Chris Rodriguez Jr. says Josh Downs stinks. Despite 93% route share in Week 5 with the team trailing the entire time, Downs was outtargeted by Laquan Treadwell, Keenan Allen, and Tyler Warren. He received only 6 targets on 43 drop backs (3 for 47 yards, 7 PPR points) and was target-per-route-run mugged by Keenan Allen. He has been playing in 12 personnel, so it's not a personnel issue. Outside of his phenomenal performance against the Chiefs, Downs has not been a good contributing player. Chris Rodriguez Jr. saw very little in pre-season data to suggest Downs would be worse with full playing time, but he has been.
