Brock Purdy

PositiveProjection0:00

Ian Hartitz argues that Brock Purdy is undervalued, noting he is the QB2 in fantasy points per game since Week 10 of last season, trailing only Josh Allen. Purdy has recorded four games with 25+ fantasy points since Week 15, a feat unmatched by any other quarterback. Additionally, Purdy holds the record for career yards per attempt and passer rating in the Super Bowl era among QBs with at least 500 attempts, proving his elite efficiency regardless of the system. His performance has remained high even when playmakers like Deebo Samuel and Trent Williams were sidelined, debunking narratives that he is merely a product of his supporting cast.

0:00Can we put some respect on Brock Purdy's
0:02name already? We're talking about a guy
0:04that since week 10 of last season when
0:06he returned from injury is the QB2 in
0:08fantasy points per game behind only Josh
0:10Allen. Since the fantasy playoffs last
0:12year in week 15, we have seen Purdy rip
0:14off four separate games with 25 plus
0:16fantasy points. No other quarterback has
0:18even come close. I know Kyle Shanahan
0:20and the endless number of weapons in
0:22this 49ers offense help matters, but
0:24even if you want to call Brock Purdy a
0:25system quarterback, first of all, you
0:27are wrong. This dude does a ton of cool
0:29stuff off script and out of structure.
0:30But second of all, we have to admit at
0:32some point that's the best system,
0:33arguably, in NFL history. In fact, Brock
0:36Purdy is the QB1 in the Super Bowl era
0:38in career yards per attempt and passer
0:40rating with a minimum of 500 pass
0:42attempts. I'm also old enough to
0:43remember when we saw Deebo Samuel and
0:45Trent Williams miss a few weeks and many
0:47thought that Purdy was simply someone
0:49taking advantage of all the playmakers
0:51at his disposal. Now it seems like a
0:52different 49ers wide receiver is getting
0:54hurt every single week out there. Purdy
0:56is playing like one of the best
0:57quarterbacks in the NFL. It's about time
0:59we start treating him like it.
