From the episode

Give me Trey McBride here... him and Bowers took discussion before the season. They were very close together... give me McBride at 18 overall... you could get Bowers in the second and McBride in the third. So both great values.

Positive signalValue

McBride at 18 overall is a value pick; was second-round range pre-season.

Selected at 18 overall in the draft redo; the source notes McBride and Bowers were discussed as very close together before the season in the second-round range. McBride is now available in the third round, representing significant value. The source frames him as guaranteed production rather than aspirational, fitting the mid-season draft philosophy of 'less aspirational, more guaranteed.'
