Adonai Mitchell

PositiveRole15:35

Mitchell is now a true number two receiver for the Colts following Omar Cooper Jr.'s departure. Matt Waldman highlights strong route-running and adjustments against the Raiders, including good deep crosser execution against cover six with strong high-low adjustments near the boundary, demonstrating the high-end ability he showed at Texas and Georgia despite past inconsistency.

Insight page

Antonio Williams

PositiveRole6:30

Posted a career-best five catches in his first game as Terry McLaurin's replacement, including a 30-yard seam route late in the game. Matt Waldman characterized Williams as a better pass catcher than Trayon Burks in terms of technique and consistency, with most of his plays coming on the outside; he still possesses big-play ability but is less volatile than Burks. Bob Harris cited David Harrison from Lockdown Commanders saying Williams had the best first day of training camp he'd ever seen from any player, though Williams had a strong Week 1 before disappearing.

Insight page

Ashton Jeanty

NegativeUsage22:14

Jeanty received only two carries in the Raiders' game against the Jets, with Mike Washington receiving the bulk of the workload instead. This was a massive and unexpected shift in workload, as there was no prior indication before kickoff that Jeanty would see reduced carries. Bob Harris and Matt Waldman reject the notion that Washington is better than Jeanty, noting that recent criticism of Jeanty's vision was actually based on film of Washington's poor performance. However, Jeanty remains effective in the passing attack with three receptions, indicating he retains value in the offense even with reduced carries.

Insight page

Braelon Allen

NegativeUsage21:21

Allen has accumulated 300+ yards over four games filling in for Breece Hall and has earned enough opportunity to retain a role in the offense even after Hall's return. There is expectation that Allen will continue to see carries as Hall is potentially eased back in to avoid reinjury.

Insight page

Breece Hall

NegativeRole21:21

Hall is set to return this week after a four-game absence, but Braelon Allen has accumulated 300+ yards during his absence and earned enough opportunity to cut into Hall's workload. While Hall's contract suggests the Jets want to feed their primary back, there is expectation he may be eased back in gradually to avoid reinjury, potentially allowing Allen to retain some carries.

Insight page

Bryce Young

PositiveProjection9:09

Bob Harris film breakdown dismisses 'found out' narrative after Panthers loss; attributes poor performance to offensive line pressure (blitzers reaching Young at top of drop in 3 seconds) rather than knee injury or QB decline. Matt Waldman noted the knee is not the primary issue; even if limited, it appeared to affect only two rollouts in the entire game. Young had some red zone rushing errors but wasn't blameless; however, key drops by Tatara McMillan (end of half, late third quarter) and Tommy Tremble in pivotal moments in a 14-point game were more impactful. Harris recommends holding Young rather than streaming alternatives like Darnold or Pennix, noting Young has established a series of decent games this year and last year rather than the one-good-one-bad pattern of past seasons.

Insight page

Chuba Hubbard

NegativeProjection14:05

Hubbard finished fifth among running backs in Week 8 scoring.

Insight page

DK Metcalf

PositiveSleeper27:07

Matt Waldman assesses Metcalf as underrated and believes he should be given extended developmental opportunity. With two to three more years of development, Metcalf could become a Debo Samuel-type asset—not as physical but faster with ball-tracking ability. However, injury and the addition of Wandel Robinson have undercut his developmental trajectory, limiting his current upside.

Insight page

Gardner Minshew

PositiveRole3:18

Replaced Jacobe Brassette in the third quarter with Cardinals trailing 17-3 and led touchdown drives on his first four possessions in a 33-30 overtime win. Finished 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Bob Harris characterizes Minshew as 'that special ops guy that got dropped into the middle of a war zone and somehow figures out how to make sense of it,' excelling in chaos and high-pressure situations, though noting he may struggle with structured game planning and regular practice preparation.

Insight page

Justin Jefferson

PositiveUsage25:05

Jefferson's value is being diluted by mediocre target allocation split between multiple receivers due to Kyler Murray's inefficient play and poor decision-making. Despite scoring a one-yard touchdown, Jefferson is frustrated with the split target distribution, a problem rooted in Murray's tendency to run rather than execute efficient plays.

Insight page

Kimani Vidal

NegativeUsage29:01

Running back with versatile skill set (can run fast and catch, run in straight line hard, and do it all) but is significantly underutilized by the Chargers offense; described as part of a messy offensive situation with too many pieces and inconsistent deployment.

Insight page

Kyler Murray

PositiveProjection24:59

Murray's Week 8 performance was poor, marked by inefficient play and hamstring soreness. The underlying issue appears to be Murray's tendency to run around the pocket rather than make efficient plays, which is compounded by a split target distribution that dilutes value for his receivers. Bob Harris notes that Murray's hamstring soreness stems from his habit of running around instead of making efficient plays.

