From the episode
Keenan Allen is a quarterback's best friend at this stage in his career. His ceiling is going to be limited in fantasy football. But he's a nice security blanket. He gets open consistently, and he can command targets. I don't see why that kind of profile, that kind of player, should be on the waiver wire in most 12-team leagues.
STACKED’s take
Positive signalValue
Allen's elite target-per-route rate makes him waiver-wire gold despite limited ceiling.
Allen leads the Colts in targets per route run rate (26% with Chargers in 2025, best on Bears in 2024 despite Roma Dunze and DJ Moore). JJ Zachariason argues Allen's consistent target-getting profile—described as a 'quarterback's best friend'—should not be on waiver wire in 12-team leagues, especially with favorable schedule (Commanders, Titans next). Limited ceiling due to role as security blanket, but reliable floor.
