The Athletic Football Show on C.J. Stroud

Stroud's top-10 EPA per dropback performance shows elite play despite Texans' 0-4 record.

Stroud delivered an elite performance in the Texans' loss to Dallas, posting a top-10 EPA per dropback of his entire career. The source notes he made several equally impressive throws throughout the game and was 'dealing,' but the Texans' defense failed to step up in crunch time. Despite the loss, Stroud has been one of the best five or six quarterbacks in the NFL thus far this season, and the source maintains long-term faith in his ability to perform at a top-10 level.
