Trade speculation and potential benching risk ahead of Indianapolis deadline; nonzero% chance Taylor is traded before the Colts play or held out to avoid injury, which could impact his fantasy availability and the Colts offense's ability to support fantasy assets.

Malik Willis

PositiveValue8:45

The source recommends adding Malik Willis on waivers as a quarterback streaming option for Week 9 against Miami, citing his value as a runner. New England sacked Willis 4-5 times last week, but the source still likes him as a streaming add if you're in a jam at QB. The Dolphins have an implied total of 21, suggesting a low-scoring game that could limit passing volume, but Willis's rushing upside differentiates him in tight quarterback situations.

Tanner McKee

PositiveProjection13:30

Tanner McKee is currently failing to get anything done as the Eagles QB. Washington just destroyed Philadelphia this past week, and McKee faces the Giants in Week 9 who are coming off a bye and have had extra time to prepare. The Eagles have an implied team total of 18.5, one of the lowest on the board, making them a prime streaming target against.

0:00Week nine, fantasy football defensive streamers and kicker recommendations.
0:05I'm Theo Griminger right here at Rotoire. Whatever it takes to win in fantasy football, we've got you covered.
0:12And one of the edges for fantasy managers that a lot of your league mates are going to completely ignore are streaming defenses and kicker
0:21recommendations. And we've been doing pretty well here. Last week was a really good one for us. Uh when we look back at
0:27some of the recommendations, the Jacksonville Jaguars absolutely smashed. They were an easy one. The Rams had a very, very good performance. They
0:37were an easy one against this Chargers train wreck. Washington Commanders took a little bit of a leap of faith um because they're not that great a
0:45defense, but they performed in a great way. The Lions defense, we talked about them, and they delivered. And then depending on your scoring format,
0:55Bengals could have been a disaster start or an okay one. If again, check your settings because in some leagues they're going to give
1:04you a massive hit on allowing like 30 plus points. Some leagues it's a small hit, but Bengals still did a couple of
1:11things defensively to get by in certain formats, but we'll take the L on that one. But really a 4 in one record on on
1:18defensive streaming recommendations. And that's not even counting our set it and forget it defenses that we kind of remind you of throughout the year. Uh
1:27and then last week the kickers the kicker recommendations were very good.
1:31Chase McLaclin was kicker number five.
1:34He's trending back up again with the Tampa Bay becoming functional. Kyro Santos was kicker seven. Both of them had very good weeks with double digit
1:42scoring. Cam Little we told you to pick up everywhere after the buy. sort of our recommendation was pick up Jacksonville defense, pick up Cam Little throughout
1:51the after the by-week um if they're cut.
1:54Cam Little, the problem was Jacksonville was just too good offensively. Uh didn't get any opportunities to kick field goals, but we know Cam Little will have
2:02those. We'll talk about the kickers in a little bit. Let's start off with the defenses and we're going to look to run
2:07pure once again this week. Looking at some of the team totals, it's pretty easy to spot some defensive plays that can help us win this week. And when we
2:18talk about set it and forget it defenses, there's still a couple of them. Seattle struggled against Chicago, but they have a much better opportunity
2:25against Gardenner Mchu this week.
2:29They're they're basically a set it and forget it D. We'll we'll take the losses with Seattle when they happen. Obviously Chicago with Ben Johnson, Caleb
2:37Williams, completely different beast and they really put a number on Seattle last night, but we're back with the Seattle Seahawks. Don't overthink that one. Now,
2:46a defense that we told you last week to stash was the Houston Texans, and they're not where they were in 2025 at
2:54all, but they are a an elite option this week because they're going up against the LA Chargers. In certain leagues, Houston might be available. They're
3:03worth checking on because of course coming out of the by-week and they've had some lackluster performances this year, but when we look at like the
3:12overall sack leaders for the NFL, uh Houston still has 21 sacks as a team, which is tied for eighth overall. Uh
3:20they are in a great spot this week. The the Chargers are just horrific. And the Chargers have an 18point implied total.
3:30just truly bad things going on with the LA Chargers. We can basically stream against them each and every week. Maybe Mike McDaniel gets fired and they sort
3:38of figure some things out, but the offensive line's a huge issue. They're turning the ball over. They're giving up sacks. It's a defensive streaming dream
3:46right now. Uh, a quick note that Jacksonville, who's if if your if your league is asleep at the wheel and you
3:54didn't pick and they didn't pick up Jacksonville last week, then they're in a ridiculous smash spot. This week it looks like it's going to be like Faniano
4:03starting for Baltimore, Huntley, Lamar Jackson, like they're all the quarterbacks are gone. Baltimore was a train wreck this week. and the implied
4:12team total for the Baltimore Ravens.
