fantasy full-time and then I saw the the Charlie Kar discourse. Uh, and I was like, it's not, man, it's not worth it.
82:01Like, I I don't know how you guys put up with this. Um, >> and then we're not putting up with it.
82:09>> And then there was the Laquent Allen.
82:12People had everyone had to give their Laquent Allen take about what it means that he's injured. I'm like, "Guys, we don't need not everyone is everyone
82:21being held at gunpoint and being forced to give the Lquin Allen take."
82:24>> You know, I will say you're like, you're kind of well adjusted mogging me right now because like you won BBM and you're
82:33like, I am not going to care about Laquin Allen or Charlie Golar. And I'm like, I'm going to build a site about
82:39Charlie Golar. [laughter] It's like you don't understand. This is the entire point of the sidekick was for the Charlie Kar situation.
82:49>> Oh man.
82:49>> Yeah. Yeah.
82:51>> All right, man. Well, we can uh we can call we built a good team today.
82:55>> Um >> Yep.
82:56>> We'll be back next week. I believe next week's DraftKings uh >> uh final best baseball week. So, uh I'll confirm that and if so, we'll be on the
83:05DraftKings streets next week. But uh >> I am out. I said I was out this week and Oh, you're out next week. Next week I am
83:13actually actually out. Um so yeah, get a get a good guest on. Uh please >> would you have been able to make it if
83:21we didn't talk about Charlie Colar to close this up or you always were >> Yeah, I I I need a week off. Um
83:28>> Okay. All right. [laughter] Well, you know, I get it. You don't want to burn out.
83:31>> Yeah. Yeah. Don't burn out.
83:33>> All right. Well, appreciate everyone watching. We'll be back here on the Legup channel on Monday with Greg Branos for Coach Speak Index. I'm sure there's
83:41gonna be a ton more to talk about. Um, and yeah, we'll be uh we we're drafting on ship chasing next week. We got the
83:49ADP chasing main event and then we've got our Crack Rock draft which is always a spectacular part of my summer. I mean,
83:57it's kind of crazy to think it's already here, the Crack Rockck Draft. It's just like, >> you know, it's such like peak August
84:05>> um stuff. But yeah, we're doing Crack Rock Draft Thursday 27th at uh 7:00 p.m.
84:12Eastern. So, I'll actually need to change up when we're doing that's fair.
84:17Um, >> cool. I can be flexible.
84:20>> Well, no, you're you're out. This is this is I'm talking next Thursday.
84:24>> Oh, next Thursday. So, maybe we can do >> I Well, this is good good podcasting, but I I'm flexible next week. Uh we can
84:32maybe do what that's fair on like a anyway my work schedule is like Wednesday.
84:37>> Yeah. Or like different different times.
84:39We'll figure it out. We can maybe a different time. Yeah.
84:42>> But anyway, ship chasing next week.
84:44Check it out. Uh Crack Rock 700 p.m.
84:48Eastern on Thursday the 27th. And then the ADP chasing main event Tuesday at 7 p.m. We're going 700 p.m. basically the
84:55rest of the way on ship chasing.
84:56Following Monday we got Stat Chasing.
84:58Following Thursday, we got uh draft with you doing Sam Sherman's main event.
85:03Thursday the 3rd at 7 p.m. and then uh 7:30 p.m. Tuesday the 8th, the 5K big payback with Mike Leone and Gretch. So,
85:12ton of ship chasing content.
85:14>> Yeah, it's uh it's it's pretty fun.
85:17>> Um all right, thanks again for watching, guys, and uh see you later. Have a great weekend. Good luck in your drafts.