Insight page

Lamar Jackson

NegativeInjury17:42

Lamar Jackson suffered a severe thumb injury on his first play back after a three-game absence and will require surgery; while not committing to being done for the season, there is talk he may return after week 14, creating significant fantasy uncertainty. He also took a hit to the knee from Ed Oliver during the game with uncertainty about whether he would be able to continue playing.

Insight page

Michael Wilson

PositiveRole3:54

Played through two broken ribs and delivered a gutty fourth-quarter performance against Dallas with three catches for 48 yards and the game-winning toe-tap touchdown. Demonstrated elite route-running technique, working into defenders' feet with discipline on intermediate routes and breaking outside with precision; Bob Harris notes Wilson's discipline and footwork exceed that of comparable receivers like Adonai Mitchell and AD Mitchell. Wilson plays the Puka Nacua equivalent role in Michael Flur's offense; Cardinals extended him in the offseason. Projected as a top-30 fantasy pick next year (first two rounds/middle of third round).

Insight page

Mike Washington Jr.

NegativeUsage22:14

Washington received the bulk of the workload in the Raiders game against the Jets, getting all the carries while Jeanty was limited to two. However, Washington was ineffective, averaging 3.3 yards per carry and being stuffed six times in the game. Despite the massive workload shift into the starting role, Washington struggled with efficiency and contact balance, raising questions about whether he can sustain the role vacated by Ashton Jeanty.

Insight page

Tyler Huntley

NegativeInjury18:08

Tyler Huntley was injured in the Ravens game with a turf toe; an MRI was being conducted to determine the severity, affecting the Ravens' quarterback depth chart amid Lamar Jackson's thumb injury.

