Yahoo Sports NFL on Jalon Daniels

Daniels (undrafted rookie) went 19-25, 0 TOs in upset win; first undrafted rookie to beat Cowboys since 1987.

Daniels, an undrafted rookie making only his second NFL start, led the winless Buccaneers to a 24-16 upset victory over the favored Cowboys. He completed 19 of 25 passes and never turned the football over, becoming the first undrafted rookie starting QB to beat the Cowboys since 1987 (Washington's Ed Rubbert). The source notes that rather than forcing Daniels to carry the offense, Tampa Bay protected him with the running game and exploited Dallas' poor tackling, but Daniels' efficient performance and turnover-free game were key to the upset.
