Carnell Tate continues to be the only thing that really matters about the Titans offense... Seven targets, five grabs, 69 yards... I thought this was one of his better games, maybe his best game all season... right now he has 413 yards on the season. He averages 2.0 yards per route run. That is leading the wide re the rookie wide receivers so far this year.
STACKED’s take
Leads rookies with 413 yards, 2.0 YPRR; Harmon sees drop rate as temporary.
Carnell Tate continues to be the primary offensive focal point for the Titans, establishing himself as the team's most important pass-catcher. Matt Harmon praises his recent performance, calling his game (7 targets, 5 catches, 69 yards) "one of his better games, maybe his best game all season." Over the last two games, Tate has 14 targets, 11 catches, and 139 yards—49% of the Titans' total team yards. Harmon highlights Tate's separation skills and ability to win on inbreakers, exactly where he projected Tate would succeed coming out of Ohio State. Tate currently leads all rookie wide receivers with 413 yards and 2.0 yards per route run. He is the Titans' only downfield receiver and should continue to make big plays. His 8% drop rate is concerning but likely temporary given he had zero drops as a collegiate player and was one of the best ball winners charted; drops may be timing-based and related to quarterback issues. In the right matchups he will have nice moments, and once drops are cleaned up, he projects as a really good player regardless of quarterback and play-caller issues.
