From the article
first overall pick Fernando Mendoza is going to be the starter at some point and Kubiak was asked after Sunday's 35-21 loss to the Rams if it is time to start thinking about that future when it comes to who is piloting the offense
STACKED’s take
Mendoza expected to start soon as Raiders consider QB change to fix offensive woes.
First overall pick Fernando Mendoza is expected to become the Raiders starter at some point; head coach Klint Kubiak acknowledged after a 35-21 loss to the Rams that a quarterback change is under consideration as part of the team's effort to fix offensive problems including red zone efficiency and third-quarter performance. The source notes that the team's weak running game and defense (allowing 30+ points in each of four straight losses) provide little support for any quarterback, but the difficult upcoming schedule against the Jets, 49ers, Seahawks, and Broncos may accelerate the timeline for turning the offense over to the rookie if current issues persist.
