Fantasy Focus Football on Christian McCaffrey

PodcastWeek 5 Fantasy Football Preview: Everything You Need Before Setting Your Lineup...October 8, 2026

From the episode

the 49ers, Daniel... mid-pack so far, but it gets tough. They have the Commanders who have been actually really good against running backs so far... it's not ideal. You ideally prefer a lighter slate... with McCaffrey, it's not too scary because he does so much in the passing game.

McCaffrey's tough RB schedule ahead offset by pass-game volume.

Christian McCaffrey faces a difficult remaining strength of schedule for running backs. The 49ers have a mid-pack schedule so far but it gets tough ahead with matchups against the Commanders (good against RBs), Atlanta, Minnesota, Seattle, the Rams, and the Chiefs. However, McCaffrey's extensive involvement in the passing game mitigates some of this concern.