4:15Any any football historians who watch my show, uh really appreciate all the support we get on YouTube and on the podcast, but if there's any Baltimore
4:24Ravens fans out there or any historians or any gamblers who gamble literally all the time, uh shout out to all three
4:32bases. If you're a Baltimore Ravens fan, man, this is a tough run out. It's It's demoralizing, but 16 1/2 point team total for the
4:42Baltimore Ravens and their 9 12 point underdogs against Jacksonville.
4:48I I'm going to guess that 16 1/2 point team total for Baltimore. This has got to be one of the lowest in the last 10
4:56plus years for the Ravens. So, let me know in the comments if you're a Ravens fan. Is this the lowest team total
5:01implied team total that you've seen as a Ravens fan? quick turnaround Thursday night game against Jacksonville. I mean, this is a terrible one. So, you're
5:08absolutely streaming the Jacksonville Jaguars defense. Um, really those are our set it and forget it defenses this week. Jacksonville, Seattle, and then
5:19Houston is in in a very good spot.
5:22Jacksonville, I think we can officially move into set it and forget it category.
5:27They've been so good this year. We basically have the Minnesota Vikings, the Seattle Seahawks, the Jacksonville Jaguars, and let's put the Pittsburgh
5:36Steelers in there. Pittsburgh completely shut out Cleveland last week. They're easy to trust. They have their by-week.
5:45The only problem is week 10, the Steelers go up against the Cincinnati Bengals, and the Bengals are on this like absolute heater as an offense, but
5:54Pittsburgh has 26 sacks this year as a team. just awesome stuff when you look at uh how effective this Steelers uh
6:02defense has been. And when we look at uh interceptions, they're at seven. So they have seven interceptions. They have eight sacks. I think that's the ultimate
6:12stash. The ultimate stash for anybody out there is hope that someone in your league cuts Pittsburgh when they are on their by-week this week and says, "I
6:22can't support, you know, keeping this defense through the by-week." pick up Pittsburgh and you might be able to put them in the set it and forget it
6:29category. We love these set it and forget it defenses, but even like you saw this past week, you go up against an
6:35offense like Chicago, Seattle, you might want to pivot off of them. So, I'm never going to tell you to bench a set it and
6:41forget it defense. First of all, if you're a high volume manager out there, you're sort of that's le one league where you don't need to churn the waiver
6:48wire for defenses. It's kind of nice to have, but you do run up against issues where you have like a hot offense like
6:54Chicago. uh that can put up a number even against a team like Seattle. So Minnesota, Seattle, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh Steelers, we're going to
7:03consider them to be in that basically leave them alone category unless it's a really tough matchup. Looking at a couple of options for us this week,
7:11there's a number of them and this is not rocket science. If you want to sort of do your own research, I encourage you to
7:18go check out the implied team totals and then look at previous performance. make sure the defense is pretty healthy and go from there. Kansas City Chiefs, I've
7:28talked about them on a number of weeks.
7:30Certain weeks they get me in trouble.
7:32Certain weeks they look good. Um, but I've sort of leaned into Kansas City multiple weeks throughout this show, throughout this year, and the hit rates
7:39have been mixed when I go with KC. But I like what I'm looking at with the Chiefs this week. They're in
7:45must-win. Uh, you come off of two straight losses. Seattle took him behind the woodshed and then they give up a lead. Lose to Denver last week. Denver
7:54comes back. Shout out Jonah Coleman. Uh strong fourth quarter. But that's two losses in a row for Kansas City. This is
8:02a must-win game for them. They're huge favorites. They're 9 and a half point favorites. They're playing at home against the New York Jets. The Jets
8:11offense can put up points, but they also will give up uh sacks and they also can throw interceptions. Uh Gino is taken a
8:21ton of sacks this year and he has given a ball up like three games in a row. So this is a game where Kansas City can
8:27force turnovers and they can get to Gino Smith and it's a must-win game and the Jets have an implied team total of 18
8:36and a half. Now Jets have good personnel. There's some skill position players that maybe they break off a couple of big plays. We know that the
8:43wide receiver trio of Garrett Wilson, Adnai Mitchell, Garrett Wilh, and Omar Cooper, excuse me, is solid. You know, Brilan Allen's running well, but you
8:52have to roll with the oddsmakers here. N 12 point favorite in with a team with an 18 1/2 point uh team total implied. So,
9:01the Jets are looking like sacrificial lambs on the road in KC in a must-win game for the Chiefs. They are an easy
9:09easy streamer this week. Now, another team that we can go with is the Detroit Lions. I've talked about them last week.
9:16We rolled with them against Minnesota, but the Lions are up to 24 sacks on the season. Uh that's third in the NFL, and
9:25this week they go up against the Miami Dolphins. Uh the Miami Dolphins give up sacks and this is a and last week New
9:34England really really got to Malik Willis. Uh this was I believe it was four or five sacks last week. I'd have
