Rashee Rice

NegativeDepth Chart0:21

JJ Zachariason expresses concerns regarding the reliability of Rashee Rice, citing him as a factor that leaves the Chiefs' wide receiver depth chart open for competition.

Insight page

Skyy Moore

NegativeSleeper0:00

JJ Zachariason suggests that while Skyy Moore benefits from a soft Chiefs wide receiver depth chart and the potential to catch passes from Patrick Mahomes, he is an undersized, slot-minded player who should be dominating in non-contact practices. He remains a speculative late-round option rather than a guaranteed breakout.

0:00Should we actually be buying the
0:01training camp hype from Chiefs rookie
0:03wide receiver Skyy Moore and Allen? On
0:05the one hand, the man did show out at
0:06the Senior Bowl, put together a very
0:08twitchy pro day. There was reason to
0:10believe even before August practice that
0:12this is a certifiably good football
0:14player. This Chiefs wide receiver depth
0:16chart is also pretty freaking soft to
0:18begin with. Kadarius Toney is already
0:20unfortunately with another shoulder
0:21injury and yeah, let's just say Rashee
0:24Rice is maybe not the most reliable
0:25football player or human being to be
0:27around. On the other hand, we are
0:29talking about a fairly undersized,
0:31mostly slot-minded late-round rookie in
0:35practices where we aren't even really
0:36fully hitting yet. This should be the
0:39time where guys like Skyy Moore and
0:40Allen are balling out. If they're not,
0:42it's a pretty big problem. Ultimately,
0:44don't get too carried away. We've
0:46literally only seen Puka Nacua and
0:47Tyreek Hill post top-24 numbers as
0:50day-three rookies over the past decade,
0:52but on the other hand, assuming that
0:53Skyy Moore is okay, it's a soft enough
0:55depth chart to believe that Skyy Moore
0:56and Allen could be catching passes from
0:58Patrick Mahomes this season. I've seen
1:00worse late-round outcomes.