0:00Good morning everybody. It's time to feel it or [ __ ] it. The wonderful podcast you like to listen to to start
0:06every week after we've watched all the NFL games and decided, damn, that was crazy.
0:13You don't know how much crazier it could get than week eight was. Uh, just off the hook. Crazy. It was wild. I am Bob
0:21Harris. You can find all my work at football guys and hear me on SiriusXM fantasy sports radio seven days a week
0:27if you're not careful. Uh he is Matt Waldman. He's been busy. I got emissive this morning from the rookie scouting portfolio. Tell me what's going on over
0:35there at mattwallman.com.
0:36>> Yeah, we had an October update both for uh the RSP pre-draft postdraft subscribers and because I was lapsed in September for the first time in about 22
0:46years. Um, I sent you I sent the the uh subscribers a a free month update of the October projections and rankings that I
0:57also sent out to those subscribers who get it all year. Um, so you can download that off of the site from Excel with the
1:05password that's in the email. Um, if you are if you got some sort of email and you don't have a password or link to it,
1:14that's because you subscribed to the blog. You didn't pay for it. So, sometimes sometimes I get emails about that. Just in case you're one of those
1:22folks, you didn't pay for it. It's just announcing whatever things I post on the site for you to see. And that one isn't
1:31for just general viewing. So, >> I feel like you you miss September. feel like October should have like some kind of special name. I'm thinking like my
1:39friend Richard Christie who works on the Howard Stern show, he celebrates Cocktober.
1:44I don't know. I'm just suggesting, you know, just I don't I think that's just reserved for certain parties. So I, you know, but I
1:55would say that uh I would say um that the that the you threw me for a loop there,
2:05but the uh but I would say play drums and and the cockto came up. I don't know.
2:11>> Projections and the projections and rankings full update this year this month. So, you'll get that. And also in the newsletter for folks who are
2:19subscribers to the pre-draft, post-draft, you also get um some risers and fallers that I was looking at um from the NFL. So, a little bit of a two
2:28for one on that newsletter. And then uh you know, we got the top 10 coming up um tomorrow morning and of course the round
2:35table next um you know on Wednesday with the gut check.
2:38>> Football guys. Yes.
2:39>> Yep. On football guys and then the replacements as well as that. And I think Jeff Bell and I will be podcasting
2:44this week on Thursday night and and Brandon uh Angelo and I will be podcasting on Wednesday night. And I think me and Heath are doing something
2:53this week on CBS. I'm not sure, but Heath Cummings and I'll either be this week or next week we're doing something
2:59on Thursday. I got to look at the schedule. But yeah, so you know, we got a busy week all over the place.
3:06>> Yeah. And my and and right now somebody's upstairs just above me working on our AC. So, if anybody falls through and tackles me, it's because
3:14that something happened and something happened bad. That's that's basically all I can say.
3:18>> Uh, we'll see what's going on next week in Arizona when they face the Seattle Seahawks. Somebody's going to be tackling somebody. And the quarterback,
3:24it remains unclear. Cardinals coach Michael said Sunday he made no decision about the starter against the Seahawks in week nine. This after Gardenner Mchu
3:32replaced Jacobe Brassette in the third quarter. Cardinals were trailing 17-3.
3:37He led touchdown drives on his first four possessions in a 3330 overtime win.
3:42Finished 17 of 23 for 188 yards and three touchdowns. Is it Mchu time?
3:48>> I'm going to say [ __ ] it. Um mainly because I think what Gardenner Mchu is great at is he's like that special ops
3:56guy that got dropped into the middle of a war zone and somehow figures out how to make sense of it. But then when
4:02there's a game plan and then there's like um you know practice beforehand and do you have everything organized that's when kind of the warts show a little
4:12bit. He's not fit for like regular society quarterbacking. I think I think that he's one of those guys that um does
4:20very well in chaos and then does very well and the Cowboys defense. I mean again pressure they can get pressure but
4:28they're not great against the pass. So, I mean, this was an inspired performance for sure. Some of the throws he made
4:34were fantastic. And Michael Wilson, I mean, listen, >> gutted that game out. Two broken ribs.
4:41>> Yeah, two broken ribs before the game.
4:43And you're watching like the first c the first target that was led him a little far and he was in pain there. Then
4:50there's a fourth quarter play that went that he had to stretch out for that he couldn't get to because Jacobe Brassette
4:57got hit while throwing and you could see that was rough on him and then he reels off what like three catches basically 48
5:05yards worth of catches in the fourth quarter back to back and then he gets the gamewinner on that toe tap. That
5:11that was a gutty performance and just excellent. He's such a good technician on top of that. I mean, the way that he
5:17works into the feet of defenders, um, takes so much discipline to be able to run an intermediate route and get literally almost even with that defender
5:28and then break outside like that. Um, a lot of guys don't do that very well. Uh, Donnie Mitchell um, was doing that. AD
5:38Mitchell was doing some of that this week, but not quite to the level Michael Wilson can. I mean, just a fantastic
5:45overall game for the Cardinals late.
5:48>> Yeah, I was And of course, it comes against Dallas who we I guess we should expect. I saw Dan Graziano at ESPN wrote
