Video: This Is What Mattered In Week 7
Jonah Coleman came back from the IR and completely dominated the snaps here. 61 offensive plays. Jonah Coleman played 50% of them. Played 30 of 61. Led the backfield in routes, led the backfield in rushes. Now, RJ Harvey scored a long touchdown. JK Dobbins scored a short touchdown. The way that I would anticipate this is that basically JK Dobbins, his role is going to completely diminish.

Coleman dominates snap share at 50%; Payton signals more usage ahead.

Jonah Coleman returned from IR and dominated snap share with 30 of 61 offensive plays (50%), led the backfield in both routes and rushes, and should be viewed as the lead running back going forward. Mattek notes that Sean Payton stated post-game 'We need to get him the ball even more,' signaling role expansion and potential top-20 RB finish if he had received the short-yardage touchdown instead of JK Dobbins. Coleman's immediate takeover of two-minute drill and long down-and-distance situations further solidifies his role and raises questions about the remaining usage for other backfield players.
