The Athletic Football Show on Drake Maye

Maye's strip sack shows small-hand vulnerability and pocket awareness issues.

The source notes Drake Maye had a strip sack in the Patriots-Bills game, attributing it partly to his small hands ('this is going to be a thing with him probably for a majority of his career') and his tendency to put himself in bad positions. The source explains 'he kind of puts himself in those positions where on that play, the right guard is just getting pushed right into his face. And he tries to slide up into a pocket that is is non-existent.' The source compares this to 'sliding up into like the trash compactor from Star Wars.' However, the source notes this is offset by his ability to make plays in these situations.