5:53that, you know, talking about this that Michael Wilson should be a top 30 pick in fantasy next year. That's that's pretty high, right? That's the top first
6:01two middle of the third round. And and his argument was it's he essentially plays the Puka Noola role in Michael Flur's offense. Uh and the Cardinals
6:09extended Wilson in the offseason. So, uh, >> sounds like something somebody said in the spring.
6:14>> Well, I think we discussed this as well, but little affirmation never hurts. Uh, more affirmation came for me in the form
6:22of last night's game. Washington, uh, hosting the Philadelphia Eagles. Or was it in Philadelphia? I don't know. I might have backwards. I should check
6:30things.
6:30>> It was in Washington. I thought so. Um, Trayon Burks. Uh, you know, we had talked about this before. I thought he's
6:37the more natural replacement for Terry McLaren that Antonio Williams would have a role. Lo and behold, Draymond Burks looks like a natural replacement uh for
6:46Terry McLaren had what, three catches, 81 yards, a 53 yarder, and Antonio Williams was still good. Had career best five catches. But but are we going to
6:54see Trayon Burks fulfill the promise he had coming out of Arkansas?
6:58>> I think it depends on what you saw at Arkansas. I mean, I think if you saw him as like a world beater receiver, then
7:04that. But I think that if you as a replacement, the way you stated it, Bob, absolutely feeling that. Um, he makes
7:12some really inspired plays. You can see um there's a nice crosser where he leans into the defender, gets loose, and then
7:20makes a full extension grab and you're like, that's beautiful. Like the great athletic ability. Um there was a nice play on a on an out and up that he ran
7:31where just the the tempo that he ran the route and the ability to to land the stick at that tempo and give the head
7:40fake and just get up field and catch it was nice. But then you also have the clap attacking the some issues with just
7:48consistency with the little things that separate like a good receiver from a great receiver. But I think he's got a chance
7:55to become a good receiver and even if he he doesn't ultimately get there, I think he's good enough for what they need
8:02right now. He's a big play guy who's a little more volatile than Antonio Williams where I would say with Williams, he's still got the big play
8:10with him. He had a nice out and up himself up the seam um late in the game for 30 yards, but most of his plays are
8:17more outside. He's a better pass catcher than Trayon Burks in terms of technique and more consistent, but Burks gives you those big plays that I a little more of
8:26a chance at that than Williams does.
8:28>> Yeah, I love the role and I love the effort and the results were great as well. And Williams can be a great thing.
8:33I keep going back to, you know, David Harrison from Lockdown Commanders told me like the first day of training camp, he had never seen a player, any player
8:41have a better first day of training camp than Antonio Williams. and he kind of, you know, drew a little praise during
8:47the course of training camp. Had a good week one, had kind of disappeared. We like to see him get see what he can do
8:51with this opportunity. Look, this is an offense that's building for the future, right? There's uh, you know, and not playing in the NFC East. Apparently, the
8:58future might be now, but uh, nonetheless, I think this is a good long-term look and we'll see. Terry McLaren's getting older. He's still got
9:05big contract remaining, but we'll see what happens there. Bryce Young. Uh Dave Canal says maybe when he was asked if Bryce Young's knee is limiting his
9:14mobility and maybe limiting his overall game. Uh do you think that's possible or has he just been found out? Feel it or
9:21it?
9:23>> [ __ ] the found out part. I watched that game and even if the knees limiting him a little bit, it might have been on two
9:31rollouts in the entire game. When I watched that game, what I act what I saw more than anything was offensive lineman letting blitzers
9:42through very quickly at the top of Bryce Young's drop. Unless the knee is bothering his drop that he's literally 3 seconds too slow, which he would not
9:51even be in the game if that was the case. Um, the knee is not the issue there. Um, pressure dropped passes. T
9:59McMillan Tatara McMillan had um a couple of drops in this game in key moments.
10:05Tommy Tremble had a key moment drop.
10:08There were some there were some batted passes and Young wasn't blameless. I mean, he had a couple of plays that there were a couple of throws in the red
10:16zone that he rushed and didn't really and and didn't throw accurately. But for the most part, this was really a matter
10:23of the offensive line allowing pressure in and guys making key drops at moments that really could have still been pivotal. This was a 14-point game and
10:33some where some of the drops were one at the end of the half and one in the late third quarter. Those were pivotal plays
10:39that could have kept them in this game a little bit closer than they were. and the pressure was enough that when you
10:46get to the top of your drop and the routes are still in their stems. Um, you know that unless the quarterback waso
10:54made a mistake with a a check or some sort of adjustment, this should have been, you know, these were on the line
11:01more than they were on Bryce Young. So, I don't think he's been found out. I think that this was just uh good
11:06defensive play.
11:07>> I think both my uh live stream on Saturday, people can come visit me there and ask me questions, too. every every
11:13Saturday at noon, but also throughout the week on the radio or through throughout the weekend after the game a lot of questions about, you know, should
