NegativeInjurySep 12, 2026
Kraft would rank inside the top five at tight end if healthy, but he tore his ACL in November and is on track to play in Week 1 against Minnesota; recent comments suggest he will be eased back into action. Green Bay signed Jonnu Smith, which could signal Kraft could be on a snap count. The Vikings defense allowed the sixth-fewest fantasy points to tight ends in 2025. The source advises proceeding with caution this week despite Kraft's potential to anchor lineups as the season progresses.
NegativeBustSep 4, 2026
Despite elite per-catch metrics when healthy (2024: 9.3 YAC per reception, 21.9% explosive play rate, 30.0% forced missed tackle rate), Kraft is a bust risk at top-five tight end ADP due to recent multi-ligament knee injury and Packers' hedging strategy. Green Bay signed a proven 10-year veteran tight end late in camp as insurance, signaling uncertainty about Kraft's full workload availability. Reports indicate the team plans to use both tight ends in 12-personnel sets, capping Kraft's target monopoly even when fully healthy. Drafting him as a top-five TE means betting against both his injury recovery and a front office that paid real money to hedge against his availability.
NegativeBustSep 4, 2026
When healthy, Kraft's per-catch numbers are legitimately special: 2024 YAC per Reception 9.3 (1st), Explosive Play Rate 21.9% (3rd), Forced Missed Tackle Rate 30.0% (1st). However, the Packers are already signaling uncertainty about his on-field availability. Kraft himself stated: 'They're going to take into account my rep range probably until halfway through the season, and then they're going to just pat me on the ass and send me out there and send me to the wolves.' While it's fair to question how much truth the Packers are telling, it's hard to lie with your wallet: signing a proven, 10-year veteran receiving tight end this late in camp isn't a depth move for the No. 3 spot, suggesting the team lacks confidence in Kraft's durability or role.
PositiveValueSep 2, 2026
Tucker Kraft's Real-Time ADP sits at 65th overall, within two spots of TE6, despite elite pre-injury metrics that made him fantasy's TE1 before his injury last season, averaging 1.2 more half-PPR points than the next closest player. His 2024 metrics were elite: ranked first in EPA per target, receiving yards per attempt over expected, and yards after catch per reception; third in EPA per route; sixth in yards per route run; and second at his position in red zone targets and touchdowns. Josh Jacobs being placed on the commissioner exempt list is a boon to Green Bay's passing game: with Jacobs on the field, the team threw 51.1% of the time; with Jacobs off the field, their pass rate jumped to 63.2%. Kraft should be a prime beneficiary of increased volume.
PositiveRoleAug 28, 2026
Kraft indicated the Packers will manage his rep range until midseason before full involvement, a conservative ramp-up approach. However, Green Bay's signing of Jonnu Smith (who ran 50% of routes and posted an 11% target rate in 2025 with Pittsburgh) complicates Kraft's value. Smith's presence pulls away from Kraft's target share during the early and middle portions of the season, creating uncertainty around Kraft's usage timeline. The source downgrades Kraft to the back end of the second tier of tight ends.
NegativeProjectionAug 27, 2026
Kraft's ACL injury is the primary concern, compounded by the Packers' history of slowly ramping up players recovering from injury. However, the Playbook notes the offense remains unchanged with the same QB and coach, and target competition has decreased. Kraft's yards after catch average of 10.0 since 2024 is elite (next-closest TE at 6.5), and while he may have overproduced in TDs last season, 17 vacated red zone targets combined with his playmaking ability position him as a potential top-five fantasy TE if his knee holds up.
PositiveProjectionAug 21, 2026
Kraft was the TE1 in total fantasy points (98.2) and points per game (14.0) through seven games before tearing his ACL; he has scored a TD every 10.3 targets over three seasons, the second-best rate by any player with 150+ targets at any position, just behind Mark Andrews. On track to play in the season opener with potential pitch count early; the source ranks him as TE3 behind Brock Bowers and Trey McBride, noting he's an efficient big-play threat reminiscent of prime George Kittle.
NegativeInjuryAug 19, 2026
Kraft suffered a torn ACL in Week 9 last season but avoided the PUP list to begin training camp, a positive sign for availability. However, Kraft told media the Packers will "probably" keep him on a snap count until the halfway point of this season. Before the injury, Kraft had totaled four TE1 finishes in his first seven games and ranked first among TEs with 10.8 YAC/REC. While a snap limit may do little to hurt his fantasy value given he was thriving on just 5.6 targets per game, it's impossible to ignore that a snap cap could put a hard ceiling on his fantasy upside early in the season. It's also hard to know if Kraft will look like the pre-injury player, as his elite athleticism played a big role in his production despite not being heavily targeted.
NegativeBustAug 12, 2026
Kraft is overpriced at TE8 despite elite YAC production. He was on pace for a historic 2025 in the YAC department with 10.6 yards after catch on average, the record for tight ends with 50+ targets over the past decade. However, he has to be the best YAC producer in recent history because he is not an elite target-earner; his 19.8 percent target rate ranked 15th among tight ends in 2025. If a torn ACL inhibits any of his after-catch ability, he becomes a low-end TE1, not the top-five option he is currently being drafted as.
PositiveProjectionAug 4, 2026
TE recovering from early 2025 ACL tear but was TE1 in total fantasy points (98.2) and points per game (14.0) through seven games before injury. Currently at ADP 60.7 as fifth tight end off board at end of fifth round; recent reports suggest he is on track to play in season opener. Source is eyeballing Kraft as the tight end who was TE1 last season, with potential to close ADP gap with Tyler Warren (4-5 turn) and Colston Loveland (middle of fourth).
PositiveProjectionAug 3, 2026
Before his injury last year, Kraft was PPR's TE1 overall on TE8 usage; in half-PPR fantasy points over replacement per game, he was 26th overall. He had two 20+ point outings on the backs of wild explosive plays. His athleticism for a 6'5"/259-pound tight end is rare, and the Packers will keep featuring him on play-action shots. However, Kraft is a negative regression candidate. He easily led the position with +0.91 EPA per target, but it's nearly impossible to average 11.4 yards per target on a 4.5 average depth of target. Even the best TEs with that low aDOT typically can only hold 8.5-9.5 YPT, and that's without a brace on their knee.
PositiveInjuryJul 31, 2026
Packers TE was placed on PUP list last week but is now coming off the list on Friday per HC Matt LaFleur. Kraft isn't going to practice right away but will do individual work and walk throughs. This is a good sign for Kraft being ready to go sooner rather than later. He was the TE3 in FPPG last season before the injury. Right now, Kraft has an early Yahoo ADP around Pick 60 as the TE5 off the board. In the event Kraft is good to go for Week 1, he's looking like a strong TE value pick for fantasy.
