Video: Week 5 Game-by-Game Fantasy Football Preview
Alvin Kamara... he got like seven rushes last week, but he got all the green zone touches, got a bunch of work in the receiving game... he's basically in the role that ETN was in at the beginning of the season. So he will split early down work with Kedre Miller. He'll lose like obvious pass downs to CJ Donaldson... running backs are kept into block so often against Brian Flores that you see their route rate absolutely plummet.

Splits early-down work; ceiling capped by Flores scheme blocking demands

Kamara occupies a role similar to ETN's early-season usage: splits early-down work with Kedre Miller but loses obvious pass-down snaps to CJ Donaldson. Last week he recorded seven rushes but secured all green-zone touches and significant receiving work. Davis Mattek is 'kind of into playing' Kamara this week despite a 'horrible, horrible matchup' against Minnesota, ranking him around RB20 for the week. However, the Brian Flores defensive scheme poses a ceiling risk: running backs are forced into blocking so often that their route rate 'absolutely plummet[s],' which could disrupt Kamara's pass-game path unless New Orleans uses six-man protections.