11:20I move on? Can I dump Bryce Young before? Can I You know, I feel like, you know, he had established himself with a
11:27series of good games. It hadn't been in past years been one good game, one bad game, one good game, one bad game. This
11:32year, and dating back to last year, there have been a series of decent games. I think it's a little early to
11:37give up on him, so to speak. I don't know if I want to dive into the streaming waters of Sam Darnold and you
11:42know that that level of player Michael Pennix who apparently can you know not throw us well in the rain. Well, not at
11:48least better than Baker Mayfield. Let's go with that. But >> have you ever seen a game where they win they won without completing a pass? Is
11:56that >> Never seen Never seen that. Also, I believe there's never been a game in the history of the NFL where two running
12:02backs have run for uh 25 carries and 125 yards each. as we saw with Bucky Irving and Kenny Gable.
12:11>> Wow. Okay. I would have thought there would have been it's a rather unique rather unique game. Uh yeah, so interesting though. Um but yeah, I I
12:19think fantasy wise, don't give up. The Panthers obviously aren't giving up yet.
12:24We'll see what the rest of the year plays out, but I think there's going to be more useful weeks than not when we
12:28get going. Eli Sters came back against the Cowboys two weeks ago. He played 12 snaps, was targeted once without a catch. He built on that against the
12:36Commanders last night. Was this a a function of the Commanders just not being very good or was this Eli Ster's role? Is he a rising player?
12:44>> I think eventually he'll be a rising player, but when you look at the the game, two of his two of his 40, I think
12:5246 of 53 yards. Two of those catches came at the end of the game with the with um the Commanders playing an
13:00umbrella defense underneath.
13:01>> Three for 53 was where he ended up.
13:04>> Yeah. So yeah, he had a seven-yard catch that was a little out earlier and then the rest was just garbage time. I mean,
13:11literal garbage time. So I would hold off on hold off on grabbing Eli Sters just yet unless you know some somebodyhow dropped him in a dynasty
13:21league, then you absolutely you want to snatch him right now. But otherwise, you know, we'll see if he even um if he's
13:28even a factor the rest of this year. I want to run through the top producers at running back in week eight through
13:35tonight's game. Uh Tyler Algier was your running back one with 36.1 points overall as we all expected. Um Tony Pard third 28.7 points. Apparently he is
13:45unstoppable. EMTT Johnson turned a handful of carries into huge numbers. Uh 25 fantasy points. Chuba Hubard was five. Jir Gibbs, you have to go all the
13:55way down to six. Didn't see that a lot.
13:56But Bashel Tutin was running back two.
14:00uh had a nice game, the rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown. Uh 29.9 fantasy points. Have we seen the peak tootin, feel it or [ __ ] it? I'm
14:09going to say [ __ ] it. I think there's more to mine with this player. Um and it's starting to come together for him,
14:15which is good. Um the ball security's been good enough that he's been able to stay on the field consistently and be
14:21the lead back. Um you know, really strong mobility out of his game. He's someone that can make that second move in tight um space to find a cut back and
14:32then the speed and burst is there and he runs hard. You can see this he looks like a guy who should be a he runs like
14:38a guy who's like two 215 and he's really what like 205 somewhere in that range.
14:44>> Yeah. Like I feel like I feel like everyone thought you know he came in he had great numbers at the combine and
14:49everything and and like maybe he was but he's he's not a small guy. I mean, he's not one of the bigger backs, but he
14:55looks like he's built for the for the job.
14:58>> Yeah, he's got that low center of gravity. Ran through two Colts on the way to a 39 yard touchdown on one play
15:05and then, you know, they got him involved in the screen game this week. I think he's I think he's one of those
15:10guys that he's close to what his peak value will be. Um, but that what I mean is he's he's close to his peak
15:18abilities. his peak value. I think as the line continues to get better, this team becomes a little bit better. We may
15:26see this guy turn into a top five overall running back for the next two to three years. He's a back I'd want to
15:32build around.
15:33>> Yeah. I think back to when we were drafting him in draft season, we were discussing him and and I felt like, you
15:37know, the price was exactly right for him. It was a running back like just outside the running back two range. I
15:41said, "You're not paying for a role that doesn't exist yet, but one you think will exist." And he has now worked his
15:46way into that role existing. So you got great draft value for him. He's returning huge value and now becoming a a lineup lock on a weekly basis. Adnai
15:55Mitchell, is he heading in that direction? So look, Omar Cooper Jr., we hardly knew you, sir. I hope you hope to
16:00see you again sometime. Adai Mitchell is a true number two here, right? I would agree. I think he is right now. I'm
16:07feeling that. Um, just from a route perspective right now, he's running good routes. I see, you know, I saw a number
16:14of good routes against the Raiders. It wasn't zone routes where the Raiders were did a bad job or that the coverage
16:20did a particularly bad job. It was Adonai Mitchell did a good job. And then on top of it, you um you know, he made a
16:29really nice grab, you know, on a it looks like a deep crosser um basically against cover six where he gave a nod to
16:36the safety, but the out routes were nice. His adjustments high and low near the boundary were strong. just looked like an all-around good game from a
