Downs would be a huge addition given his route-running acumen and versatility at all three receiver positions. Downs can attack all three levels of the field and can shake free independently of Kyle Shanahan's scheme.

Downs is pipe dream target; elite route-runner fits Shanahan scheme perfectly.

Downs is the source's pipe dream trade target for the 49ers; he has elite route-running acumen and versatility at all three receiver positions, can attack all three levels of the field, and can shake free independently of Kyle Shanahan's scheme. The source notes the Colts aren't likely to pay Downs (similar to their situation with Alec Pierce), but his fit with the 49ers offense would make it a nightmare to game plan for.