9:40to look that one up. But New England got to Malik Willis last week and the Dolphins have an implied total of like
9:4721. And I've talked about Malik Willis in my waiverwire show. I really like adding him. I think you can use him this
9:53week if you're in a jam at the quarterback position because of what he brings to the table as a runner. But in
9:59terms of defensive streaming, the Lions are in a really good spot. And we have to expect that the Lions, even on the
10:05road, are going to have a huge lead. So maybe they force Malik Willis into throwing into some tight windows, trying to play catchup. Maybe there's an
10:13interception for them as well. Chicago Bears, I love the Chicago Bears. The Chicago Bears are fully back. Um, and when when you make a big trade like they
10:24did for Jeffrey Simmons, an absolute star defensive tackle, it's it was it was like a a ton. They give up two first
10:32round picks to get him, but we already see the impact he can make. 3417 win over Seattle in Seattle. I mean,
10:42absolutely blew him out. And this week they go up against a Tampa Bay Bucks team which has been playing this like
10:49antiquated style where they're just running the ball. And I get it. I get it. I watched the games, too. I know it
10:54was raining, but this is backto-back weeks where they really didn't force Baker Mayfield to throw the ball at all.
11:01That's not going to happen against Chicago. You're not going to be able to just take the air out of the football
11:06and run each and every play. Um, see, Chicago had some strong streaming value early in the year. We we used them early
11:15in the year when they were on like a heater early in the year. We're back to using them. And the the addition of
11:21Jeffrey Simmons completely opened things up for like Montes Sweat. So Montes Sweat comes back from a suspension and he got a sack and he had two quarterback
11:31uh hurries got got hit the quarterback a couple times got to Sam Darnold and then you also had Simmons who had a sack and
11:38these guys played together at Mississippi State and it's like this really highlevel pairing. We love I I love Chicago this week against Tampa Bay
11:48because we know Tampa Bay has given up a ton of sacks this year. The Tampa Bay run uh offense is legit. I mean, we're
11:56not taking anything away from what they've been able to accomplish, but this game looks like one where Chicago can get another huge, huge week from
12:05their offense. They can put pressure on Tampa Bay to have to throw the football.
12:09And Tampa Bay are 6 and 12 point underdogs and they have an implied team total of 20 on the nose. So, they have
12:17the sixth uh the sixth lowest implied team total of any team on the board here. I I really like Chicago and I
12:25think Chicago if they have a a a resounding performance this week against Tampa Bay, then they might join our set it and forget it category. Because when
12:36you talk about down the stretch, Chicago with the way they're playing offense, they are going to force teams into playing a higher tempo, force teams into
12:45taking shots downfield. And the Chicago offense is so effective that it's going to force teams into potential turnovers, and now we have this potentially elite
12:55pass rush with Simmons up front making this whole defense better. when you add an elite player like Simmons, it can make the whole defense better because
13:05Simmons commands a double team on like literally every single play. So, I mean, a lot of lot to give up, but the Chicago
13:13Bears legitimately have a chance to win the NFC this year. We'll see which way this thing goes, but Bears defense really like them this week. Another
13:21defense that I like this week, and again, doesn't have to be it doesn't have to be a complicated game. We want
13:30to stream against bad offenses and bad quarterbacks. And Tanner McKe is right now failing to get anything done. We saw
13:41Washington just destroy the Eagles this past week. And now they're facing the New York Giants who are coming off of a
13:49by-week. So, they've had a extra time to prepare for the Eagles. And I think this is a one where just start the Giants and
13:59sit back and Philly is just going to struggle to score. And we know this Giants offense is also going to put some
14:05pressure on them. Uh the Giants are playing much better. Um I am very into the Giants and I think they're going to
14:11be more readily available than some of the other defenses that I talked about earlier. And when we look at implied team totals, it doesn't get much better
14:20than the Philadelphia Eagles at an 18 12 point implied team total. Uh Giants are favorites in this one. Um if you're
14:28looking at like the overall list of implied team totals, Baltimore we talked about 16 1.5, Arizona at 17, Chargers at 18, Eagles at 18 1.5, Jets at 18 and a
14:38half, Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 20. That's sort of the the teams that you want to go up against if you want to just go
14:44with the odds makers. Talking about some of the kicker, you know what? Let's give one more team and this is like the
14:51disgusting one. The disgusting one. And you know where are we at on this one?
14:58The the one team if you're trying to really roll the dice and you're in a deep format and you can't get anyone.
15:03I'm talking about Dallas. I know. I know. We can't back Dallas, but the Colts are a train wreck right now.
15:11Dallas is nearly six-point favorites.
15:14The implied team total for Indianapolis is 23. But it feels like it could be a force a bunch of turnovers type game. So