16:44player at Texas and Georgia who was inconsistent at times, but you could see the high-end ability. And speaking of the Colts, just I mean, you know, they
16:54got rid of him. Now they're going And who are they going back to? Who do you think they're going to go back to, Bob?
17:00We talked about it last week, didn't we?
17:02>> We saw we saw a little bit of it this week on our first look at Anthony Richardson on the field and maybe we'll
17:08we'll see. J. Stiken is also not committing, evaluating everything.
17:12>> He's not cuz he's because they look like fools for getting for bringing Daniel Jones in in the first place. I'm sorry.
17:19I'm just I'm not a >> So we we differ on this. I think they had a successful season with that. Now,
17:24did they overpay him coming off an Achilles? Probably yes. I think we can all agree on that. But also, there's some re there was reason to believe they
17:32could get something going with him. I I just want to go back to Mitchell quickly. Every time I think about him, I
17:36think about our friends Zary Canedian who who stood on the soap box when Mitchell was drafted by the Colts saying, "This guy is going to be great.
17:45Trust me on this." So, Zary, appreciate you, man. Well done on that one. Uh, so Baltimore Ravens have some some issues,
17:52Matt, at quarterback. Lamar Jackson, first play back after a three-game absence, uh, injures his thumb, apparently severely. Uh, he'll have >> goes two of my fantasy teams.
18:02>> Yeah. Yeah. At least two of mine there.
18:04He'll have surgery likely not committing to being done for the rest of the year.
18:07I' I've heard talk that like maybe maybe after the week 14 he can come back but for all intents and purpose. Then uh
18:14Tyler Huntley was injured in this game as well. Uh a turf toe. They are having an MRI being done on that today. So
18:21we'll see how that plays out. In the meantime um Joe >> he is standing by. He took a hit to the
18:29knee from Ed Oliver and I wasn't sure he was going to get up. I started wondering who the who the next man up was going to
18:34be. We never find out probably. So just but uh so a lot of talk that they'll be interested in adding a quarterback. Um
18:43reports that they've already reached out to the Bears about Tyson Beant. He has connection to Declan Doyle, the offensive coordinator. Uh but the people
18:50that are like they could just go out and fly somebody in and say, "Put on the pads. Let's play." Uh is Jimmy
18:55Garopppolo, would he be a potential replacement for Lamar Jackson? Feel it or [ __ ] it?
19:00>> I feel it. I I feel this possibility cuz I mean look he's been he he's been sitting he's been other than like some
19:08of those dirty work years in San Francisco where he was pretty good much of the time um you know he sat behind
19:14Tom Brady for most of his career you know so uh he he's probably fresh enough he then he sat behind Matthew Stafford
19:21as well I mean he might not want to play anymore and maybe he's still pursuing a modeling career or whatever it is but no
19:28I mean he's he's a precision passer um that would help this offense a lot.
19:33He's someone that can execute a play action game at a strong level. Um which would be helpful. Um is he is he great
19:41under pressure? Not really. But with what you're going to get um at this stage of the season with a third string
19:50replacement, he's probably the best of the bunch. He's probably the one that I would want the most to give them a shot
19:56to keep this playoff um hunt alive. Um but and then also for the experience per dollar that you would get I'd say is
20:04pretty strong.
20:05>> Yeah. Not a lot of free agent talent out there available. He's probably the only one to trade as >> they had him and didn't like it very
20:13much. So I don't know. We'll see.
20:15>> Bring the party back.
20:17>> I'm not sure that's going to work. Uh we'll see what goes on there. I I'm I'm intrigued by the the talk about Bee and
20:24a lot of people think he can be very good. Is Matt Waldman one of those people? Yeah, I liked Tyler Bean a lot.
20:29I thought that he could be a future starter and there were people talking about him after his first year behind uh
20:35Justin Fields. I think it was behind Justin Fields that they were there were people calling, you know, from the NFL to see if they could trade him after
20:43that first season. So, I mean, this is a guy who who does see the field well. Um he can move. He's a good athlete with a
20:51strong arm and he just needs more playing time and I think he will be a second uh second contract starter or
20:58competing for a second contract starting spot at some point. He's kind of a future Jimmy Garopolo in that sense and his dad can beat anybody in an arm
21:06wrestling match >> apparently. So, uh so Bree Hall, he can beat a lot of people in arm wrestling matches as well. Also, he's a very good
21:14ball carrier when he's on the field.
21:15It's been four games since we've seen him. Uh in the meantime, Brilan Allens racked up 300 plus yards in his four uh
21:23replacement games with him. Uh Aaron Glenn says Reall won't be traded. Said that earlier today uh as we taped this on Monday. Will he get the entire
21:31running back job back in New York now that he and he is set to return according to Ian Rapaort. So let's say
21:36he's back this week. Does he get the whole job or are we going to see more Brillan Allen?
21:40>> I think Brilen Allen's earned enough of an opportunity for him to cut into some of Bree Hall's time. But if you're just
21:46going to go by the numbers, well, you look at Bruce Hall's contract and that he signed a deal that they probably feel
21:52like >> they want to feed the guy who's the man.
21:55But I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ease him back in a little bit more and let Allen have a couple more games
