From the episode

Eli Stowers, who was put on IR, I think just for sucking. Um, I don't know that he had a very serious injury... they were basically only passing at three receiver sets.

Stowers placed on IR; source suspects roster move rather than serious injury.

Stowers was put on IR, and the source suspects it may have been just for roster management rather than a serious injury. The source notes Stowers had a worse start to his rookie season than Makai Lemon, and the Eagles' decision to place him on IR means they'll be running plenty of three-receiver sets, which could benefit Lemon's route volume.