15:22Dallas is sort of the if I'm really trying to uh trying to like chase a bad offense, an offense heading south.
15:30There's also like a nonzero% chance that a Jonathan Taylor trade goes down before Indianapolis plays or they just don't play him because they're going to plan
15:39on trading him before the deadline. They don't want him to get hurt. So, I prefer the other ones, but break glass in case
15:45of emergency with the Dallas Cowboys.
15:49And then a quick reminder, of course, I said it earlier, but I think it becomes a very important move for you. If
15:56someone in your league cuts Pittsburgh, prioritize adding the Pittsburgh Steelers. Even with that Bengals game coming off of the by-week. I think they
16:05become a very interesting one. There's not a whole lot of like, you know, layup type defensive streamers to stash for
16:13week 10. Our usual suspects have good good matchups. I'll say that the one team the one team that's looks like an
16:22improving defense, they've been very generous this year in terms of fantasy points allowed, but we saw the Baltimore uh excuse me, Buffalo, the pass rush is
16:32getting a little bit better. They go up against the Jets next week. I don't like using Buffalo, but I think they're
16:37interesting if you're looking for a stash. There's not a whole lot of like interesting stashes. The stash that would be I mean chaotic to add would be
16:48the LA Chargers. If we have further questions about Baltimore at the quarterback position and they really can't get things together, the Chargers
16:57play on Monday Night Football in week 10 at Baltimore. That game could be a very low total with both teams with a uh very
17:06very low implied point total. Uh, so really there's not a whole lot of defensive streaming uh, teams to stash in week 10. I guess if you want to stash
17:16one, the interesting one would be Green Bay because we saw what Detroit was able to do last week against Minnesota.
17:24Minnesota has to go into Green Bay um, in week 10. A little bit of a revenge narrative. Minnesota beat them in week
17:31one. Minnesota scored a ton of points against Green Bay in the fourth quarter in that one. Green Bay potentially could get a revenge factor, but not a whole
17:39lot of stashes that I love in week 10.
17:42Uh, in terms of teams that we, hey, you have to have to roster this team, hold them through the buy. So, look for
17:48Pittsburgh. I can't say this enough.
17:51Pittsburgh defense can be a set it and forget it defense for you in about 80 90% of the games left uh throughout the
17:59season. and they're they could be a team that can help make a factor for you in the fantasy playoffs and help you win
18:04the Pittsburgh Steelers defense is really really good right now. Talking about our kickers and if you picked up Kyro Santos last week, he's back. You
18:15can use him again this week. Uh I think this is a really good one. We want to also give a pour one out and give a big
18:23shout out to Spencer Shrader who I know a lot of you added early in the year. Uh we recommended him in like week one. We
18:30got to we got to let it go. We got to let Spencer Schrader go. Um the Colts offense is not going to support him
18:36enough. Maybe we get a little bit of um clarity on how Indianapolis looks over the stretch. Maybe we get another window
18:43to use Shrader, but I don't think so. I do think that the the it's it kind of a it stinks cutting the the kicker who's
18:51number two in points per game average, but Chase McGlaclin, who we recommended pick up last week, is up to kicker number one in points per game average.
19:00He's fully back. You can use him again this week. I think Tampa Bay is not going to get shut out against Chicago.
19:06They might get forced into more kicking opportunities. So, Mlaughlin and Santos, if you picked them up last week, feel free to use them. Now, my favorite
19:15kicker pickup um if he's available in your league besides those two guys is Matt Gay. Um Matt Gay has been playing
19:24very very well. Uh he had a 50 plus yard field goal last week against the Jets.
19:29Makes all of his extra points. Um, and I think he's in a good spot this week at San Francisco where the the Raiders are
19:37playing well offensively, but can San Francisco slow them up enough to turn some of these uh touchdowns into field goals? We know it's going to be a
19:46high-scoring game. San Francisco has a very high implied team total. The Raiders have an implied team total of only 21 though. Um, so I think Matt Gay
19:56becomes an interesting one. So, continue using Mclaclin, continue using Kyro Santos, or use Matt Gay this week. Um, the other kicker that you could pick up,
20:07and he might have been kept, he might have been cut, but it's one that is sort of a premium name at the kicker
20:13position, and that's Kaim Fairbar, who's continued to be very, very good this year. Uh, he's averaging double-digit fantasy points. He's only missed one
20:24field goal all year and it was a 50 plus yarder. So he's three for three on field goals within 40 yards, six for six in
20:32the 30 yard range and then he's six out of seven in 50 plus. Fair if he was cut would be a set it and forget it kicker
20:42type option for us. Um, he's a premium name though, so some people would have held him through the by-week, but take a
20:48look at those other kickers if you need a boost. Uh, a quick note that this show and all of my shows are brought to you