22:01where they they see if they can kind of ease Hall in so that he doesn't reinjure anything.
22:08>> Yeah, I think that makes sense. And and I guess the the Raiders could always ease Ashton Genty back in after giving
22:14him two carries. Mike Washington got all the work uh in this one. I I'll say this caught people off surprise. I know did
22:20because I had Sam Gordon from the Las Vegas Review Journal on my Sirius program an hour before kickoff asking him what's going on with Ashton Genty.
22:29What should we expect today? He was very enthusiastic about the possibilities of of Ashton Genty rebounding while running against the football Jets. So apparently
22:39there was no indication that we were going to see this massive shift in workloads and it was massive, right? So, uh, is Mike Washington better than
22:46Ashton Genty? Matt Feler, [ __ ] it.
22:48>> No. [ __ ] no. Um, one of my favorite um is one of my favorite um guys. There's a um Oh, Win. What's his la What's his
22:59first name? I can't remember. But um I'm thinking DatenW, the former um Cowboys linebacker, but Tedwin >> Tedwin who um
23:09>> who writes for the Athletic and last week he did a funny job of like going Yep. Ashton Genty has no vision
23:17whatsoever. And he showed like a few clips of Ashton Genty, supposedly Ashton Genty getting stuffed and and missing creases and and everybody and it was a
23:28bit because it was Mike Washington that was actually that he was showing and Mike Washington got stuffed six times, you know, in this game, too.
23:35>> Yeah, he got he averaged 3.3 yards a carry, had the six stuffs. Uh Genty is still good in the passing attack, three
23:41catches, 64 yards. I feel like this was a benching, a soft benching, like a scatterbo like benching for the mouththing off about the Jets being able
23:50to tackle during the week.
23:52>> Yeah, I think that that was probably it.
23:55I also think that maybe I I sometimes wonder if this is a little bit of a diversion, like a little WWE
24:04diversion kind of thing where for the couple weeks they were talking about maybe we're going to rest him for a week. maybe we rest him for a week and
24:12then they didn't.
24:13>> Um, but maybe this was a good excuse to rest him for the week and say, "Hey, why don't you mouth off about the Jets and
24:19then we'll rest you."
24:20>> 38 snaps to 25. So, it was, you know, about a 6040 split, the direction you wouldn't think it would go in. So, we'll
24:27see. I keep going back to another one of my friends in the uh in the beatw writer industry, Vinnie Bonsingor, who when
24:33when the injury first cropped up uh in the summer, you know, when we didn't know how bad it was and was thought,
24:39man, well, they've got Mike Washington and his line that he tagged on there was like just like defining. It was like,
24:44yes, they have Mike Washington, but he is no Ashton Genty. I think that's probably uh over time going to prove to
24:50be true. We'll just see that. We'll just see if Genty He's fast. I like that. All right. Uh, let the curve stop of Kyler
24:59Murray's game begin. Matt, go.
25:01>> Justin Jefferson's getting a little irritated, isn't he?
25:05>> Yes.
25:06>> He got a touchdown. What does he want?
25:08>> Yeah. A one-yard touchdown. That's what he Yeah. So, hey, that works. It was, you know, Hey, but I think that's the
25:15problem is that he's probably looking at at Murray and he's going, "Yeah, you know why your hamstrings [ __ ] sore?
25:22because you keep running around here the way you do instead of making efficient plays. And I think that's part of the
25:27problem. And then you you look at this and it's like when you basically split mediocre um target value between two players, um it's going to be it's going
25:37to be tough. I'm I'm wait maybe they can get Ty Felton to like come in and and and do something to Murray so that none
25:44of the other players get suspended. I don't know. They're going to they're going to be plotting for this one probably, don't you think? I mean, what
25:51would you I I don't even want to ask you what you would do if you needed to off Tylum Kyler Murray.
25:57>> Well, I would send him not duck hunting with Carson Wentz.
26:02>> That's kind of the That's kind of the GM. That's kind of the General Motors thing they did in Madmen is they they
26:08shot old Kenny, you know, right in the face, >> you know, going hunting like that. some maybe they need to maybe they need to
26:16send Kyler Murray to like GM headquarters >> or toutelage from the the late great Dick Cheney. Uh so we'll see see what
26:24goes on there. Honestly, like you know when you start hearing the rumblings and and he hasn't been great. It was you
26:31know it could have been worse this game.
26:33Uh I mean but it was pretty bad.
26:37for week eight. It I mean I would have thought I mean honestly I was I was betting about week five, week six, but
26:44you know Justin Jefferson's pretty pissed. Got to give him credit. He missed some games. So first we're set back. You're probably still on track
26:51here.
26:53>> All right, let's uh let's uh stop the uh the Murray abuse and uh I wish him good luck in his call to duty activities
27:01today.
27:01>> He's great in that. I hear >> I hear that as well. I think he's I think he's not that bad, but okay.
27:08>> Shimray DK apparently the best player on earth. Is he underrated, Matt?
27:12>> I think he is underrated. I think there's there's this is one of those guys that they should let develop a
27:17little bit more. I kind of worry that um I I look at him and I think he's one of those players that if they if they gave
27:25him an extended opportunity to really develop in two to three years, he would be like one of those an underrated Debo
27:34Samuel type of player. Not as physical, but faster and someone who can go up and get the ball. And I think that he would
