Yahoo Sports NFL on J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy's 243-yard Saints relief outing and decision-making impressed Giants coaches.

McCarthy impressed in his fourth-quarter relief appearance against New Orleans with 243 passing yards on 11 completions in limited action with minimal preparation. Nagy praised his 'operation' in that stressful moment, noting McCarthy executed hurry-up and no-huddle situations with zero prior reps, and made quality throws in both standard and red-zone situations, demonstrating strong decision-making and demeanor throughout his four-week integration.
