I have Jonathan Taylor on my fantasy team and I'll be honest, I was initially hoping that Jonathan Taylor wouldn't get traded...after the Indianapolis Colts go ahead and trade away their star offensive lineman in Quenton Nelson, I've changed my mind. I need JT sent out of Indy...if JT gets traded over to Minnesota, I wouldn't be surprised if Jonathan Taylor straight up sees 90-plus percent of the touches in this Minnesota Vikings backfield...I would really like the Minnesota Vikings because I think it's a competitive team, very limited competition...we get the extra game with a good schedule.
STACKED’s take
Trade Taylor to Minnesota for 90%+ touches and elite schedule; avoid RBBC situations in Denver, Giants, Bengals.
Flock Fantasy reversed its initial preference for Taylor to stay in Indianapolis after the Colts traded star offensive lineman Quenton Nelson, now viewing the Colts offense as the worst in the NFL and Taylor's situation as untenable despite guaranteed 90%+ touch share. The source wants Taylor traded to a competitive team to avoid late-season shutdown risk if Indianapolis falls out of contention. Minnesota is the preferred landing spot due to limited backfield competition (90%+ touches likely vs. Jordan Mason), a strong remaining schedule (Lions 17th in schedule-adjusted points allowed to RBs, plus favorable matchups vs Bills, Packers, 49ers, Falcons, Panthers), and the Vikings having already passed their bye week for an extra game of production. Trade scenarios to Denver, Giants, and Bengals present downside risk due to running back by committee usage (Jonah Coleman and ARJ Harvey in Denver; Cam Akers and Eno Benjamin in Giants). Taylor carries a $16 million cap hit this season and $21 million in 2027, making him an expensive trade target; the source expects a second-round and fifth-round pick package similar to what the Panthers received for Christian McCaffrey.