27:41be he'd be an asset. And I'm worried sometimes that due to injury and that they wanted to get somebody in like
27:47Wandel Robinson who's very good player.
27:50Um they've they've kind of undercut their developmental um flow here with the player.
27:58>> Fair enough. Um I think we bash Kyler Murray enough. Let's fight a new whipping boy here. Uh Justin Herbert. Uh
28:04as much the problem as Mike McDaniel in Los Angeles. Feel it or [ __ ] it?
28:08>> I'm going to say yes, but I don't and no at the same time. I don't think Mike McDaniel is as much of the problem as
28:17his offensive line is the problem. And and I don't think his offensive line is is the sole problem when you consider
28:24that McDaniel does have a new system and he has young players and they're shuffling in and out and getting hurt. I
28:31mean, you brought in Charlie Kolar, you brought in um, you know, David and Zhoku. You you have Aronda Gatston who still is basically an oversized wide
28:41receiver and not a tight end. Um, and those are your top three tight ends and two of them are new and one of them's a
28:47secondyear player who's not even and a and in a second year as a tight end ever. And let's not even get started on
28:54the wide receiving core. So, you know, add all that together and a run game where you have, you know, one guy who
29:01can run fast and catch, one guy who can run in a straight line really hard, and then one guy who can kind of do it all,
29:08but they don't use enough in Kamani Vidal. And it it's a mess. There's too much going on with all of this and too
29:16many too many pieces. And next thing you know, you're looking at um you know, you're looking at a scenario where Justin Herbert on top of that
29:24makes usually two to three big mistakes a game after making two to three amazing throws.
29:30>> Yeah. Some of the interceptions have been horrific. All the decisions.
29:35>> Yes. And this has been going on for much of his career, but we get blinded by how good of an athlete he is and how
29:44beautiful of a thrower he We got blinded by Madison Beers, he said inappropriately.
29:49>> There you go.
29:51>> But I mean, I think that that's that's part of it is that that's the gravity of the bad plays.
29:57>> Yeah.
29:58>> That you either avoid or that you end up making is more important than the impressive throw that's that's made. And
30:06I think that's the scouting thing that people miss a lot is that the gravity of either avoiding the big the bad play or
30:15the gravity of making the bad play. And if you all you need is two to three of those in a game and you you've lost the
30:22game big time as a quarterback.
30:24>> Yeah. 257 yards passing. 54 of it came on a desperation throw at the end of the first half. It was kind of bounced from
30:30one to Lad McConi and uh uh yeah, it's not been good. and and I he just I don't know if he looks I don't want to like
30:38you look at him he looks either confused, beat down, >> desperate. I mean he never looks like he feels good about anything and maybe
30:46that's you know you're right. I think that's probably a big function of the offensive line. It's the same thing we saw last year once the final piece went
30:52down when Joall went down in week 10. Uh after that there was nothing that anybody could do. I feel like we're in
30:57the same boat this year. So don't don't expect to rebound people. When your offensive line is good and you do this,
31:03you you lose close games or you chargers yourself where you you look like you're on the brink of making the playoffs and
31:10then you you lose some key games, but you look competitive, look promising, like you're about to turn the corner.
31:16When your offensive line's bad and you're doing all that, you've got what we got right now.
31:21>> Yeah. And just uh for your fantasy investors out there, I know we all I talk about a lot, you know, how you
31:27invest in bad offenses and it's skimming the surface. This is a bad offense.
31:31They've gone 27 straight drives without scoring a touchdown. That's the longest streak by any team since 2024. Um I would say that there is no level I would
31:40be willing to skim into. I this week I checked and the highest projected player was Lad Maki. He was wide receiver
31:4836ish. So barely a wide receiver threelevel play under the best of circumstances right now. Until they prove something otherwise, uh it's hard
31:57for me to make a strong case to play any of these uh players in in Los Angeles.
32:02I'm sorry.
32:02>> Yeah, me too. I I just downgraded Lad Makoni in the uh in in my rankings mainly because of that. Good player. he
32:10can't stay healthy and we talked about that last week. You know, some of that speculation, but I'm going to talk about
32:15that with Brandon probably this week a little bit more and see if he has any more thoughts to add about that.
32:20>> All right. Well, I remain healthy. I show up every week. I get the job done.
32:23That's it for the feeler [ __ ] podcast. Matt, what's going on this week? What should people look for now?
32:27They have their email. Everyone's happy with that. What's next?
32:29>> Bob on the hot seat. Bob on serious all week long.
32:33>> I'll be doing that. I think Jim Coventry coming on the hot seat with me from Roto Wire.
32:38>> Bob Harris. What?
32:39>> Yeah, silliness.
32:41>> Yeah, come on now. Look at he's stubbing his toe and moving into the ground right now. But no, I mean that's what we got
32:49going. We talked about it at the top. We appreciate you listening and good luck with the crazy eightweek and hopefully you came out unscathed. I don't know.
32:58>> Two teams on by this week. It might be okay people. It's the Titans and Steelers. It's like not a big impact.
33:02It'll be great.
33:03>> All right, Matt. Love you. Bye.
33:04>> Love you. Bye.
