Back in Week 1 with both healthy, Jones started the game and ended up as the RB24 on RB30 usage. He split time fairly evenly, including at the goal line where both of them had an opportunity. Jones played well while Mason was injured, so he deserves the more optimistic case in the short run.

Mason expected to play; Jones earned lead role but Vikings will manage workload.

Mason is expected to play Week 7 vs. Indianapolis despite a finger injury. In Week 1 with both healthy, starter Aaron Jones ended up as RB24 on RB30 usage with fairly even time-splitting including at the goal line. Jones played well during Mason's absence and deserves the more optimistic case in the short run, though the Vikings will be careful with Jones' workload after he carried the offense, and Mason should be fresher.
