Positive signalRole

Dowdle's decisive downhill style suits Steelers' under-center bully ball approach when healthy.

Dowdle is a physical, decisive downhill ball-carrier who fits the Steelers' emerging 'bully ball' offensive scheme. When healthy, he is part of the running back duo that enables the Steelers' under-center run game, which has averaged 6.8 yards per play (2nd best in the league). The source identifies Dowdle as key personnel for the Steelers' offensive turnaround through embracing their physicality and downhill running style.
