The Athletic Football Show on Jared Goff

Goff's Week 4 performance hampered by 90% shotgun usage, finicky execution.

Goff appeared finicky and frantic in Week 4 against the Panthers, operating out of shotgun on 90% of his pass attempts despite the Lions' preference for under-center play action. Brad Idzik attributed the erratic performance partly to the uncharacteristic offensive scheme and execution errors from receivers, noting Goff felt "a little bit more finicky and frantic than I think he normally does" due to the heavy shotgun usage and pressure concerns.
